Chapter 13

Let's Break the Fourth Wall

So I'm fully aware where I left y'all is considered a cliffhanger but hey, I'm trying to tell you about my college experience and my ability to be put into situations that are one hundred percent of my doing… so where were we? Oh right… the department head catching us, proceed.

"I see we need to have a formal meeting regarding this situation." Jessica said furrowing her brows at me before shooting Sam a look.

"Jessica that isn't necessary." Sam said turning around giving me a chance to compose myself, luckily my clothes were still on my shirt was just higher than it should have been.

"It seems as though it is in my opinion, particularly with her being the same student that showed up a your home clearly drunk and now I walk in and see this display of carelessness. This is very unprofessional Mr. Evans and Ms Jones this isn't going to reflect well on future employers especially since you need a letter of recommendation for the both of us and if this were to get out his letter would be viewed as biased. Ms. Jones excuse us so we can set up a meeting about how to proceed." Jessica said and I had this strange urge to go off on her but I figured enough was already done no need to add to it.

"Sorry." I said to Sam who just shook his head before helping me off his desk. Is this considered the walk of shame? More like the walk of dishonor… ooooh like in the Lion King two? Deceptionnn, disgraceee… them damn zebras were sanging.

"I'll email your prompt to you Ms. Jones." He said before I walked out and at the moment I had completely forgot about needing a prompt.

Sam

"Jessica this is completely unnecessary and you know it. There is no need of a meeting about what you saw, we are two consenting adults and anything we did or do doesn't need a review from the department." I said feeling annoyed and very embarrassed.

"She's a student that you requested and I catch you two in a compromising position, it doesn't look good Sam because you read her work from when she was in high school and now you two are suddenly a thing."

"My first time meeting Ms. Jones was when she walked into my class at the beginning of the semester, so your claims are baseless and this is being completely blown out of proportion." I mean what she's saying does make sense and you know all it takes is for someone to hear it that way to start making allegations.

"I will need to speak with Ms. Jones and make sure that what you say is factual but for the time being I'm placing you both under review until it's all sorted." Jessica said with a shrug.

"I have never been under review and with it so close to the end of the term that could put her on academic probation for conduct and mess up her chances of graduating early." I replied shaking my head not believing she would take it this far.

"You need to be more concerned about your career than her chances of graduating early, you clearly have forgotten that we have strict rules on fraternization among staff and students though you may both be consenting adults there are still rules to abide by, I will send out a notice for you both when the meeting will be held." She said before walking out leaving me standing there in shock and completely annoyed. Should've just given her a prompt now look at you.

I quickly shot her the prompt I wanted her to write and sat at my desk thinking about what the hell just happened and seriously rethinking of what Mercedes said to me months ago about Jessica acting like someone interested in me instead of as a colleague. I pulled my phone out and decided to call an old friend because this time I really didn't even know what the hell I was doing or why I was still so drawn to her because it was more than just physical and he knew it but he also could tell she was holding back and that scared him.

"Long time no talk."

"Hey Q, how are you?"

"Good just feeding the baby, how are you?"

"I'm good...ish."

"Oh what have you done?"

"Honestly… a student."

"WHAT!"

"It's not what you think, I really did try to reign in my attraction to her but… she was persistent in hers and I just-"

"You have got to be kidding me, have you even considered the ramifications of getting involved with a student?"

"I didn't think it would be an issue, she's an adult and so am I."

"What do you mean by issue?"

"I mean my department head caught us in my office today."

"Were you naked?"

"No, we were just kissing but there's to be a meeting about how to move forward and we have both been placed under review."

"Are there any rules prohibiting this type of relationship?"

"There's a few rule advising against it but nothing prohibiting it."

"How deep is this thing?"

"TBD."

"If you need representation, I'll fly down there but you better hope it doesn't come to that."

"Thanks Q, give Beth a kiss of me and I'll call you again soon."

"I will."

After she hung up I checked my email smirking when I saw that I had an email from Mercedes about the prompt I'd given her opening it and chuckling at her response.

Oh you have got to be shitting me! I was drunk not incoherent you pompous asshole!

After I left his office I went to my next classes trying to remain calm while trying to fill Nicole in on what happened but because she was such an impatient hoe she demanded I pretend to be sick and leave early.

"Okay now tell me what happened!" Nicole said as we walked to the campus library to pick up some books she needed.

"First of all it's not as juicy as you think and secondly I'm going to need you to calm down." I replied rolling my eyes but laughing.

"Then why tell me if you want me to react in a calm way, the fuck?"

"Fine, we were caught by his department head kissing and now we're under review whatever that means."

"Wait… you do know this could mess up you graduating early right?" She said stopping looking at me worriedly.

"We were only kissing and there isn't a firm do not sleep with your student clause in the handbook it's just loosely suggested. That woman is just hell bent on trying to get a piece of them luscious lips..." Bitch did you just say luscious? Really? I'm embarrassed for you.

