A/N: Some of you might have wanted to know what happened after the deadly battle between Goku and Gohan, so here it is. This chapter is entirely about them, so it's short. I hope you can enjoy!

Pacing back and forth like a mad man, Goku continued to wait for his son to awaken. Upon finding himself laying down front first, just several feet from his unconscious son, he immediately attempted to push himself onto his feet, groaning when he realized that the task was much harder than it should be, his sore muscles protesting due to the beating he had received from his than unstable son. After two more unsuccessful tries, he was finally able to stand, but groaned again miserably as his next course of action, actually moving, had been even much more difficult. Fortunately, it only took him a minute or so to get his legs to move towards his son, kneeling next to him in order to check if he was still breathing. He signed with relief when he felt a pulse travel up his index and pointer finger.

With his limp son over his shoulder, Goku started the long journey to the Time Chamber's rooms. There were times that he feared that he'd never make it back to the entrance, their fight having dragged them further than he would have liked. When he had reached his destination, downright drenched in sweat which stung his open wounds many times over, he was barely able to place his son on the bed, much less make it to his own before collapsing and letting darkness take over.

When he had awakened, he grimaced at the feeling of stickiness, the sweat having dried for who know how long. Before heading into the shower room, he made sure to check on how his son was doing. Thankfully, he found that he was merely sleeping as his heart was beating at a more steady rhythm than earlier on.

But after coming out of the shower and hours had came and went, spending most of those hours training, Goku began to worry. And he had been right to because even two weeks later, Gohan had still not regained consciousness, which lead him to believe that his son wasn't sleeping; no, he was in a coma.

Now as he entered in what was most likely the third week, Goku was at his wits end and was strongly considering to pick up his son and cut their time in the Time Chamber short; if Gohan didn't get any nourishment or hell at least water in his system sometime soon, he would probably only last for about one more week before he died. At this point, any normal human would have most likely passed away, but of course Gohan being a half Saiyan and all vastly increased his survival rate.

So one could only imagine just how the full Saiyan felt when his son spoke.

"Dad?"

Confessions

Goku's eyes widened at the sound of his son's voice, but he didn't turn around, he didn't because he was afraid that it would be like before and the time before that. How many times had he felt excitement when he thought he had heard his son call out to him, only to find out that it was just his mind playing some kind of sick game on him? He didn't know, but he sure as hell wasn't going to-

"Da-dad? What are y-ou do-ing ugh! I need water…"

Goku whirled around, more hopefully than ever since his mind never pranked him to this extent. The full Saiyan felt his vision blur when he saw that his son had indeed come to, with his hair tousled just like it usually was on any regular day in the morning.

Realizing that he was staring instead of attending to his son's request, he rushed to the fridge but paused and thought better of it since that water might be too cold for him. So instead he swung open the nearby cupboard and plucked a lukewarm bottle of water, then dashed back to his son, kneeling right beside his bed.

"Here. Now drink…" Goku cringed as he witnessed Gohan burst into coughing fits, water spraying all over himself. "Slowly son…slowly."

Once Gohan drank as much as his stomach could take, he sighed and then faced his father. He gasped when he saw some tears trail down his cheek. "Dad? Why are you crying?"

Goku laughed tersely, reeling in his son into the gentlest of hugs and well Gohan also began to cry because he couldn't remember the last time his father hugging him in such a loving manner.

"Dad?"

Unwrapping his arms from him, Goku gave his son a warm smile. "Nothing…just glad to see you awake son."

"Oh…but what happened? I feel like I've been out for days and-" Gohan gagged upon sniffing himself. "Ugh, I smell horrible!"

Suddenly dread filled Goku as he recalled his son telling him once that it was possible to suffer memory loss when waking up from a coma.

"Gohan…what is the last thing you remember?" He asked carefully.

The half Saiyan's forehead and nose wrinkled as he tried to bring forth the buried memories.

"Uhh…I remember that…that-" Gohan's pensive look changed to one of surprised and then he frowned, making Goku swallow, already fearing the worse…which when he thought about it, he didn't know what it was. On the one hand, if he did remember the fight, not only might he hate him more, but also knowing Gohan, the guilt of almost killing his own father just might break him. On the other, if he didn't recall the events at all, he might be able to get the chance to make things right. Why did the fact that he was mentally praying for it to be the latter make him feel like shit?

"That you-that you cheated on mom and wouldn't tell me why…"

Goku sighed. "Gohan look-" He stopped when he realized that his answer wasn't exactly clear. Does he mean 'that you cheated on mom and wouldn't tell me why' or does he actually mean 'that you cheated on mom and wouldn't tell me why, so I beat the crap out of you until you did'?

"Are you sure you don't remember anything else?"

"Coward…" Goku just about fell back. "I called you a coward and-and oh Kami, I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry I said all those hurtful things to you!"

