Chapter 15: Team Rocket's Sea Adventure
They all stared at out the ocean from the window.
"Okay… okay… we're under the sea! Does anyone know how it happened?" asked James.
Jessie and Meowth gave him "Are you kidding looks."
"It's all your fault for falling for that scam!" yelled Jessie.
She tired opt hit him but the whole ship started to shake.
""Calm down! I don't think we're in a good spot." Said Meowth.
Jessie calmed down.
"I wonder if the twerps are on board." Muttered Meowth.
"Knowing our luck they are." Said James.
Meanwhile in the popular beach destination of Porta Vista…
"Luffy? Can you even swim with a inner tube?" asked Misty.
"Oh yeah! I've done it multiple times!" said Luffy.
He ran into the ocean to go for a swim with Ash.
"Should we be worried?" asked Misty.
"Just let have fun." Said Nami as she laid on a beach chair with sunglasses.
Misty looked at Nami's bathing suit, which had sleeves for some reason.
"It's fashionable where I come from." Said Nami.
"I see…" said Misty with a sweat drop.
Back on the Saint Anne, Team Rocket was, searching for a way out of the ship. They got to an area that was partially submerged.
"All right! We're swimming out of here!" said Jessie.
They all dove into the water. And there was no way out of the water maze and soon they were already close to drowning.
However a friendly Mantyke showed up. It stared at them before pushing them to the air pocket.
They thankfully soon regained consciousness.
"What… what happened?" asked James.
"Man… Tyke!" said the Mantyke.
"It said "I saved you"." Said Meowth.
"Oh thank you." Said Jessie and James.
The Mantyke then swam away.
"Why do I have a feeling this isn't the last time we'll be seeing that Pokémon?" asked James.
"Probably just you." Said Jessie.
Back in Porta Vista, they war enjoying the beach.
"So this is where you kids are." Said a voice.
Misty and Nami looked at saw a woman with dark red hair.
"Do we know you?" asked Misty.
That was when Nami remembered her face.
"Wait… I know you…" said Nami, "You're Ash's mom."
"That's right." Said Ash's' mom, "Just call me Delia."
"They pay for your vacation too?" asked Nami.
"No, I was planning to take a vacation here anyways." Said Delia.
"Seriously?" asked Nami.
Ash noticed his mother.
"Mom! What are you doing here?" asked Ash.
"I'm on vacation." Said Delia.
"Why didn't you call me after the ship sunk and I got a free vacation?" asked Ash.
"I wanted to surprise you." Sid Delia.
That was when Pro. Oak showed up in an Alolan shirt.
"Oh hello Ash!" said Pro. Oak.
"Why are you on vacation with Ash's mom?" asked Nami with a her eye twitching.
Delia and Pro. Oak realized what Nami was getting at.
"We're just really good friends!" said Delia blushing.
"Just friends! It's nothing like that!" said Pro. Oak.
"Really?" asked Nami with a sweat drop causing the two to sweat drop.
Back under the sea… Team Rocket count tied to search for a possible way out.
"Maybe if we break one of this windows." Said James.
"I don't know, will it work?" asked Jessie.
"I don't know if that's a good idea." Said Meowth.
That was when James kicked one of the windows in.
However instead of acting as an escape, it just started to flood area they were in.
It flooded too quickly for them to escape.
As it flooded, the Mantyke showed up against and pushed them to safety.
Once they were able to regain consciousness, they noticed the Mantyke.
"Man… tyke…" said Mantyke.
"It says "Really… again?" translated Meowth.
Jessie and James sweat dropped.
"Maybe we should try to find another way out…" said Jessie.
"Yeah…" said James.
Back in Porta Vista, Delia watched Luffy, Ash and their Pikachus were having fun in the water, Zoro nearby was meditating under a tree, Brock was looking for cute girls.
"So has Ash's been doing well?" asked Delia.
"Well two of his badges were gotten because of pity." Said Nami.
"Sounds about right." Joked Delia, "SO has he been changing his underwear everyday?"
"Don't ask us that!" yelled the two orange heads at the same time.
That was when they heard screams from the water.
They all turned and saw fins in the water.
