Katsuki had a bad feeling.
Izu had to take care of some stuff at school, and said he didn't have to stay behind. So, he left.
But now his stomach was tied in knots and it was pissing him off because he knew something had to be wrong but didn't know what.
His best friend was probably fine.
They sparred almost every day, and both of their reflexes were honed, Quirks or without.
Yeah.
Izuku would be fine.
Shoichi was not fine.
Their teacher pulled him aside to have a conference after school, and asked him gently if he really wanted to apply to UA with his situation.
He knew his file still said Quirkless, but that was because they both kept forgetting to go fix it!
Shoichi told his teacher as much, who groaned and said if it hadn't come in by now, it never would. He promptly slammed his fist against the table, heard something crack, and restored it in front of his teacher.
"Is that proof enough? It's for healing."
He got to go home soon after that.
Unfortunately the roads were a bit more crowded than he'd like, and to avoid sounding like the scariest Cloud, he went for the quietest street to calm his anxiety.
The one that also seemed the sketchiest, which did not help his anxiety.
Despite all that, which would've been tolerable on a good day, the not so fine part was the suffocation via the worst jello he's ever had in either life.
Jokes help him cope.
Not really, he almost died and it was very difficult to comprehend considering he couldn't breathe.
He counted the seconds, wondering if he would be saved before the oxygen was fully cut off from his brain, a measly 5 minutes capable of sealing his fate.
Thankfully, he only got to 130 seconds, and it was almost a miracle he hadn't passed out yet.
"I AM HERE!"
Ah, Shoichi thought airily, that's Kacchan's favorite Hero.
Speeding up the blood flow and oxygen to his brain, he managed to avoid passing out to make sure he could get a lovely present for his best friend.
After coughing for a moment, he bowed low. "Thank you for saving me, All Might."
"It is simply my duty as a Hero! I am glad to see you are alright, you did well to hold him off my boy!"
Shoichi smiled, while having to hold an arm over his eyes. Too bright…!
"My best friend is your biggest fan, would you sign an autograph for a Bakugo Katsuki?" He handed the Hero a notebook opened to an unused page, seeing his nod.
"Of course!"
Kacchan would be thrilled!
(Later, when he handed him the autograph, he was incredibly jealous, demanding a fight and an explanation for why it happened at all. His anger on Shoichi's behalf was endearing, but if either of them had to go through an experience like that, he wanted the same outcome.
Shoichi already lived a life, Katsuki was barely in high school. He did grin when he saw his friend quietly asking Masaru if they had any extra picture frames though.)