Goku easily caught his son within his arms when he threw himself against him, the older Saiyan stroking his hair sympathetically. "There, there son, I know you didn't mean to-"

"No!" Gohan hugged him tighter as tears streaked down his cheeks in small streams. "I-I shouldn't have said all that and go as far as threaten you…"

As far as threaten me only?

"I'm just so glad that I didn't follow through with it…or I'd never be able to forgive myself!"

"So wait….the last thing you remember saying is calling me a coward?"

"Isn't that what I just said?! I must have passed out soon after because I don't remember any else, just waking up moments ago."

"O-Oh…" Goku's voice trailed off.

In seeing his father's astonished expression, his dark eyes narrowed suspiciously. "Okay dad…what are you not telling me?" Panic filled his body. "Did I follow through with it?! Did I-"

Goku snapped back into focus. "No! You didn't! You were right before. You passed out right after and I guess all the stress had gotten the best of you since you've been out cold for a few days now."

There…he made his choice and he'd be damned if he didn't feel like scum. And after the first lie, the lies keep on coming and shit he couldn't believe how much easier it was becoming lie as he vomited lie after lie.

"So let me get this straight…you're telling me that while I was unconscious, you spend endless amount of hours far out there and once you grew tired, only then did you realize that you were lost. And that knowing that you would die if you didn't find your way back to the entrance, you were miraculously about to ascended beyond a Super Saiyan? Did I get all that?" When his father nodded a little too quickly, his eyes narrowed skeptically; he then smiled, but it was a bittersweet one.

He knows I'm lying Goku mentally sighed sadly. "Okay…"

"Yeah…"

And that was it. If he couldn't stomach the idea of lying to him about everything, the least he could do is tell him something that was true. And so he told him the truth about how he married his mom, his feelings for her and a glimpse of his feelings towards a certain Saiyan Princess.

"So you don't…you never loved mom?" Gohan asked, as he took a large bite out of a piece of chicken, followed by a large swing of water before shoving a mouth full of rice, then soup, then corn, then dinosaur meat, etc.

At some point during his story, Goku stated that he couldn't stand the way the half Saiyan smelled, nor could Gohan himself so he stopped and told him he would continue once he showered. After that, Gohan complained that he was hungry, meaning that his Saiyan appetite had made its return.

"No…I never did, at least not in the way I should have. I only ever saw her as my close friend and guess what? I don't regret marrying her because if I never had, you wouldn't be here now would you?"

Gohan giggled slightly when Goku ruffled his hair. "Still can't believe that mom got you to marry her by saying that marriage was a type of food! Only you dad!"

Goku pouted. "It's really not funny. Back then, I had thought that a wedding had to be the tastiest food ever because she had been making a big deal out of it."

Gohan nodded. "You're right, it's not funny. It's hilarious!" The half Saiyan exploded into a giggling fit and well Goku found it infectious so he joined in.

Once their laughter had faded into silence, Gohan expression had grown serious. "So I guess that means that you two will never get back together huh? I mean do you think you can grow to love her?"

Goku smiled weakly. "That's not likely to happen son…I should have loved her before I married her in the first place, but at the time I just didn't understand you know? And I think that Chi-Chi's obsession with me then had clouded her judgement. Honestly, I don't know what she saw in me. She never understood that she merely loved the idea of me, not who I truly am. Don't get me wrong, I know that she probably grew to love me eventually. But in the end, she doesn't understand me. She has always tried to force me to be something I'm not. 'Go to school Goku and learn something so you can get a job and support us' she would say, and darn it, I just can't! I don't get any of that stuff. I get fighting, so that's what I did to support us. It was easy and-"

Goku could tell that Gohan was stunned at what he was hearing and hell, so was he himself; he had never been one to speak so freely and well he had a hunch that he was learning to because of the Saiyan Princess, as the first instance when he had openly talked about his emotions was on that fateful day, the day she had selflessly taken a deadly energy blast that was meant for him.

Gohan laughed. "Wait, your fighter name was the Great Man-Child?!"

"Krillin and Yamcha weren't the greatest of friends back then, before you were born. They kept yelling it in the crowd and it eventually caught on. I know I'm childish…but they didn't have to be mean about it. Maybe it's because I was hit in the head a lot, ask Bulma, she'll defend me."

Gohan giggled. "Mom always did say you were probably dropped on the head as a child."

Mom has always told me that you are an idiot and that she thanked Kami that I inherited her brains instead of yours-

"I'm starting to believe I actually was…" The full Saiyan signed when his son's hurtful words echoed through his ears, words that were fueled by rage.

Gohan's face became guilt ridden when he saw the sadness in his father's eyes. "I don't think you're stupid dad. I didn't mean it…"

"No, in some way, I think you did."

"No, I really didn't." he stated firmly. "You might not be book smart but you're a genius when it comes to fighting! In fact, I bet if you wanted to, you could become a martial arts trainer!"

Goku grinned weakly at his son's attempts of trying to make him feel better.

"And also, you're the greatest dad I could ever ask for."

"I thought Piccolo was."