"What are those Pokémon?" asked Nami.
"Sharpedo, they're more common in Hoenn's waters." Explained Pro. Oak.
That was when they saw Luffy sinking into the water, Ash would try to save him but the Sharpedo were stopping him.
"Where's Luffy's Poke balls?" asked Nami.
"Over there with Ash's"! said Misty.
Nami and Misty went through their Poke balls.
He found Totodile and Squirtle who both noticed the situation.
"Come on out everyone!" called out Misty sending out her entire team.
Staryu, Starmie and Goldeen joined the fray in fighting the Sharpedo.
Nami dove in the water to grab Luffy.
She managed to grab Luffy, but a Sharpedo grazed her shoulder.
She flinched thankfully Totodile began to help get Luffy back to shore.
"Is he okay?" asked Ash.
"I'm fine." Said Luffy, "They didn't try to eat me."
"Nami… your shoulder." Said Delia.
"It's fine… really." Said Nami.
"But I see some red underneath your sleeve." Said Delia.
"It's fine… really." Said Nami.
"Nami!" scowled Delia.
"Come on Nami! We don't want your arm to get worse." Said Misty.
"It's fine! Really, it doesn't hurt at all!" said Nami.
Luffy got up and grabbed Nami's sleeve. He managed to tore it off, Nami was right, her arm was fine…
However the on her arm was a red tattoo… it looked like a very stylized saw fish, but one thing was clear, it was the emblem of another pirate crew…
"Nami… what is that?" asked Luffy.
"I have to go…" said Nami running off.
"What's was that about?" asked Ash.
"I don't know…" said Luffy.
There were many screams.
"Maybe we should help finish up with the Sharpedo…" sighed Misty.
"Good idea." Said Ash.
Back in the Saint Anne, Jessie and James came across a room that was on fire.
"Other way?" asked James.
"Other way." Said Jessie.
They went the other way only to find another place that was on fire.
"Oh come on!" yelled Meowth.
They decided to escape however it started flooding against.
"Wait I have an idea! We can use you that Magikarp to get us out of here!" said Jessie.
"Not such a bad idea now…" said James.
Once he realized the Magikarp it did nothing…
That was when the flooding covered the whole room.
Back at Porta Vista… they had managed to defeat the Sharpedo, which thankfully fled.
"So what was that mark on Nami's arm?" asked Brock.
"Don't' know..." said Luffy and Zoro at the same time.
"How can you not know?" asked Delia.
"We don't know any thing about Nami's past." Said Luffy.
"Really she didn't?" asked Misty, "Even before you got here, that's a little rude."
Ash, Zoro, Luffy and the two Pikachus gave her a look.
"Pikachu…" said Luffy's Pikachu (Translation: Hypocrite.)
Misty could feel what the word was.
"Either way we have to find her and ask what the mark on her arm means." Said Brock.
"She's hiding something big." Said Zoro.
The others nodded in agreement.
Meanwhile back under the sea Team Rocket was drowning, the Mantyke once again found them, the Mantyke sigh and decided to recuse them completely.
It found a way out of the ship and pushed them to the surface where it found a large piece of driftwood to use as a make shift raft.
The Mantyke just stared at them waiting to see if they regained consciousness. Which thankfully they did.
"What happened?" asked James.
"I don't' know…" said Jessie.
"Mantyke, man… man… mantayke! MAN TYKE MAN!" said Mantyke.
"It says "You guys are pathetic, and that's the last time I'm going to save you… Seriously you're idiots!"" translated Meowth.
"Don't call us idiots!" yelled Jessie and James.
The Mantyke rolled its eyes and left, unsure if it was going to help humans ever again, even after it would evolve.
"So what was that Pokémon, now that a I think about it." Said Jessie.
"I have no idea." Sighed James.
Back at Porta Vista, Nami was on the coast crying.
"What am I going to do?" asked Nami.
Her plan was always to wait until they had plenty of money and then find the perfect time to flee back to her home island. She was just using them…
Then she got sent to another world. A world where she didn't' have worry about pirates… or anything like that…
A lace where could have honest friends.
