Hey, guys. Back with another chapter.

So, this will finish up the Death Star rescue. It'll be another long one.

Let's get to it.

Guest DCDGojira: Not sure about including that deleted scene. Not sure if I'll include those comics, but maybe. You'll meet more ASAT members soon enough. I will do a chapter featuring Hall and Ahsoka fighting Vader, but not sure if it'll be based on Vader Down. And I may include that in the scene where Anakin dies.

RandomFanAuthor: Yes, they could've done so much better with the sequel trilogy. I may actually do a brief story based entirely on The Mandalorian. And no, I did not name Adams after one of the Founding Fathers. That is entirely coincidental, and I only recognized the connection myself a month ago.

Jayhawks: Maybe.

Peter Hong Kong: I'll look into it.

Chapter 10- Death of a Legend

Adams sighs as he tips his boot upside down, letting the dirty water drain out before putting it back on.

"Well, if we can avoid another fiasco like that, we'll be fine," Han says.

"We need to get moving. Make sure you're not leaving anything behind and let's get out of here," Adams says.

Right then, there's a strange noise from inside the trash compactor. Chewie howls and runs off. Han looks after him and says, "Chewie!" He then turns and fires his blaster once into the trash compactor, right as Leia says "No, wait! They'll hear!"

Han then turns to Chewie. "Come here you big coward. Chewie, come here!" he says, as Chewie shakes his head.

"Enough!" Adams says loud enough to draw everyone's attention.

"I don't know who you are or where you came from. And while I'm grateful for the rescue, I don't totally appreciate your attitude. So, from now on, you will listen to me and follow my orders," Adams says firmly. He then starts walking away as he says, "Come on."

Han looks angry. "Look, Admiral. Let's get one thing straight. I take orders from just one person. Me!" he says.

"Then it's a wonder you're still alive," Adams says, not even looking back.

As they make their way through the hallways, they round a corner, and come face to face with a stormtrooper. Without slowing down, and hardly even moving his head, Adams whips out his lightsaber, ignites it, beheads the stormtrooper, then deactivates his saber and returns it to his belt while simultaneously grabbing the trooper's blaster out of the air before it can fall to the ground. He then continues walking down the hallway.

Han glances back at Luke, the two exchanging a look over what they just witnessed.

Finally, after several long minutes, they reach a room that overlooks the hangar where the Millenium Falcon is parked. Han looks down through a chute that overlooks the ship and says, "There she is."

"C3PO, do you copy?" Luke asks through his commlink.

"Yes, sir," 3PO replies.

"Are you safe?" Luke asks.

"For the moment. We're in the main hangar across from the ship," 3PO responds.

"We're right above you. Standby," Luke says.

Leia turns to Han, and, gesturing down to the Falcon, says, "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought?"

"Nice. Come on," Han says, and the team keeps moving.

As they move through the halls, trying to find their way down to the ship, they suddenly come around a corner, and run into a number of stormtroopers.

"It's them. Blast them!" one of the troopers says. However, Han gets the first shot, killing the trooper who spoke. The other troopers start to run back down the hall, and Han and Chewie start to run after them, with Han shouting, "Get back to the ship!" Hall, making a quick decision, runs after Han to help.

"Where are you going?" Luke yells.

"They certainly have courage," Leia says.

"What good will it do us if they get themselves killed?" Luke replies.

"Come on. Move it!" Adams says, leading them the other way.

As they're moving the other way, Hall is sprinting after Han as fast as he can. However, right as he's getting to a corner, he suddenly hears blaster fire, and Han running back around the corner. "Move it!" he shouts. Not questioning Han, Hall whips around and starts running back the way he came along with Han and Chewie.

At the same time, Adams, Luke, and Leia are running from stormtroopers that have managed to find them. Luke and Adams both fire at them using their blasters, killing a few.

As they race up a ramp, the three see a drop off right ahead of them and come to a quick stop. "Whoa. I think we took a wrong turn," Luke says.

