Sorry, I'm really sorry this is so late! Stuff happened and well this is the soonest I could get it out! But new year, new me, new summery so I hope to have stuff out faster and I'm thinking about writing a real novel so happy belated New Year and enjoy the chapter!

Ash laughed as he carried the bags from the supermarket back towards the gym, after they Jenny had let them go they had stopped at a nearby market and he had gotten enough for him to make a few of his specials and have enough leftovers for them to eat on the go once they left the city even if he gave some to Max and May.

"Oh this is gonna be great!" Max said to Bonnie as he followed after her. "Ash learned to cook from his mom and she runs Pallet House, one of the best restaurants in Kanto!"

"Pallet house is that good hu?" Bonnie asked as she looked back at Max who nodded and fought down a blush, something about him was….nice. Farther back May and Serena were talking as they walked after the kids.

"So you're studying archeology?" Serena asked as she looked at May. So she traveled with Ash in the past, I guess that I can see that. And Ash has had adventures like what happened with the Buzz Lords before and then there's the way he talked about Gangs and Teams, he probably hasn't had a normal Journey. She thought as May smiled back at her.

"Yeah, an….. adventure Ash and our friends shared really woke me up to that kind of thing, gave me a better appreciation for it. I was trying to decide what to do until the next season when I met the doc." May said as she looked Serena over. So this is that old friend of his he talked about once, I wonder if she'll join that club? May thought as she looked at Serena as behind them Felicity talked with Clemont and Lilith.

"So you're the Clemont my cousin told me about, did ya really make a robot that was able to train Pokémon on its own?" Felicity asked as Clemont nodded, a bit embarrassed.

"And messed up the password settings enough that my own creation threw me out of my gym." Clemont said as Lilith looked at her cousin as she laughed a little. So this was why she always hated those macho idiots, because her other part was an intellectual! And our probable 'Prince' is as brave as the Boss! She thought as she looked at Ash as he looked over the ingredients he got

"You know what they say, genius and crazy are only separated by a thin line! And what you think is a mistake might led you to where you need to go." Felicity said as she looked ahead

"There you are!" A voice caused May and Max to look up and see a woman in a bage t-shirt and pants with blue hair in a pageboy cut. "When you messaged me about the trouble Max got into I couldn't believe it,

"I don't believe it…..Eve, is that you?" Ash said with shock as he stared at the archeologist who looked back at him in shock. Ash just laughed and smirked as Pikachu dashed to her and rubbed against her causing her to laugh and shake her head.

"Ash Ketchum as I live and breathe, shouldn't you be dashing off to beat a gym or something?" She asked as Pikachu moved back to Ash who laughed as May and Max looked at their interaction.

"You know him doc?" Max asked as the others stared in shock at Ash who just shrugged.

"Ehhh. She was looking for a lost city, I was training for the Kanto Conference nearby and a misfired attack revealed the way to the city. Long story short somebody activated an old security system and we had to fight our way out." Ash said with a laugh. "After the Conference was done I took a few quests from her to act as security to help her find what she was looking for and last I heard the League had sealed the site, so what are you doing here, May helping you find the truth behind what you found before we were chased out?"

"No, that led me to Sinnoh for about a half a year and then the Orange Islands the rest and then I was stuck in Johto for a year then I met my student May here…..wait you traveled with Ash May? He's that trainer from your first journey?" Eve asked as she laughed. What are the odds that the person who saved me from those ruffians would have traveled with Ash? She thought as she shook her head before she perked up as she saw the bags Ash had. "Oh my, are you cooking the meal, I still remember that soup you made back then!"

"Well that's part of the menu, say where's that kitchen, time to show you guys how we cook in Pallet Town!" Ash said as Clemont opened the door and led the way into the gym.

"You say a robot you made took over the gym and threw you out, that's why the challengers lately had so many complaints about the Gym?!" Meyers asked as Clemont nodded he threw back his head and laughed a little. "So that was why you were so hard on the trainers, I shoulda known something was wrong! Sorry I never came to the gym to check on it!"

"Didn't help that I was so late and he never programed me in." Tara said as she smirked at him and he blushed in embarrassment. "On a separate subject that this was an amazing meal!"

"Thanks but mom is even better!" Ash said as he put some of the dirty dishes on a serving cart with a laugh. He looked around the cafeteria and smiled at what he saw. Bonnie and Max were talking with Felicity, Bonnie with stars in her eyes as Felicity talked about a bit of trouble she and Lilith had on a quest a few months back causing Max to snicker. May and Serena were talking about having family who were married to their careers, Grave with her racing and Norman with his Gym. Eve had been talking with him quietly about her work and a few discovers she had made in the Orange Island, a few mentions of fruit that changed the eaters colors she had dismissed as myth had prompted him to tell her about and island he had landed on while he had traveled there had caused her to stare and whip out a book and map, and started muttering and writing down equations, trying to figure out a revelation she had just figured out.

"So the contest is there?" Clemont asked Lilith in disbelief as he shook his head. "After the chaos and the fact that the whole district was taken out, I thought that they wouldn't ever do anything there."

"It was the best answer to the riddle, that's where the shadowed battle took place." Lilith said as she shook her head. "So there were two Chimera attacks and people still don't believe in the Defense Treaty?"

