A/N I don't own KH nor Naruto but I don't own this story. Why is it called a Thanksgiving surprise? You'll find out in the end of the chapter. Enjoy.
To say it will be a special Thanksgiving is an understatement for Naruko Haruno. Her family is coming but so is her Neighbors the Lockharts for the second year in a row since they moved. Life is working well for Naruko. Her show's ratings is higher than a X-wing shooting a Tie-fighter. Her marriage to Sakuro Haruno is stronger than ever. She also has a great relationship with her neighbor and new best friend Sora Lockhart who is married to her co-star Kaito. Now it was Thanksgiving and Naruko and Sora went through last minute Shopping before preparing for Tommorrow's Thanksgiving.
"Okay... so you got the Cranberry sauce crossed, right?" Sora asked. Her friend nodded while holding the can of Cranberry sauce.
"All right then, we got everything."
"Right..." Sora agreed. But before she knows it, She started feeling sick as she holds on to her stomach. Sora noticed it and lowered her eyes for concern.
"Naruko, are you okay?" Naruko didn't answer it as she rushes over the women's bathroom and started throwing up. Sora followed her, concerned for her friend. She knocked on the door.
"Uh, Naruko?" She knocked. Her answer was hearing gags. Sora's eyes widen. She recognized that gag. After a moment, Naruko was done.
"Naruko, are you okay?" Sora asked. She has a feeling what it is but she wants Naruko to confirm. "You've been throwing up like that for the past 3 weeks." Naruko wiped her mouth and nodded.
"I'm fine, I found out why I have been throwing up, too." Naruko said while twirling her fingers.
"Which is..." Sora asked.
"...I'm pregnant." Was all could she say. Naruko expected her to be shocked. However, Sora sighed and shook her head.
"I knew it." Naruko looked at her in confusion. Sora Crossed her arms. "Oh come on, Naruko. I'm a mother of two boys. I could tell what's a pregnancy gag, sickly gag or a running gag." Naruko sighed. She does have a good point.
"How long?" Sora asked.
"About three weeks. I found out Yesterday, and to be honest... it made me happy. I was watching my kids grow and how much I miss having a baby. I talked to Sakuro about it and he agreed. After our anniversary date..."
"Okay, okay. I get it." Sora interrupted before Naruko could reveal embarassing secrets. "So, when do you plan on telling him."
"Tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner." Naruko answered. Sora smiled. It would be fitting.
The next day, Naruko woke up and prepared for Thanksgiving dinner. Her 12 year old daughter gives her hand by filling up the dressing. Naruko stuffed the turkey then puts it in the oven. Sora later walked in and helped boil the mash potatoes and later made some yams. She's quite good at it too, considering she's a chef. The ladies started making pies for dessert. While they wait for their dinner, Naruko and Sora sat down for a break while Shinra went off to her to play Nintendo switch with her friend Yoshi.
"So, Satsuki is at her family?" Asked Sora.
"Yeah, but your family is coming right?" Naruko asked. Sora nodded. They both heard the doorbell ring.
"That must be them." Sora said. Both ladies adjusted their clothes and walked to the living room and opened the door to see their husbands welcoming their guests. It was Naruko's parents Minako and Kushi, Sakuro's parents Mebuki and Kizashi. Sora's parents Areis and Zakki also came. So did Sora's oldest sister Venus and her son Ren. And their youngest sister Roxy and her husband Namanine.
"Hi, Naruko." Minako greeted. "Happy Thanksgiving."
"Happy Thanksgiving, Mom." Naruko said as he hugs her mother. However during the hug, Minako had a... familiar feeling. She releases the hug and smirked. Naruko got nervous. She knows her mother well.
"So... I gotta go check out the Turkey. Sora would you come join me?" Sora nodded.
"I'll come help." Minako offered but Naruko waved her arms.
"No, no. It's okay, Mom. We don't need help." But Minako refused to listen as she holds Sora's hand. Sora stood there for a moment then laughed nervously.
