"Hazamada?" I asked.
"Yea." Jotaro opens the door. "Do not open the door for anyone other than me. It could be Hazamada's stand." He says as he rushes out and slams the door behind him.
30 minutes pass and my pompadour friend began to get restless. Josuke paced back and forth through the living room with his arms crossed. "Jokuse, you're going to leave a hole in the floor." I joke. "Sit down and relax."
He then walked to the window and peeked through the blinds."I'm just worried, that's all."
"Well," I stood up, went to Josuke, grabbed his hand, pulled him to the couch and pushed him onto it."Rest! There's nothing we can do except wait for Jotaro to come back." I grabbed the tv remote and turned it on.
Okuyasu was inhaling a cup of instant ramen on the couch I prepared for him. It was already getting late and the three of us were tired from today's events.
The doorbell rung. "Coming!" I yelled. I rushed to the door and peeked through the hole on the door. Jotaro was standing outside, with his arms crossed,
"It's Jotaro, Josuke" I said, alerting him. I slowly opened the door. "Welcome back Jotaro! Did you-"
Suddenly, Jotaro grabbed my wrist. A smirk spread onto his face as his hand shrunk and his jacket sleeve turned into a red Budou-go High School uniform, just like mine. His blue eyes turned amber and his short hat turned into long, burgundy hair. The transformation of Jotaro to me took seconds.
This wasn't Jotaro. This was the work of Hazamada's stand.
Before I could say anything, the decoy closed its mouth and handed me a knife. I was not in control of my actions. My hand immediately moved towards my neck, putting the front of the blade against my throat. Yuki came behind the decoy smiling and walked into my house. The decoy slowly walked into the living room along with myself where Josuke and Okuyasu were.
Once their eyes locked on me, their expression went from shocked, to raged. Josuke stood up.
"Kuro! What-"
"Move and I'll slit her throat." Yuki interrupted Josuke. I could feel the knife drawing blood from my skin. I tried my best to move but my attempts were fruitless. "And the moment I see either of your stands appear, her blood will coat the floor!" I could see Josuke's nails going into the skin of his palms, making a fist. He bit his bottom lip in frustration. Okuyasu was in the same boat. "Here's the deal: Okuyasu comes with me. The girl doesn't die."
"Maybe I should go," Okuyasu offers.
Josuke looks at him in disgust. "You idiot! She'll kill you if you go with her! She tried to kill you last time!"
"But Kuro,"
"I don't have all day, boys." Yuki teased.
Josuke grit his teeth even harder and pointed his index finger at Yuki. "Listen to me. If you kill Kuro, the second she falls to the floor, I'll kill you! Your death will come so fast you won't even have time to see what hit you."
"Josuke," Okuyasu spoke.
Yuki's eyes widened in fear. Josuke's expression; I've never seen him this mad in my life. "My stand Crazy Diamond can move so fast, it can punch a hole through your chest faster than you can see it or feel it. When I'm done with you, no one will be able to who's body that is."
Yuki placed her left hand on her hip and scratched her blond hair with her right hand, as if she was considering her options. She then shrugged her shoulders. "Ok. I've considered my options." She then walked up to Josuke, stood on her heels, pulled his shirt down towards her and planted her lips right onto his.
Something felt…wrong. My eyes stared at my best friend kissing another girl. I feel my body burn up and my chest tighten.
Why do I feel this way?
What's wrong with me?
I've seen couples kiss in public and on TV hundreds of times, but this was different.
It's as if Yuki already stabbed me in the throat.
But she didn't.
Instead, she's kissing Josuke Higashikata.
"Josuke!" Okuyasu and I yelled out.
A puff of blue smoke surrounded the living room. Hazamada's doll that once held me hostage turned back into a wooden marionette. My muscles were free from her control. But this was much worse. As the smoke cleared, Yuki stood over Josuke with Crazy Diamond hovering above her.
Josuke threw a weak punch, only his wrist to be caught by Crazy Diamond's hand.
"Your threats are meaningless now," Yuki said. Crazy Diamond then grabbed both of Josuke's legs. Then…
Snap!
A blood curdling scream came from Josuke's mouth. His face scrunched up as Crazy Diamond let go of both of his now broken legs.
"How dare you!" Okuyasu yelled, the hand hovering above him as he dashed towards Yuki.
"Thanks for coming towards me," Yuki smirked. "It makes everything so much easier." Crazy Diamond drew its fist back, ready to punch Okuyasu.
"Okuyasu don't!" Josuke warned.
"Iron Maiden!"
Before Yuki was able to strike, I wrapped a shield around tried to punch through the shield multiple times, but it didn't budge.
The blonde girl turned to me and scoffed. "You dumb bitch. All I need to do is kill you to get rid of that bubble.
Before I had a chance to move, multiple punches landed on my chest and head, knocking me into the bookcase.
I heard Josuke and Okuyasu call for me, but it sounded like I was underwater.
"Get up." Yuki ordered, Crazy Diamond towering over her.
She then used Crazy Diamond to grab my shirt to pull me up. Another round of fists pummeled me, causing me to cough up blood. My vision blurred as I saw two Yukis in front of me.
"You know, if you remove the shield around Okuyasu, maybe you would have a chance against me." She smirked.
She's right.
If I just release Okuyasu from Iron Maiden's shield, everything would work out.
"Thank you for not letting me drown back at the park." She smiled smugly. As she drew Crazy Diamonds fist back once more.