"Your right, that does seem stupid but well. About the first attack I only heard about it second hand, but when the accepted answer to the investigation was that a Chimera had slipped into the city from the airport, stowing away on a cargo plane of all things." Clemont said causing the others to look at him with expressions that they didn't believe him. "Yeah, looking back I don't believe it either, but that was the 'official word' about what happened."

"What I can't believe is that Darris has anything to do with those punks who attacked Bonnie, or they're back in the city!" Meyers said with a scowl as he picked up a plate and moved towards the kitchen his eyes dark he moved to keep Bonnie form noticing his mood. I always hatted that brat Darris, but this? I think I might have to investigate that dojo a bit closer than I did before, maybe a few flyers in the plaza it's at, see if I talk to the owner as 'Mask'. He thought as he entered the kitchen. Clemont got up and Lilith reached over and squeezed his shoulder prompting him to smile at her before he walked after his father. Felicity looked at this byplay and forced down a snicker as she talked with the kids

"Dad, can we talk?" Clemont asked causing Meyers to turn and see his son standing in the kitchen as the doors closed behind him.

"Of course we can son, about whatever's on your mind." Meyers said as Clemont sighed.

"I've always planned on passing over the position of Gym Leader to Tara eventually and we've talked about it. When she came back I would be able to go out and travel and I want to leave and travel with Ash, taking Bonnie with me." Clemont said as Meyers looked at his son. "She's been doing great with homeschool and the others have been helping her come out of her shell and well….."

Meyers turned and put the dishes away and started to talk. "I was proud of you when you became the Gym Leader, not because you won but because you did so to keep Darris from winning. You saw that he would hurt the city and you fought for this place. And you put what your wanted on hold to do so, after all that I don't have the right to hold you back."

Clemont looked at his father as tears came to his eyes. "Oh dad."

"Just promise your old man something." Meyers said as he turned and smiled at Clemont. "Call me once and a while okay."

Lilith smiled as she heard the sounds of Clemont having a moment with his father and looked at Serena and May talking about their own journeys.

"Before I found the Doc and started my internship, I was just like you. I didn't know what I wanted to be when I started my own journey and their right, you can find yourself on the road." May said as she smiled wishfully. I wouldn't be the person I am today if I had gone on my journey early like the others in my town did, but then I wouldn't have met Ash and the others. And she's just starting out, that's the best time of a trainer's life. She thought as looked at Serena with a smile.

"Really, I just let myself live for a few years, I guess I needed a push to get out the door and mom and I were just, happy to live as we had been." Serena said as she looked at the time.

"People are pack animals, if you get into a habit that's good you need a push to change, there's nothing wrong with that." May said with a smile. "Sometimes you need to look around and get inspired or awaken a desire to change, other times you just need a single event that could change it for you."

"You sound like you've seen something like that before, when you were traveling with Ash?" Serena asked as she let her eyes roam over May's body and felt a little intimidated. There's something about her that seems so…mature.

"Yeah, me. I won't tell you what I decided to become or how I went about it, but I found who and what I wanted to be." That's the point of a journey really; you see the world and discover who and what you are."

Serena was about to say something when she saw Bonnie yawn and smile as she gestured towards the two kids and May smirked when she saw that Max was falling asleep. She nodded and reached over and squeezed Eve's shoulder and she nodded.

"Well, thanks for the meal, but we have to get back to the Center, I have the only key to our suite and I need to contact a colleague in another time zone." Eve said as she looked at May and Ash, effectively ending the party.

Cleo looked around as the students finished getting ready to depart and she looked at the tribe as they brought supplies that they had gifted them for their journey. 'It's hard to survive out here; help must be given when you can'. These people are alright, I just hope this is a good step on the on the road for peace between our two societies. Cleo thought as she looked around and smiled at the people as they came together to help stranges.

"You're thinking too hard about this." Assem's voice caused her to look at him. He was looking around with a dismayed look on his face, a hint of sorrow in his eyes. "They're trying to give as good an impression so they won't have the pacification squad sent out to deal with the oasis try and take them out. And no matter what happens eventually someone who will want to attack these people will find out where they are and that's that."

"You think so?" Cleo asked as she looked around, fearing that the ways of these people might be lost to the sands of time forever if certin people had their way.

"A first strike gives you the advantage of planning how to take your foe down, and that's quite a force multiplier. And giving that the defenders have a limited area to defend, sometimes it's better to defend and surprise could kill." Assim said as he watched them move about the cavern and frowned when he noticed a lip at the entrance. What is that, a way to drop down doors, I suppose it's good for sand but the work it would take to get the stone back together. He shook his hands. "Anyway my lady, once they get back to a town they'll drop the message off at the first Protector station and my boys will start setting up surveillance, contentment and send the information to the capital, I can only imagine what the Boss will order done, especially with what you told me."

"But that story at their gathering, that points to knowledge about the ancient ones who lived here." She said as she looked towards the desert as she let her thoughts wonder. That's right, they actually found them, but this is important! A Devourer is on the loose, and he is from the civilization that was here before the Colonization, the insights of that alone and the fact that Desert Tribes know a lot more than they've ever told anyone.

"The decision to keep our knowledge secret wasn't an easy one my lady." An old voice said causing her and Assim to turn and look at Mathayus and his Grandmother Nalia coming towards them. "The decision was made by all of our tribes, those who could see the future saw the possibility for great evil if the knowledge was shared before the time was right."

