Chapter 23: Fate Begins to Turn
Recap: After finally finding where Sora-kun could be. Yuya-san and I witnessed Sora-kun dueling our counterparts of the Xyz Dimension, Yuki-san and Yuto. Then the two won against Sora-kun, who's been teleported back to his dimension, mainly Academia. But then a golden light shone in the park, and when the light dimmed, two figures came out of a portal. The horrible feeling I felt had been multiple by one thousand.

The enraged girl drove her d-wheel near Naomi's direction as if she was trying to run over her. Fortunately, Naomi moved out of the way in time to prevent her from being hit.
"Don't you fucking run away from me, Akemi!" the girl roared. Naomi groaned because this was the second time someone mistook her for her Fusion counterpart.
"My name is not Akemi. My name is Naomi Kobiyashi," Naomi protested. She dodged again to avoid getting run over by a motorcycle.
"Don't lie to me! You're actually Akemi! Blue hair and ribbons tied in those small twin tails!" The girl shouted back, enraged. She nearly hit everything in sight, trying to run Naomi over with her d-wheel.
"My hair is green, and it is tied with white ribbons! I don't even know who you are!" Naomi yelled. She kept dodging the girl's furious attacks, only to get hit by an object.
Naomi looked at the object thrown at her, revealing it to be a helmet. "Did you just throw your helmet at me!" Naomi exclaimed. She checked to see if she was bleeding.
Yes, she was.
Naomi turned around, ready to give the enraged girl a piece of her mind, until she saw the girl's face, which shocked her. She has the same face as her, just like Yuki and Akemi. Her hair is a brown color tied up in a ponytail, and her eyes are also brown.
"I only did that because you forgot my name! It's Haru Kobi! Don't you fucking forget it, sadistic bitch!" Haru replied, her words full of poison.
Yuya ran between the two girls to stop Haru from advancing to Naomi. "Leave Naomi alone. She already told you she, not this Akemi person" Yuya stood in front of Naomi with his arms out, acting as a shield for her.
"Huh! Don't get in my way, tomato brain-" Haru said before narrowing her eyes. "Wait a minute. You sound like that creep who stalked me!"
Haru pointed her finger at Yuya in a menacing manner. "Duel me, you creepy bastard. I'll put you in the ground first before I send your girlfriend ten feet in the ground!"
The one thing Yuya could say was, "Eh?"
"Don't 'Eh' me! I know it was you. Not only did you kidnap Rin, but you also stalked me and got your psychotic girlfriend after me! Look at what she gave me!" Haru yelled, zipping her riding suit down and revealing her tank top. She lifted her shirt showing a scar on her stomach. Naomi and Yuya winced at the scarred mark on the girl's stomach. It seemed like that scar had been there for weeks, judging by how it looked. Naomi wondered how her Fusion Counterpart could do that to her Synchro Counterpart without feeling remorse.
Yuya saw that Haru was stubborn about the issue and wasn't going to let him or Naomi go until he duel her.
"Very well, I will duel you, but if I win, you have to listen that Naomi and I aren't the people you are looking for," Yuya agreed. Haru gave a grin and started her duel disk. "Alright! But if I win, then I get to kick both of your asses after this duel is over," Haru shouted. Naomi sweat-dropped at the intensity Haru was emitting.
Yuya got out his duel disk, put it on his wrist, and activated it.
"Yo Gocchi, I'm about to kick this bastard a- he's not listening" Haru sighed when she saw Yugo go into a duel with emo looking dude with a black-haired girl watching the duel. But it made her wonder why is the girl watching the duel and not joining to help her friend until Haru got an idea.
She must be a cheerleader. That sounds about right.
"DUEL!" both duelists shouted, drawing five cards from their hands.
Yuya vs Haru; 4000 LP Each, H:5 Each
"I'll go first, you grinning bastard! When I control no monsters, I can Special Summon Junk Forward from my hand" Haru summoned. A tan Machine monster sprinted on her field.
Earth/Level 3/Warrior/Effect/ATK 900/DEF 1500
"When I control a Junk Monster, I can Special Summon this card from my hand. Come to me, Junk Servant."
