Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here Midoriya is set to make another rescue attempt but gets something more than he bargained…
Especially as he is about to get embroiled in another battle after narrowly escaping the battle with Revolver Ocelot and following the unexpected and another unintentional botch in trying to rescue the second prisoner…and now the stakes are higher and dire than before…

Ch. 8: Inuitto to no tairitsu
In a sudden turn of events, Baker began to suffer from a heart attack, eerily similar to the way in which Anderson died. Baker then rambled on about how the Pentagon had double-crossed him, something that baffled Midoriya as Baker slowly dies before the surprised younger boy.
"Mr. Baker!"
"…"
"Mr. Baker!"
"…"
"Mr. Baker!"
"…"
"Mr. Baker!"
"…"
Midoriya stood still, speechless and shocked, and now is starting to waiver as he felt that Nezu knows something Midoriya doesn't. He immediately contacted Nezu via the codec and told him of what happened, as well as what Baker revealed before the seemingly fatal heart attack.
Midoriya visibly told Nezu that he is starting to wonder if this mission is worth risking his life for but Nezu told him to calm down, saying that for now stopping the terrorists is more important, and tells him that once the crisis is averted then the American politicians will sort it out, which Midoriya was slightly swayed.
"Trust me, Midoriya…it'll be okay…"
"…"
"For now focus on the mission…"
"…"
"We must prevent a potential disaster…"
"…fine…"
"Good…."
"…"
Midoriya then told Nezu about the Cyborg Ninja, and asked if that thing is his BACKUP, surprising Nezu as he tells Midoriya that he never heard of that kind of weapon and he is unaware of that kind which he says it was a FORTUNATE COINCIDENCE, as that cyborg ninja chased Ocelot away and helped in saving Baker which allowed Midoriya to get some clues.
"So that Cyborg Ninja is not from yours?"
"No. I did not."
"Then…"
"No, Midoriya. Not even Hatsume would create something like that…"
"Really…?"
"That's the truth…"
"I see…"
"…"
After that, Midoriya told Nezu about this girl that Baker mentioned, and said that this girl could be the one he encountered after Anderson died from the same suspected heart attack, and there Midoriya gave the codec coordinates and asked him to check it out, which Nezu obliges, before signing off.
After that, Midoriya is forced to leave Baker's corpse behind and made his way out and is now back at the hangar, where a few minutes later Nezu contacted Midoriya and told him about the codec coordinates he gave, revealing that the teenage girl that Midoriya encountered earlier is one of Baker and Anderson's contact in making weapon-like inventions.
Nezu revealed the girl's name as Melissa Shield, and said that she is a family friend of All Might, surprising the boy as he has no idea that All Might has a family friend who is from America, and Nezu told Midoriya that he talked to Melissa a while ago, so she now knows about the current situation and there he tells Midoriya that he should establish contact with Melissa so that they can work together in stopping the terrorists from causing a potential worldwide catastrophe.
"Melissa…Shield…so she is All Might's..."
"Yes, Midoriya."
"But…what was she…"
"For now, try contacting her and see if you two could figure out a way to stop the terrorists…"
"Okay…"
"Good. I'm counting on you two."
"Alright."
"Good."
After that, Midoriya stealthily tried to navigate his way around as he is now going to find Hal Emmerich and see if he knows of a way to stop the potential launch of a nuclear weapon, and while hiding inside one of the storage rooms, his codec blared and he answered it, where the girl he encountered after Anderson's death spoke to her, and there she introduced herself as Melissa, and apologized for what happened earlier, reasoning that she has no idea that he is here to stop the terrorists.
Melissa also said that Nezu contacted her and filled her in on some details, as well as revealing that Midoriya is one of All Might's students at UA Academy, and thus she can trust him for now in the duration of this secret mission, which Midoriya said that it is okay, as what matters is that they can now work together in stopping the terrorists.
"Whoa…you sure act in a hero-like way…just like Uncle Might…"
"Well…"
"Then this makes me feel at ease."
"Eh?"
"Since you're Uncle Might's student…I will trust you for the duration of this situation."
"Okay. Let's work together."
"You got it."
"…"
Melissa then asked if what Nezu said is true, that Baker died, which Midoriya confirmed and said that Baker died the same way as Anderson…a suspected heart attack, which Melissa expressed suspicion, saying that both Anderson and Baker had their medical checkup a month before this, saying that both men had a good bill of health and that neither one of them have any heart ailments.
"So you think that Baker and Anderson were killed by something else…?"
"I believe so. Their medical results from last month shows that their hearts are well and no irregularities are detected."
"Really?"
"Yes. No enlargement of the heart…no blocked arteries…not even a trace of cholesterol or diabetes…"
"So both are healthy…but…"
"That's why I suspect that something is amiss…"
"Okay…we'll see if I could extract their bodies and have them undergo autopsy once this crisis is solved…"
"Fine."
