Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here Midoriya continue to sneak his way around in order to fulfill the first of several objectives given to him…
Well then, read on and enjoy!
Ch. 3: Dai ichi sesshoku
Midoriya sighed as he wondered if he did the right thing in accepting as he felt that he is being pressured into accepting this mission yet he is compelled to do it, as he is promised that he would be compensated and that Nezu promised that he would receive a hero license should he stop the terrorist group from launching the warheads.
He is also worried about the fact that his mom might go hysterical if she finds out what the Japanese military did to him and might cause unprecedented problems, as well as how would Nezu cover for him should UA notice his absence.
"Really…why did I agree to this…"
He survey the area he is in again and saw a pair of guards doing their rounds, and he could hear them whispering about the LEADERS running the group, and expressed skepticism about one of them being a GREENHORN.
"Easy…HE might hear you…"
"So?"
"Jeez…"
"I can't tell if the other bosses are serious…"
"Looks to me that they are…"
"They're adults…yet they…"
"That's their decision…"
"But the latest one…can he pull it off…?"
Midoriya mentally sighed as he got the gist of what the soldiers are talking about, and he patiently waited until they left, which prompted him to sneak around until finding another spot to hide, and once he hid himself he looked around and see if he could sneak around further.
Deciding to go ahead, Midoriya took a peek and saw several guards making their rounds, and knew that a head-on confrontation is not advisable so he made an impromptu tactic as he took out an insulated canister and opened it and threw the contents towards one of the approaching guards.
The contents turn out to be a viper, and it went towards the guard, which spooked him and opened fire, prompting the other guards to head towards the source of the gunfire, and they were surprised to see this as they did not expect to see a viper here and decided to get rid of it to prevent any problems as getting bitten is the last thing they want.
"A viper!"
"What?"
"Shoot it!"
"How did it get here?"
"Don't ask me!"
"Shoot it down! We don't have an anti-venom serum here!"
"Damn it! Shoot it down before it bites us!"
"Be careful! Don't shoot down the tanks!"
With the guards distracted Midoriya sneaked past them and went around until he saw a ventilation shaft, which he went there and got in, and began to navigate his way around, whilst he can hear the sounds of gunfire and the guards shouting to get rid of the viper at all costs.
"Shoot it down!"
"I am!"
"If the boss finds out, we'll be toasted!"
"He's right! He's a real HOTHEAD!"
"Quick! Corner it!"
"Got him!"
"You idiot! You missed!"
"Shut up and shoot it down!"
Midoriya waited as he could hear the soldiers shooting at the viper, and soon more soldiers came and saw what caused the commotion, and he could hear the eight soldiers combining their efforts to shoot down the snake while chastising their fellow soldiers for being TOO SLOW in containing a mere snake, though the others said that the snake appeared out of nowhere.
"You idiots!"
"Causing a ruckus over a snake?"
"It's a poisonous one!"
"Whatever!"
"Shoot it down!"
"The bosses will grill us if they get disturbed!"
"Hurry!"
"Waste that reptile!"
Hoping to capitalize on the distraction, Midoriya brought out another canister and opened it, where another viper came slithering out and went to the direction where the soldiers are standing, and one of them saw the approaching snake and panicked, opening fire which also distracted the others, and now the guards are bewildered at seeing another viper coming out so suddenly.
"Shoot it down!"
"I am!"
"If the boss finds out, we'll be toasted!"
"He's right! He's a real HOTHEAD!"
"Quick! Corner it!"
"Got him!"
"You idiot! You missed!"
"Shut up and shoot it down!"
As the guards opened fire, Midoriya sneaked his way around and looked for a way to bypass the guards without giving himself away, and along the way he saw an air vent, which he stealthily opened it and went inside, crawling forward while being careful in not making any sound.
Soon he is inside the base, and looking at the shaft below where other soldiers are roused by the sounds of gunfire, which they initially assume it was an intruder until one of the responding guards came and explained the cause of the disturbance.
"What?"
"Vipers?"
"Inside the base?"
"Seriously?"
"For real?"
"Yes! And there's two of them!"
"Help us shoot it down!"
"Damn it!"
As the soldiers are dismayed that their fellow guards are causing a ruckus over a pair of vipers, they resume doing their rounds, and Midoriya slowly crawled inside the air vent, and as he is navigating his way around, his codec blared and he answered it, which he is surprised to find out who called him, as he didn't expect that person to contact him out of the blue.