An orange toy machine appeared next to Junk Forward.
Earth/Level 4/Warrior/Effect/ATK 1500/DEF 1000
"Finally, I summon the Tuner Monster, Junk Anchor."
A small gray faceless machine appeared on Haru's field.
Earth/Level 2/Warrior/Tuner/Effect/ATK 0/DEF 0
"But don't think I'm finished, you fucking bastard! I tune my Level 3 Junk Forward to my Level 2 Junk Anchor! Made from junk! Be reborn into the strongest weapon from old times! Synchro Summon! Level 5! Catapult Warrior!" Haru chanted. Catapult Warrior descended on the field in Defense Position.
"I activate Catapult Warrior's effect by sending Junk Servant to the Graveyard. You take damage equal to its ATK! Take 1500 damage, you grinning jerk!" Haru shouted Catapult Warrior and shot Junk Servant towards Yuya, effectively hitting him in the chin and causing him to be taken back. He winced at the damage he had just taken.
Yuya:4000-1500=2500 LP
"Her turn has just started, and Yuya-san has already lost 1500 LP," Naomi noted. She felt like she knew Haru would inflict damage on Yuya in her first turn. This felt weird to her because this was the first time they had met.
"I set a card and end my turn! Now show me the Deck that defeated Rin-chan and took her away from us!" Haru demanded. She was fuming angrily when she noticed the confused look on Yuya's face.
"What's with that stupid expression! You took Rin-chan with that freaky Deck of yours! Now you either show me, or I will kick your sorry ass!" Haru snapped. Her patience was on a thin string that was getting ready to break any minute.
"I don't know who this Rin person is, and I didn't take her" Yuya tried to explain his innocent, but Haru wasn't listening to him.
"I said shut up or play your cards! I'll decide if you did take Rin or not! Now hurry up!" Haru growled, igniting her d-wheel ready to flatten Yuya into the ground if he kept on stalling. Yuya groaned in frustration and just drew his card.
"It's my turn! Draw!" Yuya took two cards out of his hands.
Turn 2
H:5-6
"I set Scale 2-Entermate Drummerilla and Scale 8-Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon on the Pendulum Scale! With this, I can Pendulum Summon Monsters whose Levels are 3 through 7 at the same time!" Yuya set his scales, surprising Haru.
"What the hell is this!" Haru was taken back by the scene in front of her.
"Sway! Pendulum of the soul! Draw an arc of light across the aether! Pendulum Summon! Come forth! My monsters! Entermate King Bear, and Entermate Salutiger!"
Yuya Pendulum Summoned a bear wearing a crown and a red king-like cape on its back.
E.K.B: Earth/Level 6/Beast-Warrior/Pendulum/Effect/ATK 2200/DEF 1000/P.S:7
He also summoned a tiger wearing a red uniform saluting as he was summoned on the field.
E.S: Earth/Level 4/Beast-Warrior/Effect/ATK 1700/DEF 500
"I activate the Continuous Spell Card 'Pendulum Illusion' when this card is on the field. I can skip my Draw Phase. However, if I don't, this card is destroyed," Yuya explained going into his Battle Phase.
"Battle! Entermate King Bear attack Catapult Warrior! Now the rest of Pendulum Illusion's effect is when a Pendulum Monster battles, I can send a Spell/Trap Card to my Graveyard from my hand, so your monster can't be destroyed by battle. However its ATK and DEF are halved during that battle! Additionally, that monster can inflict piercing battle damage!"
A blue light struck Catapult Warrior. The monster felt extremely weak and saw the attack but couldn't do anything about it.
"Don't underestimate me, you sick bastard! I flip over my set card, the Trap Card 'Synchro Deflector' to destroy King Bear!" Haru yelled.
"King Bear cannot be destroyed by card effects when he is in ATK Position, and he gains 100 ATK for each Entermate Monster I control! Continue your attack, King Bear!" Yuya countered. He then sent a card to his Graveyard slot.
King Bear ran over to the other side and slashed Catapult Warrior into pieces, creating iron marks however due to Yuya's Continuous Spell Card, Catapult Warrior wasn't destroyed.
Haru winced at the damage but still regained her balance on her motorcycle.
