Me: Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you have a wonderful one!
Well, my right arm is sort of back to normal, but not as much. There's a limit on how long I can type and write now, so sorry. But I would like to thank all of you for supporting me and wishing me well. And don't worry, I'm virus free…minus my allergies as normal.
Well, shall we get going? I know you guys have been waiting for quite some time for this update and I hope you all enjoy it.
-Berk, Dragon training area-
"I'm really sorry, Hiccup. If I'd listen to Otieno, this wouldn't be happening," said Heather.
"It's not really your fault. You were in a lot of pressure. You just want to save your parents, right Astrid?" said Hiccup while Fishlegs and Snotlout were training.
Astrid simply crossed her arms and turned her head to the left.
"Thank you. And Astrid, I'm…"
"Forget it," interrupted the blond Viking as Meatlug fired at Snotlout who barely dodged out of the way. She jumped onto her dragon, "So, what's the game plan?"
"Hey! Cut it out!" snapped Snotlout.
"Quit whining, Snotlout!" mocked Fishlegs.
Hiccup sighed, "Enough. Remember, the Outcast are not gonna be coming one at a time."
"You don't need to remind me. We're under enough stress," said Fishlegs.
"We only have one shot at getting the Book of Dragons and saving Heather and Otieno's parents," said Hiccup, ignoring Fishlegs comment.
"Um, did I not make myself clear about the stress…" said Fishlegs.
"While you guys distract the Outcasts, I'll go get my parents," said Otieno as Astrid, the twins and Snotlout were practicing their combo attack but didn't start off that well.
Hookfang got mad and set himself on fire.
"Can you calm him down?" said Astrid.
"Fine, whatever," said Snotlout before grabbing Hookfang's horns, pinning him to the ground. He grinned, "Figured that one out yesterday. He likes it!"
"Wait, Wait, Wait," said Fishlegs as he jumped off from his dragon. "He likes his horns bent to the ground?" he asked as the others gathered around Snotlout.
Snotlout just shrugged.
Ruffnut snorted, "Tuffnut does."
"I do?" said Tuffnut, confused before his sister pinned him down. "Oh, yeah...that does feel kinda nice. The dirt's soft…"
Otieno leaned over at Hiccup, "Seriously, what's wrong with him?"
Hiccup sighed, "Just ignore them. That's how they are."
"Can we get on with it?! There could be a whole army coming at us!" snapped Astrid.
"Well? We're waiting! Hit it!" said Snotlout as he signaled Hookfang to fire.
"Spines, Stormfly!" ordered Astrid. Her dragon swings her tail and the spines went through the fire. The fire spines hit the stone wall and Tuffnut's helmet.
"Eh, I kinda like that too. Make a note," said Tuffnut to his twin.
"Good work, guys," said Hiccup.
"You know all this training is nice once we have the book. But how are we going to get back the book? Alvin's not just gonna hand it over to us," said Fishlegs.
"No, but he'll hand it to Heather," said Otieno. Everyone gave him a strange look.
-Outcast Island-
"What's that on your helmet?" asked Alvin.
"Lava. Gronckle chapter," replied Savage, handing him the book. "You might wanna read it."
"Hm. Well, this is all very interesting," said Alvin, looking over at the book. "I'll have to see it to believe it. Where's those brats?"
"I believe the boy betrayed us. It was the girl who drop off the book before getting captured," replied Savage.
"How unfortunate for them. But hey, let's give this a try, shall we?" said Alvin, heading off to their dragon arena.
-Berk shores, night-
"T-This is gonna work, right?" asked Fishlegs, nervously. "Cause if it doesn't, Alvin's gonna know all of our dragons secrets. And if Alvin knows all of our dragons secrets…"
"Fishlegs!" shouted Hiccup and Otieno.
"It's gonna work," assured Otieno.
"Alvin's not smart enough to understand the book in one day, let alone gain a dragon's trust," said Hiccup.
"Hey, so how do I look? Heather enough?" asked Astrid. Everyone were amazed how she looked just like Heather.
Otieno smirked, "Heather enough? You can be mistaken as twins."
Astrid and Heather smirked before Astrid walked to the boat.
"Okay, that's just creepy," murmured Fishlegs.
"You sure about this?" asked Hiccup, standing next to Astrid.
"It's our only chance. We don't know how long Alvin's going to keep Otieno and Heather's parents alive," replied Astrid.
"We'll be shadowing you from the sky," said Hiccup as Astrid jumped into the boat.
"I don't need shadowing," stated Astrid, slightly upset.
"Just in case," said Hiccup, rubbing his head. "You know...it'll make me feel better."
