3. Welcome To 1A
Story Start: UA Campus
So it turns out that when she doesn't have to worry about keeping her hair relatively short in order to use less shampoo and conditioner Uraraka REALLY likes trying out new hair styles. In the last two weeks I've seen her now mid back length hair in ox horns, odangos, pigtails, low, mid, and high ponytails, and five different types of braids (of various levels of success, thankfully for Ochako Inko started helping her five days in). At the moment, Ochako's hair was in a simple braid down her back as she walked on Izumi's left, with me on my best friend's right. Izumi was chattering away a mile a minute, the just as excited Uraraka talking just as animatedly while I was content to just listen. Needless to say, the brunette had managed to slip fairly smoothly into being Izumi's friend.
Me and her on the other hand would depend entirely on if she'd ever forgive me for dragging her to the Mixed Martial Arts club where she spent the first half of the first meeting learning how to properly fall before being taught the best way to deflect punches and kicks. (Our teachers had all agreed starting her on deflection was better than punches given her Quirk.) That said, Uraraka had rather enjoyed learning Parkour the next day.
Now though, Parkour was pretty far back in my mind as we entered the main building of UA and headed for our classroom. We were early enough that only Iida, Yaoyorozu, and Todoroki were present. When the three looked towards us, I gave them a respectful nod which the first two returned but the third ignored.
'Well that was rude.' I thought with rolled eyes as I quickly found my desk. Once seated, I pulled out my sketch book then took off my right shoe, placing it upside down on my desk so that way I could see the tread on the front half. I did this because my current sketch was someone walking down the shore of a forest lake to the water with the perspective low enough you could see the footprints and I wanted to copy the tread pattern, though I'd have to extrapolate on the heel part given my shoe had mesh there.
But before I could put pen to paper, Iida was suddenly right by me chopping his arm robotically as he demanded "What do you think you are doing? Placing your shoe on the desk like that is an insult to the ones who built it and our predecessors who have used it! Remove it at once and put it back on immediately!"
I gave Iida a lazy look for ten seconds then said "Okay, first of all, chill bro, it's not like my shoe is caked in mud or anything. Second of all, you sir are being incredibly rude just coming up here and making demands like that. Last time I checked, you're not my father so kindly back off and mind your own damn business before I take this shoe and leave a tread on your face."
"Excuse me?!" Iida asked, taking a step back in alarm.
"I'd listen to her, she did it before back in middle school when a kid from another class thought it would be funny to steal her drawing pencils." Izumi warned from her seat behind me. Uraraka laughed a little nervously, the brunette having followed us to our side of the classroom to continue talking with Izumi.
When I picked up my shoe in warning Iida quick stepped back to his seat. Once he was seated though, Izumi leaned forward and asked "What's wrong? Normally you're not that blunt until the second time someone gets on your nerves."
I scowled and said "No clue, there's just something about that guy that rubs me the wrong way." On further thought, it had to be that 'everything must follow the rules' mindset. It was going to get the guy killed if he went out into the field with it given what we were going to be trained to fight against.
Shaking my head, I put my shoe back down on my desk and began drawing. I would look up when the rest of the class entered but other than returning greetings if given any, I went right back to my work. Two minutes before homeroom was slated to start, I put my supplies back and my right shoe back onto my foot. Izumi, bless her learned synchronicity with me, flipped her latest notebook closed and also stowed it and her writing tools away. Uraraka took her cue from the pair of us and after saying one last word to Izumi quickly moved across the room to take her seat.
Looking around once my art supplies were put away, I blinked when I saw that Uraraka wasn't the only girl with long hair when she was supposed to have short hair. Mina and Jiro both had long hair that while not as long as Izumi and my waist length ponytails went down to at least their mid backs. And given Momo and Tsuyu still had their hair kept the expected length, it would not surprise me to learn that Hagakure kept her hair fairly long as well. That was going to take some getting used to seeing I'll admit.