Haru:4000-1650=2350 LP
"Now Salutiger attack Catapult Warrior!"
Since Salutiger wasn't a Pendulum Monster, Catapult Warrior was sent to the Graveyard. Fortunately, Haru didn't take any damage due to her monster in Defense Position.
"When Salutiger destroys a monster by battle. I can add an Entermate Pendulum Monster from my Deck to my hand. I add Entermate Pendulum" Yuya showed the added card to Haru.
"I'm fine with ending the duel," Yuya said. He was concerned. He was hurting someone with the same face as Naomi but by the look on Haru's face. Maybe he should have kept his mouth shut.
"Like I said, don't underestimate me! It's now my turn! Draw!" Haru drew a card for her turn.
Turn 3
H:1-2
"I activate the Quick-Play Spell 'Synchro Greed' by banishing Catapult Warrior. I can draw three cards" Haru draws her cards. "Next, I Special Summon the Tuner Monster, QuickDraw Synchron, from my hand by discarding a card. Come out, my sharpshooter!"
QuickDraw Synchron floated in the air next to Haru.
Wind/Level 5/Machine/Tuner/Effect/ATK 700/DEF 1400
"I summon Level Eater from my hand" joining the field was a red ladybug with a star on its back.
Dark/Level 1/Insect/Effect/ATK 600/DEF 0
"I tune my Level 1 Level Eater to my Level 5 QuickDraw Synchron! Worker of the mines! Show your power to the hard-crushing earth! Synchro Summon! Break it apart! Level 6, Drill Warrior!"
An orange-reddish Machine warrior with a drill in his hand appeared on the field.
Earth/Level 6/Warrior/Synchro/Effect/ATK 2400/DEF 2000
"It pisses me off when I see that stupid bear on the field. However, I want to inflict damage to you, so I go with the disgusting abomination you call Salutiger," Haru said bluntly. Both monsters flinched at the glare that was directed toward them.
Yuya couldn't help but feel anger in his chest when Haru called his monster an abomination. After all, his Entermate Deck represents his ideals, so having someone make fun of his monsters irritates him.
"Don't call my monsters an abomination ever again, Haru" Yuya glared at the girl, who glared right back at Yuya.
"I just did. What are you going to do about it, you grinning bastard!" Haru remarked. She proceeded to attack Salutiger. Drill Warrior dug a hole in the ground as he rose to pierce the tiger wearing uniform in the chest, effectively destroying it.
Yuya:2500-300=2200 LP
"I set a card, and I'm finished with my turn" Haru set a card on the field. Yuya drew his cards and grinned at what he has just drawn.
Turn 4
H:1-2
"Pendulum Illusion is now destroyed. I activate the Spell Card 'Pendulum's Draw' to draw cards equal to the monsters' Levels in my Pendulum Zones. Drummerilla's Level is five, while Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon is three, but the number of cards I can draw by this effect is seven. So, I draw seven cards" Yuya drew his cards, refilling his hand greatly.
"With my current scale, I will Pendulum Summon! Come forth, my monsters!" Yuya chanted. Three familiar monsters descend on the field.
"Dragon with beautiful yet wonderful eyes! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"

"Odd-Eyes Persona Dragon, Entermate Gold Fang, and Entermate Pendulum Sorcerer!"

"Next, I activate Pendulum Sorcerer's effect by destroying Drummerilla in my Pendulum Zone. I can add Entermate Ballad, which I now place in my empty Pendulum Zone," Yuya added, replacing the entertaining gorilla was a handsome figure with a white-reddish rose on his head.
"I activate the Spell Card 'Odd-Eyes Fusion' from my hand to fuse Gold Fang and Odd-Eyes Persona Dragon!" Yuya activated, a card in his hand as his monsters fused.
"Bright wolf! Become one with the dual-eyed dragon to create a new power! Fusion Summon! Come forth! The ferocious dragon with luminous feral eyes! Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
A dual eyes dragon covered in bones and fur appeared on the field.
Earth/Level 8/Dragon/Fusion/Effect/ATK 3000/DEF 2000
"Battle! Beast-Eyes attack Drill Warrior! Hell Dive Burst!" Yuya shouted Beast-Eyes shot a flame that resembles a dragon that struck at Drill Warrior incinerating the machine to ashes.
