I squealed from my position over Dutch's shoulder as he carried me towards Golf' n' stuff, we had already eaten at a diner downtown where I had been thoroughly spoilt with food and gifts by both the girls and guys.
I was wearing the necklace Johnny bought me, the other Cobra's had put their money together to get me a white gold Princess crown ring with sapphire stones, and the girls gifted me some beautiful hooped earrings.
I may have forced myself not to cry and accept the gifts.
That's why I was currently being caveman carried towards the amusement center by the 'coldest' member of the Cobra Kai, I had complained about receiving too much from them and was promptly grabbed out of Johnny's car by the bleach blond.
I gave the others a glare as they laughed at my current predicament "It's my birthday" I whined trying to keep myself steady while not getting my ribs rushed "You're supposed to help me not let this caveman manhandle me" I let out another squeal when Dutch's hand smacked the back of my thigh.
Wriggling dramatically, I cheered as I was lowered back to the ground, "Success!" I exclaimed as the others continued to laugh. "You may be Cobra Kai, but I can still beat you," I joked, pulling a face at Dutch as he pushed me playfully.
"So, what are we doing first?" Bobby asked out as we each called out something we wanted to do in the arcade, no water slides this time, though.
I couldn't help but notice Ali was a bit out of it and thought maybe it was because of everything that happened at the country club.
After a few games together, everyone seemed to split off to play things they wanted to play, and I just bounced between my friends, all who appeared to be having a good time.
I bit my lip, realizing this was the first birthday I had spent smiling and happy.
Seeing Ali wander past me, I followed her before uncharacteristically curling my arm into hers as she gazed at me in shock, "What's up?" I questioned as her face remains in her sad expression before she gave me a small smile.
"I'm fine" was all she said, but I knew a lie when I heard it.
Leaning against one of the gaming machines, I crossed my arms, "Is this about Tommy?" I asked as her eyes shifted over to him as he laughed at whatever Jimmy was saying, "Or is this about my brother?" her eyes flickered back towards mine.
"I tried talking to him, but he blew me off" She sighed, and I knew she was talking about Daniel, there was no way Tommy would ignore her with the huge crush he currently had for her.
"Yeah, we get our stubbornness from a long linage of Italian women," I say with a laugh knowing it was our stubbornness that caused not only Daniel and me to fight but our Ma as well, "but unfortunately, Daniel got his bullheadedness from our Dad."
Ali glanced at me through her eyelashes, "What do I do?".
I breathed in softly wondering how I got myself in the position of offering my brother's girlfriend advice on how to remedy their relationship, a few months ago I would have relished in the fact of my brother suffering and doing anything I could to make it worse but now...
"Make him work for it," her eyes widened at my words. "I'm not saying don't forgive him, but he needs to realize that he was wrong for the way he treated you" she nodded slowly at my words.
"If I caught Johnny kissing you that night, I would have stuck around and raised hell not act the way my idiot twin is." I tell her honestly with a shrug.
A smile grew on her face as she let out a giggle just as said blond shouted out to us, "Hey babe, we're going on the go-carts. You coming?" I shook my head at Johnny and motioned to him that I was staying with the girls as Ali watched us.
"I thought it would be weird, but it's not" I frowned at her words as she coyly smiled "You being with Johnny and not only that but also being Daniel's sister" I chuckled at her words knowing my brother had felt the same way she had.
"You're just saying that because you hated me when we met," I scoffed as her face turned a little pink from my words.
"I didn't hate you, I-i just-" laughing softly at her stutter, I didn't feel angry knowing I was probably right "you were a very scary angry person," Ali admitted as she put her hands on her face looking embarrassed.
"Were?!" I said in mock exasperation, "I'm still a 'very scary' angry person" we both laughed as I playfully nudged her with my hip knowing that my lessons with Mr. Miyagi were paying off in terms of helping my anger.
"No seriously you're so different than before" she looked back over to where the guys had been before turning to me "He is too, I never thought I'd see the day where Johnny Lawrence cared for someone other than his friends" I frowned at her wishing tone "You're good for each other".
" Thanks," I whispered coyly as I started to feel embarrassed at her praising words.
