My take on the Phantom Manor story. Phantom Manor is one of my favorite Disneyland Paris attraction. I find the story very intruguing, so I decided to try and create my own version of what happened with Ravenswood Manor. I hope you enjoy it.
In the west you can find many ghost towns. They were buildt in a long, lost period of time. The goldrush came and went, and towns were abandonned as quick as they were buildt. They can be visited, and they often are, but there's one exception. Thunder Mesa. Only the name itself will make the hair on your arms stand up. Not only that, it gives you the creeps too.
There's a saloon where many voices are still heard. Even music can be heard. There's a trading post, a barber shop, and there's that. That big mansion on the hill. You see it as soon as you enter Thunder Mesa, if you dare. That big house was the beginning and ending of it all. Ravenswood Manor it's been called. Strange things happen there, people have disappeared. A phantom lives there with his friends.
And the lady. Some times a candle can be seen and loud sobs and eerie singing can be heard. And then there's that laugh. That horrible laugh. It goes through the marrow and bone. Strange lights surrounds the house. The combination of ghosts, that laugh and the lights is enough to make grown man run away, screaming their heads off.
Most of them ended up in an asylum. They never spoke of the things they saw, nobody would have believed them anyway. There was always a bewildered look on their faces and when the words Thunder Mesa were heard, they had to be sedated and locked up. Psychiatrists still have no idea how to help them. Daredevils visit Thunder Mesa, but leave as soon as the night falls. That is the time it all starts. The singing, the screaming. So far, nobody stayed there for long. The Phantom is still around and haunts the town.
Ravenswood Manor was a happy house once. In the time where Thunder Mesa was a lively small town. How did this lovely little town turn into something so sinister. Well, that's the story I am about to tell you. The story of Thunder Mesa and Ravenswood Manor.
Henry Ravenswood was the first to struck gold in Big Thunder Mountain. He couldn't believe his luck. He kept on digging and became a rich man. He bought some land and buildt a house. It was a small house, as he was single. He had his eyes on a girl, but he could not marry her. Her father was strongly against a marriage with this poor man. Poor indeed. Henry vowed to do everything in his power to become the richest man of the west.
He hired men to dig for him and more men to buildt a beautiful new house. He started the Big Thunder Mining Company. Other houses were buildt by the men who worked for him. A saloon appeared, then a barber shop and more houses and shops. The small town became crowded with families and men who were looking for work and gold. And Thunder Mesa was created.. But Henry also became greedy. He wanted it all. The house, the girl and the gold. He was well on his way with the house and the gold.
Ofcourse he became a very rich man and in his best clothes he visited Jackson Gable, the father of Marha, the girl he wanted. Matha was a beautiful young girl and the apple of her dad's eye. Jackson's servants had prepared a wonderful dinner and it was decided that Martha would marry the richest man of Thunder Mesa.
