A/N: Have I told you guys how awesome you are? ^_^;
Laughter, constant laughter flooded West City and all the half-Saiyan and Android could do is run as they stood no chance against the mini-Cells, the ivory creatures leaving destruction in their wake. Bra and Eighteen had been in a rather tight spot mere moments ago and if it wasn't for the Saiyan Princess' fast thinking they would have been goners. While in the midst of the evil juniors, the little beasts attacking in no particular pattern, Bra had hurriedly shot into the air and simultaneously let loose a solar flare and raised her power level as a call for help; she had made sure to conceal her ki signature like she did with the fight with Semi-Perfect Cell, thus remaining in her transformed state as she and the Android made a break for it to find a decent hiding place. Shaded by the shadows of an alleyway, they both stayed alert.
"Maybe we should get out of here."
Bra shook her head. "We can't just let those little bastards make the city their playground."
"If you haven't noticed, those things are way out of our league!" Eighteen said, tilting her head from behind the dumpster.
"Don't worry, I signaled for back-"
A radical gust of wind nearly blew the both of them off their feet, the dumpster not faring well as it went flying across the alleyway and into a building, shattering cleanly through its windows.
Bra's turquoise orbs locked with a similar pair, a look of astonishment appearing on her face when she felt a pair of strong hands grip both of her arms.
"Are you alright?!" Goku asked, panic-stricken, his eyes roaming her body to check for injuries.
"Y-yeah…" She whispered, her eyes breaking contact with the older Saiyan's.
"What's going on here?"
The half-Saiyan pried at his hands enough for him to get the hint to remove his hold on her.
"That." Eighteen answered as she pointed behind him.
Goku just barely had time to study the miniature Cell, much less dodge its attack as it came charging at him, the ascended Saiyan catching the fist tightly in a death grip.
"Careful Goku, they are super-"
Jerking the junior in, the Saiyan drove his fist right through its stomach, its eyes widening as it then exploded and scattered into the wind.
"-Strong…" Bra gawked in awe at Goku's strength.
Cell's Announcement
Seeing another of Cell's children rushing towards him from his peripheral vision, he vanished from sight, appeared behind it as he then tossed his clench hand through its back, causing it to become nothing more than dust. A third one came from above, a four from the side, but the Super Saiyan made quick work of them too by grabbing one by its arm and ripping the appendage right off before blasting it to pieces along with its brother. With a yellow ball of energy sizzling within his clutched fist, he turned, veered to the right and caught the surprise attack from a fifth junior, sending it to its grave by releasing the blast at point blank range. Goku's eyes narrowed as he twirled over a sixth one and let loose a golden blast of energy directly at its back, ending its life as a seventh one came from behind with its hands cupped to its hip, an orb of azure energy developing in its hands.
The junior giggled wickedly as he thrust his hands forward and fired the Kameha-wave, only to have the Saiyan bat it aside effortlessly as he advanced towards it, grabbed it by the throat before driving a hard knee to its stomach, causing it to explode just like all the others.
Then came the eight and the ninth and well Bra couldn't help but think that she was glad she had called for help because just one of those bastards would have killed her and Eighteen with no problem. It made her realize just how outclassed she was and if she was going to be of any help against Cell, she needed to become stronger. But to the Saiyan Princess, ascending to the next stage of Super Saiyan seemed like a pipe dream. She has been a regular Super Saiyan since she was fourteen and now at the age of twenty-three she was barely any stronger than she was upon her arrival to this time. That's freaking almost a decade!
Before her mind could dwell more on her lack of improvement in the power department, she came back into focus, her eyes watching the older Saiyan take on three juniors at once.
"How many so far?" she asked.
"Nineteen." The Android answered without skipping a beat.
"Wait…"
Bra jogged from the alleyway and out in the open, Eighteen staying closely behind. "Looks like the other guys have made their appearance."