When the bell rung, the door slid open and there stood Aizawa in all of his exhausted glory, yellow sleeping bag held in his left hand. There was confused muttering from most of the students at his appearance. ("Is he really a Pro Hero looking like that?" "What's with the sleeping bag?") Seeing the narrowed eyes on Aizawa's face, I barked out "Homeroom Teacher present, eyes forward and mouths shut!"
That got the room quiet real quick and Aizawa nodded to me in approval as he said "It seems one of you is rational at least." Turning his attention to the class as a whole, he continued "It took you eight seconds before you all shut up, and only because Bakugo told you to. That isn't going to work, time is precious. Rational students would have known that. Anyway, as your classmate stated, I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa, nice to meet you I guess."
There was a chuckle from behind Aizawa and a gaunt hand clapped itself on his shoulder as Yagi said behind him "Come on Aizawa, at least act like you want to be here the first time you meet your new students."
Aizawa grumbled at that causing Yagi to chuckle even as he slipped past Aizawa into the room. (Which was rather easy given his gaunt form.) As all of Class 1A looked confused at the man wearing a UA gym uniform that appeared to be just skin and bones (Except for Izumi who looked to be about two seconds from panicking) Yagi raised up his right hand in greeting and grinned as he said "Yo, Class 1A, welcome to UA's Hero Course! The name's Toshinari Yagi, and like you, today's my first day here as a member of the staff. Believe it or not, I've got a Masters in Physical Education, and as such, I'm here as a Consultant to ensure each and every one of you is in the best physical shape for Hero Work. We'll be having one on one meetings starting next week but I figured it would be best to introduce myself to you now since you'll likely see me around campus now and then." His grin then turned sharp as he said "Plus hanging around for what's coming will let me get a good up close look at what you're all capable of rather than having to watch you and several others from a tv screen like we did during the entrance exam."
"Which brings us to your first activity in UA's Hero Course." Aizawa stated as he reached into the sleeping bag pulling out a gym uniform as he said "You'll find a gym uniform like this one fitted to your measurements in your desk. Go get changed in the locker room then head out to Testing Field Kilo. You have fifteen minutes, get going."
I immediately lifted the top of my desk and grabbed my gym uniform before I quick walked out. It took a few moments but soon the rest of the class had followed my lead. Changing quickly, I was the first one out on the field where Yagi and Aizawa were waiting.
I gave Aizawa a brief look before I glanced at Yagi and said "I wasn't expecting to see you the first day here sir."
Aizawa's gaze sharpened slightly as he asked "You knew him before today Bakugo?"
"Yagi-Sensei helped my best friend learn how to not blow her limbs off when her Quirk came in super late two years ago Aizawa-Sensei." I stated calmly. No need to bring up the fact that he had been training her much earlier than that. It would make people ask questions we didn't want being asked if they knew All Might, Number One Pro Hero, had been training a then Quirkless kid who was no longer Quirkless.
Aizawa gave a lazy blink and stated "I see. Strength Enhancement. Interesting Quirk considering her father's Quirk allows him to breathe fire and her mother's is a minor gravitonic pull Quirk." (I wasn't surprised Aizawa knew that since UA did ask what the quirks of a student's parents' were just in case it became relevant to training said student's own Quirk.)
"It's not the first time a telekinetic Quirk is used to enhance strength." Yagi said with a shrug.
"True enough." Aizawa allowed before he gave Yagi a hard look and said "I hope I don't have to remind you not to play favorites while you are here."
Yagi looked pretty damn offended as he said "Aizawa, they are all my students now, not just Midoriya. I will teach them all equally."
Aizawa nodded with a grunt then his eyes flicked over my shoulder. A glance back showed the rest of the class heading towards us. Looks like we were out of time for our little talk.
Soon enough, the rest of Class 1A was gathered in front of the two teachers with me somehow winding up standing next to Tsuyu and Koda of all people. Giving us a tired onceover, Aizawa said "Right, now that you're all here, we can begin the Quirk Assessment Test."