"I activate my Trap Card 'Defense Draw' to reduce the battle damage. I take this turn to 0, and I can draw a card by this effect!" Haru drew her card and gave a sly smirk.
"She has the same trap card Naomi has," Yuya recalled quietly. He remembered seeing the same card in the girl's Deck when they had their tag duel against Mai and Jounouchi.
"However, you take damage equal to Gold Fang's ATK, which was 1800!" Yuya reminded. Gold Fang's spirit showed up and blasted damage at Haru, inflicting more damage to her LP.
Haru:2350-1800=550 LP
"If Yuya-san attacks, then he will win the duel, but I have a feeling Haru won't let him attack again this turn," Naomi thought. She saw Yuya going for a direct attack with Odd-Eyes only to be stopped by a machine scarecrow monster that prevented Odd-Eyes, Pendulum Sorcerer, and King Bear from attacking.
"I bet you're wondering why your monsters are not attacking. The reason is simple: I discard Swift Scarecrow to the Graveyard to negate your attack and end the Battle Phase," Haru explained, "I knew you would destroy Drill Warrior, so I set that card in case you did. Luckily, you did, and I could draw this card to prevent my LP from reaching 0."
Yuya is shocked, but he regains his composure. "I set a card and end my turn" Yuya concluded his turn with a set card on his field.
"I'm impressed you were able to bring my LP to 550. If you didn't do this much, then maybe I wouldn't have expected someone like you that was able to defeat Rin-chan and take her away" Haru grinned.
"I told you I don't know who this Rin is. I didn't duel or take her!" Yuya protested Haru's claims. But the girl wasn't listening to his words.
"Shut the hell up! It's my turn, right? Let me end you for taking my friend away!" Haru declared, driving her motorcycle and nearly running Yuya over with her bike, but unfortunately for her. Yuya got out of the way in time to prevent himself from being hit.
Haru drew her card for her turn.
Turn 5
H:0-1
"I activate the Spell Card 'Synchro's Gift' I banish Drill Warrior to draw two cards" Haru drew her cards and took a card out of her slot.
"I summon the Tuner Monster Chaos Student from my hand!" A small girl with purple hair in twin tails wearing a gothic lolita dress appeared next to her friends.
Light/level 2/Spellcaster/Tuner/Effect/ATK 2000/DEF 100
"Now I activate the Spell Card 'Chaos Strike' since I control a Chaos Monster, I can destroy all Spell/Trap Cards on your field, including your set cards!" Haru said the card showed Chaos Student, Chaos Teacher, casting spells in a library as they caused a mess of the place. The Spell Card blasted winds destroying Yuya's Pendulum Cards and his set card.
"Then Chaos Student's effect allows me to Special Summon a DARK from my Deck or my hand. I choose to Special Summon Chaos Apprentice from my Deck!"
Chaos Student took out her book and chanted some words as coming out of the book was an older version of Chaos Student, except her purple hair was longer and let down. She wore a black and yellow magician outfit with golden accents on it.
Dark/Level 6/Spellcaster/Effect/ATK 2000/DEF 1000
"When Chaos Apprentice is Special Summoned by a Chaos Monster effect, I can Special Summon LIGHT Monster from my Deck! Come on out! Chaos Teacher!" Haru cried out, Chaos Apprentice cast a spell, and a portal appeared from the ground. A monster shot out from the portal, revealing a white hair male in a magician suit wielding a duel staff in both of his hands.
Light/Level 7/Spellcaster/Effect/ATK 2500/DEF 2000
"She already has three monsters on her field?!" Yuya exclaimed. He was somewhat surprised. Haru can swarm her field with monsters just by summoning one monster. Her move reminded him of Reiji in that way.
"That's right! This is my Chaos Synchro Deck, and don't you forget it, tomato head!" Haru shouted as she continued her turn.
"I can add a Chaos Spell or Trap Card in my hand via Chaos Teacher's effect! I choose to add the Spell Card Chaotic Hand. Now I target Chaos Apprentice so I can Special Summon Level Eater from my Graveyard by reducing her Level to 5!" Haru summoned the familiar insect monster back to her field.
