Hi fellow readers. This introduction might suck but I'll run it good as it goes since it's the first time I've decided to write in this platform.
Anyway I've decided to bring in my own story based on Freeform's Beyond, considering that there isn't a lot of Beyond stories( that sucks). Anyway, I am going to try on implementing a lot more action and life in this story, so I hope you really stick up for it and like it.
A little rundown in here before we push off in here, this is slightly plotted since this story is mainly sets in on Season 2 but with an AU twist; there is going to be a main OC(a female) that will served in the story as Holden Matthew's cousin and also the secondary opposing deuterogonist in this course, which that will be elaborate more in the climaxing point of the story but please feel free to drop in any creative, suggesting comments and we'll see how the story goes.
Authors Note:movie references, no negative criticism.
Disclaimer: I do not own Beyond, Freeform or the characters, expect the ones that I bring in.

Chapter 1
Somewhere in LA, California, 2017
Among the evening breezy air, several people were starting to buzz along through the noisy, crowded atmosphere in the city. Some of whom were most often newcomers vacationing from out of state impatiently waited for traffic to ease down.
(Background Song: Problems-The Monster Remix by Becky G)
Unnoticeable in the crowd, a young woman with shiny curly blonde hair, probably heading in her early 20s, walk hastily without no worries.
A homeless guy stops her at her track with a food can that he consistently shook to her face. The woman sincerely smile and appear to reach in her pocket for change but in an unexpected turn swiftly knocked the can hard onto the man's face, causing himself to lose balance and fell. Around a few moment later, she had a bright fluorescent pink cell phone in her hand pressed to her ear, clearly looking stressed.
….. I've already told you that I got a very important matter to attend tonight, so I won't be able to make it tonight Giselle", the woman said in a tense and firm manner. How unbelievable, she thought. She had lately been convening with agents that were offering her high rank movie leads. It had never been an intrusion on any of her plans, until today. And it wasn't better that her manager can't seem to sense the problem.
"This is a big decision and he wants to discuss it with you immediately, Maddie". The woman, actually named Madonna "Maddie" Bentley was a known popular singer and actress. She had made such raises in that pathway since she was 13 and there on reached toward a tremendous site of success. Her talent had caught the attention of a scout, who offered her a fully paid scholarship to Hollywood Arts, a diverse performing arts school and a record deal. Right then, certain change were made to keep her close to the recording studios; by the 2nd year into her fame, Maddie and her mom moved into a newly bought 10 acre estate. Despite of her achievements then, It never warranted her of stepping into her next top priority: film acting.
Maddie had actually done a few acting debut roles in some tv shows during the first few years in a while but it never headed up for her to do major films until she gained the chance as her popularity vastly increased, shortly before her 18th birthday. Giselle, her manager there had given her several orientations and warnings on acting business; one tip often brought up was: "Be on time if you ever meet with an agent". It was never a common issue; Maddie completely engaged wisely in her schedule but lately just a few days ago, she'd called her boyfriend, Brayden, whom she'd been going with in more than a year, and asked him out on a tremendous date, which she'd planned out just for today. The time seem to run smoothly but then she had an text from her manager alerted her of a surprise meet with an agent who might be willing to discuss about a potential role in an upcoming film.
Maddie thought very deeply of how she should trend this situation. She knew for one that she can't cancel. "How about tomorrow morning. I'll definitely have the moment to hear him out" A long pause come. In a short moment, Maddie was afraid Giselle was going to objected to that idea. Most agents don't stick around with standbys. This was Hollywood after all.
Then Giselle's voice came in. "That can be arranged but you better be there tomorrow, I'm not kidding."
Maddie beamed. "Great. I'll see you soon then" and then she hang up.
Maddie took a corner and walked into Starbucks. There was about enough time for her to refresh at her cool spot before heading out on her date. She walked to an open line and ordered a Dragon Passionfruit Refresher. Within minutes, her order was ready and quickly she pick it up without muttering a "thank you" or even to leave a single tip and narrowed herself to a seating near the window.
