Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter. Hope you like this one.
So, this one will take place back on Earth, and feature a character I'm sure you guys have been wanting to see again.
Let's get to it.
Guest DCDGojira: The Imperial attack on Terra won't start until Chapter 46. We'll see Luke start to bond with his love interest soon enough.
the mysterious Mr.E: I've already started a wiki page on the Hammer Squadron. I'll keep updating it, and I'll eventually make a video for it.
Peter Hong Kong: I think Days of Fire is what finally prompted me to start writing this series. And I'll try and get my hands on those comics, but I don't know if I can. But, I think I have a pretty good chapter plan for the story. I don't want to follow canon too closely. I mean, that's the point of fanfiction. You have to have some original stuff.
RandomFanAuthor: Some Terran warships have begun incorporating railguns. However, the problem is that with normal guns, the recoil could negatively affect speed or position in orbit. Railguns don't really have that problem.
Guest: Yes. The destruction of the Death Star was Chapter 12.
CT7567Rules: We'll see the SF-20 soon enough. And we will see the F-14 in action during the Imperial attack on Earth, as in this universe, the F-14 was not retired in 2006. And yes, the Terrans have all weapons they actually had back in 2014.
pervy sage: The Terrans will have something similar to the Truman Doctrine, in relation to the Empire and the Sith.
Guest: In this, pretty much every country is part of the Terran Alliance, including Turkmenistan. As for how I chose it, I have a world map on my wall, and I looked at that to find cities to name Star Destroyers after.
Chapter 21- Old Friends
(March 20, 2014)
Ahsoka smiles as she walks across the campus of Harvard University. At this time of year, she finds Massachusetts a really beautiful and nice place to be. It's not quite spring yet, but it's definitely not winter. And the sky is just beautiful today.
Ahsoka had returned to Terra just a few weeks earlier to return to her duties training Padawans and younglings at the Temple in West Virginia. But, today, she decided to take a trip up to Harvard to see an old friend.
As she walks across the campus, students sitting on benches and lawns of the campus point at her in surprise. She's not surprised at all the pointing and chatter. It's not often that a Jedi Master visits a college campus.
As she walks around a building, she sees a welcome but unexpected sight. Up ahead is one of her old ASAT friends, General Grant Wilson.
"Grant!" she calls out to him.
Wilson turns around at the sound of his first name, and smiles as he sees Ahsoka walking towards him. Wilson doesn't usually look his age of 51 years, but when he smiles, his age shows a little bit more.
"Ahsoka! What are you doing here?" he asks.
"Just here to see an old friend. Hadn't expected to run into you here. What are you doing here?" Ahsoka asks as she gives Wilson a hug.
"Just here on a recruitment assignment from Joint Command. I'm headed back to Fort Hevy," Wilson says.
Ahsoka smiles. When the Terran Clone Legion had been established, a new military base had been constructed in New York to serve as their home base, and it was named Fort Hevy, after the clone who saved Kamino from invasion by his sacrifice at Rishi.
"Well, say hello to all the clones for me," Ahsoka says.
"I will. It's good to see you again, Ahsoka," Wilson says. He then smiles and gives her a salute, which Ahsoka smiles and returns. It's become something of a tradition among member of the first ASAT team to salute the surviving members of the Jedi order they fought alongside in the Clone Wars.
Wilson smiles and walks off. Ahsoka watches him go before she turns around and keeps walking in the direction she was going at first.
She finally reaches the building she's been looking for and walks in. She walks down the hall until she finally finds the lecture hall she's been looking for.
As she opens the door and walks in, she sees it is in fact a massive auditorium, capable of holding hundreds of students. Every single seat is filled and all the students are listening to the lecturer with rapt attention.
"And so, the Dark Jedi retreated to the planet Corbos." Ahsoka smiles as she hears that familiar voice and looks up to the stage where her old friend Barriss is standing, looking out over her students as she speaks.
As she sees Ahsoka, she stops talking and breaks out in a smile. Then, she says, "Everyone, I'd like to pause the lecture for a moment to welcome a special guest. Member of the Jedi Council, and my friend, Ahsoka Tano."
Everyone turns to look at Ahsoka, and all of the students begin applauding. Ahsoka waves to everybody and says loud enough for everyone to hear, "I don't want to disrupt the lecture, so, Professor, please continue." Barriss smiles and continues her lecture while Ahsoka leans against the back wall, waiting for the lecture to be over.
Barriss finishes her lecture, ending with the banishment of the Dark Jedi following the end of the Hundred Year Darkness. Once she gets there, she reminds the students of an assignment due in a week, then dismisses them.
Ahsoka waits until most of the students have filtered out, as all of them want to come over and meet her, then she heads up to the front, where Barriss is packing up a few things.
"Barriss!" Ahsoka says in greeting to her friend.
"Ahsoka!" Barriss says with a smile on her face. She walks over and leans in to give Ahsoka a hug.
As they pull apart, Ahsoka smiles and says, "Nice lecture. You've really become a good teacher."
"Thanks. I really love this job," Barriss says.
Ahsoka smiles, then rests one of her hands on Barriss' growing bump. "How's this little girl doing?" she says with a smile.