"A Quirk assessment test?!" most of the class repeated in surprise.
"What about the entrance ceremony? The Orientation?" Uraraka asked.
"If you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events." Aizawa stated causing some of the students to look at each other in surprise as he continued "U.A.'s selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are. That's also how the teachers run their classes." Pulling out his phone and holding it up showing a list on its screen, he said "You kids have been doing these in middle school right? Physical fitness tests where you weren't allowed to use your Quirks. The country still uses averages taken from results from students not using their Quirks. It's not rational. Well, the Ministry of Education is procrastinating."
Turning his gaze onto Izumi, he stated "Midoriya, you finished at the top of the practical exam, right?" At her nod, he continued "In middle school, what was your best result for the softball throw?"
Izumi's eyes flicked up as she mentally pulled up the stat before she looked back down and said "85 Meters Sensei." (I had 75 if you were wondering)
Aizawa nodded and said "Then try doing it with your Quirk." He gestured towards a nearby circle that had measurement markings leading away from it set in two lines with a softball with a sensor ring around it already waiting inside. As Izumi moved and picked up the ball, Aizawa continued "You can do whatever you want as long as you stay in the circle. Hurry up, give it all you've got."
"No, stay at 15% Young Midoriya." Yagi stated with crossed arms.
Aizawa scowled at Yagi and said "I won't teach someone who won't give it their all."
Yagi gave Aizawa an unimpressed look and stated "Then you can tell Recovery Girl why she has to fix all of the bones in Young Midoriya's arm on her first day here. Her Quirk is still too powerful to go all out, even after two years of training it under my guidance once it manifested. Young Midoriya was capable of using 14% during the entrance exam two weeks ago so I believe that at this point 15% is perfectly reasonable. This is not a life or death situation after all."
There was surprised muttering from the rest of the class, mainly about Izumi's Quirk coming in so late and already having training from one of their teachers. More than a few wondered if Izumi was the reason why U.A. had brought Yagi in to help the students. It made me briefly smirk in amusement. Oh, if they only knew how he was going to help in other ways...
Aizawa and Yagi had a brief staring contest, no more than five seconds really, before Aizawa sighed and admitted "Logical." He then glanced at Izumi and nodded.
Izumi nodded back and her whole body lit up in green lightning, red veins forming over her exposed skin as she turned to face the range lines. Her left knee came up as she drew the ball back then she stepped forward and let it fly, creating a brief burst of wind as the ball shot up into the sky.
As all of the students tracked the sphere that steadily got smaller, Aizawa stated "Know your maximum first. That is the most rational way to form the foundation of a hero." His phone beeped and he turned back to the rest of the class to show it: 1,003.7 meters.*
"Over a kilometer?!" several people shouted in surprise followed by Momo who asked "And that was at only 15%?"
"Damn that's Manly!" Kirishima said with a grin.
I had a different reaction though, looking back towards Izumi and asked "Zuzu, you good?"
Izumi closed her eyes and took a deep breath. On the exhale her Full Cowling faded away and she gave me a thumbs up as she said "I'm good Kat!"
Of course, it was at that point that Mina had to open her big pink mouth.
"Oh my, this looks like it's going to be fun!" The acid user said with clapped hands.
Sero didn't help matters when he added "We can use our Quirks as much as we want! As expected from the hero course!"
"'It looks fun,' huh?" Aizawa asked.
Even knowing that it was coming, I slapped my hand to my face and said "Oooh, now you've done it."
"Huh?" the majority of the class asked, looking towards me.
Their attention was turned back to Aizawa as he said "You have three years to become a hero. Will you have an attitude like that the whole time?" Gaining an evil smile, he said "All right then. Whoever comes in last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential and will be punished with expulsion."
"HUUUH?!" all but a few of the students shouted. Only Momo, Todoroki, Izumi, and I hadn't shouted, and Izumi only didn't count because she gave a horrified whine from where she was still standing in the circle.
