Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter.

So, this will cover the Battle of Scarif. It'll cover mostly the space battle, with a little bit of the ground battle, and feature a faceoff you guys are probably gonna be excited to see.

Let's get to it.

1049: There may be several ships with such names.

Guest DCDGojira: I won't reveal when Luke's love interest will appear first.

Dalej0523: A story about the Yuuzhan Vong is not out of the question.

Peter Hong Kong: Well, the Terrans have no intention to rule the Andromeda Galaxy, so the New Republic won't be a puppet government of the Terrans. I wouldn't say the Alliance will son be the more dominant power, but they'll definitely prove they can be a match for the Empire.

COOL JAZZMAN: Alderaan won't be saved. I'm not sure when the Freedom will face its first battle.

Kommando Kronk: Thrawn will be mentioned a few times, and may make one or two cameos.

Guest 1: No, I don't think the Death Star could be captured except by an attack by the entire Terran Starfleet and probably a million troops.

Guest 2: By the time of the sequel trilogy, there may be some Terran restaurants set up in the Andromeda Galaxy.

Ke-Pa: Yes.

Guest 3: I'm not sure if I'll explain how there are humans in two different galaxies. I may leave that up to my readers' imagination.

DeutscheReich: I live in the United States, so we're not fully locked down, but quarantining pretty heavily.

Chapter 6- Battle of Scarif

Admiral Adams sighs as he walks out after Mon Mothma, General Draven, and General Merrick. He and General Draven had not been getting along since they first met each other, as Adams found Draven to be too ruthless.

As Adams follows behind the three, he suddenly hears someone shouting, "Senator! Senator!"

Adams turns around and sees a man running up behind them. As the man gets close to them, General Merrick reaches out to try and stop him, saying, "Stop right there, Private."

"Let him speak," Mothma says.

The man looks at Mothma and says, "Intercepted Imperial transmission, ma'am. Rebels on Scarif."

Adams begins to grin as Mothma says, "I need to speak with Admiral Raddus."

"He's returning to his ship. He's going to fight," the man says.

Mothma begins to smile as she, Draven, and Merrick exchange glances.

"And so am I. Follow us if you wish," Adams says before turning around and walking back towards the base.

As Adams enters the temple, he sees the rest of his team he brought to Yavin 4. Adams approaches the men. As soon as he sees them look at him, he says, "Men, I'm going with the Rebels to Scarif. I want you all to remain here. If we fail, I want you to take the Diplomat and get the rebel leadership off the moon."

"Understood, Admiral," one of the men says.

Adams then turns and walks away to where a small rebel ship is waiting along with its crew. "Take me to the Profundity," he orders.

"Yes, Admiral," one of the men says. He knows the stories told of Samuel Adams from the Clone Wars, and isn't about to ignore a direct order from him, even if he's not technically a part of the rebellion.

Adams boards the shuttle, which quickly takes him up into orbit, when the MC75 cruiser Profundity is waiting. The shuttle lands in the Profundity's hangar bay, and Adams disembarks from the shuttle and heads towards the command bridge.

As Adams walks onto the bridge, he sees Admiral Raddus already sitting in his chair. Raddus turns around, turning to look at Adams.

"Admiral Adams. Good to have you with us," Raddus says.

"I'm not about to ignore a fight," Adams says with a slight smile.

The rest of the rebel fleet quickly begins to assemble in orbit as the orders go out. Finally, every ship that can be gathered is present, and the fleet makes its jump to hyperspace.

(Scarif Base)

Captain Rollings ducks down behind a crate, then pops back up and fires his M4 assault rifle, killing two stormtroopers. He and another Delta, 1st Lieutenant Andy Ferrell, had gone with the main group to draw stormtroopers away, while leaving the other ten Deltas to protect the shuttle.

Beside him, Ferrell fires a burst from his own M4, then crouches down beside his commander. "This is gonna be tougher than I thought, Captain," he says.