Right then, the pursuing stormtroopers come around the corner and start firing at them. Leia quickly hits the control button for the door, causing the door to shut. She turns to Luke and Adams and says, "There's no lock."

Luke quickly blasts the panel. "That oughta hold them," he says.

"Uh, Skywalker, I think you also just blasted the controls to extend the bridge," Adams says.

Luke looks dismayed. Right then, blaster bolts fly towards them. They quickly press themselves against the door, then Adams pops back into view and fires back towards an opening overlooking them, immediately killing a trooper. He continues to fire, killing the other two troopers that try and fire down on them.

Right then, the door behind them opens just a tiny bit. Adams quickly ignites his lightsaber and stabs it at random into the door behind him. He hears two death cries, and knows he's killed at least two troopers.

"Skywalker. Grappling cables," he says. Luke nods, and both he and Adams pull out grappling cables, throwing them around some equipment hanging overhead.

Luke grabs hold of Leia, who gives him a quick kiss on the cheek as she says, "For luck." Luke and Adams then leap off the end of the bridge, swinging across to the other side. They then quickly rush towards through the doorway ahead of them and around a corner, out of view of the stormtroopers beginning to poke their heads and blasters under the partially open door.

They continue running through the halls, trying to find their way back to the hangar where the Falcon is being kept. Finally, they round a corner and see Han, Chewie, and Hall pressed up against the wall up ahead. The three run up to their friends, and see the doorway leading into the hangar up ahead.

"What took you so long?" Hall asks.

"We, uh, ran into some old friends," Leia says.

"How's the ship?" Adams asks.

"She seems alright, if we can get to it. I hope the old man got the tractor beam out of commission," Han says.

Only seconds later, they see the stormtroopers that had been guarding the ramp onto the ship suddenly start running away. "Now's our chance! Go!" Han says.

They all start running into the hangar. However, as they enter the hangar, Luke turns his head, and sees Obi Wan engaged in a lightsaber duel with Vader.

"Ben?" he says, walking up to the edge of a pit in the floor. Adams and Hall both turn to look where he is, and their blood chills as they see Obi Wan and Vader crossing sabers. Hall feels a little bit of anger rise in him as he looks at Vader. Almost in sync, the two draw their lightsabers.

Right then, Obi Wan notices them. Then, he looks bkac at Vader before holding up his lightsaber. In response, Vader swings his lightsaber right at Obi Wan's neck. But, as his saber connects with Obi Wan, Obi Wan seems to disappear.

"No!" Luke, Adams, and Hall all shout, and Adams and Hall ignite their lightsabers before starting to run around the edge of the pit.

The stormtroopers that had gone to reinforce Vader turn around and start firing their blasters. Han quickly returns fire, and so does Luke a second later.

Then, Adams and Hall reach them, and start tearing into the stormtroopers with their lightsabers. They quickly kill all the remaining stormtroopers.

Hall and Adams then turn to face Vader, right as Vader turns to face them. The three stare each other down for a moment before a blaster bolt from Luke hits the door controls, and the blast doors between the two Americans and Vader begin to close.

This seems to snap them out of their anger. At least, it does for Adams, who turns to Hall and says, "Come on, Tyler. It's too late. We need to get out of here."

Hall quickly quells his anger, and he and Adams race back towards the ship, racing up the ramp after Luke. Once they get aboard, Han lifts the ship off the ground before turning it around and flying out of the hangar, heading away from the Death Star.

Adams and Hall come to a stop next to the ladder leading up and down to the ship's two defensive laser cannons. They stop there, staring at the floor of the ship for several moments before looking at each other.

The two just look at each other for a long time before Hall says, "I can't believe it, Sam. And not just that he's dead. It looked like he intentionally let himself be killed. Why?"

"I don't know, Tyler. But I do know that we will avenge him," Adams says.

"I knew it. I knew I should've made sure he was dead that day on Mustafar," Hall says.

"Tyler, you can't beat yourself up about this. What's past is past, and we can't change it. We just have to move forward," Adams says.