It was Gran Torino.
"Huh? Gran Torino?"
"Been a while, kid."
"Torino-san."
"Looks like you got yourself an undercover mission."
"Well…it's a bit complicated…"
"I understand. I got the gist of it."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Torino told Midoriya that he got the gist of what is happening when he happened to speak privately with Nezu, and then he spoke to one of the army brass to let him in on the secret mission by offering to be Midoriya's GUIDE, with Nezu vouching for him given that Torino is All Might's mentor, while promising not to leak anything out on the media, and Midoriya sighed, though he asked if All Might is aware of this, though Torino seemingly ignored the question and instead told him what he should do in situations like this.
Midoriya nodded after being told and said that he will take the advice at heart.
"So, get my drift?"
"Yes."
"Just remember to give me a call if you need anything."
"Yes."
"Just try not to get careless and bitch things around."
"Yes."
"Okay, will see you later."
"Yes."
After that, Midoriya turned off the codec and is about to proceed when he overheard the soldiers below talking about one of the prisoners being kept at the basement area, and said that they wondered how long will they keep him seeing that he has served his purpose, but the leaders insists on keeping him alive for the time being.
"Really?"
"Looks to me…"
"Seriously…why not ditch him and feed his carcass to the wolves?"
"Beats me. The bosses said that he should still be kept alive."
"Whatever. Where is he again?"
"Basement 2?"
"Yeah."
"…"
Hearing this, Midoriya decided to stall the soldiers below as he stealthily opened a canister he brought and poured the contents on the shaft gate, where a pair of vipers fell to the ground, right behind the soldiers, and upon turning around, the soldiers were taken by surprise upon seeing them, and panicked as they opened fire, fearing for their lives as they are aware that vipers have deadly poisons when biting their prey.
"A viper!"
"What the heck?"
"Shoot it! Before it bites us!"
"How did it get here?"
"Don't ask me!"
"Shoot it down! We don't have any anti-venom serum here!"
"Damn it! Shoot it down before they land their fangs on us!"
"Be careful! Don't shoot down the tanks!"
Midoriya took advantage of the distraction and went ahead, navigating his way around until he came across a shaft gate and looked down below, seeing an elevator near it and he waited a bit as a few soldiers came and went to the source of the gunfire, and they too are taken aback at seeing a pair of vipers slithering around as the two venomous reptiles managed to avoid the hail of gunfire.
"A viper! Two of them!"
"What?"
"Damn it! Quick! Shoot them down!"
"How did it get here?"
"Don't ask me!"
"Shoot it down! We don't have an anti-venom serum here! One bite and we're dead!"
"Damn it! Shoot it down before it bites us!"
"Be careful! Don't shoot down the walls!"
With the soldiers distracted, Midoriya went ahead and got out of the ventilation shaft and saw a monitor device moving about, and there he brought out as device which would cause any monitoring systems with cameras to momentarily freeze, and he activated it and proceed towards the elevator and uses a device that act as a card pass and entered the elevator.
By then the soldiers managed to kill the two vipers, yet they are baffled as to how they got here given the current cold condition outside the base, as vipers couldn't possibly came here on their own as they cannot survive the fierce snowstorm.
"What just happened?"
"Don't know! Those things just showed up!"
"How?"
"Don't ask me!"
"It's freezing outside! How can those snakes get here like that?"
"Figure it out yourself!"
"Easy…"
"…"

After several minutes, the scene shifts at one of the holding cells where a prisoner is sitting on a bed. An African-American, who looked a bit ragged, suggesting that he has been held prisoner for an undetermined number of days.
He appeared to be losing hope as no one has ever attempted to rescue him or pay a ransom. As he wondered what will his fate be, he heard something from the ceiling, where a ceiling gate opened and someone came out.
It was Midoriya, and he stealthily landed on the floor without making a sound. The prisoner was taken aback seeing a teenage boy, who is obviously shorter than him, and there Midoriya spoke to the prisoner, seeing that he appeared to be not well-fed, and given the surrounding condition inside the cell, Midoriya is sure that the hostage-takers have no qualms about keeping their prisoners alive.
"What the…?"
"Calm down, sir."
"A kid…?"
"…"
"Are you Asian…?
"Yes."
"For real?"
"Yes, sir."
The man who is kept prisoner is identified as Donald Anderson, chief of DARPA, and there he was a bit wary as he is unsure if Midoriya is his rescuer or if he is one of the group who kept him here.
