Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter.
Let's get to it.
BlackWatcher1234: Yes, the Terrans emphasize quality and firepower over numbers. And technically it wasn't that one kamikaze fighter that destroyed the Executor, but was the final blow. And I will confirm that the Freedom will take on at least two Executor class ships, but maybe not the Executor herself. And,tto answer your questions: 1) Yes, there were more Jedi that came to Earth during the Intergalactic Cold War. I'll confirmCal was one. 2) The Empire and the Alliance have the ability to communicate with each other, but it is almost never used, and there are no diplomatic relations between them. 3) they may have had a minor role in creating the rebellion, but only minor. 4) Yes, sawgererra still fought on his own. And there were a few Terran mercenaries that had joi ed the rebellion that fought with Saw. I'll go I to detail later.
jar jar abrams: Yes, I will try and fix the mistakes of the sequel trilogy.
Lorenzo Ferrari: Even though the Terran Alliance in general has more superior ships, the Empire ridiculously outnumbers the Alliance. So, it's still not going to be an easy fight. Also, by this time, WWII weapons would have been out of service for too long. There may be some updated weapons based loosely on WWII weapons.
RandomFanAuthor: It already has. At this point, although it is still called the Terran Alliance, it has formed into a government governing Earth and other planets that have joined the alliance.
Guest DCDGojira: The Ghost and its crew will make a cameo at Scariff, and probably a few times in this story. I won't reveal yet what Barriss is up to. As for which original ASAT members that retired, you'll see in this chapter.
Jayhawks: Yes, we will see species from other Alliance member worlds in this series.
Kommando Kronk: I won't reveal them all at once, but I'll start revealing them soon.
Matthewleach01: I don't know if I'll do that in this story, but I may. I had planned on incorporating Ossus in the third story, but I may include it here too.
andrewjameswilliams: The SF-23 is equipped with experimental cloaking tech.
JLCW: If you didn't already catch it in the first chapter, the Terran Star Forge was completed in 2004, and ever since has bee manufacturing warships, fighters, and droids for the Alliance.
Guest: Not sure about saving Jyn and Cassian.
Guest 2: I'm working on pictures for the ships, bit I'll confirm that London class ships are basically identical in appearance to Victory class Star Destroyers, just bigger and with more firepower
Chapter 3- Terran Envoy
(September 5, 2013)
As the sun begins to set over the landscape of the eastern United States, Admiral Samuel Adams makes his way to a conference room in the Pentagon. Adams has long since retired from the ASAT team, given that he's now in his early 50s. Of the original 12 ASAT team members, only Tyler Hall and Harry Paton, now both Lieutenant Generals and both 49 years old, are still on the team. However, of the other 10 members of the original team, all but Toshiyuki Yamazaki are still in the military in various leadership roles, and still practice with their lightsabers regularly.
Adams is now the head of the Terran Special Operations Command, the Terran Alliance's version of the US JSOC command. Adams had previously served as the commander of TSOC's training, and had been promoted to his current post in January of this year.
Entering the conference room, he sees High General Dempsey, the head of the Terran Joint Command, waiting for him.
"General," Adams says, saluting Dempsey.
"Welcome, Admiral," Dempsey says, returning the salute before gesturing him to take a seat.
"What's the situation, General?" Adams asks.
"We've received an intelligence report from a CIA team that was on a recon trip to the Andromeda Galaxy. They've discovered evidence that the Empire is building a battlestation equipped with a weapon that is capable of destroying planets in a single blast," Dempsey explains.
Adams is quiet for a moment, then asks, "Well, what are we planning to do about it?"
"We've prepared an envoy to send to the galaxy and contact the Rebel Alliance. At the moment, my colleagues and I in the Joint Command are discussing with governmental leaders about the possibility of initiating war with the Empire. However, as of the moment, governmental leaders have authorized us to send a team to advise the Rebels and train them, and work with them to address this threat. We have selected you to lead the team," General Dempsey says.
Adams is quiet for a moment, then nods. "Very well. When do I leave?" he asks.