"But why? Goku has it under control…oh…" the brunette's voiced trailed off when she saw the mayhem in front of her
The half Saiyan's orbs widened in disbelief as she witnessed three ivory creatures attacking the Saiyan Prince relentlessly. Her eyes then drifted to the left and locked on Goku's son, who was ruthlessly attacking two of the juniors, the blue electricity swirling around his body looking a bit unstable. Upon taking a closer look at Gohan, she had noticed that he wore a tense expression, his breathing labored as sweat slid down his forehead, his single long golden bang matted against it. The rest of the Z-Fighters were also present, however since they were no match for the Cell juniors, they instead chose to help by moving the citizens from the city, also saving those who were in danger from being crushed by wreckage.
A sudden loud yell rung through the female Saiyan's ears, making her turn sharply towards the direction it came from. She observed as Gohan released an Explosion Wave that obliterated four Cell juniors at once. Unfortunately, it then became obvious that the half-Saiyan couldn't keep himself together as a nasty spark of electricity sprung from within, a yelp escaping his lips as he dropped from his ascended state, his hair remaining yellow as he soared down from the sky. Bra made a break for it and was able to jump and catch the young Saiyan within her arms, returning to her base form as she could no longer hold her transformed state.
As soon as she landed, Gohan squirmed from her arms. "I'm fine."
Bra gave him a hurt look, however, it then morphed into a frown. "Jeez, I was just trying to help-"
"Well I don't need it. That-" Gohan ran a hand through his slacken bang. "That happens when I stay transformed for too long. While I couldn't fix this problem in the Time Chamber, I did practice on recovering from the fatigue I experience after dropping from my ascended form."
"Thirty minutes right?"
Gohan grimaced. "Sometimes less."
As Vegeta rammed his fist through the last junior he had been facing, he along with the others saw Goku rocketing through the sky and roughly slam onto the asphalt, leaving a trail of shattered concrete, his face contorted in pain as he rubbed his injured head.
"Sheesh, what could have done that to you dad? After all, they aren't that strong."
Goku shook his head and when he got rid of the dizziness, he responded. "I don't know…"
The culprit materialized into view in the form of another Cell junior, however, this one looked a little different. It was a few feet taller than all the others and also its skin color was that of the Perfect Android's second form, a deep dark purple.
"Well, if isn't the eldest of them all! My question is who the hell would be disgusting enough to breed with the Android!"
Without further delay, the Saiyan Prince blasted towards the junior, aiming to kill it just like the rest of the trash before it, but it was not meant to be as the Android caught his fist, gave it a twist which made him groan in pain before giving him a heavy hit to his face. Blood gushed from his now broken nose as the purple Android then gave him a fist to the stomach, making him wheeze breathlessly.
His hair faded back to its dark color, the Android not even bothering to watch the Prince plummet to the pavement as he instead chose to gaze at the Earth raised Saiyan.
Trunks managed to catch his father before he could touch the ground. To his shock, the full Saiyan wasn't unconscious, the Prince pushing away from his son in annoyance.
"The little bastard wanted me conscious."
Trunk looked stunned. "But why?"
His father clutched his fists in rage. "How the hell should I know."
Goku ascended to his feet, his sharp turquoise orbs never wavering from the junior's. "So it's me that you want?"
The Android answered with a mere smirk.
"Fine…" Goku spread his feet slightly apart as his golden aura sprung to life, blue volts of electricity licking against his body. His golden tail unwrapped itself from his waist, clearly as excited about the upcoming battle as Goku was.
Bra shuddered when she unexpectedly felt intoxicated with the thrill of battle, her tail uncurling from her waist as it seemed it had synced with that of the older Saiyan's. Oh wow…this feels…odd…like…this must be what Goku feels before entering a battle.
At that point a voice boomed from apparently out of the blue and the Cell junior dropped from his battle stance, causing Goku to raise his brow in confusion, his turquoise orbs searching for the source of the speaker.
The voice laughed, sending chills down the spines of those that recognized the owner of it.
"Good evening people of Earth! I interrupt this broadcast to bring you a special bulletin!"