Cleo sighed and nodded, willing to let the point die but she looked at Nalia as the old woman smiled back at her, certain that the woman knew that she was only going to let the point die for now.

"The students will be leaving within the next hour, are you two joining them?" Nalia asked as Cleo laughed and looked at the old woman.

"No great lady, our mission takes us to Sola's Rest." Cleo said as Mathayus went still as Nalia looked at Cleo.

"The 'Rest? Why did that city out of all in the desert bring itself to your attention?" Nalia tried to ask with a nonchalant air but Assim could detect a hint of worry in her voice. Now what connection could they have with that city, and does the lady detect it? He thought as Cleo looked at the old woman for a few moments before deciding what to say.

"There was an attack on the outskirts a few days ago, trainers and their Pokémon were found unconscious at night, the survivor hasn't said anything, and the doctors think the victims…. they were all drained of their Aura." Cleo said as Nalia stared at her before turning away.

"Stay here please, I need to check on something, please stay." Nalia said as she moved off with Mathayus following behind her. Cleo looked at Assim who shrugged, wondering what the problem was.

As she moved away Nalia had a frown on her face. My grandbabies are in danger, I don't like the fact that he awoke after that happened. There is no such thing as coincidence, and my little angel, if that bastard finds her! She thought as she moved towards a specially prepared chamber and Mathayus kept silent until they were out of the cavern.

"It's the Rest grandmother, that means he will be involved once they lift the lockdown." Mathayus said as Nalia kept walking.

"I know boyo, I know." Nalia said, struggling to keep calm.

"You know what I'll do, don't you?" Mathayus said as Nalia finally lost the battle and scowled over her shoulder at him before walking off faster.

"Why oh why do my grandchildren have to be so principled?" She muttered as she turned a corner and saw two members of the tribe standing guard before a chamber door.

"MILADY!" The called as they saluted her and stepped aside as Nalia walked between them and through the doorway, stopping at the edge of the room and looking over her shoulder at Mathayus who looked back at her and leaned against one of the walls and looked at her.

"Stay there, I won't be too long." Nalia said causing Mathayus to glare back at her.

"Take as long as you need grandmother, don't rush, I mean it old lady, don't push it and hurt yourself, we still need you." Mathayus said as Nalia looked back at him and the doors closed. Of course she's going to do something to hurt herself, I wouldn't expect anything else. What about the oasis, it was a good place to get water but with the ruin active maybe we should move, yeah that's a good idea. I'll get a Wayfinder set to the Heartstone and go with them, I can stop in and them and stay around the area if something happens. He thought as he nodded before gesturing towards one of the guards. "One of you go get Dastan, the three of us need to talk, and grab a Wayfinder."

Within the room Nalia released her Baltoy, put her walking stick against the wall and moved around what was a small chamber, lighting candles as water flowered around the pillars they were on as the water formed an array that she reached the center and knelt down and started to chant as her Baltoy moved above her and started to spin. "Oh Water that gives life, Fire that warms the world, Air that carries and the earth that nurtures life, help me pierce the veil of time and see what may be."

As she focused her Aura into the seal the chamber lite up as Aura Runes flashed to life and suddenly she was blinded!

She blinked as her sight returned and she saw was before a bed with a bloody paw print on it, a blue snake came to the bed and the paw prints floated off the bed, carrying a small brown crown in chains. The blue snake moved off with the paw prints following after it with the brown crown being dragged by the chains towards what looked like a prison behind an altar. Suddenly a brown sword, a pair of black boots, two black short swords and a windstorm appeared before the procession and the blue snake defeated them. The crown was put on the altar and the blue snake caused it to bleed on the alter as the prison opened, revealing a blue crown. Suddenly a brown scepter crown and a shield appeared behind the group with those who had tried to stop the procession and another flash appeared blinding her.

"NOOO!" Nalia screamed and she was back in the chamber, panting heavily. I was right, something is going to happen to them! That is what could be, what will be doesn't have to be that! She thought as she panted, feeling drained and weak as she tried to get her senses back under control.

"Balt Baltoy." Her Baltoy chimed as it floated down and nudged her back to her feet.

"I'm alright partner, I just used a bit more of my power then I should have, that grandson of mine was right." She said with a smile and rubbed its head as she stood up, Baltoy using its abilities to bring her walking stick to her. As she leaned on it she felt her strength return to her and walked towards the door, leaning on her stick until she reached the door. Opening it she saw Mathayus talking with a dark skinned man in a white robe with a visor on his forehead keeping his white hair that reached his shoulders out of his eyes. "Ahh Daltan, there you are. I can guess why you're here."

Daltan bowed to her and nodded. "Yes milady the young master and I were just talking about where we would go next, and well I have a few ideas but we should put a mountain or two between ourselves and that place."

"A good choice, Mathayus you have to go, I saw what will be now, she will be taken by the apprentice and used to open a prison." Nalia said causing Mathayus to stiffen as Daltan's mouth dropped open. " I saw others but stay with her, use everything you have but try and keep her safe."

Mathayus looked at her as he went over what she had said and cursed. "No choice then, I'll join them. Daltan once Home is back above send a Rider to the Ruin Guard tribe, they'll know about any prisons near the Rest."

Daltan nodded and looked back towards the cavern where the outsiders were and nodded. "Smart idea, yeah that's what we'll do. One of the places I thought to set up camp, it's near where they are at this time of year, yes that what's best. Say hi to the family for me boss."

