Walking into the cafeteria I picked up a tray adding sandwiches, fruit, and juice, the day was half gone, and I was successfully keeping myself out of trouble.
"Ali with an I. How are you doing?" I turned to see my brother talking to miss 'I-think-I'm-better-than-you' "Good" pushing past them to pay with a huff I could hear Ali asking what my problem was, rolling my eyes I walked outside.
"Kat!" I looked around to see the Cobra Kai gang and some girls sitting around a table, they were the ones with Ali at the beach "Come sit with us" The blonde girl chirped as I glanced around to see everyone looking at me "Yep, Okay" I muttered to myself walking over to the table.
This was obviously the 'popular' table, every school had one and judging by the incredulous looks of my peers I had just been invited to sit at it.
"Hey" I greeted putting down my tray into the empty space next to Johnny "You look great Kat" I smiled in return before popping a grape in my mouth "This is Barbara and Susan," Tommy said with his arm around Barbara, the blonde.
"How's the hand killer?" the boys laughed as I picked up my hand to show them my bandaged hand "Ow looks like it hurts," Barbara said with a frown on her face, she had obviously never hit anyone in her life.
"Nah I'm used to it" Flexing my finger I scowled as the joints popped painfully "What do you mean?" Johnny asked looking at me confused "I used to practice boxing in Newark" Dutch laughed loudly and leaned forward "I knew it! That punch was just too perfect."
I laughed along with them as we talked about my boxing when Daniel and Ali walked out of the cafeteria joking with each other "Ali!" Susan shouted waving over the blonde, but Ali shook her head choosing to sit with Daniel instead "Urgh I can't believe her."
"So did you get in a lot of trouble?" Bobby questioned pointing to my hand when I looked at him confused "Oh yeah big time Daniel played the victim card plus he's the golden child" I told them rolling my eyes used to play second fiddle.
"But don't worry Karma's a bitch, but then so am I," I sang knowing I'd get my revenge on Daniel somehow, I wouldn't be a good little sister if I didn't find every opportunity to irritate my twin.
Johnny stood picking up his pie with a grin on his face "Karma huh?" I looked at him confused as he walked away "what is he doing?" I asked out loud as the others shrugged watching him too.
My eyes widen in shock when Johnny quickly placed the pie on Daniel's seat just as Daniel was about to sit down; he hadn't noticed Johnny creeping up behind him and sat down still smiling at Ali.
I laughed at the look on Daniel's face when he realized something was wrong standing up instantly he turned to see the squashed blueberry pie on his chair.
The whole cafeteria erupted into a roar of laughter "Eww gross" A girl said passing him Daniel's face turned bright red in embarrassment, as he scooped the mess from the back of his trousers.
"That was great" I heard Johnny say in between laughs as Daniel glared at him, his white pants now had a huge blue stain on them, and Ali didn't look too happy either "You jerk" she screamed at him and glaring over to our table as we roared hysterically.
Daniel picked up the remnants of the pie held it in his hands looking at Johnny angrily "Don't even think about it worm" Johnny told him seriously before having the glob of blueberries thrown and him and wiped in his shirt.
Chaos soon erupted as Johnny dived at Daniel and all the Cobra Kai's jumped in to back him up as other students tried to break up the two blueberry covered boys.
Suddenly Coach Carlson walked out of the cafeteria and saw the fight "Break it up you two" he said pushing between the boys, blowing on his whistle trying to restore the peace.
Shifting to Daniel, he growled looking fierce "This is the second time I've caught you attacking someone" he caught my eye when I waved my hand "Actually it's three" Daniel scowled over at me as I waggled my fingers mockingly.
"Now you go to the principal's office," He said pointing to Daniel and then turned to Johnny "And Lawrence you go clean yourself up" Johnny and Daniel stood glaring at each other, "I said now!" Coach shouted just as the bell rang causing all the students to run in all directions.
"Haven't you got somewhere to be Larusso?" Coach called to me when Daniel walked away swearing "That was amazing" I told Johnny patting him on the arm with a giggle "Truly a masterpiece."
Johnny just grinned at me as I walked away still laughing, I've never had someone on my team against Daniel before, and it felt awesome, shaking my head with a smile I made my way to class.