The Z-Fighters were flabbergasted to see the Bio-Android pop up on every TV screen in the city, the largest one being on the tallest building. In some of the screens, the Warriors could see themselves mirroring their movements.
Piccolo in a flash saw the tiny beetle-like creatures humming around all of them. His eyes flashed red and the creature exploded…only to immediately be replaced by another. Gohan witnessed his former mentor's actions, but seeing that it didn't solve anything, he decided not to say anything.
"Man, that's Cell? He really looks like Frieza!" Yamcha said, recalling the Frost Demon's appearance from three years ago. He hadn't seen him on Namek since he wasn't there, being dead and all, but from the patches of ivory skin that remained intact when he had seen him on Earth, he knew that that must have been his original look as he doubted that the mechanical parts were natural.
"As it happens I come bearing marvelous news! For the individuals who were tired of carrying on with an existence of mediocracy, you will discover this most exciting!" Cell continued, a tiny grin of amusement gracing his lips.
"My name is Cell! Whether or not you're aware, you are familiar will me! If you have been following the news as of lately, you now have a face to put on the creature that has been stalking through cities, draining the bio-energy of hapless victims. I am the perfected form of said creature and well I thank you all for your generous donations! Don't worry about your lost ones as I assure you that they are truly grateful to be a part of greatness…well after they got over the whole dying part!" He let out a chuckle as he could practically picture the look of horror on everyone's faces.
"Anyhow moving on to the great news, as I have no doubt that I've likely gotten your attention! I would like to invite you all to come to a tournament which I will call the 'Cell Games'! It will be held at a vacant lot fifteen miles northwest of West City." Cell's face vanished and is replaced by a live feed of the arena in which the fights will be held, consisting of a polished white tiled floor with four pillars on each corner.
"As you can see, it'll be very much like the World Martial Arts Tournament, except it'll be me versus all of you! Oh! Actually, you have one other opponent and you must defeat him before I'll even think of accepting your challenge."
The image of the arena is switched to the smug looking offspring of Cell that Goku had been moments from battling. Some of the screens were broadcasting the brawl the Z-Warriors had with the smaller ivory juniors.
"Don't let his looks deceive you! He might be less than half my size but he is quite the powerhouse. As for my other children that were ruthlessly killed by the fighters you see on screen, they were mere prototypes! However, I strongly encourage you to take notes of the fight as this is what is to be expected when you step in the ring!" Cell paused briefly to let what he was saying sink in.
"The rules are the same. If you forfeit a match or any part of your body touches the ground outside the ring, you lose. If you happen to die because my son or I were unable to hold back our strength, you obviously lose, but I promise I'll try to not kill you…can't say much for Junior! He could be quite rebellious at times! Well, you know how children are right?"
Said son of Cell grinned evilly, sending everyone on edge.
"If all challengers happen to lose, then you can all consider yourselves and the whole planet screwed! I assure you this is no trick and that the power displayed on the screen is very real! So in closing, I strongly urge you to participate in the Cell Games, which will be held in five days from today! After all, you don't want to be the reason why the Earth becomes space dust do you?"
Just to show off his power, Cell hovered above his ring, extends a finger and pointed it at a faraway mountain. With a nasty smile, he fired off a Death Beam that totally annihilated it to pieces, the Z-Warriors feeling the vibration from the destruction as they were the closest to the Cell Games arena.
"I'll be waiting…" The Bio-Android laughed and then the broadcast stopped, returning to the regularly scheduled program.
"Peace out brah!" the unfamiliar voice of Junior caught the Z-Gang by surprise, having not heard him speak up until now.
They watched him take off towards the direction of his father, none of the gang choosing to follow as the only one that could probably stand a chance against him was Goku.
"Did…did he just say 'brah?" Krillin asked, his eyes rounded.
DBZDBZDBZDBZxxxxxxxxxDBZDBZDBZDBZ
The sun was setting by the time the Z-Fighters arrived back on the Lookout. Needless to say, the Bio-Androids surprise broadcasting had thrown them off, causing a gloomy feeling of despair to cloud their minds. Even Vegeta, who usually kept his emotion hidden, looked pensive.