"I will, you listen to the old lady and warn the others." Mathayus said and hugged Nalia before turning and walking off, stopping for a few moments and looking back at them. "The Gathering is soon; if I'm not back in time you'll have to hold court grandmother."

"I plan to light the fire as soon as we reach the next campsite and hold court and let everyone know about what happened, they all need to know one of the ancient ones is free and looking for others." Nalia said before she held up a hand and looked at him. "I know what you're going to say but we have to do this, you know it to that why we have the gathering."

"Your right, in that case move off as soon as everyone departs, don't wait long after they leave the field." Mathayus said with a nod before he walked away towards Cleo, Assim and the others, fighting down the reaction to tell her not to tell the other tribes, that that this was their problem alone and they would handle it but she was right, something like this, the other tribes had to be told.

Cleo watched as the last of the students got into the vehicles and the last of the supplies they would need to reach the next town were stowed away. She stood there and watched as they started up their machines and drove away, a few of the tribesmen waving as they departed. The last vehicle pulled up to her and Assim and the windows rolled down and revealed Cassim drive and Madeha sticking her head out the window.

"Sure we can't convince you to come with us; the desert is a lot safe to travel with friends after all." Madeha asked as she looked at Cleo in concern. Cleo laughed and gestured to her Pokéballs and smiled back at her.

"We'll be fine, we're flying after all. You just get out of here and carry that message to the Protectors and keep who I am quiet, okay?" Cleo asked as Madeha nodded as Cassim shot a look at the tribesmen around the chamber before looking at Cleo and nodding and he drove off.

As she watched the convoy leave she sighed and looked around, finally seeing Mathayus as he walked towards them. "There you are, I was wondering if we'd have to leave without seeing you again!"

"You'll see a lot more of me, I'm coming with you. And we'd best be off, that is if we want to make it to the 'Rest before nightfall tomorrow." Mathayus said as Assim suddenly stepped infront of him and looked down at him.

"Why?" Assim growled and Mathayus looked up at him for a few moments.

"I have relatives in Sola's Rest, I want to make sure their okay." Mathayus said as he looked at Assim. After a few minutes he turned away and looked at Cleo who nodded back at him, causing him to turn to look at Mathayus with a scowl.

"Fine, but you're not flying with the lady." Assim relented and

"I don't need help with that." Mathayus said as he threw a Pokéball, from it appeared a large, avian Pokémon with dark red feathers on its back and dark blue feathers on its underside. Its tail feathers are red, turning to yellow, and then blue at the tips, its legs were long and thick with yellow feet that each had a digit facing backward, and three facing forward. Each digit is tipped by a short, thick, black claw. It had a long, thick beak with a blue cere. On either side of the cere are Braviary's eyes, which are black with small white pupils. Sprouting from above the eyes are three large, white feathers. At the base of the feathers is a red, three-pointed design that is spread across all three feathers. On each side of Braviary's face, sprouting out from behind the feathers on its forehead, are an additional three white feathers pointing horizontally and downward. Behind the three feathers on its head is a large plume of white feathers, extending most of the way down its neck, it wore a piece of neck armor with a golden sphere set into the center and a saddle on its back. "My Braviary can carry me."

Assim just huffed as Cleo laughed and both released their Ride Flygon. As soon as the three were on them their Pokemon cried out and took off, flying out of the cavern. As they flew over the convoy Braviary stopped flying and hovered looking at the mountain. Cleo urged her mount to join and was about to say something when the moon light caused her to notice that the cavern had been covered by a metal door and the mountain started to shake.

"What is this?!" Cleo demanded as she watched, not believing what she was seeing.

Madeha sighed and Cassim looked at her in the rearview mirror.

"You know once we report what happened that idiot Maxwell will let his family know about it and then, well I don't have to tell you what will happen." Cassim said as Madeha just sighed. She looked at the car mirror on her side and sat up straight.

"What in the name of the ancestors is happening to the mountain!?" Madeha demanded causing Cassim to look and slam on the breaks and reach for the van's radio.

"Cassim to all, stop and look back, now! Somebody record this!" Cassim said before he and Madeha got out and looked at the mountain.

The mountain was shaking and sinking into the desert sand and as Cleo watched she could hardly believe her eyes, her attention on the mountain until it disappeared and all that remained was an empty desert.

"What the hell was that!?" Assim demanded as he stared at the desert sand, his mouth open in shock.

"You heard the story of the Hero didn't you? Why do you think that one knew how to make a giant golem or that it would work?" Mathayus asked as Cleo stared down at the desert sands.

"Was that the one from the story? Wait, are there others?!" Cleo demanded as she looked down at the desert. This is why it's been so hard to track down the desert tribes, their homes move! She thought as she looked at Mathayus, trying to find any sign about what she had just seen.

"No for the story, but yes. And the best thing about this type it that while it takes a lot longer to make but boy does it last! We never lost the right way to make golems, and we know how to make them more….controllable." Mathayus laughed at the looks on their faces and Braviary turned. "But let's fly!, I'll tell you more once we reach the halfway point!"

Nicholas breathed heavily as he looked around, his weapon slick with the green 'blood' of the Treemen as his Teddiursa licked its claws before looking at the corpse with confusion. Dante came towards him with his Ninjask hovering overhead as Nicholas looked around, a frown as he took in what he could see from the light of the moon as it shined down.

