Perry Carpenter had recently decided to come out of retirement. Was wearing a bird costume that didn't fit him like it used to. He haven't worn it in years by Perry had decided it was time for the Pelican to come back out of retirement.

He was originally planning to stay retired but then you saw the super villain the prowler on TV. He figured if that guy could come out of retirement so could he.

When he was looking for a place to Rob he decided a business owned by a Benton would be good. In the little over a century when the family first moved to the city recent buy this city standards they had developed a reputation as being hard-working several small businesses in City were owned by people with the last name Benton.

He had chosen Benton Construction to Rob. Shaking down a small business was a far cry from the daring Heist he committed during the Golden Age crime. But he was a few decades out of practice. So It would be best to start small.

The main office of the business Perry had three hostages Absalon , Gracious's father Humble Servant, and a frightened bystander who was simply a delivery person for the fast food restaurant Patriots Tavern dressed in a uniform made to resemble that of the American Soldier of the American Revolution.

To keep his hostages in line the pelican holds a weapon he made himself that shoots metal feathers. The crime haven't gone as well as expected for the pelican the delivery person had called the cops before he was taken hostage and the innsmouth PD we're waiting outside.

He opened delivery persons bag in unwrapped a food item you saw that it was a sea Burger looks similar to a crab cake in a bun. The Pelican takes a bite of it doesn't like it that very much and makes a face. " Your Sea Burgers not as good as they used to be using squweeb with me now they must be squab because they taste like drock"

The delivery boy suddenly gets brave herring his place of employment be slander.

" I'll have you know patriots tavern uses only genuine squweeb and our sea burgers are the finest in all of Kay county there by the world." helled the delivery boy definitely

Then he stood up and ran angrily toward Perry with his fists in the air. Perry flinched a little as he got closer. Delivery boy ran past him come to the door of the business. "Drock one of my hostages got away and I'll bring the cops now" Perry said to himself in his head.

Three police cars drove up outside the Benton construction business. The police cars were nuclear-powered but were designed to look somewhat like the classic cars of the 1960s car looks like a weird Fusion between modern and old. On the side of the police car have the motto of the innsmouth police department instead of the usual protect and serve which was on the motto for most American police departments. Innsmouth had the words "justice has no face".

The three police officers got out of their cars. His mouth police officers had a unique uniform.

A blue trench coat with golden buttons. A white pith helmet with a pin of the octopus on it and a badge that also had an octopus on it. And most intimidating does a silver mask of an octopus with red eyes. A octopus to honor one of the city's two spirit animals somewhat even say sacred animals.

Mask is also where Police Department's motto came from all officers wore the mask.

The police officer whi seem to be charged with the other two on why they were there. " someone can a bird costume is robbing Benton Construction".

One of the other police officers asked a question

"Is that the same bird guy that tried to steal the Christmas whale skeleton a few years ago I thought he died when he slammed to that wall"

"Well we're not that lucky"

Said the police officer that was in charge. He struggled to remember what the protocol would be he was having trouble remembering. The city hadn't gotten many crimes like this in a while The last couple decades in the city it was mostly petty crimes and occasional crime of passion. The police officer hadn't actually ever dealt with street crime like this before in his career and had to think back to his training to remember anything to do. Then he thought of an idea that he supposed would be the best option.

"Here's what we do I figure we just wait for him to leave he will get hungry eventually then we'll walk him a few times with the nightstick take him too jail"

" that plan sounds Vera with me" said one of the two police officer " how long do you think it'll take "

"I don't know hours a day years does it matter"

Then the police officers leaned on their cars and waited for something to happen.

Venom and Mania long down in front of their father's business. Besides the police officers there was now a crowd of onlookers to see if anything was going on with the hostage situation.

Andy and Nathaniel had no real plan they were just going to burst in there and save their father.

One of the three police officers stood in their way. "Who in the kays holy name are you"

" and I Mania we're superheroes we got this" said Mania and gave the police officer a thumbs up.

He fought this seemed good it has been a while since innsmouth had a superhero they have been without one since Kraken left during the Golden Age of crime.

The Pelican stud guard over his remaining hostages a blur came out and hit him. The force of the blow pushed him against the wall and he fell to the floor he quickly got up to aim his gun that shoots metal feathers at his attacker.

Venom had volunteered to keep this person distracted while Mania grabbed Absalon and Humble both were surprisingly very light.

Mania try to say something to comfort them. " don't worry d" then she remembers she can't call him dad "dude it's going to be okay" as she ran to take them out side where they would be safe.

Venom saw the man in the bird costume point a weird weapon at him.

Venom send the web out of his wrist and rips the gun from his grip then shatters against the wall.

"Drock" thinks the pelican" that was my third favorite metal feather launcher".

Venom runs towards the pelican and hits him in the stomach the Pelican flies through the window he is standing in front of out of the building.

Venom momentarily feels some guilt he didn't mean to hit him that hard it's not like the guy in the red Knight costume it was like a demon or something the guy in the bird costume was just a guy.

In his head Nathaniel hears a voice. "Don't worry about him. He deserved it"

After making sure the hostages were okay, especially their father Venom and Mania met on a roof about two blocks away from Benton construction. They're both very pleased if themselves. Mania said "nailed it" and the two of them high-fived.

The criminal known as the pelican was able to get away. Fortunately for him the fall had only been from the second story and he had landed on some mostly soft garbage on the way down. Looks like I've got some competition The pelican thought to himself. But he wasn't overly concerned he had fought hey superhero, back in his younger years as a criminal and believed he could handle these two as well.