As she sipped her tarty drink and stared out into the blaring sunset, Maddie couldn't help but thought pridefully of how far everything had gone in spite of few hardships. All her songs were selling out half-wide internationally, several calls of movie deals, the works of a third album, the upcoming Oceania and Pacific/Southwest U.S.A leg tour next year. Everything was running good.
What can possibly be a worst thing for her to happen?
...
….
"WHADDA F***." one customer who was staring at the wall-screen tv, exclaimed loudly, snapping Maddie into reality. "YO TURN IT UP PLEASE!"
The barista rolled her eyes in annoyance and nonchalantly grabbed a remote and put up the volume slighter high. Almost everyone in the coffee shop settled their attention to an image on the screen in what appears to be a news-broadcast displaying of what looked to be a hospital.
A news reporter lady announced, " is one of the longest recorded comas in history, But today, that streak has come to an end ." By that instant, Maddie felt an instant strange gut feeling piling in parts of her insides. Oh please, It can't be what I think it is, she thought when she heard the name of the town but quickly reassured herself; it had to be a rare coincidence. The news reporter then continued on .
"after Holden Matthews was discovered awake in his bed at 7:15 this morning by one of the on-duty nurses. Now, we are being told he is in stable conditions. There is no word on whether or not he will be released..."
The news reporter continue to drone on in the topic but the slender blonde woman stop listening, her mind stuck on the two words that run like an echo.
Holden Matthews.
No.
No.
NOOOOOOOOO!
That can't be. It just can't be.
It was so f****** impossible. She hadn't heard of that name in around a whole while and until now, she'd tried really well to forget it.
(Background song ends)
In such a shock that she was in right now, the drink that was on her now gripped hand exploded drastically like a cannonball right all over her face.
TWO MONTHS LATER…
Fort Reed, Kansas
Holden Matthews stared in wonder at the ceiling as he layed down on a wide king mattress.
"This one's nice."he said and then stretch out of the large size bed. "Like look; My foot don't even touch the end". His parents had decided in checking out new beds at IKEA, considering how his room need to have a bit of an slighter adjustment. 12 years ago, they could've meet on redecorating his room but that all changed when Holden got into a car accident that ended up putting him to a long term coma.
To that result, the trauma of the coma caused his mind to travel to a spiritual dimension, called the Realm. It was where he'd meet Willa, who had help him survive the unpredictable dangerous outcomes that periled, along with the guidance of her grandfather, Arthur, the man who discover the plane existence of the Realm. Arthur taught Holden many knowledges of the Realm, including on how use his new-founded supernatural powers that the Realm granted. However, one unsuspecting factor would be that upon re-entering the living world, a person's memories of the realm can get lost but their powers remain intact.
Holden had later discovered this through the most unpleasant and messy ways.
It had been a month since he, Willa, his brother Luke and Jeff, who was the older brother of his friend Kevin, had escape Hollow Sky, a cult shadow organization. While in the several eyes of the public it appear to be a non-profit charity program, Hollow Sky had a more sinister hidden agenda; to contact the afterlife. The main irony was that it's founder, Isaac Frost had used to be the partner of Arthur so he had lot of ground of the Realm's elements.
Holden didn't stand Frost; not only because he was actually the biological father of Willa, who'd abandoned her at birth but in fact was the main cold-fished instigator behind everything. Frost had heard of Holden's "miracle" and possessed a complete interest in him so he did the worst possible things to get to him, even if others would be in harm; that included hiring a cunning hitman dubbed the"Yellow Jacket Man" to track down Holden, which had Kevin killed in the process, he had Luke held hostage and even trapped Willa in the Realm. And all for what? Just to see his dead wife? It was unbelievably nuts but now Frost was trapped in a comatose state after being consumed in the Realm, so Holden had no reason to worry about Hollow Sky touching him again, for now that is.
"Will this even fit?" Diane asked Tom in full uncertainty and concern, breaking Holden from his thoughts
"Of course, it'll fit." Tom reassured.
"I mean through the door."
"Well the bed comes in pieces, then you assemble it" Tom explained.
Holden studied the front of the bed frame and touch it for a second. "It's sturdy".
Tom went over to the nearest clerk and asked about the material of the frame. Shortly after, he came back with a full sigh. "Costs next to nothing."
