Arc 1: Standard Dimension: The One Who Bears The Mark Of Fate
A fourteen-year-old girl was asleep in her bed. She had green waist-length hair and green eyes. Her eyebrow was furrowed as she started to breathe slowly in her sleep. Unbeknownst to her, a strange green outline symbol was a glowing green light on her left lower arm.

The girl saw herself alone in a fog. She tried to walk around to see where she was, but after endless hours of walking around. She sighed in frustration. No matter how many times she walked away from her original spot, she always ended up in the same place when she got here that she wasn't going anywhere at this rate.
She hoped she could wake up from this strange place and find herself in her room again on her bed.
But then.
Through the thick fog, there was a light on the other side. The green-haired girl ran towards the light, hoping it was the exit. But unfortunately, it seems she stumbled onto something else.
She looked around and found herself in a ruined place where the buildings were destroyed, and the streets had holes in them. She took a step back when she walked into what it seems to be a dead body. The body was charred and bruised badly. It appears whatever killed this person didn't show any mercy in the slightest.
She turned away and looked somewhere else, holding the urge to throw up back down. She forced herself to forget the sight and continued her path.
She glanced around, finding more bodies in a similar state as the one she found before. The girl closed her eyes shut and wished from the bottom of her heart that somehow the badly burned bodies were still alive.
The girl continued walking around until she heard yelling from the top of a building. There was a gigantic black dragon with glowing red eyes.
Without even thinking, she ran to where the dragon was. Twenty minutes later, she arrived at the top and noticed a long purple-haired woman standing across from the dragon.
A gray-haired male stood on top of the dark dragon from a closer look. He was an insane gleam in his eyes.
She noticed a long maroon and dark red hair tied in what seemed to be light turquoise hair clips from the corner of her eyes. The dual-colored woman was hiding behind a rock. To the girl, it seems the woman was paying attention to the conversation in front of them.
The green-haired girl turned her attention toward the conversation and listened to the purple-haired woman's words.
"Stop this, Z***!" The purple-haired woman yelled at the gray and light green highlights-haired man.
"S***, how long has it been since the last time I've seen you" the dual-colored hair man recalled chuckling as the purple-haired woman glared at him.
"It's truly been a while since I saw you. S***, do you want to join me and become my queen? And rule over this pathetic world."
For a brief moment, the green-haired girl saw a sad expression across the woman's face before replacing it with one filled with faux anger.
"No, Z***! I will stop you for the sake of everyone that has been feared, hurt, and killed by you," the purple-haired woman said. Her words made the man laugh even harder. The gleam in his eyes intensifies even more than usual. The insane look brought shivers down the young girl's back. She had a bad feeling that this encounter would end horribly.
"For the sake of everyone!" The male repeated, holding his stomach.
"You mean the same people that turned me into this! I was only fulfilling their wishes! They wanted to see more brutal duels! They wanted me to win! I was only answering their wishes!"
The male reached his hands towards the darkening skies trying to grasp something in his hands.
"I did, S***! By reaching the top of the world with my Deck! I even fulfill the promise we made!"
The male looked down at the woman, who tensed up at the deranged look directed at her.
"Where is my reward for reaching the top?! By fulfilling the promise, we've made! Where is it, S***!" The man roared, and so did his dragon. Shockwaves shook the area, nearly causing the buildings to collapse from the vibrations of the roar.
The woman was unfazed by this intimidating action.
"Your reward is me. You said it yourself, didn't you? You wanted a strong opponent to push you to your limits in a duel. You want a fierce duel. Let's duel Z***," The woman recalled. Suddenly the man laughed even harder than before. He chuckled darkly but still managed to retain his composure.
"I don't think even you can defeat me when I'm at my full power. But very well, I will entertain you, S***."
The gray and light green-haired man said, activating his duel disk.
The young girl glanced at the woman. All the woman's emotions were wiped clean off her face as she activated her duel disk in retaliation. But the girl somewhat knows that it was just a mask to cover what she was truly feeling. She was upset she had to fight the man in front of her. But she had no choice, or there would be more tragedies like those she witnessed.
The scene played out as five bright lights blinded nearly everyone in the area. It was revealed from the light source that the maroon and dark red-haired woman had four huge cards in the air as each card started to glow with colors of pink, blue, green, and yellow. The purple-haired woman raised her left arm, and a strange symbol on her forearm started to emit a bright purple light from the strange symbol.