The bell shrilled out as everyone cheered, putting my books in my bag I started walking to the school bus, no doubt I would be getting into trouble somehow for what Daniel did.
The Cobra Kai's sitting on their bike's talking hearing my name I hid behind a wall "I don't know what it is man she's getting to me" Johnny said with a faint laugh.
Dutch made a fake girl 'oooh' sound before pushing Johnny's arm " You like her dude" I smiled they were all more like brothers than friends "Just don't screw it up" Bobby told Johnny who just nodded in return.
Moving away from the walk I tried sneaking towards the bus when I heard a whistle "Hey Kat!" I spun around to see Johnny waving me over to them "What's up" I questioned when the guys who were all smirking at each other.
"You know what I gotta go," Bobby announced bumping fists with Johnny "See you at practice" suddenly all the other guys 'had' to go too, leaving Johnny and me alone, together.
"Wanna ride home?" The blond offered motioning to the bike "Sure" I answered glancing up to see Ali getting into her dad's Rolls-Royce then it hit me how different we all really were.
I bet Johnny lives in a mansion or something and I live in a dingy apartment where the pool water is green, and the handyman is kinda weird "You know what I think I'm gonna take the bus" I faltered before marching off towards the yellow school bus.
"Hey wait!" I heard footsteps behind me before his hand grabbed my arm "What's wrong?" Johnny urged as I sighed and turned to see his confused face "Nothing its just...nothing."
Johnny rubbed his hand up and down my arm comfortingly "what are you so afraid of?" my head shot up as I glared at his perfect smirking face he knew he was goading me.
"I'm not afraid of anything" my chin jutting out in defiance, my weakness is my pride, and it often got me into messes I couldn't get out of, it made me wonder if this was going to be one of those messes "So let's go," he commanded smoothly gesturing to his bike.
"Hey, girly are you getting on or not?" I stared up to the overweight sweating bus driver through the open door of the bus "No, she's with me" Johnny informed him pulling me towards his new Honda "Get on" he told me sitting on his bike.
I stood staring at the bike unsure as he looked back at me amused "What you afraid?" he taunted smirking knowing he had me, somehow in the space of a day and a half Johnny knew how to push my buttons.
Frowning I took his hand and climbed on the back pulling the straps on my backpack tighter "You might wanna hold on" he called to me before speeding off.
Throwing my arms around his waist, I glared at the back of his head "you did that on purpose" I scolded playfully when I heard him laughing, Showing him the way to go my heart started to beat faster as we got closer to the apartment complex.
"Here" I pointed as he pulled up in front of the complex using Johnny's shoulder I jumped off the bike as he eyed my living arrangements "This is where you live?" I looked behind me in disdain hating my life and everything in it.
"Probably until I'm 18" I smiled awkwardly remembering Ali's expensive car and knew Johnny had chosen her for a reason, why would he go from the Hills to New Jersey.
"It's definitely not the hills but…" Johnny looked at me shocked as I trailed off not knowing how to finish that sentence; there was nothing I could give him that the Hills couldn't.
Suddenly Daniel rode up on his push bike and stopped staring at Johnny and me in surprise "Kat! Can I talk to you" My brother called as I gave my a grin "No" Johnny snickered in front of me as Daniel growled "Katherine!".
I smiled at Johnny as I walked over to Daniel "What!" I hissed at him when he pulled me away from where Johnny could hear us "What the hell! Now he knows where I live" My brother reprimanded me.
Glaring at Daniel annoyed I huffed "Not everything is about you!" My twin pointed to his face which was still littered with bruises "I'm the one who got his ass kicked by your new boyfriend!".
I frowned at Daniel and got closer to him "And whose fault is that?" he looked shocked at me "You're the one who got himself involved in somebody else's business" I scolded as he had the decency to look accepting.
"This place sucks man" He muttered as I laughed softly "Yeah it does" we both looked at each other shocked that we finally agreed on something for the first time in years.
"You're still a loser," I told him trying to get away from this sudden bonding session "Yeah, and you're a bitch" we stared at each other for a second before walking away awkwardly "Good talk."
"Sorry about that he's an idiot" Johnny laughed, even his laugh is perfect damn it "well you better go" he nodded starting his bike "by the way the Hills means nothing to me not anymore," he said putting on his helmet and speeding away leaving me blushing and my mouth open in shock.