Well sort of… she had to go back, she couldn't just leave all of them in HIS hands…
"Nami!" she heard Luffy call out her name.
"Nami!" she heard Misty called out her name.
Nami wiped away her tears.
"I have to tell them the truth." She whispered, "I'm over here!"
The two found her…
"Nami…" said Luffy.
"Are you okay?" asked Misty.
"I'm fine." Sighed Nami, "There's something I have to tell you… all of you…"
Back in the middle of the ocean Team Rocket was hungry, they hadn't eaten in a long time.
"Food…" all three of them groaned, "Food…"
They looked at Magikarp who was nearby, never having returned to its Pokeball.
"We'll eat the Magikarp…" said Jessie.
"Just what I was thinking…" said James.
"I get the first bite!" said Meowth.
Meowth bit the Magikarp only to have his teeth break.
"What!" he yelled.
"Okay that's it!" yelled James, "We cant' eat it! It can't save us! I'm giving it the boot."
As soon as he kicked it off the makeshift it raft it started to glow.
That was when it evolved into Gyarados… a giant sea serpent that was glaring at then.
"Oh I was kidding! I'm your master, remember…" said James.
The Gyarados just roared at them.
In their hotel room the group plus Pro. Oka and Delia had gathered in.
"When I was young…" said Nami, "Me and my family was poor, we didn't have much and I always complained… I was adopted by a woman Belle Mere… I was always a brat when it came to money…"
It was clear Nami was trying not to cry
"One day I tried running away and I learned how she adopted me and my sister. It turned out she was a Marine and saved us from a war torn island. When I had returned home… it turned out a pirate crew had took over the island. The Arlong Pirates… They made everyone pay money for their protection… 50,000 berries for every child and 100,000 for every adult. Belle Mere only had 100,000… She used it to for us… so they killed her…" said Nami.
Everyone in the room was shocked by this.
"Oh Nami…" said Misty.
Nami's Pokémon all left their Poke balls sensing her sadness.
Meowth went to her lap and curled up on her lap. Clefairy went to her leg and hugged her. While Castform settled on her head.
"Thanks…" whispered Nami.
"You're story's not finished is it?" asked Brock
"No…" sighed Nami, "I had made a map of our home island. And they found it. So he took me and we made a deal. I make undersea charts for him and if I make 100 million Berries I could buy back my village from him… and since then I've been working for him."
"And that's why you have that tattoo." Said Ash.
"I don't get it, why didn't you just tell us?" asked Luffy.
"You were planning on burying us eventually, weren't you?" asked Zoro.
Nami didn't say anything.
"Nami…" said Ash.
"That was only before we got sent here." Said Nami, "Before we were used as test dummies for some crazy devil fruit user…"
"Oh yeah… good point." Said Ash.
"Seriously…" sighed Misty, "I could figure out that's what she meant."
"The reason why I ran away… was that I realized I can't… I can't betray you now…" whispered Nami, "If we're sent back home… I don't know what to do…"
"Nami when we get back to our world…" said Luffy, "After we get a bigger crew I'm going to kick those pirates a…"
That was when Delia tugged Luffy's ear before he could finish his sentence.
"Don't curse in front of my 10 year old son…" she scolded.
"Okay…" sighed Luffy.
"Arlong is…" said Nami.
She looked at Luffy face.
"Nami… I don't know how long it will take." Said Pro. Oak, "But now that I know about your situation I will work harder on my device than I ever had before."
Looked at them, she started to cry.
"Are you okay?" asked Brock.
"I'm fine… it's just nice to finally get this off my chest…" cried Nami.
Back in the middle of the ocean Team Rocket tried to get away from the Gyarados. That was when more of them appeared.
"Oh come on!" yelled Jessie.
That was when they created a tornado.
"It's headed right for us!" screamed James.
And so the they were drawn into the tornado. Sent to who knows where.
But who knows if their adventure would be shown this time…
And I really mean it this time!
However Nami's past was now known, and who honestly knew what that would mean for the future… honestly only time will tell…
Next Time: With the vacation over, it's time to head back to the mainland, but there's trouble brewing with some Tentacool. What will happen when things get complicated thanks to Team Rocket? Find out next time!
