***Three week's later - Jim's POV - LAPD S.W.A.T Headquarters***
I slight smile crept onto my face when I saw Molly standing next to my bike.
"Not that I'm complaining, but what are you doing here?" I asked.
"We need to talk," she said.
"What is it?"
"I'm worried about you," she said. "I know you've been through an awful thing but you have been there for me and taken care of me in every way possible. Let me take care of you."
"Mol—"
"Don't deny it; you keep pulling away," she said.
I sighed, and took her hands in mine.
"You always had a family you could rely on and that was there for you. I didn't. I got used to getting through stuff on my own and I'm not a misery loves company guy and I didn't want to drag you down with me when you're already going through stuff."
"You're such an idiot. That's the point of being with somebody it means you don't have to face the pain alone."
I smiled again. "But I'm your idiot."
She cracked a smile, and took a half a step forward to give her a lingering kiss, and brought my hands to her cheeks to steal a second before moving them to her hips to keep her close to me.
"Wanna go for a ride?"
I'd love to," she said, taking the spare helmet from me. She caught me by surprised when she playfully smacked my ass as I mounted the bike. I looked back at her with a bemused look as she slid on the helmet then rest her hand on my arm to keep her balance as she mounted the bike behind me.
"This bike isn't the only thing I'd like to ride today," she said, snuggling up behind me, far closer than necessary to safely ride the bike.
"Well, let's get you home," I said, closing up the kick stand and driving us out of the lot.