"Fine, just stay out of sight," said Astrid, blushing a bit. "If Alvin sees you, it'll all be over."
"Don't worry about us. Just get the book while Otieno and Heather rescue their parents and get out of there. We'll be waiting," said Hiccup, biting his lip. "Hey, Astrid? Be safe…"
Astrid nodded before sailing off to Outcast Island. Hiccup watched before feeling a hand on his shoulder. He jumped a bit before turning around to see Otieno smirking at him.
On Outcast Island, Astrid jumped off from the boat and was slightly surprised to see Savage and some of Alvin's men on shore.
"Ah, Heather, we thought you'd been captured," said Savage. "And…your brother?"
"I got away…without my brother's help," lied Astrid. "He doesn't trust Alvin anymore and is all thanks to Hiccup. He didn't want to get the book anymore…"
"I see," said Savage, rubbing his chin. "Well, it's good to see you safe and sound – get rid of her."
"What?!" shouted Astrid as some Outcasts were surrounding her. "Wh – What about my parents?! Besides – Besides, you do need me! You have the book, right? I've watched and learned from them. Trust me, that book is only worth something if you know how to use it."
Savage gave her a look, "…fine, follow us."
Meanwhile, not too far, Hiccup and the others were flying to Outcast Island, but once again Fishlegs was having second doubts. Otieno and Heather were using Astrid's Deadly Nadder.
"I wanna go on record as saying I'm not so sure about this plan, Hiccup," said Fishlegs.
"Well, if you have another brilliant plan, I'm open," said Hiccup.
"Um…well…I just think landing in a wild dragon nesting ground is really going to freak Meatlug out," said Fishlegs.
"Really? Well, how does she feel about flaming arrows and catapults?" said Otieno.
"Uh…yeah, she really doesn't like those either," said Fishlegs.
"How about this Fishlegs, when we get there, you just lay back, and let the real dragons do the work," said Snotlout, smugly.
"Yeah…you really have no idea what a swarm of angry wild dragons are capable of," whispered Fishlegs while Otieno snorted.
"You know what would be awesome?" said Tuffnut.
"Flaming arrows... Catapults..." Ruffnut replied.
"And wild dragons!" said both.
"Seriously, did they hit their heads when they were younger," whispered Otieno while Heather shrugged her shoulders.
Back with Astrid; she, Alvin and some of his men were inside the dragon arena. Alvin was looking over the book again, "Seems pretty straightforward to me."
Astrid rolled her eyes, "It's anything but straightforward, Alvin.".
"Oh," said Alvin, eyeing her carefully. "If there's one thing I've learned, it's that people will say anything to keep themselves…alive. Isn't that right, Savage?"
"Right! A-As usual, Alvin."
"See? Now you say I need you to interpret what's in this book, to use it properly. I say it's nothing but a ploy," said Alvin, unconvinced.
"Fine, give it a try," challenged Astrid.
"Well?! You heard the girl," snapped Alvin, throwing the book to one of his men.
"Right…uh, seems easy enough," said the Outcast, looking over the book, "Uh…what kinda dragon is this?"
"It's a Deadly Nadder. You need the page number?" replied Astrid.
"Uh…nope, nope, nope, right here," said the Outcast as he found the page. "Let's see…Deadly Nadder: likes to preen, very sure of itself…uh…constant grooming…hmm, alright, we'll appeal to its vanity."
Astrid simply rolled her eyes and crossed her arms as she watches the Outcast walk towards the spike dragon.
"Well, you…uh, certainly are a lovely girl. O-Or are you a handsome boy?" said the Outcast before looking uncertain. "Wh-Who can tell?"
The Nadder wasn't satisfied and was prepared to attack the Outcast. With a quick dash, Astrid grabbed a shield and protected the Outcast from being shot with deadly spines.
Astrid smirked, "Like I said. The book can only get you so far, Alvin."
Back with the others, they were almost to the island when several unfamiliar dragons appear.
"Um, Hiccup? Otieno?" said Fishlegs, nervously.
"Guys stick to the plan! No matter how crazy it gets," said Hiccup.
"Crazy? I love crazy! Bring it!" shouted Snotlout before frowning. "Wait! What's the plan again?"
The wild dragons get ready to attack Hiccup and his friends when the teens and their dragons pulled up, flying about them with baskets full of fish they were carrying.
"Now!" said Otieno as a bunch of fish were coming out from the baskets. The wild dragons attention was instead on the fishes, ignoring Hiccup and the others.
"Awesome," said Fishlegs.