"We have to hold out, or Erso and Andor won't be able to get out with the plans. We can do this, Lieutenant," he says before popping up and firing another burst.

As Rollings ducks back down, he hears something. The sound of something heavy hitting the ground.

Rollings sighs in frustration as he glances to the side and sees an AT-ACT emerging from the mist surrounding the site of the fight.

"Everyone! Walkers! Move!" Rollings shouts loud enough for everyone to hear. All of the Rebels turn to look at the incoming walker, then leap up and start running after Rollings and Ferrell into the trees, away from the AT-ACTs.

(Orbit)

Adams smiles a bit as the Profundity emerges from hyperspace, and Scarif appears below them.

"This is Admiral Raddus of the Rebel Alliance! All squadron leaders, report in!" Raddus says over the radio.

"Admiral, this is Blue Leader, standing by," General Merrick responds.

"This is Gold Leader, standing by," Gold Leader, Jon Vander, responds.

"This is Red Leader, standing by," Red Leader, Garven Dreis, responds.

"Wish I had one of our squadrons here," Adams mutters to himself.

"Red and Gold Squadrons, attack formations. Defend the fleet. Blue squadron, get to the surface before they close that gate!" Admiral Raddus orders.

Adams watches as X-Wings and a U-Wing of Blue Squadron peel off and dive towards the shield gate. Many of the X-Wings and the U-Wing are able to get through before the shield gate closes. Two X-Wings crash into the shield, while the remaining three manage to pull out of their dives to avoid crashing into the shield.

"Well, that may complicate things," Adams says.

(Surface)

Rollings jumps to the side to avoid an exploding laser blast from an AT-ACT, his mind rushing through options for how to destroy the walkers.

He and the rest of the team burst out of the trees onto an open section of beach, leaping into ditches in the sand. As they hunker down, Baze Malbus raises a rocket launcher and fires it right at the AT-ACT approaching them. The rocket explodes against the side of the walker's head, knocking it sideways. But, a second later, the head rights itself, aiming back at them again.

"Well, we might be screwed," Rollings says.

No sooner are the words out of his mouth than a laser bolt hits the walker in the neck and explodes.

"Look!" Baze shouts right as more laser bolts blow the AT-ACT apart, and the X-Wings of Blue Squadron fly overhead, drawing cheers from the Rebels and two Deltas. The X-Wings then begin turning around for another run.

(Orbit)

In orbit, the battle is raging. Aboard the Profundity, Admiral Raddus looks through the viewport below him and asks, "What's going on down there, Lieutenant?"

"Unknown, sir. We can't raise them. All rebel frequencies are blocked," one of the Mon Calamari on the bridge says.

"Well keep trying. In the meantime, we need to engage those Star Destroyers, and start probing that shield! And make sure to take out the laser cannons on the shield gate!" Adams says firmly. Despite him not being part of the Rebellion, the Mon Calamari on the bridge obey without hesitation.

X-Wings from Red Squadron dive towards the shield gate, firing away at the laser cannons and turbolasers placed to defend the shield gate. Several are shot down, but they destroy many of the laser cannons and turbolasers.

(Surface)

The U-Wing attached to Blue Squadron circles around at AT-ACT. In the door, a gunner fires an ion pulse cannon at the walker's legs. After a volley of blasts, the blasts disrupt the electric tensor field supporting the legs, and walker collapses. Several X-Wings fire their laser cannons at the last AT-ACT, blowing it apart.

(Orbit)

Adams watches as several X-Wings move to attack one of the Star Destroyers protecting the shield gate, with one of the X-Wings destroying one of the sensor bulbs on the bridge.

Seconds later, Y-Wings of Gold Squadron fly over the Profundity before diving towards the shield gate to commence their attack. Two Y-Wings are shot down, but the other begin firing proton torpedoes at the shield gate.

As the Y-Wings pull out of their first run, hangar bays on the shield gate open, and what seems like over a hundred TIE fighters fly out of them, heading up to engage the rebel fleet.

"Sir, enemy fighters incoming!" a Mon Calamari lieutenant says.