Naomi noticed that Chaos Student is a Tuner Monster. She calculated her Level, which was 2, Chaos Apprentice, a Level 5 monster, and Level Eater, a Level 1 monster, as those monsters' Levels equal up to 8.
"Don't tell me?!" Naomi whispered. She glanced down at her already glowing birthmark.
"My preparations are finished! I tune my Level 5 Chaos Apprentice, Level 1 Level Eater to Level 2 Chaos Student!"
Chaos Student turned into two green rims passing through Chaos Apprentice and Level Eater, turning them into stars. Haru's birthmark glowed a gold-yellowish light.
"The goddess who resides between light and darkness! Bow down at her chaotic glory! Synchro Summon! Show yourself! Level 8, Chaos Goddess!"
Descending from a golden light, Chaos Goddess wielding her staff, she gave a triumphant smile as she appeared on Haru's field.
Light/Level 8/Fairy/Synchro/Effect/ATK 2500/DEF 1800
"I activate the Spell Card 'Chaotic Hand' I banish Level Eater to add Gradius from my hand. Now I activate my ace monster's effect by sending Gradius to my Graveyard. I can Special Summon Chaos Apprentice to my field. However, I cannot use her as Synchro Material" Haru continued. She Special Summoned Chaos Apprentice back to her field.
"Next, Chaos Teacher, attack that phony dragon that looks like Clear Wing! Now his additional effect activates! I target Chaos Apprentice to change her ATK to 0, so her Teacher gains her 2000 ATK increasing his own ATK to 4500!"
Chaos Teacher blasted a black and yellow wave towards Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, as the dragon countered the blast with its own.
"I banish the Trap Card Odd-Eyes Burst from my Graveyard to negate Odd-Eyes Dragon destruction by battle!" Yuya saved his ace monster but at the cost of losing LP.
Yuya:2200-1500=700 LP
"Regardless, I have one more attack left! Now Chaos Goddess brings punishment on Pendulum Sorcerer! Chaotic Blast!" Haru shouted. Chaos Goddess nodded as she charged up her staff.
Her staff has a black and yellow light coming out of it that grows larger and larger. Then she waves her staff towards Pendulum Sorcerer, unleashing a dual-colored light, and it makes contact with the other monster, who and his master look at the attack in fear. When the blast collided with Pendulum Sorcerer, Yuya skidded back because of the shockwaves but soon landed on his back.
Yuya:700-1000=0 LP
The blast created shockwaves that caused everyone in the area to nearly be taken back, especially Yuto and Yugo, who were currently dueling against each other.
"Yuya-san!" Naomi cried out loud and rushed to an injured Yuya. Naomi helped Yuya sit up to make sure he didn't put pressure on the wounds he sustained in his duel. Naomi hears an engine going in their direction, revealing the source to be Haru.
The said girl got off her duel and stood in front of Naomi and Yuya with an unreadable smile. Naomi placed Yuya close to her so she could shield him. Yuya fought to protect her, so the least she could do was protect him by taking the hit for him if Haru tried to hurt Yuya physically.
Haru crouched down and looked closer at Naomi, who tensed up at the action. Haru grabbed one of her twin-tails and examined the hair color. "Now that I took a closer look, this hair color is green, not blue," Haru mumbled," it doesn't look like a wig either."
" Oi...what's your name?" Haru asked.
"Like I said before, my name is Naomi Kobiyashi. I'm not Akemi. I just have the same face as her, just like you and Yuki-san," Naomi replied, only to find her Synchro counterpart giving a huge sigh.
"Damn it!" Haru groaned "oh well, I'll find that sadistic bitch someday. Sorry for hurting your man in our duel and calling him names."
The Standard counterparts were surprised by the unexpected change in Haru. It was as if she had become a new different person from the one they'd met in the beginning.
"I'm guessing the person you're holding isn't the creepy smiling bastard, right," Haru said.
"That's right, Yuya-san doesn't have anything to do with Rin-san being kidnapped," Naomi confirmed. Haru backed away from the pair and punched the ground hard enough to make a crater. Naomi and Yuya flinched at the bloodlust Haru was currently emitting as it soon faded away.