The birthmark started to glow even brighter. It enveloped the woman's whole body as the four cards began to surround the maroon and red hair woman. Eventually, the lights combined and glowed even brighter as the gray-haired man was in pain.
"Unforgivable! You guys are unforgivable! Especially you, S***!" The man roared in anger as he felt surging pain throughout his body. But before he was split due to this immense pain, he felt he roared out his last words.
"WE WILL BECOME ONE AGAIN!" The gray-haired man declared. Suddenly there was a bright light in the area as the worlds were split.
The scene disappears, and the girl is in the same place before. However, this time the same purple-haired woman from before appeared in front of her.
"You saw what happened," the woman acknowledged the young girl. "Do you want that to happen to you and your loved ones, Naomi Kobiyashi?"
The young girl who was revealed to be Naomi shook her head furiously.
"I-I don't," Naomi answered. She felt saddened by what had just occurred in front of her eyes moments ago.
She felt uncomfortable because she had to witness those charred and bruised bodies on the street of the ruined city. She felt sick to her stomach by the insane look the man had earlier.
Although she had different emotions running through her body, Naomi felt one preventing her from doing so.
Fear.
She was afraid of something like that would happen again. Everyone she cares about will be either hurt or killed by that thing. Without realizing she was trembling immensely.
"Have you heard of the quote before?" the woman brought up a quote she heard when she was around the same age as Naomi.
"'F-E-A-R has two meanings. "Forget Everything and Run" or "Face Everything and Rise". So, what will it be? Will you run away, or will you stand up and fight against destiny?"
"If you keep letting fear control your life, then how can you say you are truly alive" the woman continued. And strange enough, they were enough to stop Naomi from shaking.
She was reminded of when her friend's father said the same thing to her and her friends countless times whenever they felt scared.
"If you curl up because of fear, you won't be able to do anything. If you want to win, bring out your courage and step forward!"
The woman's lips curved into a grin. Although Naomi couldn't see the rest of her face, she could tell that the woman had a warm gleam in her eyes, unlike the one the man had from before.
Naomi took a deep breath and nodded. She will face this challenge head-on despite not knowing what's ahead of her. She refused to run away and pretended that she doesn't note the impending danger. She will fight for her friends and family.
"Yes. I will face this fight head-on," Naomi responded, and that's all the woman needed to hear but first.
She snapped her fingers, and then the two of them were in a stadium where there wasn't a single person in sight.
The stadium surrounding them had a futuristic atmosphere as the technology of the palace was even more advanced than the ones back in her city.
"You passed the first test," the woman announced, "I wanted to see how strong your mind is if I showed you that particular memory even though you reacted the same as I expected. You still dared to choose to face this challenge head-on. Impressive Naomi Kobiyashi."
"Although you went through some hard times in the past, I was concerned will you be able to handle it, but it seems like I was wrong," the woman noted.
"How do you know my name? Who are you?" Naomi questioned. This was the second time the woman said her full name. Does she know her? And most importantly, who was this woman anyway? Naomi felt curious about why someone knows her name, but she doesn't know hers.
"That's irrelevant! Here's the second test," The woman shouted, snapping her fingers again. The pair had duel disks strapped to their right wrists. What surprised Naomi was that even the design was just like the stadium's structure.
"This test is to see if you are ready to face the incoming dangers that will destroy the world," the older woman announced.
"It was all because of a dueling...no a promise between two people who wanted to reach the top that caused the world to be destroyed."
The solemn look returned, and tears pricked from the woman's eyes before she wiped them. "Now, we will duel using the same method. Are you ready, Naomi Kobiyashi?"
The young girl nodded before getting into a dueling stance. The woman found herself performing the same action.

Turn 1

The woman picked a card out of her hand. "I activate the Continuous Spell Card 'Dimension Save and Destruction' I draw a card, and I can either banish it or send it to the Graveyard. I choose to banish Nemesis Keystone."
She sent a card to another world and proceeded with her turn. "I activate Paradox Girl's effect. I can Special Summon her through her effect. When I do, I can send a Dimension Spell Card from my Deck to my Graveyard."
The woman added a second copy of the same card she sent through Paradox Girl's effect.
Speaking of the monster, she had white and black hair wearing purple traveling attire. She had white eyes and a backpack on.
Dark/Level 5/Spellcaster/Effect/ATK 1500/DEF 2500
"Next, I discard Metaphys Nephthys to Special Summon Dimension Priest."
Arriving on the field was a male whose color was very similar to Paradox Girl however, his attire was white clothes with galaxy designs. He wields a staff in his hands.
