Especially as he is about to get embroiled in another battle after narrowly escaping the guards following the unexpected and unintentional botch in trying to rescue the DARPA chief…and now the stakes are higher and dire than before…

Ch. 7: Mōhitotsu no shōgeki-tekina keiji

Meanwhile, the scene shifts at the private meeting room where Nezu is with a few key military officials, who are having a ZOOM meeting with American military officials, and the latter are not pleased when told that the DARPA chief was dead, and the US officials refused to believe that the DARPA chief's cause of death was an apparent heart attack, as they know that the DARPA chief is a healthy person with no vices whatsoever.

Nezu tried to assure to them that Midoriya is rescuing the second prisoner but the US officials are starting to waiver as they wondered if everything they staked on is worth it or not, yet Nezu managed to allay their fears and urged them to have faith in Midoriya, who undertook huge risks to save the world.

"Believe me…Midoriya is doing his best…so please have faith…panicking would only worsen the matter…"

"…fine…"

After managing to calm the US officials, the zoom meeting ended, and the few military officials asked Nezu if what Midoriya said is true, about the DARPA chief died from what appeared to be a heart attack, which the UA Academy principal said that Midoriya doesn't appeared to be lying and that the younger boy appeared to be equally taken aback by the turn of events.

"I believe in what Midoriya said. If what he said is true…"

"But Anderson is a healthy man…"

"He doesn't smoke…he doesn't drink liquor…"

"So how did Anderson get a heart ailment since his recent medical records showed that he has a clean bill of health…?"

"From what Midoriya said…there maybe something involved…but for now he is on his way to save another prisoner, so let's put our faith in Midoriya..."

"…fine…"

Nezu said that right now Midoriya is in the process of rescuing the second surviving kidnapped victim and the UA Academy principal hoped that things would be positive this time around and that nothing untoward happens, as things would be crucial from hereon, which the military officials said that they are also hoping for the best.

"…fine…"

The scene shifts back to Midoriya, where he and Ocelot are locked in a cat-and-mouse chase as time is slowly ticking away as this was Ocelot's method of breaking Midoriya, as he wanted to make the younger boy suffer in humiliation before taking him down, as this would make the gunman feel good and confident about himself, like a narcissist.

Ocelot kept on firing as Midoriya kept using Full Cowling to avoid the bullets, but then the shooting stopped, and peering, Midoriya saw that Ocelot is reloading his gun, and realized that he now has a chance to strike and went forward, but Ocelot ran away and created some distance as to get enough space to fully load his gun, and tauntingly asked Midoriya why wasn't he SHOOTING, as well as mockingly asked if he is afraid of losing his fingers, reminding him that they now have three minutes left.

"What's the matter, kid?"

"…"

"Getting jitters?"

"…"

"Afraid of losing your hand?"

"…"

"You should have thought about it before having the nerve to sneak your way here!"

"…"

Realizing that time is running out, he tried to get a closer distance and attempted to flick his finger while aiming at Ocelot, but he hesitated as Ocelot moved quite fast and Midoriya realized that if he hits the wrong target he might accidentally set off the C4 explosives and everyone here would be killed, and there Ocelot mocked Midoriya for being a failure as he cannot stop them from their plans and for being unable to save Baker.

"No matter what you do, you can't win!"

"…"

"You're helpless!"

"…"

"You're a failure!"

"…"

"And both you and the old man will die!"

"…"

Feeling agitated, he unintentionally got suckered and uses One For All by flicking his fingers and FIRED an invisible force which somewhat grazed Ocelot's left cheek surprising the man as he did not expect that he would get hit, and this made him cautious, but also interested, as this is the first time he got grazed in a gunfight, and feels that this would be interesting.

"Not bad, kid…"

"…"

"So you do have some BALLS..."

"…"

"And I thought I might get bored…"

"…"

"So keep me entertained…"

"…"

The two continue their gun duel-like battle, where the clock ticks down to 90 seconds, where Ocelot tells Midoriya that it is already over and he would be hailed as a hero-turned-zero, taunting the teen boy for being helpless as the second victim will die a painful death, much to Midoriya's frustration as Ocelot is still ahead of him.