Hall looks at his former commander and just nods. Right then, Han runs into view and says, "We're not out of this yet, everybody." He then looks right at Adams and Hall and says, "I need you two manning the guns."

Adams and Hall give a quick nod before Adams starts climbing up the ladder. Hall starts climbing down the ladder a second later, while Luke and Leia head up to the cockpit.

Adams and Hall settle into the gun turrets, putting the headsets on and powering up the guns' targeting systems.

"Are you in?" Adams says over the headset.

"Ready to go, Sam," Hall replies.

The two wait as the ship starts to shake. Then, they hear Han say over their headsets, "Hear they come, guys."

Four TIE fighters streak past the ship. The TIEs then turn around, coming in for another pass. Adams and Hall open fire, sending laser bolts whizzing past the TIEs.

"These are fast buggers!" Hall says over his head set as he keeps firing.

The TIEs continue zipping around the ship, firing their laser cannons. Adams and Hall continue to return fire, and its not long before laser bolts from Adams' cannon hit one of the TIEs and blow it to pieces.

Adams gives a triumphant laugh. A second later, Hall gets lucky and blasts another one of the TIEs to pieces. "Got one!" Hall says triumphantly.

"There's still two more! Don't get cocky!" Han says over their headsets.

Adams and Hall keep up their fire. The TIE are able to make one more pass before, almost simultaneously, Adams and Hall destroy the last two.

"That's it. We got 'em all!" Adams says triumphantly.

There are several cheers in the cockpit, and Adams and Hall settle back into their seats, a little overwhelmed by everything that has happened in the last hour or so.

They soon make their way back to the passenger area. Once they get there, Adams says, "Tyler, let me borrow your communicator." Tyler hands it over, and Adams walks away to make the transmission.

Once he's alone, Adams makes the call. Within seconds, a hologram of High General Dempsey appears.

"Admiral Adams. Good to see you again. I'm assuming that you got rescued?" he says.

"Indeed, General. General Hall and some friends rescued me and Princess Leia Organa from the Death Star. Unfortunately, Obi Wan Kenobi was killed during our escape by Darth Vader," he says.

Dempsey's face falls. "That's some bad news," he says.

"I know. And that's not the worst of it. The Death Star is operational, and has destroyed the planet Alderaan, killing Bail Organa. We're retreating to Yavin 4, but I have a feeling that the Empire is tracking us. I feel it's only a matter of time before the Death Star arrives in the Yavin system to destroy the rebel base. We'll need reinforcements," Adams says.

Dempsey is quiet for a moment. Then, he says, "I can have a task force there in five days, but I know that'll be too late. But, I can have a few squadrons of fighters there in a few hours."

"Send the fighters. We'll need their help. And send the task force too. Once this over, I know the rebels are gonna need to start evacuating. They'll need our help," Adams says.

"Very well. I'll send out the orders immediately, and I'll take your report to Security Council. I think a declaration of war is immiment," Dempsey says.

"I agree," Adams says before terminating the transmission. He looks up, knowing that all out war between the Empire and Terran Alliance is near at hand.

Ahsoka smiles as she takes the bread out of the oven. Her children had asked her to make homemade bread today, and she had been happy to do so.

As she sets the bread down on the stove top, she suddenly stumbles back, eyes wide as a terrible feeling sweeps over her.

Dakota, standing just a few feet away, sees this sudden motion, and hurries over, placing his hands on her shoulders. "Hey, babe. Are you okay?" he asks.

Ahsoka looks up at him. "I don't know. I just felt a tremor in the Force. I feel...I don't know exactly, but something's happened," she says. However, it's clear that something is going on, and Dakota pulls her into a comforting hug.

And, I'll end there. Hope you like this chapter.

I know a lot of you are disappointed I still had Obi Wan die, and didn't have Adams or Hall fight Vader, but that would've ruined the plot I have in mind. I still hope you like what I did with it, and how I had Ahsoka sense Obi Wan's death. She will be very sad when she finds out.

Next chapter will be up soon. Until it is up, please leave a review, and stay tuned!
