Note: Welcome to another chapter of this rewrite. I hope that all of you are liking it so far, given what I'm doing. Before we move on, I want to say something to a reviewer.
Big Bossk Man 92: He did, but it took him some time to lay it together. We can only hope that he's able to fight whoever called him, as that person might be a vampire. You had a good guess as to who it is, though.
Now that I've said that, it's time for chapter six.
Chapter 6: A Violent Battle
Falco and Katt gasped as they saw a familiar face in the shade. It just so happened to be Leon Powalski, one of the members of Star Wolf. The chameleon stood proud, having a confident smirk on his face. However, something felt different about him, as his eyes had a slight reddish glow to them. In addition to that, by looking closely, Katt could see blood dripping from his mouth. Whatever was going on, she could tell that Leon was about to fight them.
"What are you doing here?" Falco spoke.
"I just thought that I would greet the bird and his girlfriend while they were out." Leon said. "But, now that you're near your ship, I can't let you leave."
"Says who?" The pheasant asked.
"Oh, it's just an order from Wolf!" The chameleon chuckled.
"Is that so?" Katt snorted. "Well, it was stupid for you to come by yourself, Powalski!"
"Not quite." The reptile said. "I've got a few new tricks up my sleeve, and they will be more than enough to kill you."
"Why don't you step out of the shade and fight, you coward?!" Falco shouted.
Without warning, Falco was suspended in the air by an unseen force. Shortly after, the pheasant was thrown aside, landing in a dark alleyway. In alarm, Katt got out her blaster and fired at Leon, but he blocked each shot with his hands. Frustrated, she ran at the chameleon, eager to kick him in the face. However, before the pink cat could do so, there was a brief flash, followed by some red fog. Once it dissipated, Leon was nowhere to be found.
Katt heard a loud crash, followed by a groan. Knowing that Falco was in danger, she ran to help him. Once she got to the alleyway that he was thrown in, the pink cat saw him trying to hit Leon, but failing. Leon was much quicker than how he had been previously, almost to the point of having super speed. The darkness around the chameleon made it easier for him to dodge each attack sent his way. It seemed that it would take a miracle to beat him.
After a few more punches and kicks, Falco got out his blaster, eager to shoot Leon. He aimed and pulled the trigger, hoping that it would work. The only thing the chameleon managed to accomplish was grazing Leon's cheek, which didn't seem to bother him. Rather, the reptile only smiled and let out a sinister chuckle. Knowing that she had to do something, Katt opened fire with her blaster, only managing to hit the Star Wolf member in the arm. This didn't slow him down, as he continued to attack.
Running into the alleyway, Katt fired her blaster again, but missed. However, this allowed her to get a better look at Leon. The chameleon now had fangs in his mouth, and was letting out ferocious growls as he threw punches and kicks. He swiped at Falco, which tore his jacket. After that, the reptile drew back his blood-covered hand and licked it. He giggled, licking his lips with ravenous glee.
"Ugh, what the hell?!" Falco gagged.
"That's disgusting!" Katt hissed.
"What's the matter?" Leon mockingly said. "Never seen someone get a taste of blood before?"
"You're one of them!" Falco said. "You're a bloodsucker!"
"Yes, I am!" The chameleon said. "And when this battle is over, I'm draining the both of you dry!"
Falco's grip tightened on his blaster, with him aiming at Leon again. He fired two shots, with one of the rounds hitting the chameleon in his shoulder. The reptile let out an angry scream, having been hurt by the shot. Katt followed it up by shooting at his legs, only managing to hit one. The pink cat walked over to her enemy, ready to shoot him in the head. However, Falco walked towards them, his eyes focused on the feline.
"Go for the heart." He said. "That's how you kill a vampire."
Before Katt could do so, she felt something wrap around her throat. This caused the pink cat to fall to her knees, grasping for air. Falco ran to her aid, only to be thrown to the side. Leon came up to the feline, having a devious smirk on his face. He looked down at her, bringing out a knife. Katt struggled to get free, but to no avail.
"Why must you associate yourself with Star Fox?" Leon asked. "Is it for self-preservation, or do you not value your life?"
"I work with Star Fox to protect the innocent, even when I have a job to do!" Katt gasped.
"Shame, really." The chameleon said. "If you joined us, you would do more than you have before."
"I would never join your team!" The pink cat hissed.
"Come now, I'm not giving you a choice here." The reptile said. "If you surrendered now, I would take you to Wolf, and he would turn you into a great soldier. If that were to happen, then I suppose that Lombardi would have to die."
Hearing those venomous words, Katt knew that she was looking a lion in the face. She had to do something to get away from Leon, but there was nothing that she could do. If the pink cat didn't do anything, then Star Wolf's assassin would kill Falco, and either kill her or take her to Wolf. It seemed like she would have to surrender, but Falco would still be killed. However, just as the feline was about to surrender, she felt something shine on her eye. By looking to her right, she saw a car mirror that was reflecting sunlight, looking like it was enough to blind someone on contact.
"What do you say?" Leon asked, eager to get his job done.
"I say hot enough for ya?!" Katt shouted, firing her blaster at the car mirror.