I released the shield that surrounded Okuyasu. Iron Maiden's shield then wrapped around her, trapping her in an airtight bubble. She tried punching the shield but failed to break it.
I struggled to stand up. "There. Now you can't hurt my friends, or me. You'll be stuck like that until I release you." I stumbled my way to Josuke why was still laying on the ground. Okuyasu helped him up into a sitting position. " Are you ok?"
"Forget about me!" Josuke yelled. He wrapped his hands around my face. His palm felt the back of my head, causing me to flinch in pain. "Sorry!"
I felt the back of my head with my hand which is now covered in blood. "I-" I collapsed into his arms. His arms wrapped around my back, catching me before I hit the floor. "I'm just tired."
"It's OK. Just rest." Josuke said as he rubbed my back
Yuki had Crazy repeatedly punched the shield with zero results. Tears fell down her face as she fell to her knees. "IT'S NOT FAIR!" She whaled.
"Oh shut up!" Okuyasu kicked the outside of the shield making her flinch. "You broke Josuke's legs, beat Kuro up to a pulp and now you're crying just because you didn't get to kill me?! WHAT THE HELL'S WRONG WITH YOU?!"
"I," Yuki mumbled, her makeup ran down her face. "I just needed…the money."
"The money?" Josuke asked.
"You mean, you were bribed?" Okuyasu added.
"My dad. A bunch of loan sharks are after him right now. They offered me…¥90,000 yen."
"¥90,000 yen?!" Okuyasu repeated in shock. "All that money, just to kill me?"
"So you were bribed." Josuke said.
"Yea. My dad…We're in debt. A lot of debt. My dad, he's a really bad gambling problem. I begged the loan sharks to drop the debt. They said that my only options were to give them the money or to use my body!"
Her whales filled the room, making my already pounding headache worse. I cupped my ears with my hands.
This girl…is she really that bad of a person as she puts on? She tried to kill us multiple times, but she seemed more troubled than anything.
"Josuke. I think she's telling the truth."
Josuke turned to me angrily. "And you believe her?"
"Well she seemed like she's broken down that fake facade of hers. Maybe we can help her."
"But-"
"Josuke," Okuyasu interrupted. "Remember how we first met, I tried to kill you? But now we're friends. Maybe we should give her a chance."
Josuke looked at the two of us and let out a sigh of defeat. I walked up to Yuki, who was still in the bubble. "I'll let you out on a few conditions. First, you need to fix everyone and everything in this room."
"Fix?" Yuki questioned.
"Crazy Diamonds ability allows you to fix anything that has been broken. This can be anything like broken furniture to the wounds you gave us."
Yuki sniffled and wiped her tears on her sleeve. "I-I can't."
"What!" Okuyasu yelled as he started to kick the bubble again. "DO YOU WANT KURO TO HELP YOU OR NOT?!"
"It's not that I don't want the help! It's just that," she pointed her index finger at Josuke. "He said that he'll kill me."
I glanced at Josuke. His turquoise eyes are still filled with rage.
I kneeled down towards him. "Josuke,"
He turned his head.
"Josuke, look at me."
No response.
I cupped his cheeks with my bloody hands, forcing him to look at me. "After Yuki fixes us, can you promise me that you won't hurt her?"
Still no response.
Sometimes I forget how stubborn my best friend can be, but his stubbornness is what keeps….
"Josuke, I know you're worried about me. But I'm fine, really." I grabbed his hand and placed his fingertips a couple of centimeters below my collar bone. "Remember what I said to you earlier?"
He sighed. "Fine. I won't hurt her." His cheeks started to turn pink "But only because you told me not to."
I released Iron Maiden. The shield retracted back behind me, letting Yuki go. She stumbled towards Josuke and I and used Crazy Diamond to heal our wounds. Yuki awkwardly scratched her head. "Well, what now?"
Out of nowhere, Star Platinum spawned behind Yuki along with Jotaro and grabbed both of her wrists and put them behind her head. "I'm taking you to the police station. I have some questions for you."
"Jotaro, what happened?" Okuyasu asked.
"She tricked Hazamada and used his stand to call us. When I went over his house the doll touched me and got away. I'm glad to see that you guys were able to get things under control.
"Yea. Just barely." I said.
I told Jotaro everything that happened, from how she stole Josuke's stand to her trouble with loan sharks. Jotaro said he was going to take her to the police station. There, they could help her with her problems and Jotaro could get some information about how she knew about all the stand users in Morioh.
Jotaro called a taxi for Okuyasu and Josuke to take them home. I decided to go outside to say goodbye to the three of them.
"Are you sure you'll be safe for tonight?" Josuke asked as he got into the car. "What if another stand user comes by?"
I rolled my eyes. "Josuke I'm fine. Go home and get some rest. It's been a long day for all of us."
He nodded as he sat down on one of the leather seats. "I guess I'll see you at school tomorrow, Kuro."
The taxi pulled out of the driveway and made its way towards Josuke's house.
Once I got back inside, I went into my bedroom, flopped onto the bed and let out a massive sigh. Today has been a chaotic day, with Yuki taking up most of our time.
Yuki…
She kissed Josuke.
On the lips.
I grabbed my pillow and hugged it tightly towards my chest.
I lightly brushed my fingers against my lips.
I wonder…I wonder if that was Josuke's first kiss.
I could feel my heart beat out of my chest as my cheeks warmed up.
What is this feeling?
Is this…jealously?