"All friendly fighters on the TIE fighters, now! All defensive laser cannons, fire!" Adams orders, and the Mon Calamari begin to relay his order.

(Surface)

Rollings keeps running, trying to keep out of range of the pursuing stormtroopers.

Suddenly, Rollings hear Melshi behind him on the radio. He stops and hunkers down amidst some bushes while looking at Melshi. After a few more moments, Melshi stops at looks at Rollings.

"We need to find a master switch at the comms tower! Bodhi can't open up a line to the fleet unless we do!" Melshi says.

"Well, then take us there!" Rollings says. Melshi nods and they race after the rest of the team.

As they're running, Blue Squadron's U-Wing flies up and hovers right over the beach just ahead of them. Then, about a dozen men leap out of the craft, firing their blasters at any stormtrooper in range.

(Orbit)

Several X-Wings dive towards the shield gate, firing proton torpedoes, which explode harmlessly against it.

"We're having no effect on that shield!" one of the pilots says.

"How much more can that thing take?" another pilot asks rhetorically.

A few seconds later, several TIE fighters come up behind a formation of X-Wings, and one breaks away.

"Stick close, Red Five. Where are you going?" Red Leader calls over the radio.

"They're all over me. I'm trying to lose them," Red Five responds. A moment later, he says over the radio, "This is Red Five! I need help!"

A second later, a TIE fighter fires on him, and the X-Wing explodes.

Adams watches Red Five explode, taking note of how the battle seems to be getting progressively worse for the rebels.

(Surface)

On Landing Pad 9, the Deltas and a number of Rebels left behind to guard the shuttle are waiting. The Deltas had set up on either side of the tram stop on the edge of the pad.

As one of the Deltas, 1st Lieutenant Gavin Davis, looks over at where Bodhi is trying to untangle a comms cable he's trying to take back to the shuttle, the doors of the tram stop suddenly open, and shoretroopers come walking out.

Davis freezes, then slowly pokes his head up. The Deltas on the other side of the doors poke their heads up too. Davis gives a few hand signals, then turns to his men with him and makes the same signals. His men all nod.

The ten Deltas wait as the shoretroopers walk past them. Once all the shoretroopers have passed them, Davis scoots over to the side and aims his M4 at one of the shoretroopers. Aiming right at the head, he pulls the trigger and fires brief burst. One of the bullets goes right through the shoretrooper's neck, and the trooper collapses dead.

The rest of the Deltas open fire the moment they hear Davis fire. A hail of bullets begins to cut down the shoretroopers, who can't immediately find where the fire is coming from due to not being able to see the bullets.

The rebels, seeing the distraction that the Deltas have given them, open fire on the shoretroopers as well. The shoretroopers slowly begin to return fire, but are quickly forced to scatter to find shelter.

Davis rushes over to Bodhi. "Come on!" he says loudly, pulling Bodhi to his feet and pulling him towards the shuttle as one of the other Deltas fires a grenade from the grenade launcher attached to his assault rifle.

Davis and Bodhi manage to make it into the shuttle, where Davis stands over him, firing at any shoretrooper he can see.

Meanwhile, near another landing pad, Rollings and Ferrell race towards the comms tower with what's left of their team. As they do, they see an X-Wing crashing into some trees near the comms tower.

Rollings and Ferrell fire grenades at the stormtroopers on the bank they're running towards, killing a number of them. The rebels quickly kill what few stormtroopers are left on the beach.

Right as they're reaching the beach, Blue Squadron's U-Wing is shot down and crashes on the beach just ahead of them. As the team stops to cover their faces, a TIE Reaper flies up and stops in midair, lowering a ramp and allowing a squad of Death troopers to disembark and begin firing. Two rebels are killed within seconds.

Rollings and Ferrell whip around and fire back at the Death troopers. They successfully kill two of them before a blaster bolt hits Ferrell in the face killing him.

Rollings runs as fast as he can backwards, firing away at the Death troopers who are starting to take shelter behind a ridge of sand.

