Chapter 20: Psychic Immunity
Ash was excited that even though he had yet to official catch Haunter he still had a ghost type with him.
"Are you sure it's a good idea?" asked Misty.
"She might invoke a loophole just to bring us back into that toy box again." Said Nami
"I know! But I have to try!" said Ash, "I'm sure it will work out."
Everyone but Luffy sighed at this.
"You're right Haunter?" asked Ash.
Haunter happily agreed.
"Maybe…" sighed Brock.
"You know… maybe before you face off again Sabrina you should see what that Pokémon you caught is." Said Misty.
Ash remembered the mysterious Pokémon he caught.
"But I don't know if that would against Sabrina." Said Ash, "Even if I don't know what is it."
They approached the gym.
"All right! I can do this!" cheered Ash.
"Yeah You can!" said Luffy.
"Why haven't anyone from whoever runs the gyms showed up yet?" asked Zoro with a sweat drip realizing something.
"I have no idea…" sighed Misty.
They entered the gym with Ash ready for the match.
However as they headed to the room he didn't notice something.
Something was missing.
"So you want a rematch." Said Sabrina.
"That's right!" said Ash.
"Very well!" said Sabrina.
She floated towards the battle field.
"Of course if you lose you'll all have to play with me…" said her little girl.
The little girl threw the Pokéball cantoning Kadabra.
"All right! Go Haunter!" called out Ash.
But Haunter wasn't there… he had left.
"What…" cried Ash.
The members of the group all looked at Ash unsure how to respond to that.
"Haunter! Haunter where are you!" cried Ash, "Please I need you!"
"Send out another Pokémon." Growled out Sabrina.
"Or you're going back in the toybox." Said the little girl.
"Go Pikachu!" said Ash.
Ash's Pikachu looked at Kadabra but back away to the wall in fear.
"Okay! Go Bulbasaur! Charmander! Squirtle!" called out Ash letting all of them out.
They all looked at Kadabra and could fell the evil presentence.
Ash shook.
"Go!" called out Ash letting out his Pawniard.
Reminder: He didn't know what the Pokémon was…
"What is that Pokémon?" asked Sabrina raising an eye brow.
"I have no idea…" said Ash.
However the Pawniard looked at Kadabra and smirked.
IT looked at Ash and nodded.
Ash looked at his newest Pokémon and started to cry.
"Thank you…" he cried.
The Pawniard nodded.
"Ash… we have no idea what this Pokémon can do…" said Misty.
"She's right." Said Zoro.
"It's too late to back down now." Said Ash.
He looked at his Pawniard.
"I have no idea what you're attacks are…" sighed Ash.
His Pawniard shrugged as if to say "Don't worry about it."
"All right! We will begin this one on one match now!" said Sabrina, "Use Confusion."
Kadabra used the attack.
However…
Nothing happened.
"What./.." said Sabrina.
Even Kadabra was confuse.
"Psychic." Said Sabrina.
However the attacked once again didn't work.
"How…" said Sabrina.
Brock's realized something.
"I wonder…" said brock.
"Wonder what?" asked Misty,.
"Some Pokémon are immune to certain types." Said Brock, "Like how Ground Attack can't hurt flying and Electric Moves can't hurt Ground Types…"
"You think whatever the Pokémon is it's immune to Psychic attacks." Said Zoro.
Brock nodded.
"Interesting…" said Zoro.
"Uh… attack it somehow!" said Ash.
Pawniard shrugged and then it's hand began to glow white. The attack hit Kadabra who grunted in pain.
And Sabrina winced.
"Are you okay?" asked Ash.
"I am fine…" ,muttered Sabrina, "It's been a long time since I faced off an opponent who was strong enough to hurt any one of my Pokémon…"
"Wait… do you feel your Pokémon's pain?" asked Ash.
"Don't worry… it's not that bad…" said the little girl.
"It's fine…" said Sabrina.
Ash sweat dropped.
"Are they trying to make sure Ash doesn't feel bad that he hurts Sabrina?" asked Misty.
"Seems that way." Said Luffy.
Kadabra seemed to have recovered from the attack as well.
"Okay! Attack again!" said Ash.
That was when the Pawniard used an attack that was swiping many times at Kadabra.
"Ash!" called out Brock, "I recognize the move! That's Fury Swipes!"
"Oh I know one of the attacks!" said Ash happily.
"I would use that one too often though…" said Bork.
"Okay." Said Ash.
"Try to use Psychic again!" said Sabrina.
Kadabra tried to use the attack by nothing happened.
"Used teleport to dodge!" said Sabrina.
Thankfully Kadabra was able to do that at least.
However Pawniard was a rather quick Pokémon.
And was able to get in a couple hits with Fury Swipes.
However there was something Zoro noticed.
"It has a low pain tolerance." Said Zoro.
"What do you mean?" asked Misty.
"It doesn't get attacked that often so it's not used to pain." Said Zoro.
"Oh…" said Misty.
Kadabra was breathing heavily…
"Attack Kadabra again!" called out Ash knowing it as better to use an attack he didn't know than Fury Swipes.
Pawniard once again looked like it was smirking and it used a different attack and its arm turned a bright purple and it used an attack on Kadabra.
Kadabra got hit hard and was knocked out.
"Whatever that attack was it was Super Effective." Said Brock.
"All right!" cheered Misty.
"We won't have to go back into the Toy Box." Sighed Nami.
However Luffy looked at Sabrina and got a bad feeling.
"Something's about to happen." Said Luffy.
"What?" asked Misty.
"I beat Sabrina!" cheered Ash.
"You cheated…" growled out Sabrina.
"What?" asked Luffy.
Things began to float all around.
"You cheated!" she yelled out as her eyes began to glow a bright light.
Everything began to shake… even the little girl looked concerned.,
That was when everyone in that room disappeared in a bright flash of light.
With Haunter he had gotten a really bad feeling like he shouldn't have left Ash.
Elsewhere the "Jogger" sensed something was wrong.
"Something terrible just happened." said the "Jogger"
He knew he had to fix whatever happened but didn't know what…
Something inside Sabrina had broken and snapped. And no one was sure what was going to happen. Even with Psychic abilities…