Once the car mirror was hit, it caused the light that it was reflecting to shine through the alleyway. This hit Leon, causing him to ignite. The now vampiric chameleon screamed as he attempted to get away from the sunlight, but Falco and Katt chased after him. Falco fired his blaster, attempting to hit the reptile in the heart. While each shot missed, it did damage to the assassin. Katt even shot him in the legs for good measure.
As soon as his enemies were upon him, Leon knew that he needed to teleport back to Sargasso. Focusing some of his vampiric magic, the chameleon felt it surge through his body. He threw the magic at the ground, which blinded both Falco and Katt. Once the magic dissipated, Leon was nowhere to be found. Enraged, Falco kicked the wall next to him. Katt went over to the pheasant, trying to calm him down, but it didn't work.
"Dammit, he got away!" Falco shouted.
"At least we managed to wound him with the sunlight." Katt said.
"Yeah, well, if you know vampires like I do, you know that they heal all wounds that they have suffered!" The pheasant said. "Let's not forget that Krystal is one, too!"
"Right." The pink cat said. "Oh my, Star Wolf might go after her next!"
"Then we're going back to the Great Fox!" The avian said. "Assuming that they aren't there first, I'll send Fox and the others a message through the communicator!"
Now knowing that they had bigger fish to fry, Katt followed Falco to his Arwing. After that, they took flight setting a course for the Great Fox. As they flew off of Corneria, Falco decided to get in contact with Fox, despite wanting to do so when he got back to HQ. Looking for the orange tod's number, the pheasant pressed it and waited for a response. Upon getting none, he decided to just leave a message.
"Fox, if you can hear me loud and clear, Katt and I are back at the Great Fox!" Falco spoke into his communicator. "We need you to get Peppy and anyone else you can find, because I think we have a new threat on the horizon! Make sure you gather enough allies, we need all the help we can get!"
Meanwhile, back at the Sargasso Space Station, Wolf was in a dark room with another member of his team, Panther Caroso. The two were laying in cybernetic coffins, getting some rest before night fell on Corneria. When that happened, Star Wolf would be on the planet, feeding on anyone unfortunate enough to encounter them. After feeding, they would retreat, having gotten their bellies full of their victims' blood. However, the space pirates would also have to bring a corpse or two back. The corpses would be experimented on or reanimated, as Wolf wanted to see if they could be turned into zombified servants.
As Wolf and Panther lie in their cyber coffins, they heard an ethereal noise, followed by a flash. Opening up their coffins, the two mercenaries saw that Leon had just gotten back. However, the chameleon was heavily wounded, with some steam coming off of him. There were various shots in his body, showing that he encountered someone with a fire arm. As for the steam, it was clear that the reptile had been exposed to sunlight. Wolf only growled, having an idea as to what happened.
"How did your mission go, Leon?" Panther asked.
"If it wasn't obvious, I was beaten by Lombardi and Monroe!" Leon hissed. "Oh, if I see those two again, I'm going to make them regret having crossed the Great Leon! I can already imagine the torture I'll put them through before I feast on them! Maybe I'll -"
"Leon, shut up!" Wolf interrupted. "Today wasn't a good opportunity for you, so you should rest in your coffin for a while. But, first, use some of those blood bags to heal yourself."
Leon complied, teleporting out of the room and heading to where the extra blood was stored at Sargasso. The room happened to be near the mess hall, as it was where the food was kept. Knowing that it would take some time before the chameleon finished, Wolf and Panther spoke to each other.
"Well, the bird and the carnation put the kibosh on Leon when they saw him." Panther said.
"Let's not forget that Lombardi has gotten suspicious of my new servant." Wolf stated.
"This could be bad." The black jungle cat said. "If the blue rose gets outed, then Star Fox will no doubt search for us and kill us next!"
"And we're not going to let them." The one-eyed lupine said.
"What are you getting at?" The feline asked.
"I don't have a plan yet, but I feel that Fox doesn't suspect a thing." He said. "This will make his death a thousand times better!"
"And with him out of the way, our rivals won't bother us again. Then we can convince Krystal to join us! I like the way you think, Wolf."
Wolf only let out a sly chuckle, knowing that Star Fox would not be able to stop him and his team now. As Leon returned, he and Panther lie down in their cyber coffins, intent on continuing their slumber. Their teammate joined them, wiping the blood from his mouth. Now that they were in their coffins, Wolf decided to send a telepathic message to Krystal. It was a minor gift that he had gained from his vampirism, but he loved to use it. After all, what was better than having a gift to outwit your enemies with.
Krystal! Wolf sent his telepathic message. If you can hear this message, Princess, I have something else for you to do! I won't tell you what it is immediately, but you'll have to do it! When I give the order, you must obey! Can you do that, honey?
Note: Good news: Falco and Katt prevented Leon from feeding on them or turning them. Bad news: Leon escaped and went back to Sargasso. On top of that, Wolf has decided to give Krystal a new order. What is it? Will Krystal obey? How will the team react? Until next time, guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
If you're reading this, EquinoxWolf, I'm sorry for my behavior in the past. If you don't want to forgive me, that's fine.