Wind/Level 5/Spellcaster/Effect/ATK 2500/DEF 1500
"When Priest is Special Summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 5 or lower Dimension Monster from my hand. I choose to bring out Dimension Flame!"
The woman summoned another monster, but this time, a red-haired girl wearing white clothing with flames printed symbols on them. She wielded nothing in her hands and jumped next to Priest, who ignored her presence. Much to the girl's dismay.
Fire/Level 4/Spellcaster/Effect/ATK 1600/DEF 1600
"However, her ATK and DEF will become 0. Next, I fuse Priest and Flame." The woman revealed her monsters fused in a vortex.
"She already summoned three monsters to her field and didn't even use her normal summon, but now she can Fusion Summon?!" Naomi exclaimed, showing she was surprised by the move and impressed by the woman's skills.
"Monsters of the endless knowledge. Become one with the endless flame and create a new realm. Fusion Summon. Guide this eternal void to the scorching heavens, Level 7! Agneya the Fire Priestess!"
A woman with hot pink hair and red eyes wore a white dress with a red slash as the galaxy symbol in the middle. She had red marks on her legs and arms as she wielded a pair of fans in her hands.
Fire/Level 7/Spellcaster/Fusion/Effect/ATK 2100/DEF 2300
"Now I activate a copy of the Spell Card Burial of Dimension that I've sent to the Graveyard via Paradox Girl's effect. I send the first 10 cards from my Deck to the Graveyard. Then I can draw two cards for each Spell Card sent by this effect" the woman searched in her Graveyard Slot and saw there were monsters and traps cards, but there were two spell cards. So, therefore, she drew four cards, replenishing her starting hand.
"I place three cards face-down and end my turn. Now come at me, Naomi Kobiyashi," the woman finished her turn. Naomi narrowed her eyes at the three face-downs on the woman's field.
Not only does she have two monsters whose ATK is 2100 and DEF is 2500, but she had a back-row of set cards. Naomi can't be reckless with her moves this turn, especially since she didn't have a good starting hand. Regardless she will trust her monster's judgment.
Turn 2
"Then it's my turn!" Naomi announced, drawing her card. "I activate the Continuous Spell Card 'Backup Squad' whenever I take 1000 or more damage either by battle or by a card effect: I can draw one card. Next, I summon Volley Cupit in Defense Position."
A green-haired girl with her hair down had a bow in her hands as she crouched on the field.
Light/Level 1/Fairy/Effect/ATK 600/DEF 600
"Then I activate the Continuous Spell Card 'Court of Justice' to Special Summon Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin since I control a Level 1 Fairy-Type Monster," Naomi explained her new blue-colored Neo-Parshath monster arrived at the field.
Light/Level 7/Fairy/Effect/ATK 2300/DEF 2000
Neo-Parshath moved in front of Naomi, protecting her when the monster saw the opponent they were facing. This woman felt extremely powerful. Naomi agreed with her monster as she was more on her guard after seeing her monster's actions.
"I don't know Agneya's effect, so I'm not going to declare an attack this turn," Naomi observed quietly. She took two cards in her hands and set them in her Spell and Trap Zone.
"With this, I end my turn." She concluded her turn with two set cards. The woman narrowed her eyes at Naomi's action. Although the girl does not know her monster's effect and her set cards. It was smart not to attack recklessly, but Naomi left herself wide open for her to strike her with all of her power.
After all, she will not show any mercy. She wants Naomi to become stronger to face the incoming dangers...And not just her.
Them as well.
She needed them to improve their skills, or else they will be in some serious trouble.
"Naomi. I'm ending this duel now," the woman declared as she drew her card. Naomi felt nervous by the declaration, hoping the woman was bluffing, but her instincts told her she wasn't.
She was 100% serious about ending this duel on her turn.
Turn 3
H:4-5
"Because of Dimension Save and Destruction, I draw one card and banish it. Now I activate Dimension Goddess' effect from my Graveyard. Through her effect, she is Special Summon" the woman called out a monster in a portal.
The monster had long white hair and black eyes. She wore a golden dress with galaxy symbols on her hips and waist. She had a sword in her hand.
Earth/Level 7/Spellcaster/Effect/ATK 2400/DEF 1200
"When I control a monster, I can Special Summon the Tuner Monster Dimension Tuner from my hand," the woman called forth another monster. But this time, it was a small male wearing adventurer clothing whose color was black and white. He had unkempt black hair with white streaks.