"In 12 hours. The team is being assembled here in DC. You'll be taking a small transport there," Dempsey says before standing over and walking over to Adams to hand him a file, "Everything you'll need to know about your team and the situation in the Andromeda Galaxy is in this file. We need you at the Reagan International Airport in 12 hours."
Adams takes the file and stands up, then salutes Dempsey. "Understood, General. I'll prepare to depart immediately," he says before doing an about face and making his way out of the Pentagon.
Adams spends hours preparing to depart as well as reviewing the files on each member of the team accompanying him, which includes a dozen combat instructors, six logistical officers, five intelligence officers, six technicians, and twelve Delta Force commandos.
Finally, a little over 10 hours after the meeting with General Dempsey in the Pentagon, Adams leaves his home in DC and heads for the Reagan International Airport.
When he gets there, he finds the team ready to go. The ship they'll be taking, one of the original Consular class cruisers given to the Terran Alliance by the Republic, is parked on the tarmac near one of the terminals.
As Adams approaches the ship, one of the Deltas sees him approaching and says, "Group, atten-hut!" Everyone snaps to attention as Adams approaches.
"At ease, gentlemen," Adams says, and the group returns to what they were doing.
Adams looks at the Delta who spoke and says, "What's your name, son?"
"Captain Kent Rollings, sir," he responds.
"Well, Captain Rollings, are we ready to go?" Adams asks.
"Just about, sir. We just have to get the rest of the gear on the ship, and then we'll be ready to go," Rollings says.
"Alright. Then let's get it done," Adams says. Adams helps the team take the remaining gear and supplies onto the ship and secure it in the cargo hold. The team then makes their way to the passenger areas as the pilots power up the ship. Right on time, the ship lifts off the tarmac and climbs into the sky.
As they climb into orbit, one of the pilots gets on the commlink and says, "Consular class cruiser TAS Diplomat contacting TAS Sentinel. We are in orbit and requesting permission to make hyperspace jump."
The TAS Sentinel was the only Venator class Star Destroyer still in active service with the Terran Starfleet. All others had been retired, and all but the TAS Invincible had been scrapped or disposed of in live firing exercises (the Invincible had been decomissioned and now served as a stationary training vessel in which new sailors of the Starfleet received final hands on training before their assignment). Sentinel no longer served as a combat ship. Rather, she served a similar purpose as an air traffic control tower, monitoring all space traffic in and around Earth.
"This is TAS Sentinel. We hear you, Diplomat, and you are cleared for hyperspace jump," a controller responds.
The pilot maneuvers the ship to avoid the Star Destroyer TAS Seattle up ahead, then says, "Standby for hyperspace jump." He then pushes the throttles forward, and the ship jumps into hyperspace.
(September 16, 2013)
Adams looks out the front viewport as the ship drops out of hyperspace in the Yavin system. The Terran Joint Command had known of the location of the Rebel base on Yavin 4 since shortly after it was established.
The pilot guides the ship towards Yavin 4 as the co-pilot contacts the base to alert them that a Terran ship is coming in.
The pilots land outside one of the Massassi temples and begin to power down the ship. As they do, Adams gathers his team and heads down the ramp.
As they reach the bottom of the ramp, they find a group of Rebels waiting for them. And, to their surprise, Bail Organa is at the head of the group.
Bail smiles as they approach. "Admiral Adams. It has been a long time," he says.
Adams smiles as he reaches out his hand, which Bail takes. "It has been a long time, Bail. Can't believe it's been 19 years. You've aged well," he says, drawing a chuckle from Bail.
"Come with me. We have some things we must discuss," Bail says. Adams nods, and he and the team follow Bail into the temple.
And, I'll end there. I couldn't think of too much more to add, so I hope you don't mind that this was short.
Also, quick reference. So, as I mentioned, all of the original team except Hall and Paton have left the team due to age. For those wondering, these are the ages of the original 12 ASAT members: Adams- 52; Hall- 49; Wilson- 50; Ivankov- 49; Stasevich- 52; White- 51; Paton-49; Rommel- 52; Peretz- 53; Mofaz- 51; Han- 52; Yamazaki- 55.
Next chapter will cut back to Earth, then we'll be getting into the events of Rogue One in Chapter 5. In any case, I think you'll like the next chapter. I'll have it up later today.