Rollings and what's left of the team take shelter in alcoves in the entrance to the tram stop, trying to avoid fire from the Death troopers. Melshi looks at the team and says, "The master switch. It's over there!"

"I'm going!" one man shouts. He bursts out, firing his blaster, but is quickly shot down.

Rollings continues to fire back as much as he can. But, in a matter of seconds, Melshi and the last remaining rebel soldier are killed, leaving Rollings, Baze, and Chirrut as the only ones left.

As Rollings fires a burst at the Death troopers, he suddenly hears, "I'm one with the Force, and the Force is with me."

Rollings turns and sees Chirrut beginning to walk towards the comm tower, holding his staff out in front of him, repeating that same phrase again and again.

"Chirrut! No!" Baze says.

"Don't worry, Baze! I'll cover him!" Rollings shouts before charging out into the open, firing his blaster pistols at the Death troopers.

The Death troopers fire back at Rollings. However, Rollings tries running in a zig zag pattern, managing to avoid their fire for several moments while managing to kill one Death trooper.

Then, a blaster bolt hits him in the chest, knocking him back. However, much of the blast was absorbed by new body armor worn by the Deltas that is designed to protect against blaster bolts. Rollings straightens back up and returns fire. He kills one more Death trooper before he's hit again. This time, the bolt knocks him to the ground.

Glancing over, Rollings sees Chirrut pull the master switch. He grins before looking back towards the Death troopers, and sees one standing up a bit and aiming his blaster at him. Rollings aims his blaster pistol and fires just before the Death trooper fires. He is just able to see his shot hit the Death trooper before the trooper's bolt hits him and he knows no more.

(Orbit)

Adams stumbles a bit as a TIE fighter swoops in while firing at the bridge, and the explosions shake the bridge.

"Deflector shields down to 50 percent. We're sustaining heavy damage!" one of the Mon Calamari says.

"There's no turning back now! We have to press the attack!" Admiral Raddus declares.

As Adams watches out of the main viewport, up ahead, he sees several Y-Wings attack one of the Star Destroyers with ion torpedoes. As the torpedoes hit, Adams watches as what looks like waves of electricity wash over the ship, and the ship began to list.

"They disabled the Star Destroyer!" he says loudly.

Only a few seconds later, they suddenly hear Bodhi's voice shouting over the radio, "Is there anybody out there? This is Rogue One! Come in, over!"

Raddus immediately looks down towards Scarif as he says, "This is Admiral Raddus. Rogue One, we hear you!"

"They found the plans! They found the Death Star plans! They have to broadcast them from the communications tower! You have to blow a hole in the shield gate! It's the only way we're going to get them through!" Bodhi says.

Raddus turns to his men and says, "Call up a Hammerhead corvette! I have an idea!"

Adams smiles. "I like the way you think," he says, already catching on to what Raddus is thinking.

(Surface)

"Standby, Rogue One. We're on it!" Bodhi and Davis hear Raddus say over the radio.

"This is for you, Galen," Bodhi says.

Outside, the shoretroopers are slowly gaining ground. Some reinforcements have arrived, and they've killed several of the rebels and two of the Deltas. However, the Deltas still have prime positions, and are killing shoretrooper after shoretrooper.

One trooper, wanting to guarantee the rebels can't escape, arms a grenade and rushes towards the shuttle, throwing the grenade in. However, given where Davis is standing, the trooper doesn't see him.

As soon as he sees the grenade hit the floor, Davis rushes towards it and grabs it. He then runs to the ramp, and, as the beeping speeds up, hurls the grenade towards the shoretroopers.

The grenade detonates in a giant explosion, killing almost all of the remaining shoretroopers, and causing some light shrapnel damage to the shuttle. Thankfully, not enough to keep it from flying.

The seven remaining Deltas, seeing the advantage the grenade has given them, move swiftly. Four of them leap up from their hiding places and charge towards the remaining shoretroopers, firing their assault rifles, and even a grenade. Within moments, the remaining shoretroopers on the landing pad are all dead.