"Crap, Gocchi, we got the wrong person. Let's get out of here!" Haru shouted. She grumbled when Yugo didn't seem to hear her. "I'll go get him so we can all sort out this misunderstanding between us. Stay right there. I'll be right back" Haru jumped back on her d-wheel and rode over to where Yugo was dueling Yuto.
Then something strange happened. When Akemi, wearing her hooded cloak, stepped out of the portal. Her birthmark started to glow a dark blue color causing Haru, Yuki, and Naomi's birthmarks to glow their respective colors brightly. Then the next thing that happened was that the four girls' birthmarks glowed and started to turn purple as they felt light-headed and collapsed in their respective spots.
Where Yuki is_
Yuki felt the grass underneath her as she opened her eyes and saw herself in a meadow. Yuki stood up, looked at her surroundings, and noticed the quiet and peaceful scenery.
The nostalgia made her eyes wet as it reminded her of Heartland, her home before it was destroyed, before Academia took the beauty away from Heartland and made it a battlefield where they fight for their lives every day just to survive Academia's ruthless strikes as sometimes they fought each other for supplies and food, but mostly have to fight Academia's soldiers and to protect people that can never protect themselves.
But seeing this scenery made it feel like all of that was a dream. There was no war going on. There was peace in Heartland. That it was all a nightmare, and when Yuki wakes up, she'll be in Heartland's park and sees all of her friends dueling each other with smiles on their faces. But all of that was an illusion because she knew that there was a war going on, that everyone she loved and cared about was carded, and that was the harsh reality she had to accept.
"It's just like," Yuki said.
"Heartland, right," a voice said as Yuki turned around and came face to face with a woman who looked around the age of 17 or 18. Her long purple hair stopped at her knees as her bangs covered her eyes. She is wearing a white dress.
"Who are you?" Yuki asked, getting into a dueling position as her action made the woman frown in dismay.
"Why do you do that? When some stranger comes towards you, you feel like you have the instinct to fight them?" The woman asked, "why do you do such a thing?"
"Why?" Yuki asked.
"It's because I have no choice ever since Academia invaded my dimension. We always have to be on our guard. We always have to keep our guard up because if we let it down, even for a second. Then we'll be attacked from behind," Yuki replied. "So I have no choice but to do this because I decided to keep fighting ever since that day! To make sure no one gets turned into a card, that no one cries, that no one gets hurt from what they have done. So, we all have no choice but to react to even the tiniest things and strangers such as yourself."
The woman looked as if she felt sorry for the girl that she had to experience such a horrible thing at such a young age, the people from the Xyz Dimension are suffering, and they're in pain because of the assault Fusion Dimension inflicted on them. But she could at least tell Yuki this.
"Just please, don't forget how to forgive others. Everyone makes horrible decisions and does not care if it affects other people regardless of whether you know them. Cause during this war, people will forget how to forgive each other, forget that they are all the same and that everyone makes mistakes that will cause more hatred to pile on to each other. So please, Yuki, don't ever forget compassion or forgiveness during this war," the woman begged as Yuki's eyes widened.
"How do you know my name?" Yuki asked as the woman gave a smile.
"Don't worry. When this time comes, you and the others will know everything," the woman responded, emitting a bright purple light as Yuki had to cover her eyes, and the entire scenery was covered in bright light.
Where Haru is_
Haru woke up and felt that she was just sleeping on the edge of a building as she had to lean back to make sure she didn't fall over. Haru saw that she was in the City and looked around and saw the tops and the commons. The view made her think of home. The truth was she liked her home despite having social disputes over wealth to see who stands top of the world. Well, all of that stuff didn't matter to her anymore, especially about what happened in the past. It just didn't matter. She doesn't need anything else as long as she has her friends and her d-wheel.
Then heard a woman sitting right next to her. She looked around the age of 17 or 18, and she had knee-length purple hair with purple bangs covering her eyes while wearing a white dress.
"Hello, how are you?" the woman asked.