"Guess I better join." She said as she walks to the kitchen to see Naruko and Minako sitting on the table.
"Okay... spill. How long?" Minako asked. Naruko sighed. Her mother is smart to know when someone is pregnant. weeks. I found out the other day. That's why Satsuki replace me that day." Minako squealed and holds on to her daughter's wrist, earning a confused look from Sora.
"Wait, you guess Naruko is pregnant? How?" Naruko sighed and explains her power.
"We don't know why but the last two times I got pregnant, she always figure it out before I could tell her. It happened to her Grandmother, to my grandmother and it happened to her when I was pregnant with Shinra and Yoshi."
"Oh..." Sora said in understanding.
It was around 4:00 which means it was time for Thanksgiving dinner. The women set the food on the table while the kids were in the playroom, playing Nintendo switch and the guys were watching Football. The Lions as usual is getting pounded into Thanksgiving stuffing. A half-hour later, it was already time for supper. Sakuro sat at the head of the table with his wife joining him.
"Now..." Naruko was the first to speak. "Hana, would you start off like to say what you're Thankful for?"
"I'm thankful for my family and friends..." Hana replied. "i'm also thankful for my Nintendo Switch." That made everyone laugh. Now his big sister took her turn.
"Same, I'm also thankful to live in neighborhood with full of nice people. I'm also thankful for our neighbors the Lockharts."
"Me too." Yoshi agreed with a blush.
"Me, three!" Jou cheered while raising his hand making the adults chuckle. The grandparents said that their thankful for their spouses, children, their spouses and their beautiful grandchildren. Now it was Kaito's turn. Roxy said she was thankful for her husband and daughter. She's also thankful for her sisters. Namanine is thankful for the same. Venus is thankful for her son and how he lifts her spirits.
"Well... obviously I am thankful for my beautiful wife and kids. I'm also thankful for my neighbors and friends Sakuro Haruno and my co-worker Naruko. I am also thankful for our fans and Kentucky basketball. Without them, I would be some clown entertaining spoiled rich kids birthday." That made everyone laugh. This time his wife said what she's thankful for.
"I'm thankful for my husband, children, parents and friends as well. I'm thankful for my job at Destiny Island's Grille. Naruko, even though I known you for about a year, I feel like we've been sisters so I am thankful for that." She touched her friend's shoulder.
"So, thanks." Naruko smiled and patted her friend's shoulder. "You're welcome." Sakuro smiled then cleared his voice.
"I'm thankful for my wife, children and job." He then holds Naruko's hand. "I am thankful to be married to a kind, thoughtful and beautiful woman named Naruko. Without her, my life would be empty. I don't think I would be as happy if I married another woman. So, thank you." Naruko smiled and gave her husband a kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks, Honey." Naruko said. She sighed while patting her stomach and sighed.
"I'm also thankful that I'm married to you. I'm thankful for my job and my friends. Kaito, I'm thankful that you're my co-worker and I'm thankful for our fans. I'm also thankful for you, Sora. Satsuki may have been my best friend since I was little but you are like another sister to us. We have shopping adventures and we both love Marvel and Star Wars." Sora squeezed Kaito's hand. Naruko then turns to her two kids.
"But most of all, I'm thankful for my children. They've been the strength I need. They cheered me up through horrible days no matter what and I expect my third child to do the same." Hearing that made Sakuro pause in surprise. His brain couldn't fathom on what his wife just said.
"Naruko... are you?" Naruko didn't say anything. Instead she nodded. Sakuro laughed and stands up and twirls his wife around then he gives her a kiss. The kids gagged while the women sigh and the men gave them a thumbs up. It was a Thanksgiving surprise but it was a wonderful one.
And I finished it the day before Thanksgiving. Yep, Naruko is pregnant. Didn't expect that, huh? Well next one shot is Christmas during her pregnancy then after is when she gives birth. I am excited to write that. Anyway I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving. Take care.