"Now girl I know damn well you didn't just say some stupid shit like that." Nicole whispered as we walked into the library heading towards the elevator.

"She is, she's the same woman from that night and besides had I been in my right mind we would have never been kissing." I replied and she just looked at my like she knew I was lying. "Whet?"

"You can try to convince yourself of that lie but you know better than to lie to me about this and you also know that you need to heed what your moma said about him literally wanting other things, I mean have y'all really talked?" I see the library makes a bitch Maya Angelou…

"He asked me out on a date so maybe we can talk then..." I replied and she shot me another look before walking over to the counter giving them her name for the books she had on hold.

"All I'm saying is that what do you really know about him except he got that good good?" She asked nodding me over as she walked to find a table away from other people.

"I know enough to know that I like him." See she be lying.

"Girl! See you know damn well that's not convincing anyone." She retorted finally finding a spot in the back.

"Okay so I only know surface things but we vibe..."

"Look you know I'm all for this whatever you two have but your education is now being pulled into it and I know how hard you worked to maintain your grades and I also know that you plan on leaving this state after you graduate, does he? Does he know that despite how you act you want that weird dream of a family, a dog and real love AFTER you live a little? What kind of real relationship can you have if you're there and he's here or what if he wants to stay here and build a family here?" Damn… she didn't have to read us like that.

"Nic, you're thinking to deeply about this." I replied shaking my head.

"Mhm and you're doing what you always do which is not consider everything and everyone. When you want something you go after it and don't get me wrong I love that about you very much but Merce you have to think about everything this time and before you two get into some sex filled date you need to talk to him." Nicole said looking at me with concern.

"Nic..."

"You know I'm always down for the foolery but now with this now being out and the both of you potentially getting in trouble you have to face it seriously." She interrupted and I couldn't help but looking at her with an impressed expression.

"Aww you care about me!" I said with a smirk to which she rolled her eyes.

"Bitch, duh! Now what are you going to do?" She asked and I honestly didn't even know how to answer that question but one thing was for sure I would have to call my parents before the school did.

Pause

So I'm well aware that my story I'm telling you guys has somehow kept you captivated and I'm very much happy about this but I must forewarn you all that this bitch Jessica is crazy as hell! She also is trying to get my not man (you know because we haven't… whatever he still my man!) Any way here she come with the bullshit, just wait because she about to trip you all out… hell I was tripped out a little.

After we left the library I headed home to call my parents and get some of my homework completed, I checked my email first noticing Sam sent me an email with my prompt and immediately got pissed off.

Prompt: The importance of not making rash decisions when intoxicated.

"Oh hell nah!" I said to myself before quickly responding and shutting my laptop rolling my eyes, I was just about to call my parents when there was a knock at my door.

"Ms. Jones… I think it's time we had a little chat." What the hell is this crazy bitch doing here?

"I need to call my parents before having any formal conversations." I replied calmly.

"Consider this off the record." Jessica replied with a smirk. Don't you dare let that heifer in she's up to something!

"I'd rather not speak with you alone before we have our formal meeting."

"It'll only take a minute." Persistent little wench isn't she… I mean we could hear her out but I'd record it.

"Fine." I said moving aside and allowing her inside, showing her to the couch but she shook her head choosing to remain standing.

"I will keep this to the point, this can all go away if you leave Mr. Evans alone." I TOLD YOU THIS HOE WAS CRAZY!

"If I don't?" Okay… let's see where this is going.

"His career won't be ruined because he as an actual witness to you coming to his home, unannounced dressed provocatively and clearly very intoxicated. Then to be caught by the same witness in a compromising position… it will your word against mine because let's face it Ms. Jones Sam will be noble and try to stick up for you but they won't take what he says seriously. So make it easy on the both of you and walk away."

Hey remember me? Okay so a lot of you probably thought crazy bitch here was going to go after Sam but why go after him when you can get rid of the actual 'problem' but as we all can see she's a smart crazy bitch. Oh and she is absolutely tripping if she thinks my stubborn ass is about to just let him go like give me so credit damn.

"I think this conversation is over and we will proceed with a formal conversation with you, myself and Mr. Evans along with my parents and the board. Unlike you I don't have to result to these tactics to get a man, so if you'll excuse me I have a very hard phone call to make." I replied matching her cool tone and a smirk.

"Oh Ms. Jones you just don't know whose door you're knocking on but you're about to find out." Jessica replied before walking out. Whew lawd girl we are in troubleee..

Listen y'all it's about to go downhill from here because again that bitch Jessica is crazy and I'm just like how are all these hoes so pressed over something they've never had? I mean I've had it so me showing up is… oh y'all like it's amazing like mmm… but that's besides the point! Just wait and see what this woman does next like… she tripping!

Soooo... Jessica went to Mercedes! Also no Jessica doesn't know that our girl is a whole hot mess but the next chapter will have a TON of Samcedes and some very STEAMYYYY reunions ;) Until next time XOXO!