"Eh, I'm doing okay. Actually, I just got myself passed out, and now I'm talking to you," Haru replied as the purple-haired woman laughed at her answer.
"You really are a blunt person, aren't you," the woman said.
"Yeah, my friends and those brats keep saying I should stop running my big mouth or else I would get hurt one day because of it. But I don't really care. "Is it because of what you experienced in the past?" the woman suggested as her words made Haru jump. Haru started to wonder how did this woman know about her past as it made Haru wonder who this strange woman was sitting next to her. Still, for some reason, Haru has a feeling that she could trust this woman about the emotional scars she has been carrying for a long time because of what happened in the past. So Haru just stood up and looked at the sky horizon, seeing the beautiful sunset that was right in front of her.
"Yeah, well, it is true about what happened in the past that caused me to act this way, but my past doesn't define me. It's creating my present self and eventually creating the person I want to be in the future," Haru replied, looking at the horizon as the woman looked at Haru and smiled softly at her answer.
"Alright, just remember what you said about your past creating you. It doesn't define you, alright. So remember your own words when someone brings up your past, alright" the woman commented, standing up on the ledge.
"Yeah, I will, whatever your name is," Haru said before a thought suddenly came into her mind. She doesn't even know this woman's name!?
"Hey, what's your name?" Haru asked. The purple-haired woman turned around and smiled.
"You'll know in due time, Haru," the woman answered as the entire area was covered in bright purple light.
Where Akemi is_
Akemi looked at her surroundings. She noticed she was in a field full of blue periwinkle flowers, which made her smile slightly at her scenery. The girl suddenly turned around, seeing it was a woman around 16-17 years old with knee-length purple hair wearing a white strap dress. "What do you want?" Akemi asked. The woman pressed her lips together.
"Do you know the difference between right and wrong? Do you understand that millions of people will die if you go through with this crazy insane plan?" The woman asked.
Akemi stared at the woman before laughing. "Oh my, if you don't want me to go through with the Arc Area Project. You could have just stopped me, but you didn't. I believe that you have no room to talk about what's right and what's wrong," Akemi remarked, "well, it doesn't matter if you stopped me or not. I will go through this crazy plan to find the truth."
One by one, the blue periwinkles start to turn into red spider lily flowers. "I will find the truth, no matter what it takes, and if you have a problem with how I do things, you will have to deal with it. Now goodbye," Akemi finished, turning around.
The mysterious woman was about to say something else, but she was trapped by the flowers that tangled her feet. She tried to free herself from the flowers as her moves proved useless, so she gave up for right now. She caused the flower field to blossom as a bright purple light shined in the area.
Where Naomi is_
When Naomi opened her eyes, she found herself in a forest. She stood up and walked around the mysterious yet calming forest. She called out to see if there was anyone in the forest, and much to her surprise, someone responded to her.
"I'm right here," the voice answered back. Naomi followed the sound of where she heard the voice, as it was revealed to be a knee-length purple-haired woman. She looked like she was around 17 or 18 years old. Her purple bangs covered her eyes as she wore a white dress.
"Hello, there. Who are you? Do you know this place?" Naomi asked. The hidden woman gave a crooked smile.
"I can't tell you that part, but this world exists within your heart," the woman answered. Her words made Naomi tilt her head in confusion.
"This world exists within my heart," Naomi repeated.
Naomi was in disbelief. If this is the world inside her heart, how come she doesn't see any animals or even duel monsters? Just when she was about to ask the woman another question, Clear, and Pendulum Kuriboh appeared out of nowhere. The two kuriboh monsters show Naomi affection by rubbing their fur against her cheek. Naomi patted each kuriboh respectively and cooed at their reaction to her pats.
Naomi heard laughter in front of her, revealing the source of the laughter to be the long-haired woman.
"You really love duel spirits, don't you" the woman gave a kind smile. Naomi couldn't help but be relieved or maybe touched by the woman's smile.
"Yes, they have been with me for as long as I can remember. When I'm with Eternia-san, Clear, Pendulum, and the others, I feel safe by their presence," Naomi replied. She felt she could tell the woman everything. Naomi has a strange feeling that this person was the same one who allowed her to Pendulum Summon in the first place.