"The lowest scorer will be expelled?!" Uraraka shouted in alarm before continuing "It's only the first day! I mean, even if it weren't, that's totally unfair!"
I snorted causing everyone to look at me again as I stated "As someone who has been attacked by a Villain before and wound up in the hospital because of it, allow my indulging in cliché Uraraka when I ask, since when is life fair?"
Everyone looked back at Aizawa as he said "Your classmate is right. Natural Disasters, Highway Pileups, Rampaging Villains...Calamity is always right around the corner. I'd say Japan is full of unfair things. And it certainly doesn't have a monopoly on trouble either. Heroes are the ones who correct all that unfairness. If you were hoping to spend your evenings hanging out at McDonald's, I'm sorry to tell you that for the next three years, U.A. will run you through the wringer." Aizawa gave the come gesture with his right pointer finger as he said "That's Plus Ultra. Use your strength to overcome it all. So Bring IT."
"Aizawa is right." Yagi stated, sharply grinning at us as he held his right fist clenched tightly in front of him, his blue eyes beginning to shine as he continued "If you are going to be a Hero then you cannot afford to hold anything back, and that includes all you do in this school. You must give it everything that you can, and then give it some MORE!"
Everyone's backs stiffened at the two teachers' small but meaningful speeches. Iida pulled a water bottle out and took a sip of the orange juice in it in preparation while Sato pulled a baggy holding sugar packets out as well.
Smirking at us, Aizawa said "Demonstration's over, let's get started."
Fifty Meter Dash
Me and Izumi being seat 17 and 18 out of 20 respectively gave me plenty of time to talk with her. As Mina and Aoyama took their starting positions, I gently nudged Izumi and quietly asked "Are you really alright Zuzu? I remember what happened when you tried to use 10% too soon."
That had given me an almost literal heart attack, watching Izumi's entire leg turn black and blue within seconds after she had tried to leap up a twenty story building from the ground floor. Thank god Gran Torino told her to only use one leg because while she had managed to make the jump, that leg had been useless for an entire week after while the damaged muscles healed.
Izumi smiled and said "Don't worry Kat, I'm fine. I'll admit I've got that pins and needles feeling all over but it's getting better already."
I gave her a flat look and said "Zuzu, you've got seven more tests, with a good chunk of them applicable for a strength Quirk like yours. It might be pins and needles now but it could get much worse by the end of the day."
Izumi held her right hand up in the classic oath making position and said "I swear that the moment it actually starts hurting I'll tell Mister Yagi and Aizawa-Sensei, alright?"
I kept my flat look on her for a few more moments before I looked away from her towards the running lanes with a sigh and said quietly "Alright." I swear, sometimes being the best friend of the main character was hell on my nerves.
All of the other students performed the quick race as expected. When it was Izumi and my turn, Izumi activated full cowling again and I leaned forward, arms behind me and right heel lifted to a twenty degree angle. When the gun shot went off we tore down that short track like we had the ghost rider on our heels. We skidded to a stop when we passed the robot. Izumi was just a second faster than me, getting 3.25 seconds to my 4.14 seconds and at my questioning look gave me a thumbs up.
Test 2: Grip Strength
Getting 105 kg wasn't really anything to write home about, but it certainly wasn't something to sneeze at either. Izumi though managed to hit 485 kg on hers, pretty darn close to Shoji's three handed 540 kg. I frowned though when I saw her flexing out her fingers as Full Cowling turned off. Then a loud noise filled the air and we saw Yaoyorozu using a hydraulic press, maxing out her grip tester.
"Oh come on, how's that fair?!" Kaminari complained.
"We were told to use our Quirks where applicable." I told him with a shrug.
Kaminari grumbled some more only to fall silent as Aizawa said "Enough, save your breath for the rest of the tests."
Test 3: Long Jump
Uraraka had the best distance for this from the rest of the class, going three hundred meters past the sand before Aizawa told her to stop. She dropped into a roll before jogging back, holding her stomach with one hand. Izumi and I rubbed at her back until she was feeling better.
