A/N: The fifth and final fic of the month for the special anniversary... man... any ways... Just a word of warning, this chapter won't go how you think it's going to go... I made a ton of changes... especially the end... I hope you like the twist... Enjoy!
Chapter 19: The Tower of Terror
They approached the town Lavender Town. After all it was the only hope for Ash to beat Sabrina (or rather he thought… thanks to rumors and Pokédex suppression they were much easier to beat).
"Did this place become night?" asked Luffy.
"I think the trip just took that long." Said Nami with a sweat drop.
"Oh that makes sense." Said Luffy with a sweat drop.
"So this the Pokémon Tower…" said Ash.
They all looked at it.
"Well since it's night time." Said Ash.
He got into his sleeping bag and decided to go to sleep.
However Misty decided to wake him up with a gong.
"We came here so that you would catch a Pokémon." Said Misty.
"Come on! Their just Pokémon and not regular ghosts." Said Zoro.
"Don't say that." Said Nami.
"Seriously? You're buying into it?" aside Zoro.
"Look we don't know about these things!" said Nami blushing, "I mean…"
Zoro just rolled his eyes.
He was going to have to play skeptic.
And it felt kind of wrong.
"Look… we need to get that Pokémon." Said Zoro.
"Come on! You get to capture a ghost" said Luffy, "Maybe I should try to catch one too! I've always wanted one."
"You two really aren't scared are you?" asked Misty.
"Nope!" said Luffy with a big grin.
Misty just sighed and face palmed.
"Come on we should we really get in there." Said Luffy.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but he's got a point." Sighed Misty.
They headed into the Pokémon Tower.
"You know I was kind of expecting a bunch of graves or something." Said Luffy.
"Why would you think that?" asked Ash.
Luffy shrugged.
The place was still pretty creepy none-the-less.
"Something's going to come out and jump us I know it." Said Misty.
"it's just Pokémon." Muttered Zoro.
"Who's to say if it I just Pokémon! There could be real ghosts." Said Misty.
Zoro just rolled his eyes at the younger girl.
That was when they arrived in what appeared to be a dining room.
"Oh yeah! Food!" cheered Luffy.
"I wouldn't eat that food." Said Nami.
"It could be have been out here for knows how long." Said Brock.
"Hey what's this?" asked Ash.
It had some sort of things that said "pull me".
"Ash that's probably some sort of trap." Said Nami.
"Oh come on! What's the worst that could happen?" asked Ash.
"Ash… that's the type of thing they say in horror movies." Sighed Misty.
However Ash pulled the room always which had a welcome sign.
And then all of the stuff in the room started to move on its own. The various chairs moves around and forced everyone on them.
"All right!" said Luffy.
He stretched out his arms grabbed everyone in to make sure they were safe.
However that was when everything stilled in the room.
That was when there were three ghost type Pokémon suddenly appeared and stared at Luffy.
They just stared at him unsure what do to.
After all it wasn't every day that someone meets a rubber man. Especially in a world where Devil Fruits didn't exist.
"Haunter…" said one that was a floating purple head with detached hands.
"Gastly…" said another which was a floating black and purple orb.
"Gengar!" said the third which was a round thing.
Ash and Luffy pointed their Pokédexes at them. However for all three of them there was very little data about them. Ghastly (the orb), Haunter and Gengar were their names.
"At least they're actually in the Pokédex…" said Misty.
"Yeah…" said Nami.
Haunter floated over to Luffy and began to stretch his cheeks dreaming out the other ghosts.
"Gastly…" said Gastly surprised.
"GENGAR!" yelled Gengar.
That when Gengar grabbed Luffy by the arms and dragged him out the room with a couple of ghosts following them.
"Chupi!" yelled Luffy's Pikachu.
"Did Luffy just get kidnapped by Ghosts?" asked Ash.
"He was…" sighed Nami.
"Not again…;" said Misty.
"I thought we agreed never to speak of that again." Muttered Nami.
"No I think someone getting kidnapped by a ghost warrants a "Not again…"." Agreed Brock.
"We need to follow them." Sighed Zoro.
That was when suddenly all of the doors in the room suddenly slammed closed.
"Okay! It looks like they don't want use following them." Said Nami.
"Like that's going to stop us." Said Zoro.
Zoro sliced down the doors.
"Everyone on your guard! And don't split up." Said Zoro taking charge.
They nodded and they knew they had search all thought out the tower.