No one protested when Eighteen joined the group, since she was of no threat to them any longer. Trunks at this point had completely gotten over his dislike of the brunette because this Android was absolutely nothing like the blonde one in his , she did have some of her counterpart's attitude, but it seemed to be more playful than bitchy. The evil blonde was most likely causing havoc while he was just standing and staring at the floor depressingly. It was times like these that his thoughts wandered off to his mother from his reality, an unsettling sense of worry taking over his mind as he feared for her well-being. But as always he shook it off, telling himself that his mother was a survivor and that if she was able to remain in the living while raising him by her lonesome for years, then she will be just fine without him.
"So what's our next move?" Krillin asked as he took a seat next to the brunette. He nearly jumped when he felt a warm slender hand grasp his when he placed it on the cool floor. He snuck a glance at the pretty Android, who seemed solely focused on the fading sun, but upon closer inspection, he caught a glimpse of a faint smile and he blushed slightly when her thumb gently traced the back of his hand.
Piccolo answered. "Well, I guess since everyone has taken a turn in the Time Chamber except Bra and me, we should go now. If the others that have gone want to go in for their last day, they can after we return."
Piccolo smirked when he saw the Saiyan Princess frown, most likely hating the thought of spending an entire year with him. "However, if someone else wants to volunteer to go in with Bra, say so now. To be honest, I probably wouldn't be the best partner for her. I might be stronger than her now, but I'm pretty sure within weeks she'll surpass me. She is a Saiyan after all. I'd prefer to go in by myself anyways."
"I…I'm definitely not going back in there. I could barely stand it…" Trunks stated.
"Like the Namek, I'd rather go alone for my second time." Vegeta said firmly.
They weren't surprised when Gohan said nothing, for obvious reasons. He seemed to have a distant look, staring at the stars shining in the darkening sky.
"I…I can go…if she wants me to." Goku nearly whispered, but everyone heard it.
It was on the tip of her tongue to refuse his offer, but when she saw the look of sorrow on his face, she just couldn't. Besides, what if there is more to what she heard him say before she took off earlier on? Kami knows that she's had her share of misunderstands in her life and well what if this was one of them? What if he went to talk to Chi-Chi for an entirely different reason? Like to merely apologize for his actions? If this indeed was the case, then she would have an entire year with the full Saiyan, to see where they stand and to work out their problems.
And if things weren't in her favor, well she would just have to become stronger than him to kick his ass until their time was up.
"Fine…you can come with me…"
Goku's jaw slackened with shock at her response, as he had expected her to reject his offer.
"No! Hell No!"
Goku's body was suddenly jerked forward, now face to face with the Saiyan Prince. "This third class clown is not going in there with my daughter for a whole year!"
It was there, close to him that he caught a whiff of his daughter's scent, which was laced with the Earth raised Saiyan's.
This boiled the Prince's blood to no end.
Vegeta sneered with unadulterated rage as he rammed a hard fist directly onto the Saiyan's face, sending him hurling across the Lookout. The enraged Prince's aura flared gold as he came from above when Goku landed on his feet, his fist connecting with the floor and missing the full Saiyan as he had leaped out of harm's way in the nick of time.
"Dad stop!" Bra cried out as she watched her father tackle Goku to the ground and proceed to beat the living hell out of his face. The Saiyan didn't seem to want to fight back, probably because he felt like he deserved it
This pissed her off.
Vegeta was stunned when a small fist slammed onto the side of his head, hurling him right off the full Saiyan, who looked utterly trash with his face blotched up and smeared with his own blood. The Saiyan Princess stared down at the Prince, an expression that mimicked Bulma's so much that he almost shook. Wait, since when does the Woman scare me? I have grown soft here! He mentally scolded himself.
"I said stop. You don't have a say in this!" She spat as she then faced Dende, who was shaking in fear. "Dende, please heal him. I don't want him going in like that."