Barriss smiles as she rubs her bump herself. "She was pretty active most of the day, but she calmed down for the lecture. I'm pretty glad for that," she says, and both her and Ahsoka share a laugh.
"I still can't believe you're on number five. I have my hands full with two, although I will admit me and Dakota want at least one more," Ahsoka says
Barriss smiles before responding, "Well, I've got a great husband, and I love kids."
She and Ahsoka laugh again before Barriss says, "That was my last class of the day. Why don't we head to my office so I can drop off some stuff, and then we can head over to my home for dinner?"
Ahsoka smiles. "Sounds like a plan," Ahsoka says.
"Alright. I'll tell Ben he doesn't need to come get me," Barriss says.
The two walk to another building where Barriss' office is located so Barriss can drop off her things. Then, they head down to the parking lot where Ahsoka parked and climb in Ahsoka's car.
It's a short drive to Barriss' house, as Barriss lives only 6 minutes from campus. As Ahsoka pulls up, she sees that Barriss' house, which is much larger than her own, has changed since she last visited it.
"You guys made an addition to the house!" Ahsoka comments on the addition on the side of the house.
"Yeah. A playroom for the kids. We also have a new pool in the backyard," Barriss says.
"Wow. Ben's job really pays off," Ahsoka says, and the two laugh.
The two get out of the car and head into the house. As they walk into the living room, they are quickly swamped by Barriss' four kids.
From the couch, her husband Ben laughs. "The kids couldn't wait for mom to come home," he says amidst his chuckling.
Ahsoka smiles brightly. Admittedly, she had felt a little bitter against Barriss after the whole bombing debacle. But, she managed to put that behind her, and when they reunited on Earth after the war ended, they became friends again.
Barriss had moved down to North Carolina after settling in the US, and had gotten a job as a waitress at an Olive Garden. She worked there for three years while waiting for her probation to be up so she could apply for college.
During those three years, she met Ben, who was going to school at UNC at the time. At first, they were just friends, but Ben quickly grew interested in her, and after several years, got her to open up to him. Shortly after Barriss got her bachelor's degree from UNC, she and Ben were married.
Barriss had then continued on to getting her doctorate degree, which took four more years. Two years into that program, she gave birth to her first child, a daughter she and Ben named Emily. Then, shortly after graduating with her doctorate, she had gotten pregnant again, this time with twins. The twins, Ryan and James, were born in spring of 2006.
Right around the time the twins were born, Barriss received a job offer from Harvard to serve as the first professor on the planet to teach courses on the history of the Republic and the Jedi. Barriss had accepted, and had been teaching half a dozen courses, three each semester, on the history of the Republic and the Jedi ever since, and had written several books on the subjects. During her carrer, she'd had her fourth child, a daughter named Bailey, in 2009. Her fifth child, the one she was carrying now, was due at the end of May.
Right then, Ahsoka is tackled by Ryan, who is giggling madly. Ahsoka laughs as she tickles him, causing the little boy to leap off Ahsoka and run away laughing. Ahsoka gets up and chases after him.
Ahsoka plays with the kids for the next several hours before dinner. After dinner, she plays with the kids for a little while longer before Barriss and Ben announce it's bed time.
Once the kids are all put to bed, Ahsoka, Barriss, and Ben all head down to the living room to watch a movie together. As they sit down, Ben asks, "What movie do you guys think we should watch?"
"How about Avengers?" Ahsoka asks.
"Nice choice," Ben says as he goes to get the DVD for it.
Barriss smiles as she rubs her belly a bit. "I still can't believe Master Windu stepped in for Samuel L Jackson in this movie," she says.
Ahsoka smiles. When Samuel L Jackson had fallen sick during the filming of Avengers, the director, Joss Whedon, had asked Mace Windu to step in for him, since the two looked almost identical. Mace had agreed and stepped in for several days of filming. Surprisingly, he had been pretty good at it, and you couldn't even really tell it wasn't Samuel L Jackson during those shots.
"I know. He was a natural," Ahsoka says, and she and Barriss laugh.
Ben puts the DVD in and settles down beside Barriss, and the three settle in to watch one of their favorite movies.
And, I'll end there. Hope you liked this nice little chapter.
So, we finally see Barriss. Like Ahsoka, she's married with children. I decided, since she's no longer a Jedi, to have her be a professor of Republic and Jedi history. I'll be making a wiki page for her to share her full story of what's happened since the end of the first story.
Also, hope you liked seeing Wilson again.
I hope you liked the little bit at the end about Mace Windu. I mean, come on. Since he lives on Terra not, I just had to do something to point out the connection with Samuel L Jackson.
So, quick public notice. If you haven't already seen, I have a Youtube started for this series. It's called "Terran Alliance Series 101". I have the first video of the channel up, and it's on the Battle of New York from the first story. I'm still trying to figure out how to make better videos, so bear with me if they're not the best quality. Also, I don't have as much visuals for them, so I'm still trying to figure it out. So, go subscribe and await more videos. I'll try and have one up each week, though hopefully more than one a week.
Also, I have finalized the chapter plan for this story. If nothing changes, there will be 80 chapters to this story.
Next chapter will be up soon. It'll be another action chapter. Until it's up, please leave a review, and stay tuned!