The Deltas move to retake their positions on either side of the tram stop, and one of them shouts, "We have to hold this landing pad! Stay firm, men!"

(Orbit)

Adams watches as the Hammerhead corvette summoned by Admiral Raddus moves towards the disabled Star Destroyer. Finally, it impacts the starboard side, and the engines throttle up to full power.

Adams watches with a smile as the corvette pushes the Star Destroyer over, slowly but surely, until, finally, it hits the other Star Destroyer, smashing right through the bridge and shredding the upper parts of the ship.

"Well. That worked," he says.

Adams watches as the wreckage of the two Star Destroyers falls towards the shield gate. One of them smashes through the side of the shield gate, causing holes in the shield to open up.

Adams holds his breath, waiting. Then, one of the Mon Calamari says, "Admirals! Receiving transmissions from Scarif."

Moments later, the same Mon Calamari says again, "Admirals, we have the plans!"

"You did it, you crazy b******s," Adams says with a grin.

However, only moments later, one of the Mon Calamari says, "Sir, we're detecting a massive object emerging from hyperspace."

Adams looks out of the viewport, and for the first time, a Terran catches a glimpse of the Death Star as it comes into view.

(Surface)

The Deltas on the landing pad look up and see the Death Star as it comes into view. Then, as they watch, the Death Star fires its superlaser.

"Alright! We need to get the h*** out of here!" Davis shouts. The Deltas and few remaining rebels start racing back towards the shuttle.

(Orbit)

Adams watches as the Death Star's superlaser fires towards Scarif, the beam hitting in the ocean miles away from the base, but sending out a shockwave and fireball that expands towards the base.

"Rogue One, may the Force be with you," Admiral Raddus says solemnly. Raddus then gets on the radio and says, "All ships, prepare for jump to hyperspace."

The fleet begins making their turns and jumping to hyperspace. However, all of a sudden, another Star Destroyer drops out of hyperspace, causing a GR75 transport to crash into it and explode. The Star Destroyer immediately opens fire on the remaining rebel ships.

The rebel ships scatter, trying to escape from the Star Destroyer. However, a number of them begin to break apart under the hammering of the turbolaser bolts.

Adams stumbles again as explosions rack the bridge. However, he steadies himself, then says, "We need to get the plans off this ship! I'll see to it they get to safety!" He then races off of the bridge as fast as he can.

(Surface)

Jyn and Cassian slowly walk along the beach, finally dropping to their knees beside the water, staring at the expanding fireball, then at each other.

"Your father would have been proud of you, Jyn," Cassian says.

Jyn just looks back at him, and slowly takes his hand. But, right as she does, they hear a noise, and look up to see the shuttle fly down and come to a stop right next to them.

The ramp lowers, and a Delta, Master Sergeant Andy Walker, shouts, "Come on!"

Jyn and Cassian just stare in shock, not having expected anyone to still be alive. Seeing them hesitate, and also seeing their wounds, two Deltas leap out of the shuttle and grab them, pulling them towards the shuttle. Two more Deltas pull them aboard, and the two Deltas that leapt out then climb back in before the ramp closes.

In the cockpit, Davis says, or rather shouts, "Get us out of here!"

Bodhi shoves the throttles forward, and the shuttle accelerates, keeping just ahead of the expanding fireball.

Looking out of the viewport and seeing the glow of the fireball getting brighter, he says to Bodhi, "Make the calculations for the jump to lightspeed!"

"But, we're still in the atmosphere! And the shield may still be up!" Bodhi says.

"I doubt it! The shield generator has probably been vaporized by now. In any case, I've studied shields like that. If its like I think it is, then something travelling at light speed may be able to get through," Davis says. Bodhi gives in and begins making the necessary calculations.

Seconds pass, then Bodhi says, "I planned a course that'll at least get us out of here."