Izumi didn't do too shabby either, going fifty meters past the end of the sand pit.
But while Izumi might have had strength in her legs, I had thrust. Leaping up into the air, minor explosions came from both hands and feet and allowed me to go three hundred meters past the end of the sand. Then just to be cheeky, when Aizawa called out that that was far enough, I just turned in the air and blasted my way back, coming to land next to him and Yagi who gave me a thumbs up.
Test 4: Repeated Side Steps
As I had expected, Mineta blew this event out of the water when he bounced between two piles of his Sticky Balls. I might not have been able to match his speed but letting out quick explosions from my hands allowed me to do better than any of the others. Izumi though couldn't actually use OFA for this test since it would have sent her meters through the air each time she hopped. Still, getting a hundred in a minute wasn't too bad for her.
Test 5: Ball Throw
Uraraka had an eager grin on her face when she entered the circle. The girl gave a high throw that made the ball go a steep seventy degree angle and she then just stood in the circle with a hand shading her eyes as she watched it disappear. Eventually Aizawa's phone gave a reading and he turned it around to show it to us.
"INFINITY?!" Most of the class shouted in disbelief.
"That's insane, how's that possible?!" Kaminari asked in disbelief.
"Most likely the ball just left the sensor's signal range." I said even as I gave Uraraka a high five. (Well, high four given she made sure not to hit my hand with her pinky)
"Yes, well given that the range of the transmitters on the ball is fifty kilometers, I think we can safely say that we'll let that score stand as a 'Yes'." Aizawa stated flatly.
That earned more shouts of disbelief only for Aizawa to get the class back in order for the testing to continue.
When it was my turn to throw, I idly tossed the ball a few times before I looked over at Yaoyorozu and said "Hey Yaoyorozu, can you make Jiro some ear protection? I'm not going to stick with small explosions for this one."
"Oh, yes certainly." The Creation User said as her forearm glowed for a moment before the kind of ear protection people working at airports wore popped out.
Once Jiro had the ear protection on and the others had hands over their ears (and behind the nearby fence thirty meters away which was holding Momo created transparent blast shield plastic), I entered the circle. But instead of throwing the ball right away, I put it on the ground before cupping my hands around my mouth and shouted out "FIRE IN THE HOLE!" Turning to my left, I again shouted "FIRE IN THE HOLE!" Turning to my right, I shouted one last time "FIRE IN THE HOLE!"
With that bit of safety procedure taken care of, I picked up the ball and adopted a throwing stance as I called out "IN THREE, TWO, ONE!"
BOOM!
It was like a hundred pound bomb had gone off in my hand. Ten seconds later my hearing aid like noise cancellers finally allowed me to hear again and there was still a rumbling in the air. I gave it another few seconds before I called over my shoulder "ALL CLEAR!"
"HOLY CRAP DUDE, THAT WAS AMAZING!" Kirishima shouted as everyone else moved from behind the fence and back towards me.
"I am SO glad you had Yaoyorozu make me that noise canceller." Jiro said, rubbing at her ears as said Ear phones hung around her neck.
"What was the distance Aizawa-sensei?" I asked as I flexed my hand to get the stinging out.
"Nine hundred and ninety six point seven meters." Aizawa stoically stated.
"Damn, that's almost as much as Midoriya's!" Mina said in amazement.
"How are you holding up Kat?" Izumi asked as she came over and began looking over my hand.
"Oh you know, pins and needles, but otherwise fine." I said and my best friend gave me a flat look for mimicking her own words from earlier.
Yagi meanwhile gave a loud laugh as he came over and (lightly) slapped my back as he said "Excellent showing Young Bakugo!" He then gave me a thumbs up and said "And I'm glad to see that you follow the safety protocol of using large explosives."
"Yes, yes, it's good that she follows safety procedures, but we're wasting time just mouthing off, whoever's next should do their throw." Eraserhead stated tiredly.