"I like it"Holden replied with a smile. " I think it's the one"
His mother stared on in full melancholy and seemed to try to restrain herself from literally crying as if she was recalling a distant memory. She then sat next to the side of the bed with her son.
Holden was taken a bit surprised and confused of her demeanor. "It's all right mom, it's just a bed."
Diane stood in deep thought for a second as if to try to compose herself of an emotional break point. "It's not just about the bed, it's your bed. You sleep on that bed since you were 3 years old. You called it your "big boy bed". She then discusses in how in the early days , she'd tucked him in, curling up beside him when he had a bad dream and sleeping in the bed when he was in the hospital.
When she finished, Holden couldn't help but see her painful struggle. His mom was one of the only ones who took his coma really hard. She had even blamed his dad for giving him the bike that he used on the day of his accident which had brought him to the "Realm" but in some moment, his mom, a strong Christian, hold onto the strong faith that he could revive; that was the reason she had doctors place him on life support. Holden did not want to press much more pain to her.
"I can stay in the basement with Luke" he suggested but Diane shooked her head.
"No, no, " she said with a mustered confidence. "for the least, it's time that we should try to start thinking of you as an adult."
"We're all good , nothing to see here" Tom reassured to a clerk and a few shopper who were strangely staring at the emotional scene.
"Beside, someone else is going to fill in the basement for a while." Diane slowly began to crack a small smile.
Holden was now confused and a bit amused at that point. "What are you guys talking about?"
"Well, your mom invited a few relatives to stay over for a few weeks, in fact they're coming today ." Tom announced.
"Guilty as charged" Diane chimed in and finally started to laughed in slight embarrassment. "It was supposed to be a surprise for you, Holden. Since it's been a while that you've been awake, we thought it'd be good to reconnect with the rest of the family. You know, all your cousins, well a hundred to be exact, were really crazy on seeing you since you woke up." Holden knew that that wasn't a silly exaggeration; his mom was half-British from her maternal blood, so there were a lot of extend families. To be complete honest, he'd couldn't recall the last times they'd had a full gathering but there had been quite a few cousins and others that came around a few times before the coma. He even remember at that point, that Mom's sister lived in Fort Reed for a while; Diane later him that she'd left town and moved to California.
Holden wondered which one of his cousins were visiting but before he could ask, the three were immediately at the check-out line, waiting for the bed packaging.
A while later, Holden persistently try to assemble his new bed with Luke.
"I get it. It's hard for her to move on but we are moving on". Holden had just explained to Luke of the event that happened at the store. He knew as much as how concern his mom was, it was still overwhelming. . "I can't just be stuck in the past. I need to be able to have a life."
"You do have a life" Luke pointed out.
Holden laughed. "Well, I want your life."
"You want to slave over caramel macchiato at the Shangri Latte" Luke jokefully retorted.
Holden shrugged " I don't know, maybe. I want the freedom to figure things out like a normal 25 year old." he said, knowing that at the least, now that he was way past the Realm, a steady life would be simple and less stressful compared with his experiences there.
"But you're not a normal 25 year old." Luke interjected. "I'm sorry but it's true." Holden felt a sudden pang deep inside and knew exactly that he meant, knowing for sure that it was the unfortunate truth. Most 25 year olds don't wake up from 12 years in a coma with possession of any supernatural abilities , they don't have creepy nightmares that causes them to sleepwalk to the woods, they don't have hallucinating visions of Soul Eaters or even in the longest road, blow up the bridge to possibility save a fraction of humanity.
"I mean, you take a job with Dad" Luke continued. " when you could be out there, making a difference and you know, helping people-"
"I get it. With great power, blah blah blah" Holden interrupted in deep exasperation. "But Willa is safe. Mom and Dad, we're all safe. I'm done with these powers." Luke should know, he thought, that there were enough adventures spent from Hollow Sky to realize the potential dangers of exposing his abilities so why bother the chance "Besides, all I want is a bed that fits".
The two of them had just now done the final finish of the bed, so they proceed in placing the mattress on top. For a few seconds, it actually looked as if it perfectly but suddenly the bottom side of it collapsed.
"New bed, huh?" Luke had to almost laugh.