Davis shoves the lightspeed throttles forward, and the shuttle jumps into hyperspace. Thankfully, the shield has indeed crumbled by now, and the shuttle successfully makes the jump to hyperspace.

(Orbit)

Aboard the Profundity, several Alderaanian consular security guards are waiting anxiously for the Death Star plans to download to a tape. Finally, the download finishes, and the tape is ejected.

"Come on! We gotta go now!" one of the guards says, and the guards rush down the hallway. They try to open a door, but the door only opens a few inches before coming to a stop.

The guards try and force it open further, but the door remains stuck. "Hey, help us!" they call, but nobody hears them.

Suddenly, they hear something behind them. The guards turn around, nervously aiming their blasters back the way they came.

The end of the hallway is shrouded in darkness and smoke. But, as they sit there waiting, they feel a chill come over them. Then, they hear something. The sound comes again, and it sounds like mechanical breathing.

Then, red light illuminates the end of the hallway as Darth Vader ignites his lightsaber. The guards look on for a second before one shouts, "Open fire!"

The guards open fire on Vader. Vader begins walking towards them casually, swinging his lightsaber and blocking the blaster bolts. Several rebound back and kill the guards that fired them. Vader then reaches out and uses the Force to crush a guard into the ceiling.

Vader then uses the Force to reach out and pull the blasters from the guards hands before cutting them down one by one.

As the last few guards try to stall Vader, the guard holding the tape holds it through the gap towards a guard on the toher side that had come to help.

"Here! Take it! Take it!" the first guard says.

The second guard takes the tape, stumbling back as Vader stabs his lightsaber through the first guard's chest and through the door. Vader then forces the door open as he drops the first guard's body.

However, as he steps through the door, Vader stops short. Standing a few yards in front of him is Adams wearing his Navy camouflage.

The two stand there for a moment before Vader says, "Captain Samuel Adams."

"Actually, its Admiral now. And it's been a long time, Darth Vader. Or should I call you Anakin Skywalker?" he says.

"Anakin Skywalker is dead! I destroyed him!" Vader says angrily.

Adams narrows his eyes. "Then I'll avenge him and fulfill my oath to destroy the Sith," he says. Adams then removes his camouflage jacket. He then removes his lightsaber from his belt and activates it, its purple blade shining brightly.

"Do you really think you can challenge me?" Vader asks.

"I guess we'll find out," Adams says before stepping forward and slashing at Vader's head.

Vader easily blocks his blow, their lightsabers clashing with a loud crackle. Adams then follows up with another strike at Vader's legs, which Vader again blocks.

The two exchange several fierce blows. It's clear that Adams is not quite as nimble as he used to be, but neither is Vader.

The two slash and parry several times before Adams strikes at Vader's chest. Vader blocks it, then, with brute strength forces him back. Vader then uses the Force to send Adams flying back into a wall, causing him to drop his lightsaber.

Vader advances towards him. Adams, struggling against Vader's Force hold, sneers at Vader and says, "Go ahead. Kill me. Kill me knowing that you killed yet another person who once trusted you and called you a friend."

Vader is quiet for a moment before he says, "Oh, I'm not going to kill you. You have uses yet to fulfill. And once you have fulfilled them, you will suffer before you die." Vader then uses the force to throw him into another wall, knocking him out.

Right then, stormtroopers race up. "Sir! The plans are gone! The rebels carrying the plans escaped on a CR90 corvette," the trooper says.

"Return to the ship. We will pursue them and retake the plans," Vader says. He then leans down and picks up Adams' lightsaber, before using the Force to lift Adams off the ground and take him back to the shuttle.

And, I'll end there. Hope you liked it.

So, I did end up saving Jyn and Cassian. I originally planned to keep with canon, but pleas from my reviewers encouraged me to save them. They will show up a few more times throughout the story.

So, Adams has faced off with Darth Vader, and has now been captured. I think you all can probably guess what'll happen given the timeline. All I'll say is that Adams will not be dying anytime soon.

Next chapter will be up tomorrow. Until then, leave a review, and stay tuned!