Grabbing her hand, I tugged her over to where Barb and Susan were playing on a shooting game. "Come on, let's show these two how it's done" all three of them grinned at me as Ali picked up one of the rifles, and I took the other.
The four of us laughed together as we tried to shoot the target, but I was still as bad at this game as I was back when Johnny tried to teach me how to aim, although I was more focused on him than I was on the targets.
"I give up. Don't shoot!" My eyes widened when I saw my brother jumping in front of our guns with a fake pleading look on his face "No," he groaned when Ali 'shot' him, and he slumped over the machine.
I felt Susan tug on my arm as we move away from the game, "Don't leave me. I'm wounded," my twin begged, but Ali didn't answer him as she stepped onto the next machine.
"Good, maybe you'll die" Susan sassed as I shook my head at my brother, he was going about this the wrong way. Pretending like he didn't upset Ali or that any of it ever happened wasn't going to fix this mess.
Placing my hand on my brother's chest, I stopped him from following them as he looked at me confused "breathe" I said as he just eyed me "this isn't the way to get her back" I explained to him as if talking to a child "think about the way you speak before you talk to her."
Daniel just scoffed and pushed he way past me, letting out a sigh I decided to leave the two of them to their spat as I played on one of the machines but still keeping a close eye on them.
He'd soon learn the hard way, he was either going to lose the girl he wants, or he'd see the error he was making. Either way, I was here for it, and from the looks of it, my brother wasn't winning this battle.
Ali was keeping herself strong against him no matter how much she looked like she wanted to cry, I guess our little talk before was proving useful. Seeing her walk away upset, I made my way over to Daniel, still not 100% sure if it was to gloat or to help.
"What makes you so sensitive?" Susan argued as she moved in front of my twin, who only had eyes out for Ali. "She's never been anything but nice to you," my small dark-haired friend spat angrily.
Daniel glanced down at her with a frown. "She used me to make him jealous," he quickly eyed me as I stood beside the two of them silently shaking my head, finally realizing what my brother thought had happened.
"She doesn't even like him," I told my older brother knowing full well that Ali saw nothing in Tommy, she didn't even really like him all that much. She tolerated most of the Cobra Kai's before because she was with Johnny.
"Who could tell, the way their faces were stuck together at the country club?" Daniel hissed at me as if I was lying to him, I hadn't seen him much after the incident, so there was no way I knew he thought Ali did that to him.
"Right, you didn't stick around for the exciting conclusion," Susan laughed, but it was empty of amusement as she circled around him to the other side of the machine we were stood in front of.
"What, his hand on her ass?" My twin scoffed with his face scrunched up as his jealously shone through.
"Her right hook," Susan shot at him as my brother went silent, "You think she sprained her wrist doing her nails?" Daniel's face dropped in shock, and he was obviously dumbfounded.
"She hit him?"
Susan rolled her eyes as she nodded "That's an understatement" Tommy had a red mark on his face for days after being hit by Ali, and she wore a bandage around her wrist for a week.
"Why didn't she say something?" My brother asked me before turning his gaze back to Susan, who just looked back at him in disgust.
"She shouldn't have to, should she?" She gently brushed past me as she walked away, muttering to herself about my brother being an asshole.
I stood with Daniel for a moment before he looked at me. "Why didn't you tell me?" he questioned, making me sigh at his ability to shift the blame onto other people so quickly.
"Would you have believed me?" I asked, crossing my arms as we slowly walked to the door, "or were you too busy avoiding everyone to let us explain?" my brother's gaze dropped to the ground at my scolding.
"Look, Daniel, I'm used to your idiotic bullheadedness. I spent years of your shitty attitude towards me and guess what I was stupid enough to put up with it until now," I hissed tired of babying him.
"But she won't. You can't treat Ali like she's the problem because guess what snowflake, she will find someone better. She won't stick around to be your doormat" Daniel opened his mouth, but I put my hand up, "just grow up and fix it."
I started walking away when I heard my brother calling my name, "What?" I huffed watching as he tapped the toe of his shoe against the ground like a scolded child, which I guess he kind of was.
"Thank you," He said before looking up at me, "and I'm sorry, for everything" for a moment I felt lost not knowing what to say hearing the words I had been waiting for all my life so I just did the only thing I could think of, I scrunched up my face disgusted.
"Eww, feelings."