Gohan rolled his eyes. "Listen, Piccolo is a lot of things; a great teacher, a great listener and a great friend, but a father…not really. He never took me out for ice cream….well he has once, but since he only lives of water, it's rather boring to eat ice cream by yourself. Also, while he is a great listener when he wants to be, he never talks back. He just starts mediating and I seriously wouldn't be surprised if he ends up ignoring me after a while. Dad, you don't do that! You actually eat ice cream with me, have had picnics with me and mom together, gone camping in the wood, went swimming and the best, we've gone fishing!"

Goku actually smiled this time, feeling touched from his son's words.

"But after you left me and mom all that stopped."

Goku sighed. "I know and I'm sorry about that. But I promise, once we are out of here and the Androids are taken care of, we will get to do all those things again. And also, I'll talk to Chi-Chi."

"And Bra?" He almost spat that out. He didn't hate the Saiyan Princess personally, he just hated that she was the reason his mom and dad broke up. But then again, was it really such a bad thing, them ending their marriage? Sure, the circumstances in which they broke up were unspeakable, but if it had happened differently, if an alternative path had been taken, would it have been so awful? His father basically confessed that he was unhappy with his mom right? So what right did he have to demand his dad to re-marry his mom to simply satisfy her wants and needs, when in the end it's not what his dad wants, what his dad needs.

"And Bra…"

Just in the fashion he had said her name, it spoke volumes; as he sat there, watching the way his dad's eyes glazed over with emotions that he was too young to understand completely, told him everything he wanted to know.

Goku gave his son a tiny smile, one that even Gohan couldn't help but return. I don't know how, but I will find a way to defeat Cell myself.

"She's…she's something else..."

A/N: So a few have asked me before to list the power levels of the characters and I had said I didn't want to as all those stupid numbers throw me off and also because after the Frieza saga the numbers start to get crazy long. So here is a little something I created as a substitute to power levels.

It works like this, I will be listing the character's names and next to it might be a decimal number. It's pretty much the same as Captain Space's, the creator of "Break Through the Limit", little system, except I'm adding decimals….wait I think he did that too…well then it's kinda sorta the same ^_^;

The whole number indicates the character's stage of power in regards to Super Saiyans. So if a character has a power of 1, then that is equivalent to the first stage of a Super Saiyan and if a character has a power of 2, then that is equivalent to a Super Saiyan 2. If a character has a decimal number, a character with merely a whole number won't be able to stand a chance against the person with the decimal number (of course if caught off guard, anything can happen). Yes I know you're all like 'duh, it's a higher number', but I just want you all to understand how much of a disadvantage a character can be against a decimal power level. If you happen to see an ^ sign, it just means that if there are others in the same list with the same power level, the one with the ^ is the strongest. As an example, I will share an altered version of a PM I sent to a reviewer of mine.

As stated before in previous chapters, I made everyone much more powerful than canon. Cell (Ivory one) is, while fighting Vegeta, as strong as canon Super Perfect Cell and Vegeta is at an early stage of SSJ2, not quite as strong as canon SSJ2 Gohan. Super Perfect is equal to a SSJ2 no? Maybe it's easier to say that Vegeta's max is just SSJ2, while Cell's max might be SSJ2.3. During the battle, Cell used 2.1, which was enough to wipe the floor with Vegeta. Remember that Vegeta refused to use his max in the beginning of the fight and when he decided to when firing off his Final Flash, he had already become weaker as not only had he been SSJ2 for a good part of the day, but he had suffered injuries during his fight with Perfect Cell.

Keep in mind that no one in the Cell saga will go pass 2.5, because once it passes 2.9, we are hopping into SSJ3 territory. Also, I won't even bother listing anyone below a 1 because they are practically useless (harsh much Gater?). If I confused you somehow, cause ya know I some time have wording issues…I think, then feel free to ask me questions in your reviews or just PM me.

Their power levels are as follows:

The Z Warriors

SSJ Goku (before Time Chamber) = 1.1

FPSSJ Goku = 1.7

SSJ2 Goku = 2 (Max is 2.1)

/

SSJ Gohan (before Time Chamber) = 1

SSJ2 Gohan = 2 (Max is 2.1, however because he can't remain transformed for long, using max would shorten his time.)

/

SSJ Vegeta = 1.2

SSJ2 Vegeta = 2 (Max is still 2)

/

SSJ Trunks = 1.1

FPSSJ Trunks = 1.7 (While bursting USSJ 1.8)

/

Piccolo (merged with Kami) = 1.5

/

SSJ Bra = 1.1

The Androids

(Ivory) Semi-Perfect Cell = 1.6 (after absorbing Tien 1.7)

(Ivory) Perfect Cell = 2 (while fighting Vegeta used 2.1)

/

Seventeen = 1.5

Eighteen = 1.4^

Sixteen =1.4

Thanks for reading! Have a wonderful morning, day, night, or whatever! I'll be posting whenever I can!

Later!