"Well that was something kid." Dante said as he sighed as he nudged a Treeslasher with his foot. These things weren't as bad as they were the first time since we know how to kill them now. Once we knew how to fight 'em their threat wasn't that much, starting to think that maybe we're putting too much of an effort to kill them. He thought as he looked at Nicholas.

Nicholas nodded but he looked around, something about this was wrong. What am I not seeing here, what is it? He thought as he looked around with a frown. He saw a Templar slice the corpse of a Treelasher in two and for a second he saw a Templar standing across from him in a rainstorm for a few seconds causing him to jerk backwards and shake his head. Looking around he saw Dante look at him in worry.

"You okay kid, something like this is something nobody should see but get it together." Dante said as he looked at the teen, cursing the politics that had given him command. Should have been me or the boss with him as 2nd. But of course we needed our best back home in case we're wrong. He thought as Nicholas looked back at him and smiled.

"I'm fine Dante, me eyes were just playing tricks on me. Anyhow something's wrong with this, I don't know what with this, but I can't understand what!" Nicholas spat as he gestured towards the dead Treemen and Dante looked about as well and turned back to Nicholas.

"Something's wrong…. Wait what are you talking about?" Dante asked with confusion as he tried to figure out what Nicholas was talking about.

"I don't know, but something is wrong! Every instinct I have is screaming that at me." Nicholas said as he looked about, a scowl on his face. What is it, I mean these thing are just copies of the army that attacked! Where are those range things, where are they?! Nicholas thought as he realized he hadn't seen or fought against any Treeblasters.

"Whatever's bothering you kid its probably just post battle jitters. You led from the front and kicked ass boyo, whatever's bothering you…." Dante began before Nicholas interrupted him.

"The range ones, the thing that stood off and used range attacks, where are they did you fight any of them during the battle?" Nicholas demanded causing Dante to look at him and then looked at the corpses on the ground, finally understanding what he was saying.

"No, I never fought or saw any of those things…. Are there any more of them or did they need to get materials to make them?" Dante mused as he looked around, finally seeing what Nicholas had. "Good instincts kid, I didn't even notice the composition."

"I couldn't even recognize what was wrong until I started thinking about the force that attacked us earlier, I mean when you think about it slowly you'd find out what was wrong." Nicholas said as he poked at a Treeman corpse at his feet. "Think these things are smart enough to learn tactics big guy?"

"I hope not, if they are then there's the fact that whatever or whoever decided to throw away that force, could they have something worse waiting for us?" Dante muttered as he looked around and tried to find all the warriors the group had and noticed one of the Templar was walking towards them and elbowed Nicholas and pointing towards the figure approaching them and saluted them.

"Report." Nicholas said after a few moments as he realized the Templar was waiting for an order.

"No causalities on our side, but we've been spread out over three miles. My brothers are gathering everyone around a cabin we found to the west of here." The Templar reported and Nicholas went still as he heard this and shared a look with Dante, both of them growing worried as the subject of their conversation came back to them.

"Did your brothers encounter any of the creatures that could attack at range, any at all?" Nicholas demanded as the Templar went still and cocked its head before shaking its head.

"No, none of my brothers encountered any of those…..that's worrying isn't it? Your orders?" The Templar inquired and Nicholas actually had to stop and think. I can't see any advantage these things would have if we gathered together, after all they'd have to… He went still as his thoughts died and looked at the Templar, a feeling of dread coming over him.

"Make sure that the area around the cabin is investigated thoroughly. I want people to check around the cabin for any of those things in hiding! And lead us there now, as fast as you can." Nicholas demanded as the Templar nodded and moved off at a run. Nicholas running after it with his Teddiursa following behind him, Dante standing still before he followed after him, a worried feeling growing in his gut as his Pokémon followed overhead.

"Kid wait a second, what's wrong?" Dante called out as Nicholas kept running, not stopping to let him catch up.

"Our talk about tactics and the tactical decision to lure an enemy into an ambush!" Nicholas bellowed back, causing Dante to stop and crashed to the ground. As Dante got back to his feet he started to run, the feeling he had before magnifying as he ran, seeing what Nicholas had and agreeing with him one-hundred percent.

As Victor leaned against a tree with Houndour sitting next to him he looked at the others warriors as they gathered around the cabin they had found and scoffed. Pampered brats, out here in the real world is where those who really matter don't need civilization, we can survive in the wild while they die! Victor thought as he looked around the clearing, the cabin was at the center and he, Bryni and their Pokémon were at the edge and as he looked towards the cabin he stopping and squinted his eyes for a few seconds before he shook his head.

"Something wrong brother?" Bryni asked from leaning against his Pyroar as Victor shook his head.

"Thought I saw something moving, guess my nerves are still shot from the battle." Victor said with a shrug as he leaned back and closed his eyes. Bryni looked at him before he looked around the clearing as other warriors came into the clearing and stopped as he saw a patch of dirt in the grass and frowned before looking around, seeing other patches of dirt here and there. Something about them was bothering him, he could feel that something was wrong.

"Say did you notice anything else, something about those patches of dirt, something's bothering me about them." Bryni asked only for Victor to scoff.

"Old man, just because there are a few bits of empty dirt in the ground in the same place….wait." Victor sad as he sat up with a frown on his face.