"Ah man, I gotta throw after that?!" Mineta whined as he moved to pick up one of the balls by the circle.
I had absolutely no pity for the kid. Not after the way I saw him looking at me and the other girls of the class.
Test 6: Sit Ups
I had my gym uniform top off leaving me only in a sports bra as small but relatively powerful explosions from my back propelled me upwards before I dropped back to the floor. Beside me, Izuku was a green blur as OFA boosted her muscles allowing her to go much faster than normal.
When our minute ended, we traded positions with Yaoyorozu and Uraraka respectively. As Yaoyorozu created a strap around her torso that connected to straps on her legs with bungie straps to pull her up faster, I glanced over at Izumi and asked "How are you holding up Zuzu?"
Izumi gave me a thumbs up before putting her hands on Uraraka's feet as she said "I'm doing fine Kat. What about you, is your back alright?"
"Yeah, I'm good." I said as I put my top back on (ignoring Mineta's shout for me to leave it off) before leaning down to take Yaoyorozu's feet as well.
Test 7: Toe Touches
Explosions and super strength weren't really conductive to reaching past a certain point but thanks to our MMA and Parkour training Izumi and I were pretty damn flexible. Asui and Shoji though blew the test out of the water with her long tongue and him making several extensions on his arms. Tokoyami did well also with Black Shadow, though Aizawa did make him do it a second time with his own limbs. (The shadow pushed him from behind the second time.)
Test 8: Long Distance Run
Disregarding Yaoyorozu making an electric scooter, (it was RUNNING Momo, not riding! At least the hydraulic press had been doing the action we were supposed to be doing!) Iida was the best at this test. Both Izumi and I weren't too shabby though, the pair of us making it into the real top 5. (Well, real in my mind.) Izumi had me cracking up during the first lap though since during the entire run she used One For All to take running leaps that made it look like she was working with lunar gravity rather than earth gravity. After that first lap though, I figured she had the right idea and began launching explosions out of my heels to give the push off of my steps a little more 'oomph', adding explosions from my hands both for balance and just a little more distance to my 'skips'. It took a bit to fall into a proper rhythm without having to think about it since I was used to using less forceful explosions at a faster pace for speed rather than 'length of stride' but by the third lap I had settled properly into the new routine.
Once the run was over and everyone had had a chance to catch their breath, Aizawa gathered everyone together and said "Alright, your scores have all been compiled. It'd be irrational to go over all of the events so I'll just be showing you the overall scores.
1. Yaoyorozu Momo
2. Midoriya Izumi
3. Bakugo Katsumi
4. Shoto Todoroki
5. Tenya Iida
6. Tokoyami Fumikage
7. Shoji Mezo
8. Ojiro Mashirao
9. Kirishima Eijiro
10. Ashido Mina
11. Uraraka Ochaco
12. Koda Koji
13. Sato Rikido
14. Asui Tsuyu
15. Aoyama Yuga
16. Sero Hanta
17. Kaminari Denki
18. Jiro Kyoka
19. Hagakure Toru
20. Mineta Minoru
"NOOOO!" Mineta shouted, tears of blood coming out of his eyes as he continued "HOW AM I GOING TO GET MY HANDS ON THE OPPAI NOW?!"
Yagi's brows furrowed and Aizawa's eyes narrowed dangerously. The looks of the students towards him that had started sympathetic quickly turned to disgust (especially the girls').
Mineta was almost instantly wrapped tightly in Aizawa's capture scarf and he was somehow raised up into the air as Aizawa coolly stated "Normally, I use the threat of expulsion during this test in order to light a fire in my students, they tend to put their all into it that way, those that don't get kicked out regardless of their placement since I won't teach someone who doesn't take Hero training seriously." Aizawa's eyes briefly flicked towards Todoroki and the student stiffened for a moment before Aizawa's cold gaze came back to Mineta and his tone went from cool to frigid frozen lake as he continued "You had given it your all during the tests, so I was going to let you stay, but then you had to show why you applied for this course. I will not enable such behavior. You are out of this Hero Course Mineta Minoru, and if I have my way, out of this school as well."