"Very then, in the end, their voices will be the ones to guide you, Naomi," the purple-haired woman started. She walked towards Naomi, who took a step back every time the woman took a step forward until she backed into a tree.
"There will be challenges you will have to face. However, if you listen to your duel monsters' spirits, they will give you all the answers you need for this journey. This journey will have you question your goals, beliefs, and even yourself. However, if you can listen to their voices and, most importantly, your heart, then I'm sure you will have nothing to fear and nothing to hesitate on this journey," the woman said.
"W-who are you?" Naomi asked as the wind blew the woman's bangs to the side, revealing her face.
Naomi's eyes started to widen in disbelief.
"Y-you..?" Naomi said, trailing off as she felt herself waking up when she saw the forest enveloped in bright purple light.
Back to the real world_Central park_
After Yugo's duel, he finally snapped himself out of his enraged state as he was confused about what had transpired moments ago. But before he could process what happened, a golden-yellowish light sent him and unconscious Haru back to their dimension.
Back to where Yuya and Yuto is_
Yuto's duel with Yugo ended with his loss. He felt extremely weak and wanted to rest his eyes. Yuya ran over to Yuto and sat him up despite his injuries. The two of them were surrounded by blue light as each dragon was gleaming in response to each other. "Yuto! You'll be fine. Just hang in there, alright!" Yuya exclaimed. He was about to call an ambulance for his injured lookalike, who stopped Yuya from doing so with the touch of his hand.
"It's alright, Yuya...I'll be okay...I just feel weak...but strangely enough, it doesn't hurt..." Yuto replied, giving a warm yet tired smile.
"Yuya, I'm going...to need you to do me a favor, " Yuto whispered. He handed Yuya his ace monster. "Use my dragon...your dragon and your ability to make... people smile."
"Make people smile," Yuya repeated. Yuto managed to nod. He feels weaker and weaker by the minute. He had one more request for Yuya, and it seemed hard to tell him because he felt light-headed. But regardless, he will still tell Yuya's last request.
"Also...use your power to bring back Yuki's smile," Yuto muttered.
"Yuki's smile?" Yuya repeated.
"Yes...I would've liked to see a smile filled with hope and warmth, one more time... just... one more...time..." Yuto muttered before closing his eyes as he vanished in blue light.
In his final moments, he saw himself in a field. It was the same field he and Yuki spent together alone. It was their secret place that not even their friends knew about it. He looked in the distance and saw Yuki, looking at him with love and warmth in her eyes. She was wearing her outfit before the invasion, and he glanced down and saw himself in his casual clothes. She called his name in the usual sweet tone that he loved so much.
He ran towards her and embraced her. He felt her arms wrap around his neck. They embrace each other. They were finally glad to hold each other like this for so long. Yuki pulled away to place her forehead on his. She had watery eyes but a sweet smile. "You can rest now Yuto-kun. You've earned it," Yuki told him, and that's what he did. He closed his eyes as his vision turned to darkness.
Yuki, who was still unconscious, was crying in the real world.
Moments later, Naomi felt someone shaking her body furiously. "Wake up, Naomi-chan!" a familiar voice cried out, and Naomi opened one of her eyes. She saw a distraught Yuzu. The girl felt relieved that Naomi had opened her eyes.
"Yuzu-chan...Why are you at the park?" Naomi asked.
"My bracelet led me here. I was heading towards Central Park when it shined again, but this time its light was bigger than before" Yuzu explained the situation to Naomi about her bracelet that led her to where she is right now.
"But the most important thing is why isn't Yuya waking up?!" Yuzu exclaimed, motioning to an unconscious Yuya. Naomi got up quickly and ran towards Yuya, and what Yuzu said was true. He won't wake up no matter how many times she shakes him, and much to her shock, why does he feel so cold? She looked around and saw Yuki was still passed out, but when she squinted her eyes.
Naomi noticed tear stains on her lookalike's face. It makes her wonder what happened when she was unconscious. What exactly happened when she, Yuki, and Haru all passed out moments ago? It was as if the sickening feeling in her stomach had answered her question.
Something horrible had transpired that would change everything, and what happened tonight had turned the wheels of destiny.