"They're not in the same area, their spread out….. oh hell." Bryni said he and Victor realized and shot to their feet as they watched a Templar moving around the clearing and step onto one of the patches of ground. They couldn't call out before what looked like the mouth of a giant Venus-flytrap closed around the Templar! As they watched the ground the flytrap came from started to shake as a large body burst up, throwing dirt away as it stood up. It was a bear at least ten feet tall and 8 feet wide made of wood, it had the flytrap on its back and as they watched the body trapped within was growing smaller. From the other patches of dirt came three more of the {[Ursi-growth]} and two Red Woodhounds for each of the bears.

"AMBUSH!" Victor as Houndoom spat a blast of fire at the closest Usri-growth before it missed and was sucked into the flower on one of wooden wolves. "The wolf things are anti-fire, don't us it!"

"You two, handle the smaller ones! Pyroar start charging a Hyper Beam on the big one, through the heart!" At Bryni's command the two Knight Stalkers he had under his command surged forward at the Red Wolfhounds as Victor held his Houndour back.

"Houndour, stay back and protect the three of us!" Victor ordered and Houndour looked at the Ursi-growth as it sat there with its jade eyes as the body on its back was slowly being consumed. Victor looked around the clearing as the Knights of Team Gia attacked with their Pokémon and Golems, holding their own as they fell back to the cabin.

"This is insane!" Bryni said as he watched his two Knight Stalkers attack the flowed wolves as is Pyroar braced itself and fired a devastating beam that pierced the Ursi-growth and killed it, the flower wolves breaking away and dashing towards other Ursi-growths. Victor saw the beam go above the cabin and saw a branch unfold into a winged thing made of wood dodge the beam!

"Second wave, their hiding in the trees!" Victor barked as from around the clearing ten Treewings revealed themselves and attacked, helping the Red Wolfhounds to attack.

"AAAAWWWWWUUUU!" The howling form behind caused Victor to turn and see twenty Red Wolfhounds charging towards them! Before they could reach the battle a slice made of pink energy hit and caused an explosion that felled half their numbers.

"FIGHT ON WARRIORS, WORK TOGETHER AND FIGHT AS ONE!" Dante roared as the others came towards the battle, weapons, Golems and Pokémon ready to fight to protect their own. As Victor pulled out his two long daggers and the blades started to glow black he charged forwards with a cry, ready to take as many of them as he could before he fell, Bryni and their Pokemon following behind him as they rushed to break through to the cabin.

Leaf looked at Viridian as she waited for the others to reach her, a small smile on her face as she gazed at the moon. I never thought that I would come back to a city after how they got me away from that place. Still I should call Green before I go back to my travels, I might not be after the League but I'm happy, I'm happy with where I am. She thought as she sighed.

"Sorry it took so long Green." A soft voice made her turn her head and see Chogan, Isa and Holly coming towards her. Everyone had a backpack on and was carrying their weapons on them.

"About time, what kept you all?" Leaf asked as she looked over the group Chogan laughed and elbowed Kimi.

"Sorry doc, but the Hearttree's here had to dodge thier cousin, he were looking for them." Chogan said as Kimi laughed as she pushed him.

"Oh it was so easy for you to dodge that fangirl of yours." Kimi said as Chogan hung his head.

"You guys know I'd rather she wouldn't act that way, it's creepy." Chogan said as the others laughed, releasing tension as they relaxed. "Still we're going to stage an intervention with Nicky about why he's been gone so long so let's motor, it's not too far right Leaf?"

"A Days travel and we'll be there. I think we should try and capture any of them alone to try and get an understanding of just what's going on." Leaf said as Isa looked at her.

"And here I was planning to stay outside and siege them with my arrows. No chance we can't charge in and break some bones if they've brainwashed our boy?" Isa said dryly as she crossed her arms. Leaf shook her head and looked concerned.

"They dealt with a lot more of those things that attacked us as we came into Viridian. And they were things they controlled, they weren't Pokémon or Chimera." Leaf said as the others looked at her in shock and confusion.

"This is Team Gaia right; the so called 'Team' that only was considered one because of how many people they had, right." Chogan said as they stared at her.

"That was the first Team Gaia, these are different." Leaf said. "Their more militant then they were. They're so different I'm having a hard time even thinking they're the same force!"

"If they're so different then could they just be using their name?" Isa asked as the others looked at each other. "I mean Team Gaia has a reputation, a few attacks or actions that the original Team Gaia would do, then the ruse works."

"Makes sense, and this area is near the heartlands, use the reputation of idiots against everyone and then attack in force." Leaf said as her words caused the others to pale and share looks with each other. "This way they have all the time they need to gather forces or resources for an alpha strike."

"And if their brainwashing people like they might have done to Nick, then time's all they need to raise an army!" Holly said with a hard edge to her voice. Nicky, brother what the hell happened to you, I knew I should have gone with you on that quest! She thought as the others eyes hardened as they gathered their courage. "We have to check this out, if it's Nick then we have to save him, if not then we have to find out what's going on!"

"So let's move before something else happens, I doubt we have a long time to do what we have to do, right?" Leaf said as the others nodded, releasing their Ride Pokemon and within moments the group was on the move. After they were out of sight a figure moved from where they had been hiding and looked after them before releasing a fully evolved Flying type and got on, Pokémon and rider silently flying after the group.

