Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter.

This one will cover up to the launching of the attack on the Death Star. Hope you guys like this one.

Let's get to it.

Peter Hong Kong: The Alliance uses both walkers and normal tanks, depending on the situation and the environment. And thanks for pointing out the spelling error. I'll have it fixed ASAP. I do plan on a short story featuring Din Djarin, and possibly one to cover the events of Season 2, though I'll probably wait until the end of the war to start it.

Guest DCDGojira: At least one of them will probably see Obi-Wan's force ghost, but they won't faint. I actually haven't moved back home with my parents, but yes, we're as of yet safe from the virus.

pervysage: May make mention of the coronavirus in the third story, but not sure. I'm not sure if I'll make a space version of the Blackbird. You'll find out soon enough if I do, though.

Jayhawks: Pretty much on the speech. As for ships, all other planets in the Terran Alliance contribute individuals to man the ship of the Starfleet. So, the Starfleet is not just for Terra itself.

CT7567Rules: The SF-20 is an interceptor, so it's not equipped with a hyperdrive, so it won't be coming to Yavin. You'll see in this chapter which fighters will be going to Yavin. And I don't have plans for a starfighter version of the F-14. I may partially base a fighter off of the F-14, but not totally decided

Kommando Kronk: They will be involved at Hoth. They'll have forces at Endor, but not most of the fleet.

RandomFanAuthor: Yeah, I may do a couple of side stories set between the events of this story and the third, and again between the third and my planned fourth main story. I definitely have more plans to expand upon this universe.

Chapter 11- Preparation

(Mytus System)

General Quarters alarms sound as Terran Alliance pilots race down through the TAS New York City towards the hangar bays. The Star Destroyer had taken up a position in the Mytus system as a quick response force in case they were needed. The Mytus system was completely unoccupied and rarely had Imperial visitors, so it was decided as the place of the New York City to be stationed.

The ship had just received a message from High General Dempsey, informing them of the situation, the existence of the Death Star, and that the Joint Command had authorized them to grant Adams' request for fighter support in the imminent rebel attack on the battlestation.

The New York City, prior to being deployed, had been outfitted with some of the best fighter squadrons of the Terran Alliance. These squadrons were the 12th Fighter squadron (equipped with 18 Su-36 Flankers), the two fighter squadrons that made up the famous 352nd Fighter Wing (both equipped with 20 SF-23A Black Widows), and the famous 69th Fighter Squadron (still equipped with 18 SF-15 Space Eagles).

Over half the fighters would be launching on this mission. Twelve of the 12th's Flankers would be flying, as would 16 of the 69th's SF-15s. Twenty four SF-23s, drawn from both squadrons of the 352nd, would be flying escort.

In the main hangar bay of the Star Destroyer, Commander Paul Moga races to the cockpit of his SF-23 and hops in as the hangar crew and droids prep the fighter for combat. The SF-23 is far different from the two atmospheric fighters he's been trained to fly, the F-15 and the F-22, but it's a joy to fly, and it does its job as a space superiority fighter very well.

One of the hangar crew steps back and gives Moga the thumbs up, signaling that the missiles are in place and the fighter is ready for battle. Moga nods as he lowers the canopy and powers up the engines.

As soon as the engines power up, Moga lifts the SF-23 off the floor of the hangar. He then rotates it as other fighters also begin to lift off. He guides the SF-23 out of the hangar, speeding up as he flies out of the hangar.

Moga circles the ship, waiting as the other fighters of the strike force fly out and form up. All of the aircraft form up in the standard flight of four. Once they're all formed up, they turn as one in the direction they need for their hyperspace jump.

Moga flips the switch for his radio and says, "This is Commander Paul Moga. Strike force is in position and waiting for clearance for hyperspace jump."

"This is Vice Admiral Tyson. You are cleared for hyperspace jump. Good hunting, Commander," she says.

Moga then switches the settings on his radio and says to the rest of the strike force, "All pilots, prepare for hyperspace jump on my mark."