And hopefully they would find him.
As they searched they found something odd for abandoned tower.
It was a room that was clearly a living room with snacks, couch and a TV playing bad comedies.
"Wait… this sorely a living room?" asked Misty.
"Ash if you say something about it being a "deading room" I'm going to smack you." Said Nami, "It's not the time for bad jokes."
"Seriously…" muttered Ash who was seriously considering making the joke.
"still no sign of Luffy though…" sighed Nami.
That was when they heard creepy music, like something belonging to a merry go round.
They looked at each other and headed towards the music.
Zoro had his swords out and was still taking the lead.
That was when they found a brightly lit room that look like a playroom including a merry go round that Luffy was riding.
All of them gaped at Luffy as he was having fun.
"Oh hey guys!" said Luffy.
They all stared Luffy.
"You've been having fun." Said Nami.
"Yeah… I've also trying to talk them into joining Ash so he can beat Sabrina!" said Luffy.
Nami was about to say something but…
"Okay… that second part makes sense…" she muttered begrudgingly.
"Has it been working?" asked Ash.
The three ghosts looked at Ash unsure.
"I have no idea…" said Luffy.
Ash sighed.
He did want to beat Sabrina… but these weren't Pokémon that he should just catch. These Pokémon had a home here. They had a playroom, a merry go round and other things.
It would kind of mean to take them away.
"I think we should find another place to catch ghost Pokémon." Said Ash.
"Wait… what?" asked Misty.
"They're happy here, I mean look at this playroom…" said Ash, "Not mention their deading room."
Nami walked over and punched Ash in the head.
"Nami…" cried Ash.
"I told you…" muttered Nami.
The ghosts laughed however due both the pun and the fact he got hurt.
Nami then sighed.
"But still that's a very mature thing…" said Nami.
She looked at Ash who nodded.
"Do you know why you were kidnaped?" asked Misty.
"It's because I'm a rubber man and they wanted to play with me." Answered Luffy.
"That makes sense." Said Brock.
The three ghost Pokémon looked at them.
"I think they want to play for a bit longer." Said Nami with a sweat drop.
"yeah…" said Misty.
"I guess I think we should just for a bit." Said Ash.
The two Pikachu's went to a swing set and the Ghastly pushed them.
After a while they were done and left a bunch of sad Pokémon behind.
"So… what are you going to do?" asked Misty.
"Maybe call Professor Oak and sees what he thinks." Said Ash, "I mean there's a lot of Pokémon we don't understand so maybe there's some kind of Pokémon that will also be strong against Psychic types."
"Haunter!"
They turned and saw it was Haunter.
"Wait! You do want to join Ash?" asked Luffy.
The Haunter nodded.
"All right!" cheered Ash, "Now I'll be able beat Sabrina."
"Haunter!" cheered Haunter.
They looked at the purpose ghosts Pokémon unsure however to reposed.
However it was Luffy of all people who realized something.
"Wouldn't it be a good an idea to catch it in a Pokéball so that it's officially yours?" asked Luffy.
"I mean if it's not in a Pokéball it might not count towards a Gym Battle…" said Nami.
"Okay you might have a point…" said Ash.
Haunter sighed but figured it would have to be done.
Ash readied a Pokéball and tossed it at Haunter.
However that was when suddenly a strange looking Pokémon that was humanoid and covered in blade ran past them only be caught in the Pokéball.
Everyone was confused by what just happened as the Pokéball shook.
However it got even weirder that it stopped shaking and Ash officially caught something.
"Uh…" said Ash.
"Did… did you just catch a Pokémon that wasn't the one you meant to catch…" said Misty.
"Uh…" said Ash.
Luffy took out his Pokédex.
"No available data." Said the Pokédex.
"It's one of those Pokémon." Said Brock.
"looks like it…" said Zoro.
Ash was still stumped and Haunter just shrugged it off.
Hopefully with Haunter not officially caught it would go towards him beating Sabrina.
However what Ash didn't know was that the Pokémon he captured was a Pawniard… a Pokémon that was made up of two types that few in Kanto knew about… And both of them types were actually immune to another type of Pokémon…
And little did Ash know was that things were going to complicated… very, very complicated due to that…
Next Time: Ash goes for a rematch and deicides to use Haunter anyways... but Haunter runs away before the match since he's not really Ash's Pokémon however his newest Pokémon is let out during for the Gym Battle and something very unexpected happens. What is it? Find out next time!