Farther away ten of the Hiver Workers were carrying a Gatherer while four squads of four Alpha's and five Warriors each protected them, as another Alpha led the way forwards, its squad of five warriors following behind it with the Gatherer having command of the twenty warriors, the mindless things barely keeping time as the Alpha handled the Gatherer's communication broadcasts as they moved. [Of course when the Creator wanted somebeing to set up a new hive for us in the forest we were driven from I stepped up as it were. I mean when I was hatched the plan was to set us up with at least three leaders to manage these things but of course needs must and you I'm sure will be able to defend us enough until the creator blesses me with the ability to produce new units for the bloodline…..]

The Alpha cursed that it had to deal with this one. You were probably sent because you're the most annoying and moronic of them all! I just hope you can gather the aura at a small enough trickle that the plants stay alive so they don't know we're there! Wait, what's that? The Alpha thought as it led the way forward, looking towards a rock formation where it thought it had seen something reflect moon light for a second. Before it could move towards it and investigate what it had seen something caused it to forget it.

[STOP!] The Gatherer broadcasted suddenly, the Workers stopping as the Alpha turned and looked at the large Hiver before sending a bolt at it.

The Gatherer glared at the smaller Alpha as it listened to the words it had sent. [We have to keep moving, I want to reach the forest to find a place to set up the hive before the light source rises.]

[Oh forget about making a hive, I taste Dragon on the air, one is nearby! To get a dragon would put us atop the pile as it were, to have that strength would make us powerful, to send part of such a thing as tribute would raise me….us in the creator eye!"] The Alpha looked at the swarm it was leading and saw a few of the Alpha's were drooling and it was temped as well. The Gatherer was right, the power of a Dragon added to their own had possibilities that could only help them, getting the power of a Dragon into their new brood would only strength their position, and with the Gatherer draining the Aura of the plants nearby they would be spotted sooner or later by any searchers once they started to raid.

The other Alpha's had been sending bolts to each other before a bolt from their leader hit them and the Gatherer and started to chitter as they reacted to what was sent. [Our orders were to make an outpost for wider strikes against the softskins, not to hunt Dragons. But then we haven't hunted it did we. So as the one our Creator put in charge I ask you, shall we hunt or leave it?]

As the Hivers moved towards where the Gatherer had detected the Dragon, the rock formation the Alpha noticed and forgotten about the rocks shimmered as a humanoid figure moved silent after the Chimera. "May Arceus bless me this night and grant me victory and strength."

Leaf looked around as she felt a shiver for some reason. What was that, I mean it felt like a wave just washed over me, what could that have been? Leaf thought as she looked around as her Dodrio carried her along. The group had been riding their Pokémon for about half an hour now and they were almost to the forest, having encountered nothing so far but the strange feeling she had just felt had just caused her to feel that something was wrong.

"What was that girl?" Kimi asked as she rode her Pokémon, a female Mightyena from the same litter as her brothers

"Nothing Kimi, just had a flash of some kind, I didn't even know where it came from just had a hint of worry.

"Keep it together girl, we need you to lead the way." Kimi said as she moved forward and smirked over her shoulder at Leaf. She laughed and her Mightyena moved forward until she was next to Chogan and his Mightyena and leaned over to him. "I can't see anything around here, can you?"

Chogan shook his head before looking around. There's knighting anywhere around here, and we didn't see anything…wait what's that smell? Chogan thought as a strange and putrid stenctch suddenly assaulted his noise.

"WHAT THE HELL!?" Edgar bellowed as his Pokémon reeled back as the smell hit them. It was a Sawsbuck, a brown and cream deer-like Pokémon with rhomboid ears and darker ear insides. Its eyes have light-orange markings that curve down to sides of its face and its noise was dark-brown nose, and it sports cream fur on its chin and sides of its face. Light-orange stripes rim its underbelly, and its back is decorated with spots tuft of cream fur appears on its chest, and its antlers are adorned with pink flowers. As everyone looked around the feeling Leaf had started to feel was growing stronger and she looked around until she felt something to the east. Turning she paled as she saw

"Chimera, from the east!" Leaf called out as she reached for her Pokeballs as she checked her arm shields and swallowed as she felt the same wave again.

"And from behind us!" Kimi said as she over her shoulder and cursed as she reached for her weapon.

"West too!" Chogan said with a scowl. How did they get here, I thought that they were all in the mountains! He thought as he looked ahead and saw Warriors and cursed. "And there are some infront, we have to weather them here!"

"Circle, now!" Isa called out as she knocked her bow as she got off her Drapion and released her Breloom who went to her other side. As the others did as they said with Leaf inside the circle with her Raticate and Dodrio guarding her as Chogan got off his Mightyena and released his Zoroark as the others did the same, Kimi and her Pokemon facing behind them, Chogan and his facing east, Holly facing west and Edgar with his spear facing north. Within moments they were surrounded by Hiver Warriors with four Alphas at the behind them and staring at them with hunger in their eyes as they looked at the Pokémon the trainers had released.

[So these was the source of the Dragon I scented! To think you softskins could even command one of these! And one of you is one of those, truly this is a proper hunt!] Leaf paled as she slowly turned her head and looked at the Gatherer being carried by the Workers as it came into view as an Alpha led four Warriors behind it.

"You…you can communicate with us, with each other?" Edgar whispered as he looked at the Chimera and saw the Alpha next to the Gatherer send a bold of blue energy at the larger one. That wasn't an attack, could that have been a way for it to communicate, Arceus protect us, these things can think! Edgar thought as the party stared at the Chimera as he gripped his weapon.