Light/Level 1/Spellcaster/Effect/ATK 100/DEF 100
When he arrived, he smiled at his masters and friends. The woman returns his smile with one of her own.
"It's nice to see you again, D.T," the woman commented. Naomi blinked at their interaction. She can interact with her monsters just like she can.
The woman simply responded when she noticed Naomi was looking at her like that. "It's simple. I can feel their hearts and hear their voices, whether we are dueling together or being together side by side. In the end, it's simply a matter of whether you want to listen to their voices or not."
Naomi didn't answer because of how accurate the woman's words were. When she suffered from the backlash and was in the hospital during her incident, Naomi heard their voices in her time of need. Encouraging her not to give up. To keep going, no matter what.
She's grateful to have such kind duel spirits and friends to help her.
"Let's continue. When I use Dimension Goddess as Fusion Material, I can fuse her and Agenya together," the woman explained as they went into the vortex.
"The passionate priestess of the endless void. Become one with the kind goddess and create a new realm. Fusion Summon. Come forth, the flame goddess of this unknown place. Level 8 Pele the Fire Goddess."
This time a woman with pinkish-red hair with white eyes wore a white dress with red accessories as the design was red flames in the shape of galaxies. She had a black staff in her hand.

"Because of Dimension Goddess, I can Special Summon her. Now I tune my Level 8 Dimension Goddess with Level 1 Dimension Tuner," this time, the woman turned into stars as the little traveler became a single ring passing through the stars.
"The goddess of the water realm. Bless this endless plane with your knowledge. Synchro Summon. Level 8 Belisama the Water Goddess."
A woman with overflowing blue hair and white eyes is wearing the same attire as Pele however, her accessories are water-themed. She held a white staff in her hands.
Water/Level 8/Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect/ATK 2800/DEF 2500
"First, Pele's effect negates Neo-Parshath effect and reduces her ATK to 0. Next, when Belisama is Synchro Summoned: she gains ATK equal to all Special Summoned Monsters ATK you control therefore, her ATK is now 5100. Also, when Dimension Tuner is used as material, Belisama's ATK is double to 10200."
Naomi felt sweat running down her temple, and she gave a crooked smile.
"Ah…This is definitely going to be difficult. Not only can the woman Fusion Summon for the second time, but she can also Synchro Summon," Naomi noted.
The woman pointed at one of her set cards. "Set Card Open! I activate my Quick-Play Spell Card 'Dimensional Fusion' to fuse Flame and Priest to bring back Agenya."
The fire priestess returned to the field. The woman took another card out of her hand.
"I banish Dimension Tuner and Apprentice Illusion to Special Summon Darkflare Dragon."
Dark/Level 5/Dragon/Effect/ATK 2400/DEF 1200
Instead of a human monster, this time, a dragon appeared on the woman's field, surprising Naomi.
Ever since this duel started, the woman summoned Spellcaster-Type Monsters to her field. Not once had she summoned another type until now.
So being the curious person she is, Naomi decides to ask her.
"Why do you have a Dragon-Type Monster instead of a Spellcaster-Type Monster?" Naomi questioned. The woman smiled softly, but her smile was filled with sadness.
"I don't just use one type of monsters I use Wyrm-Type, Psychic-Type, Rock-Type, and even Fairy-Type Monsters just like yourself. But when it comes to this particular type, it was a gift from my precious person before that incident, separating us forever," the woman answered.
Indeed, she mainly used Spellcaster-Type Monsters, but whenever she used Dragon-Type monsters, she just couldn't help herself but be reminded of him when she did.
"I understand the part of using one or more types of monsters," Naomi replied truthfully. Even though her Deck is mainly filled with Fairy-Type Monster, she puts other types there to help balance her Deck, just like when she adds her Madolche Deck in the mix.
And personally, because she likes to see what other types work well together.
The sad look was replaced with one of amusement. "If you think that's surprising, just wait till you see this! I use Level 5 Darkflare Dragon and Paradox Girl to build the Overlay Network!"
The two monsters turn into different colored orbs. They dropped into the galaxy portal.
"Bless the night with your endless life. Give light to the void and grant them hope. Xyz Summon. Descend on this plane. Rank 5, Hecate the Dark Priestess."
A female monster wearing black robes with a white sash across her body. Her black hair is tied in a space-colored ribbon, and her white eyes flicker at the sight of her master and friends.
Dark/Rank 5/Spellcaster/Xyz/Effect/ATK 2200/DEF 2000/OU:2
The woman looked at her options even though she could activate Hecate's effect allowing her to banish two cards in her Graveyard to destroy Naomi's set cards. Yet decided she will not activate her recently summoned monster effect.