"Yes, we did it! Stupid dragons!" said Snotlout, holding a fish.
"Um, Snotlout…I don't think…" started Heather.
Suddenly, a Nadder tries to take the fish from Snotlout's hand, causing him to get grabbed by the dragon. However, Snotlout wouldn't let go of the fish which caused the Nadder to try to get rid of him.
"Would you just let go of that stupid fish?!" snapped Otieno.
"No! That's my lunch!" argued Snotlout.
"Snotlout!" warned Hiccup.
"Fine!" said Snotlout, letting go of his lunch. He lands behind Hiccup and all of them flew closer to Outcast Island.
Meanwhile, Astrid was shoved into the middle of the arena by Savage. That's when Astrid stretched out her hand to Alvin.
"What is it?"
"The book. I need it," said Astrid, however Alvin was looking at her suspiciously. "What? I didn't memorize it."
Alvin nodded and had the Outcast toss her the book as two other Outcasts opened another gate that has another dragon inside. Alvin and the others went out from the arena, closing the gate.
"Please be a Nadder, please be a Nadder, please be a Nadder, please be a Nadder," whispered Astrid, but it wasn't. It was a Monstrous Nightmare. "Ugh, great."
"Well? I'm waiting," said Alvin.
"Right, big boy. It's just you and me," whispered Astrid and started on how to deal with a Monstrous Nightmare, both gently and aggressive approach but both failed.
"Little Heather is feistier than I remember," murmured Alvin before chuckling, "This isn't anything my soldiers haven't already tried. You'll need to do better!"
"Ugh! The one time I wish Snotlout was here – wait, that's it!" said Astrid. She dashed forward to the dragon's head, but she was slammed on the stone wall.
"Well, that's the end of that," said Alvin.
"Wait! Look again," said Savage.
Alvin looked back at the arena to see 'Heather' was using her feet to push the dragon's head away then grabbed the horns and pushed them down as hard as she can. The Monstrous Nightmare went down to the ground and was calm around her.
"What?! Oh, ho!" said Alvin. "I told you she knew what she was doing!"
"Ah, yes…you certainly did," murmured Savage.
Astrid took a big relief, silently thanking Snotlout for finding out that small detail with his dragon partner. She then sat down on the Monstrous Nightmare with the book on hand and was about to fly out when Alvin stopped her.
"Going somewhere, Heather…without your parents?" said Alvin. "I can just kill 'em after you left them behind unless…you give me back the book."
Suddenly, an Outcast came running over to Alvin.
"Sir, the girl and boy's parents have escaped!"
"What?! How's that possible?" snapped Alvin.
'Good, time to get out of here,' thought Astrid. She smirked, "Well, love to stay and chit-chat, but I overstayed my welcome – let's go boy!"
"Don't just stand there! Follow her!" ordered Alvin. "Take her out! Do something! She's not leaving this place with that book!"
Astrid flew out by triggering the dragon to use it's flames to burn the wooden cage. As she got out, she spotted Heather and Otieno with two people running away from a few dead trees.
She flew down next to them, "Need a lift?"
"Astrid, did you get the book?" said Otieno.
"And…who's your um…friend?" asked Heather.
"Yes, and someone that help me," said Astrid before spotting Hiccup. She landed next to him, "Let's go. We're done here."
Hiccup nodded then addressed his attention to the parents. "We don't have much time to explain, but once we are off from this…"
"Oi! No, you don't!" shouted Alvin as several Outcasts surrounded them. He chuckled, "Bet you're surprised to see me, Hiccup. Otieno…good to see you too…and two Heathers?!"
Otieno simply glared while Heather and Astrid giggled, knowing that they fooled the Outcast leader.
"Eh, no, not really. This is where you live, right?" said Hiccup as Toothless growled. The auburn teen patted his partners head, "Easy, bud. Look like he's got us…this time."
"You know, Hiccup, with that book, your knowledge of dragons, and my knowledge of warfare, we could make quite the team," said Alvin. "How's that sound?"
"Uh, let's see…insane? Demented? Delusional? Stupid?" replied Hiccup, making Otieno smirk.
"Alright then, we'll just have to agree to disagree," said Alvin. "You're a smart boy, Hiccup. You know I can't let you leave the island."
"And you're a smart, murderous, barbarian, Alvin," stated Hiccup. "You know I have a better plan then this."
"So, do I," said Alvin.
"Now!" both shouted.
Fishlegs, the twins and Snotlout flew out from their hiding spots and attacked the Outcasts. At first it was according to plan but then the Outcasts were getting the upper hand.
