Alright, so far I have identified my quirk as an electricity-based quirk. I remember absorbing electricity from wires and that one transformer unit during the… incident." Izuna let out a small shiver at remembering it. So many deaths, so many futures snuffed out. She tried to shake off the memories, concentrating on the task at hand. Experimenting with her quirk. Cleaning the beach.

"Focus, Izuna." She slapped her cheeks lightly and went back to focusing. She has been able to sense something ever since she got her quirk, and only recently did she figure out what it was. Electricity. Anything with electricity running through it she can pick up. If she concentrates, she can find bioelectricity in humans. It was useful. She turned to one of the cars that were on the beach, abandoned and stripped of most things. She could sense that it still had the battery, and the battery still had juice.

She took a deep breath and focused on the electricity in the battery, focusing on her memory of absorbing the electricity during the incident. It wasn't pleasant, but maybe she could do it on purpose. There had to be a reason… Izuna sharply inhaled and stuck her hands out, pulling on the feeling of the electricity. It was weird like there was a blue glow.

Suddenly, the electricity from the car battery shot out towards her, a loud humming filling the air as it was absorbed. Izuna felt energized and better than ever, and she let out a happy smile. She looked down at her sparking hands. She wanted to see exactly what she could do with it now that she had it. She concentrated on it, focusing on condensing it into one space, before releasing it.

BAM! She stumbled back and fell over, her eyes wide with shock. The electricity shot out in a bolt of lightning, striking the car. The electricity arced over the metal of the car in small ringlets, before settling down. She gulped. The engine was on fire. BOOM!

The car exploded, causing Izuna to tumble back violently, glass cutting her back as she slid across the sand before flipping onto her stomach. She looked up, wincing in pain. That didn't go as planned. There was a cut on her cheek from shrapnel. She stood up, glancing at the fire before wincing in both pain and embarrassment.

"Ow…" She looked down at her hands, expecting to see blood and gashes. What she didn't expect was for there to be little to no damage to her skin, and her back didn't sting as much as she thought it would. So, glancing back, she wasn't surprised to see cuts along with her shirt, but what did surprise her was the lack of blood and actual damage. She touched her cheek. Blood, so she wasn't impervious to damage.

She felt slightly drained. Now that she has absorbed some electricity on purpose, she has identified a new feeling. She determined it to be her internal battery, and when she drained the car it filled up. After that bolt, it drained from her internal battery. By a lot actually.

"Time to refuel?" She walked towards a powerline. The city had a constant fuel of electricity, and she felt that draining some wouldn't damage anything. So she put her hand on the small transformer box at the bottom of the powerline pole and started draining it. As she expected, there was plenty, and none of it was being diverted too fast to damage anything. She stopped draining once she felt "full." Looking at her sparking hands, she sighed. Well, she figured out how to shoot bolts out of her hands.

"Hey… are you the girl from TV? The survivor of the incident with all those villains?" A voice said behind her. Turning around, Izuna was surprised to see a girl with earphone jacks as her earlobes. She had short purple hair and was wearing a leather punk jacket. She had a single jack from her earlobes plugged into her phone. She had a guitar case in her right hand. She was pretty.

"Um, what?" Izuna had no idea she was on TV. "I-I guess? I didn't know I was…" The girl seemed to understand and became a bit flustered as she looked to the side.

"Sorry, I thought you knew. What are you doing by this dump anyway? And are your hands sparking? Is that your quirk? Oh, sorry I usually don't ask so many questions… my name is Kyoka Jiro." Izuna looked down at the ground, shyly.

"Y-Yeah, this is my quirk… I only recently got it."

"What do you mean? Did you…?"

"I gained it during the terrorist incident..." Jiro looked shocked. Then she paled.

"You were one of the blank quirk factor people, right? I am so sorry…" Izuna raised an eyebrow in confusion. Why was she apologizing? "I heard that people with blank quirk factors can only get a quirk through a traumatic incident… if you got a quirk from that… I'm sorry for reminding you of it." Izuna blinked. Oh.

"I-it's okay…" They were silent for a moment.

"Um.. so why are you here? It's kinda a dump. I only come here because no one else does. So I can practice…" she lifts the guitar case. Jiro notices the burning car. "What happened there?"

"I.. er.. I came to practice my quirk… figure out what it can do. So far I found that I can sense electricity around me, even the bioelectricity in people. I can absorb electricity from something to charge my internal battery. That-" she points to the car, "Was what happened when I tried to condense and shoot my electricity in a bolt. It worked, but a bit too well. I was just about to test what would happen if I tried to keep it condensed before throwing it." Jiro smiled.

"Well, do you mind if I watch? I think your quirk is pretty cool." Izuna blushed at the compliment before nodding shyly. She isn't used to talking to someone for so long. She turned away from Jiro and focused on the beach, condensing the electricity in her hand as she did before, but instead of releasing it from a condensed point, she kept it condense and threw it. Once it was near where she wanted, she unleashed the condensation all at once. A massive explosion of electricity burst from the small sphere, surprising her. Jiro covered her ears in pain.

"Oh, did I hurt you? I am so sorry, please forgive me!" Izuna started fussing.

"That was… sick!" Jiro turned towards her, grinning slightly, uncovering her ears and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Izuna smiled in relief.

"I am gonna test to see if it's just electricity now, or if I have some degree of electromagnetic control too. It might be loud, but I don't know yet. Hmm… maybe I can pick something up by charging it was a positive charge and surrounding it with a negative charge? Can I even do that..? What if I did it on myself? Could I glide? What if…" she dissolved into small mumblings.

Jiro was kind of freaked out at first, but she found it cute once she saw how focused Izuna was. She seemed nice. A bit shy, but that was okay. Her quirk was strong. Jiro wondered something.

"Hey, do you plan on being a hero?"

"Hmm? Oh, yeah, it's been my dream since I was a little girl. It wasn't until I got my quirk that it was a reality for me, so I am gonna be cleaning this beach to increase my physical strength in preparation for the Yuuei exams coming this spring."

"Oh, you're going to try to get into Yuuei too?" Izuna looked to Jiro and nodded, smiling. Wait, too?

"You want to be a hero too? What's your quirk? I am assuming it has to do with those earphone jacks on your ears. Those look cool by the way." Jiro blushed, she wasn't used to having her appearance compliment, least of all her ears.

"My quirk is called Earphone Jack, my earlobes can stretch up to 6 meters, and the radius of detectable sound is 12 meters. They are sturdy enough to easily pierce hard materials like concrete and able to act as additional limbs due to their prehensile nature, with me being capable of picking up small objects with them. They can also channel my heartbeat into objects. My hearing is also extremely sensitive." Jiro explained. Izuna's eyes sparkled.

"That is so cool! You would be an amazing rescue hero, and if you got a sword or something with high vibration resistance, you could cut through anything by plugging them into it! It'd be like a buzzsaw or something. Then you could also cause the ground to shake! You're so versatile!" Izuna gushed, causing Jiro's cheeks to turn pink in embarrassment.

"Um.. thanks.." she checks the time. "Oh, I have to go. Um.. do you wanna hang out sometime this summer? I might help you clean the beach if that's okay, I need training too." Izuna beamed. She made a friend!

"Of course, you can join me at any time. I would love to hang out with you, you're pretty cool." Jiro smiled before nodding. She waved goodbye before walking off. Izuna turned back to her task at hand. Time to figure out if she can fly and throw cars.