Aizawa started walking, dragging a gibbering Mineta behind him after he hit the ground. As he walked away, he called over his shoulder "Syllabuses are in your desks back in the homeroom. Look them over tonight, we'll be diving right into things tomorrow."
We all watched Aizawa leave, silent for a long few moments. Then I snapped my fingers and said "Damn it, I was going to give him a shovel talk after we were dismissed for the day. Now I can't use the material I had thought up, and it was some good stuff as well."
Izumi let out a nervous chuckle and Yagi laughed as well before he walked over and clapped a hand on my shoulder as he said "Just as well Bakugo, the school looks unfavorably on students who threaten others."
"I really thought he was bluffing." Yaoyorozu said quietly, though we all heard her still. She was trembling, and even though she had placed first, there was a look of fear in her eyes.
Yagi put a fist to his mouth and gave a sheepish cough as he said "I'm afraid not, he's expelled over a hundred and fifty students during his tenure as a teacher in this school."
"THAT MANY?!" The majority of the class shouted, several of them looking horrified. (Iida's glasses had somehow gained a crack in them to further emphasize his horror.)
"The man hates seeing the names of past students in the obituaries. In his mind, better miserable with their dreams crushed than KIA." I stated solemnly. That brought the mood even further down as the students paused to think about how it must feel to learn that students who you taught were now dead.
Yagi gave them thirty seconds then gave me a pointed look. Nodding, I popped a minor explosion in my left hand to gain everyone's attention and Yagi said "Alright lads and lasses, enough with the downer mood, I suggest everyone go get changed back to your school uniforms, grab your syllabus and then head home, as Aizawa stated we'll be going full throttle starting tomorrow."
'Lads and lasses?' I mouthed to myself in amusement even as I began walking back to the main building. Today had certainly been interesting, and it wasn't even lunch time yet.
END
Omake: The Material
As we all began making our way back to class, I stuck to the back of the group. Mineta was going even slower than his shorter legs would normally explain, the 'poor' boy exhausted from the relief that he wasn't kicked out of the Hero Course. As the others began entering the main campus building though, I spun around and picked him up, continuing my spin to pin him up against the wall at my head height.
"Hey, what's the big idea?!" Mineta asked with wide eyes.
My own eyes narrowed as I leaned in and said "Listen Mineta Minoru and listen well. If you continue your lecherous actions in regards to me and the other girls of this school, I shall take certain actions."
Mineta gave a nervous gulp and began rapidly sweating as he asked "What actions?"
Seeming to change the topic, I put a hand to my ear and asked "You hear that?"
Now confused, Mineta asked "Hear what?"
"That's the sound of everyone who will prevent me from putting you in traction for the rest of your miserable little life."
Thanks to anime physics, Mineta literally turned white as a sheet as he whimpered out "But there's no one else out here!"
I gave Mineta a dark grin and said "Exactly. So be a good boy and behave or you'll be eating out of a straw for the foreseeable future." With my promise given, I dropped Mineta to the ground and entered the campus building. Hopefully Mineta got the message and shaped up. But if not, well, there was an e tool shovel that I had bought specifically to make my point when I gave a shovel talk to a bully at Aldera who was harassing Izumi, I'd just bring it to school again.
Omake End
AN: So i realized partway through writing this that I gave the same chapter name to my Different Assignment story. Kind of funny even if it is a minor whoops on my part. :) Also, standard reminder to vote on poll for what I work on next.
*Canon Izuku got 705.3 on the ball throw when he did 100% in his pointer finger. But that was a literal finger's worth of throwing motion added to his normal unpowered throw of the rest of his body. Given Izumi has 15% of One For All spread evenly throughout her entire body as she threw, I figured she could metaphorically get 'more bang for her buck', hence the greater distance.