Things appeared dire until a mysterious, metallic figure, all-armored while somewhat vaguely human in appearance, intervene, which brandishes a katana sword and moves like a ninja, where it somehow severs the wires in such a motion that didn't trigger the C4 explosives, and managed to sever the C4 mechanisms that cancelled out the impending explosions, which Midoriya dubbed the new entrant as the Cyborg Ninja.

As Midoriya uses the opportunity to free the prisoner, Ocelot was bewildered and attempted to shoot down the intruder. Though he shot the intruder, Ocelot finds out that the new opponent is all-armored, as the bullets bounced off the intruder's armored body before the Cyborg Ninja made its move, who cut off Ocelot's hand, as well as cutting the remaining wires holding the kidnapped victim, the latter also recognizing the Ninja upon seeing it.

The Ninja then vanished and Ocelot ran off, carrying his severed hand. Midoriya helped the victim, who introduced himself as Kenneth Baker, who mentioned that he has someone he knows who had the PAL override keys.

"There's someone else…?"

"Yeah…"

"A potential ally…?"

"That's right…"

"Wait…could it be that lady who was locked earlier and escaped…?"

"Yeah! She's the one! If you managed to find her…work together with her!"

"…okay…"

"Here…"

Baker then gave Midoriya a hint to where to find her Codec frequency. After he gave Midoriya the weapon launch data, and telling him where to find Dr. Hal Emmerich, also a potential ally, Baker revealed that he had been colluding with the DARPA Chief, Donald Anderson to secretly develop a new Metal Gear on the US government's so-called "black ".

Midoriya was taken aback at hearing this as he couldn't believe what he just heard, and asked Baker if he is serious about what he said, as he felt that this is something he wasn't told about, and Baker glanced at Midoriya, seeing that the younger boy is unaware of what he has gotten himself into, which Baker felt sympathetic towards Midoriya.

"Huh? Are you shocked, kid?"

"Yes…"

"Really…?"

"…"

"I see. So you don't know…"

"Is…there something I should know, Mr. Baker...?"

"Well…"

"…"

Baker decided to fill Midoriya in on something. According to Baker, for several years, regular payments in the tens of thousands of dollars had been made to the corporate account of a dummy company for which Anderson's wife ostensibly acted as a consultant. Midoriya listened intently as he felt that there is more to this than meets the eye.

After that with Baker supplying Midoriya with an optical disc containing all the information on the secret project remaining (as the hard drive was shot up during the revolt), Baker was then questioned about his knowledge on the Cyborg Ninja.

"Oh, that guy…?"

"Yes. He appeared to be…"

"I see…"

"Mr. Baker...?"

"Okay, kid…I'll tell you what I know…"

"…"

"…and that's that…"

"No way…"

Baker then told him what he knows about the Ninja was before imploring Midoriya to stop nuclear launch, as his company would be finished if its development were leaked. Midoriya, surprised at his statement, asked Baker if this secret project used currently-existing technology.

Baker confirmed that the secret project unit itself carried currently existing technology, but was unable to elaborate more, which made Midoriya more baffled and pleaded for more answers, which Baker appeared hesitant to reply, though Midoriya persisted as he tells Baker was is at stake here.

"Please, Mr. Baker...!"

"I…"

"Tell me everything else you know…!"

"But I..."

"The fate of the world is at stake!"

"I'm not sure if…"

"Please…!"

"!"

In a sudden turn of events, Baker began to suffer from a heart attack, eerily similar to the way in which Anderson died. Baker then rambled on about how the Pentagon had double-crossed him, something that baffled Midoriya as Baker slowly dies before the surprised younger boy.

"Mr. Baker!"

"…"

"Mr. Baker!"

"…"

"Mr. Baker!"

"…"

"Mr. Baker!"

"…"

Midoriya stood still, speechless and shocked, and now is starting to waiver as he felt that Nezu knows something Midoriya doesn't.