Besides, that will be overdoing it, and she wants to see how Naomi will react to seeing four monsters summoned from the Extra Deck on the field.
True to her words, the young girl was taken back by witnessing four monsters on the field whose ATK is higher than her monsters. The woman was incredibly skilled at dueling that she performed a Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz Summon in one turn.
That Naomi felt troubled by her skills in comparison. Yes, she can Ritual Summon, but she can't do what the woman just did. First and foremost, Naomi does not know how to perform those summons. She may have some knowledge of them. But when it comes to actually doing the summons and using them in a duel is an entirely different story.
The woman sighed softly and continued her turn. Although Naomi looks upset, she has to show her what she can do if she were to use this duel as a lesson to become strong.
"I detach an Overlay Unit from Hecate to Special Summon Archnemesis Eschatos from my Deck, ignoring its summoning conditions; however, it is banished during the End Phase," the woman said.
Eschatos descended on the field, roaring nearly, blowing everyone off their feet, but they still regained their balance.
Light/Level 11/Dragon/Effect/ATK 3000/DEF 2500
"I'm going into my Battle Phase. First, Eschatos attack Neo-Parshath!" The woman shouted. The disfigured green and purple dragon launched fire blasts toward the Sky Paladin.
Naomi snapped out of her mood and activated one of her set cards.
"Trap, Activate! 'Lumenize' to negate your attack, and Neo-Parshath gains ATK equal to Eschatos, meaning my monster gains 3000 ATK!" Naomi countered. A shield blocks the flames from burning Naomi. They turn into dust surrounding Neo-Parshath and significantly power the monster.
"Hecate attack Volley Cupit and Agneya attack Neo-Parshath," the woman ordered. Hecate snapped her fingers, creating a whirlpool as the Cupid Monster fell through the portal, leaving the field. Agneya waved her waves, creating harsh flames burning the other monster to a pile of ashes. The ashes hit Naomi as she felt her LP go down.
Naomi:4000-1200=2800 LP
"Next, Pele will attack you directly."
"I don't think, so I activate my set card 'Defense-"
"No, you won't. I activate the Counter Trap Card 'Trap Jammer' to negate and destroy your Trap Card during this battle," the women interrupted. A portal burned the Trap Card into a pile of ashes rendering it useless for Naomi to use.
The girl clicked her teeth but remained calm. She still had one card in her hand because of the 'Backup Squad' effect, and if she used her monster effect, she could make a comeback.
"I activate Goddess of Sweet Revenge's effect that's in my hand-" Naomi was again interrupted by the woman.
She saw another Trap Card had been activated.
"Counter Trap Card 'Chivalry' to negate your monster's effect and destroy that card" the woman nods her head. Pele took that as a signal to continue her attack as she used her staff to create a small fireball, hitting Naomi in the shoulder. The attack wiped away the rest of her LP.
Naomi:2800-3000=0 LP
Not only did the field disappear, but the duel disks also did.
Naomi slumped to the floor and hung her head. She felt disappointed in herself that not only did she lose severely, but she had also failed the test.
She couldn't even look at the woman approaching her.
The woman stroked her hair and gave a warm smile. "You pass the test Naomi," the woman said, causing the young girl to be confused.
"Huh?"
"I didn't say you had to win the duel to pass. You just had to show me that you are ready to face the dangers, and you did," the woman explained. "Despite witnessing an Xyz, Synchro, and Fusion Summon, you didn't cower away. You still choose to fight despite the odds being against you."
"So, therefore, you pass the second test," the woman reaffirmed her words. She stroked Naomi's head, and the girl nearly cried but held her tears in.
"However, I will erase our meeting and some parts of this duel as a punishment for losing. Okay," the woman added, earning a whine from Naomi.
Still, Naomi understood even though she had passed. She still lost the duel.
She nodded and stood on her feet. "When the times come, I will lend you my power so you can prevent this catastrophe from happening again. Can I count on you when that happens, Naomi Kobiyashi?" the woman asked, wanting to make sure Naomi knew what she was about to get into. The young girl nodded her head, assuring her that she was ready for whatever or whoever came her way, especially if they were going to hurt her loved ones.
The woman smiled and placed her hand on Naomi's forehead. "Then I will be counting on you. Good luck on your journey..."
The strange mark shone a purple light resonating with Naomi's strange mark as it shone a green light.
The two lights merged and enveloped the whole area blinding the scenery.