Dende nodded and did what he was asked.
As Bra began to walk from Vegeta, he grabbed her by the shoulder and forcefully turned her towards him.
"When were you going to tell me that you were fooling around with this clown?" He yelled, a finger pointing at said 'clown', who was being tended by the small Namekian.
"I wasn't, because like I said, it's none of your business!" She shouted back, ripping his hand off her shoulder.
"The hell it isn't! I will NOT allow this third class to taint the last of the royal bloodline!"
The Princess snorted with amusement. "Pfft, if you haven't noticed, it already has been. Last I knew, Trunks nor I are full Saiyans! Goku is at least a full blooded Saiyan, so if anything, our children would be more Saiyan than the half-Saiyans that exist now!"
Goku whitened at the thought of having another child and Gohan frowned, as he didn't like the idea of his brother or sister having a mother other than his own.
This made Vegeta even more furious. "I won't allow him to sully you any longer! Not while I'm alive! Even if I have to kill him! I've wanted him dead for years, now seems like the perfect time!" He said and as he started to head over to clobber the Saiyan once more, his daughter put a stop to that by swinging him around and delivering a second fist, this time at his jaw, causing his head to snap to the side.
"If I want him to screw me and have lots of babies with him, then I will let him! The hell with what you say!"
Goku just about fainted after hearing that. Sheesh, I think I'd rather have Vegeta pummel me again than hear any more of this!
While Gohan tried to desperately thrust the unwanted images that would most likely scar him for life, Trunks feeling the same way, the rest of the Z-Warriors except for Piccolo gawked at how Bra was standing up to Vegeta. Sure she is his daughter, but she had punched him twice and well the fact that the Prince hasn't struck back is rather shocking. They knew that he would most likely never hit Bulma because she was human, but the half-Saiyan obviously can take a punch from him.
"I said no! I am your father, so you will listen to me!"
"Well to bad, because guess what? You're not my father! Mine is dead!" Bra instantly regretted what she said when she actually saw Vegeta faintly flinch, almost as if she had struck him a third time.
"Dad, I didn't-"
"Heh, you're right, I'm not." He said too quietly and then without another word took off before Bra could get ahold of him.
"Fuck!" She swore loudly, her eyes watering with tears of anger, anger that was aimed at herself.
"I'm sorry."
Bra wiped the cascading tears from her eyes with the back of her hand before she dared to look at Goku, who looked remorseful. He probably believed he was the worst person ever when in reality, it was all her fault. It has been since the moment she had arrived here. Now she had to add Vegeta to the list of people who hated her.
"Let's go to your mother's house to grab the gear we need. Besides, she told me she wanted to talk to you before you went in the Time Chamber."
Bra sighed and nodded as Goku then clasped his hand on her shoulder; then they were gone.
"Well, I'm just glad I wasn't the one to tell Vegeta that Goku was banging his daughter."
"Yamcha." Krillin said.
"Yeah?"
"Shut up."
A/N: I had like a quarter of this chapter done for a month, but I just managed to get it all done today. Please let me if you can spot any mistakes. The last chapter was ridiculous, having typos left and right and I'm sorry for that. I did only read it once, like this one, HOWEVER, I took a little more time than normally to minimize the amount of errors. I did edit the previous one the following day after the post date.
1. A lot of Cell's speech was taken from the Kai version of DBZ, but I obviously switched it up a bit and added things here and there.
2. Bra and Vegeta's argument did not go as I envisioned, but I think it turned out rather well.
3. I originally had planned for Goku to fight Junior (yes, that's what his name will be), but then I changed my mind, instead choosing to have them fight at the Cell Games.
4. I had made the Cell Games start in 5 days instead of 10 because I thought that was too damned long. Hell, I think I should have made it even shorter!
5. Next chapter will finally have Goku/Bra inside the Time Chamber, so you'll hopefully get some fluff moments.
6. I hope I don't take over a month for the next update, but I make no promises.
7. Thanks for reading!
Until next time!
Later!