Meatlug and Fishlegs were trapped in a net thrown over them, the Outcasts managed to rope around the Zippleback's neck and pinned the heads to the ground causing the twins to fall from to the ground.
The Outcasts continue to close in on Hiccup and Toothless who fired three Outcasts but they used their shields to protect themselves.
Otieno knocked an Outcast aside and took his shield while Astrid used another stolen shield as a weapon. Heather, however, sneak behind to a boulder where they hide Stormfly.
"There's too many of them!" shouted Snotlout as Hiccup dodged a couple of arrows.
"We have to find some way to get – Stormfly?! Heather?!" said Astrid, spotting her dragon flying around them with Heather on board.
The net covering Fishlegs and Meatlug were ripped off and a jet of fire destroyed the rope tying down Barf and Belch.
Heather landed next to Astrid, "Let's get out of here!"
Astrid nodded and gets on Stormfly while Otieno jumped on the Monstrous Nightmare. Their parents were surrounded by some Outcasts when Stormfly swoops in and grabs them.
"Mom, Dad, hang on!" shouted Heather.
"Right, just like we practiced guys!" shouted Hiccup. "Ruffnut, cover fire!"
"It's about time!" said Ruffnut as the twins dive down and Barf covers the catapults with gas.
"Love this part! Wait for it…" said Tuffnut, yanking onto Belch's horns. Belch sparks the gas and it explodes.
Another catapult launches a boulder at Hiccup, but the auburn teen moves out of the way, putting Meatlug and Fishlegs in its path.
"Fishlegs! Incoming!" warned Hiccup.
"Woah! Nice catch girl!" said Fishlegs as Meatlug catches the boulder and devours it. "Lava blast!" he shouted. Meatlug fires the lava blast at the catapult and it gets destroyed and the Outcasts run away. "That's it Meatlug!" praised Fishlegs.
"Brilliant!" said Otieno.
"Let's go Snotlout!" said Astrid.
Snotlout gave a signal to Hookfang to light up his flames. The Monstrous Nightmare flies over the Outcasts and Stormfly sends her tail spines through the flames, causing the incoming flame shots to the Outcasts who abandon their posts for their own safety.
"Yee-haw! You feelin' the heat, boys? 'Cuz I sure am!" said Snotlout.
"Great job, guys. Let's go," said Hiccup, flying away from the burning forest. The others nodded and followed Hiccup, while the Monstrous Nightmare was flying next to Stormfly.
"Whatever you did Astrid, this big guy likes yea," said Otieno.
"I hate to admit it, but it was thanks to Snotlout," murmured Astrid before glaring at him. "You better not tell him that, or you're going to regret it."
Otieno simply whistled while Heather giggled.
"They're getting away!" shouted Alvin, angrily before looking at the last catapult. He lifts up Savage and throw him into it, "Stop them!"
"Wait! Shouldn't we test this first?" said Savage, nervously. However, Alvin hits the lever of the catapult and Savage went flying and screaming.
"Oh, no you don't – come boy! Give them a little payback!" said Otieno. The Monstrous Nightmare grinned and fired a couple fireballs to the incoming Outcast. Savage was getting close to Stormfly when the fireball hit him, causing him to fall into the forest.
Alvin watched Hiccup and the others fly away including the book and the boy. He clenched his fist, "Did yea see that? That dragon – from the arena – he protected and listened to them!"
"Well…that dragon did bond with the girl, first," stated Savage, scratching his cheek. "We need to get that book back, Alvin!"
Alvin smirked, "Oh, we need more than that book – we need that boy."
-Berk Harbor, sunset-
"We can't thank you enough. Especially you, Astrid," said Heather, happily. She hugged the blond Viking, "You put your life on the line for us. I – We'll never forget that."
"Yea, thanks a bunch. Gonna miss yea as I had fun in your workspace, Hiccup," said Otieno.
"Eh, who knows. Maybe we'll see each other again sometime," said Hiccup.
Otieno and Heather nodded, "Maybe we will."
"Just…promise me one thing," said Hiccup as Otieno and Heather nodded. "If you need any help again, you'll ask with the truth."
Heather blushed while Otieno laughed.
"No prob, bro. And thanks again. Let's sail off Heather."
Otieno helped board Heather onto the boat with their parents and all of them sailed away from Berk. That's when Snotlout gestured Heather to write back, but Otieno wouldn't have it and simply glared at him, throwing a wooden spear at his direction.
Snotlout dodged and smiled sheepishly, "Aww, I think he's starting to like me. I might have a chance with Heather."
Hiccup and Astrid rolled their eyes before they headed back to their homes.