After that Melissa said that she would try navigating around and open the nearest door after learning of his current position, using a PAL card, and tells him where to meet her, which Midoriya says that she might get into harm's way, but she tells him that this is better than getting caught and getting locked up again, which Midoriya unsuccessfully tried to dissuade her.
Left with no choice, Midoriya stealthily moves around and made sure that no one would see and caught him as he is awaiting Melissa's call on what to do next after telling him that she would try to covertly open an emergency door that would lead him outside to another adjacent base area where they would find a way to reach out to Hal Emmerich.
Soon his codec blared and Midoriya answers it, where Melissa told him that she was able to open a door near his current location, and gave him the coordinates on where to go, which he nodded as he stealthily went to the location of the opened sliding door that Melissa provided, and soon Midoriya was outside, where a slightly heavy snowfall took place and moments later, Melissa, still disguised as a masked terrorist soldier, came and waved at him so as to let him know that it was her.
The two meet up and formally introduced to each other and both slowly got a bit comfortable but he still expressed worry that she might get hurt as they might encountered more formidable opponents like how he fought Revolver Ocelot, though Melissa assured to him that she knows when to back off, and there she brought out an invention, which appeared to be a night-vision goggles which has a special function where it can visually detect hidden landmines that are covered in thick snow.
"Huh?"
"You heard me."
"Detect landmines…?"
"Yup. These are terrorists we're dealing with, so things like landmines are common…"
"I guess…"
"Use the goggles and you'll find them…"
"Really?"
"Really."
Seeing that time is of the essence, Midoriya and Melissa went off and traveled northward to find the adjacent base-like facility where they believed where Hal Emmerich is located, and as they traveled by foot for about five minutes, the snowfall slowly ceased yet the visibility is not quite clear, and there Melissa made him stop as she uses the goggles and found several landmines stealthily placed at specific areas.
"Wait…"
"You detected them?"
"Yes…and are placed in specific areas…one wrong step and you'll spend the rest of your life on a wheelchair…"
"!"
"And since I can see them…we can avoid stepping into one…"
"For real…?"
"Yes. Shall we…?"
"O-okay…"
She motions Midoriya to follow her lead and the two teens managed to avoid the areas where the landmines are placed, and after two minutes they could see the adjacent base-like facility just north of their direction, and there Melissa said that they should head there at once while there are no guards around, which Midoriya obliges at first but then held her arm and told her to wait, saying that he SENSED DANGER nearby.
"Melissa…wait…"
"?"
"I sensed something…"
"Eh?"
"Danger…there's danger…!"
"Eh…?"
"Go and hide! It's quite a large one!"
"What?"
Suddenly, an armored tank appeared and blocked the two teens' path, and there Midoriya became worried and pushed Melissa towards a huge, thick boulder that would hide one person as Midoriya moved to the opposite direction in the hopes of luring the tank away from where Melissa is hiding, which worked, as the tank fired its shell and nearly hit its target but Midoriya uses Full Cowling to evade the tank shells.
As Midoriya moved around in a bid to confuse the Rider of the tank, he recalled about the landmines hidden, and using the goggles, he was able to detect the landmines and managed to avoid them but he is forced to go into the firing range of the tank, and the tank opened fire, though its shell narrowly missed the moving Midoriya.
Inside the tank, two terrorist soldiers in cold-resistant soldier uniforms, are seen calibrating and loading the tank she'll, while the driver is seen, which the man is bald, and its skin tone and accent shows that he is an Inuit, and there he is told that Midoriya won't be an easy target yet the Inuit said it is fine.
"He's no ordinary kid…"
"He moves faster than a bunny…"
"It doesn't matter. Just target him with everything you got."
"You sure?"
"It appears that he has a Quirk…"
"Regardless…we will take him down. Do it now."
"Yes sir…"
"Yes sir…"
"Good."
The Inuit is identified as Vulcan Raven, and there he told the two soldiers to focus on Midoriya and disable him as possible, saying that they are under STRICT ORDERS to capture him alive, possibly to extract information, which the two soldiers nodded in acknowledgement, seeing that Raven orders are strict and came from the OVERALL LEADER.
"I don't care how you do it. Just disable him. Even if it means amputating that boy's legs."
"Yes sir…"
"Yes sir…"
"Remember…the BOSS wants him…no matter what."
"Yes sir…"
"Yes sir…"
"Now do it."
"Yes sir…"
"Yes sir…"

Hope you liked this chapter, as Midoriya appeared to be in an unexpected situation. What was supposed to be another rescue mission turn into another complication as Kenneth Baker died in the same manner that befell the DARPA chief…and now Midoriya is more baffled than before…
And the girl who appeared in the previous chapters is revealed to be Melissa, and her role here would be altered a bit since this fic is AU though retaining some of her traits from the MHA movie The Two Heroes…
The second boss battle is now underway as Vulcan Raven appeared and is now after Midoriya…