"I doubt it won't fit with some extra ducktape" Holden replied. The two then lifted the mattress out and start on adjusting the part in where it had just collapsed. As they continued working, Holden's mind drifted back to his mom's announcement about the relatives who staying over. He wonder of what Luke know about this. Anything better to clear off the air from earlier.
"You have an idea of who Mom invited?" Holden asked.
Luke shrugged "I got no clue but all I could bet for is that it better not be the Wicked Terror." he shuddered mockfully when he made that last statement.
Holden was confused. "Wha?"
Luke then explained."You know way back then, Aunt Rosie, well you know, mom's sister, she always used to come over a lot of times with her daughter; I think her name was Mads or somethin'."
It was to that instant that Holden had a glimpsing recollection of who Luke was talking about. He kinda remembered Mads. She was much younger than Holden & slightly much older than Luke. Her name wasn't exactly Mads though( His aunt had once mentioned that her real name was after a popular singer). From what he'd recalled, she was extremely tight with him and Kevin despite the 5-year differences. Anywhere they'd go, Mads always tagged along, even at the water tower. She often brought along stacks of cookies since back then, she was on the girl's scout.
"Well, I gotta keep it real to you," Luke said advisely "Watch your back if she's here". Holden stared at him in full disbelief.
"What's so bad of her that you call her the "Wicked Terror, her last time I left off, she was sweet as a gumdrop button."
"Live update: More like icy sour now; she'd be very condescending sometimes lately, even at towards mom whether you believe me or not" Luke inputted. "Oh, and yeah, she never even went to the hospital on all the times she visited".
Before Holden had the chance to set a rebuttal, the doorbell rings simultaneously. Both the two brothers left their task on pause and headed instantly down the stairs as they saw Diane reaching for the door.
As she open it, there stood a older woman who looked to around in her early to mid 40s, sporting dark blonde hair, she also had a near foot length gray shirt-dress. Holden thought she look a bit familiar though he couldn't quite fit it.
"Oh my goodness, sis, it's such a while that we've seen you." the woman exclaimed as she went and embraced Diane in a deep-warm hug. She stopped and turned her attention right to Holden. "Hi, its your Aunt Rosie, I wasn't sure if you remember me well or not but it's so great to see you after so long ." She pull him in a fast tight hug. Holden was certainly positive that it was indeed his aunt Rosie, she would always give out huge hugs, if his memory was correct. " Your mom has sure talked a lot of good things about you. She told me that you recently took a warehouse job".
"Yep, that's right" he said; Tom had offered Holden a part-time position at the stock warehouse that he takes charge of. Just all of a sudden, Holden turned an curious eye. " Wait a minute. You said " we" earlier. Is Mads here?
"I think you mean Maddie" his aunt replied. "Yes, she is, she's just helping me out with the luggage in our rental car so she should come by any second. Oh, here she is now."
As soon as Aunt Rosie's back was fully turned , Luke gave him a quick pat on the shoulder as if to say "Get ready". Holden was now starting to get really nervous. And there he saw her.
She stood before him, with glossy curly blonde hair dangling on her shoulders. She was a slight complete contrast of the little friendly gap-tooth faced 8-year old plump girl , her figure was now fiercely curved and beautifully shaped.
A silence intense dark hush brushed in between the two, it felt as if longing hours had driven. Then finally she spoke.
"Hello, cuz." Maddie said sweetly with a smile but her tone discreetly bitter and hostile.
"Oh shit" Luke mutter to himself. This was gonna be a long week.
..And boy, it was about to be true.
Well, here's chapter one. Took me long but it's all the worth. Please drop in any review in what you want to suggest happens and I'll considering adding it to the plot
Why has Maddie changed into such a different person, and will Holden be able to figure out why later on?
Will Holden ever take Luke's word to use his powers for the better good, even if it means endangering his family or try attempt to live a functioning normal life without them?
What will Maddie want to do while spending time in the Matthews house?
Find all those out in the next following new chapters, so keep an open eye out for it. And HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!
P.S: Since the show never disclose Holden's full family background, I decided to inserted Holden in of being part British descent from least his mom's maternal side(meaning her mom is from England)