Across the strike force, the pilots input the coordinates for the Yavin system, helped by their astromech droids.

Then, about thirty seconds after his preparatory order, Moga rests his hand on the hyperdrive throttles and says, "All fighters. Make the jump in three, two, one, mark." Moga shoves the hyperspace throttles forward, as do the other pilots in the strike force, and within the space of two seconds, all the fighters in the strike force make the jump to hyperspace.

(Yavin system)

Adams watches out the front viewport as the Millenium Falcon drops out of hyperspace, and the planet Yavin appears before them. Han guides the ship around Yavin and heads straight for the Yavin 4 moon.

As the ship descends low over Yavin 4's landscape, Adams spots the old Massassi temples that house the rebel base. He points to them and says, "There." Han pilots the ship over to the temples and lands the ship on an outdoor landing pad.

As everyone on board disembarks from the ship, they find several Rebel troopers waiting for them. After greeting them, the troopers get them all onto a small cart and take them into the temple.

As they get into the temple, the driver stops the cart, and they all get off.

A rebel officer walks up to Leia and embraces her, saying, "You're safe. When we heard about Alderaan, we feared the worst."

"We have no time for sorrows, Commander. You must use the information in this R2 unit to help plan the attack. It's our only hope," Leia says.

Right then, Major Anthony Rhodes, one of the combat instructors that accompanied Adams to Yavin 4, walks up to Adams and Hall. "Admiral. General. Good to see you both alive and well," he says.

"You as well, Major," Adams says.

"So. What do you want us to do?" Rhodes says.

"Is Mon Mothma still on the moon?" Adams asks.

"Yes," Rhodes says.

"Get her on the Diplomat and take her back to Earth. She needs to be protected. She's the head of the Rebellion now. If she can be protected, we have a chance of rebuilding the rebellion if things go south here," Adams says.

"Understood, Admiral," Rhodes says before he turns and walks off.

Adams and Hall then look at each other. "Well, I guess we get ready," Adams says.

(30 minutes later)

Adams and Hall watch from their position at the front of the room as General Dodonna begins the briefing.

"The battlestation is heavily shielded and carries a firepower greater than half the starfleet. Its defenses are scaled around a direct, large scale assault. A small, one man fighter should be able to penetrate the outer defense," Dodonna says.

"Pardon me for asking, sir, but what good are our snub fighters going to be against that?" one of the pilots asks.

"Well, the Empire doesn't consider a small, one man fighter to be any threat, or they'd have a tighter defense. An analysis of the plans provided by Princess Leia has demonstrated a weakness in the battle station. The approach will not be easy. You're required to maneuver straight down this trench and skim the surface to this point," Dodonna says.

He pauses to let everyone see what his presentation is showing before continuing, "The target area is only two meters wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port right below the main port. The shaft leads directly to the reactor system. A precise hit will start a chain reaction that should destroy the station. Only a precise hit will set up a chain reaction. The shaft is ray shielded so you'll need to use proton torpedoes."

"That's impossible, even for a computer," one of the pilots, Wedge Antilles, says.

"It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than 2 meters," Luke says.

"Then man your ships. And may the Force be with you," Dodonna says. And with that, the pilots begin to stand up and file out of the briefing room, heading out to the hangars where the fighters are waiting.

Adams and Hall look at each other. "Well. S***'s about to get real," Adams says.

And, I'll end there. I know I could keep going, but I didn't want this to be a super long chapter.

So, quick fun fact. The Terran pilot, Paul Moga, is a real pilot. He was a member of the F-22 Demonstration Team for several years and now commands an F-35 squadron. At this point in time, he was a Lieutenant Colonel, but since he's now with the Starfleet, I translated that into its equivalent Navy rank. Also, the vice admiral, Vice Admiral Tyson, is a real retired US vice admiral, and she was the first woman to command a US numbered fleet when she commanded the Third Fleet.

Next chapter will completely cover the Battle of Yavin. I hope you guys are excited for it. It should be up tomorrow. Until it's up, leave a review, and stay tuned!