[Of course we can you fools! That you softskins forgot about this just shows that you derrserve to be our food! And don't worry, they will die here and now so don't worry old fool!] The Gatherer laughed and Leaf frowned as she looked at the Alpha standing next to it and realized the same thing Edgar had.

"What, do you think we'll just role over and die for you?" Chogan asked as he gripped his spear and stared over the Warriors at the Alpha, remembering what he had heard, take out those and the others are just animals.

"Sorry but if you want us as food, you're really gonna regret trying to make that work!" Isa said as she aimed right at the Gatherer as all but the Alpha next to it laughed. Their laughing, Chimera's can laugh? I don't want to think what the groups attacking their den is experiencing!

[Of course I expect you to fight and that is what's best about you, dinner and a show! Do

Suddenly three blue energy buzz saws flew through the air and cut off the heads of one Alpha and two Warriors next to it, but before anyone or thing could react a voice called out.

"LETS GO, FEAROW SWIFT, CHESSNAUGHT FORM LEAF SWORD, HANDLE THE ONES CARRYING THE BIG ONE!" A voice above came out suddenly as a powerful Fearow, a Chessnaught that formed a blade of green energy in its right hand as their trainer landed on the Gatherer's back and slammed a broadsword into its back causing it to screech as it tried to move. As the Chessnaught landed it slashed out with the energy sword and started to kill the Workers as the Fearow started to fire golden stars at the Warriors as the others stared in shock at the figure on the back of the Gatherer. He was their age with green hair in a short spikey style and wore a black cloak over a gray shirt with black pants and vambraces with green gems on his forearms. "Don't you dare give up!" The teen bellowed as the Gatherer reacted to the attack started to shriek and force the Workers holding it to jolt it in an effort to buck off the attacker.

"FRANZ?!" Isa gasped as she saw her cousin before she shook her head and attacked the Chimera with a yell, prompting the others and their Pokémon to react and remember what was happening, Isa shot arrows at the Workers holding the Gatherer as her Drapion charged the Warriors with Breloom staying back to defend their trainer. Leaf raised her shields as her Rattacate and Dodrio both started to charge Hyper Beams as Edgar charged at the Warriors menacing his side as his Serperior as Chogan charged his own foes with his sickles.

As the trainers and their Pokemon attacked the Hivers the lead Alpha looked about and tried to figure out how to follow its orders. I should have put my foot down about the Dragon, now they know our kind can communicate and with that one here we might all die! It thought as it watched the carnage and ignored the shrieks of the Gatherer.

[Get this softskin off me you idiots! Kill it so I may feast on its bones for the dishonor it deals me!] The Gatherer shrieked as Franz slammed his sword down again, hoping to find a weak point or its heart. Chogan sliced off a Warriors right arm as Isa shot an arrow into the eye of an Alpha as the others dealt with their own opponents before moving after others. The Alpha looked at the battle before surging away as, pulling ten of the Warriors after it as it ran.

[Where are you going, get back]Whatever it was trying to say is left to it alone as just then both Rattacate and Dodrio fired their Hyper Beams and cored the Gather, the attacks having hit the heart and brain, killing the Chimera. Franz pulled out his sword and jumped to the left and started to slay the Workers that barely reacted to the death of their charge.

The Alpha ran, leading the Warriors it had been able to pull away with its will as it cursed, going over the plans it had made and how it would have to change. I have ten warriors, not much but I can! Suddenly a spear made of ice impalied the Alpha through its head and the Warriors stopped and looked around, having become no more than animals.

A roar behind them towards where the battle was still being fought caused the Warriors to look in that direction in confusion and one of them took a step in that direction. Suddenly a small three foot tall rat ran through the Warriors, their simple minds seeing it and thinking food. they ran after it, one of them at the fringe moving after a second one and followed it towards the mountains in the distance but the others hadn't seen it, and followed the first one until they lost sight of it and ran into the forest. After they were all gone a small musical feminine giggle came out and the cloaked figure moved after the greater host.

Leaf looked around as the last of the Chimera were slain and she looked at Franz as his Pokémon gathered to him. "Man Franz its great you made it! We would have….." She trailed off as Franz turned to them and looked at them with a scowl on his face.

"You idiot better have a good reason to have left the city, that's all I'm saying!" Franz said as he looked at the teens who looked guilty.

"Are we going to talk about how this thing could use telepathy or not?!" Isa said as she looked at the dead Gathrer and stabbed it with an arrow as the others gathered together.

Franz looked at her and bit his lips as he looked around at the dead Chimera. I know what she's saying, this was unprecedented! These things look like they're all related but why could only this thing do it? That doesn't matter, what these idiots are doing. Franz thought as he scowled. "Yes that's something to look into or tell someone but that doesn't answer my question about what in Giratina's name your all doing here!"

"Leaf found Nick, he's with Team Gaia. We're going to confront him." Chogan said causing Franz to jerk his head at Chogan before slowly panning his head and ending on Leaf who nodded at him.

"Then I'm going with you, if that idiot doesn't have a damn good reason then I'm going to bash him over the head!" Franz said as the others looked at him as he turned away and clenched a fist. That punk better have a good reason for being gone so long, I knew I should have called Ash when he disappeared but nooo! He told me he might be gone for a few weeks and the deadline for him to come back isn't here yet so I thought nothing about it, but why didn't he send a message to any of us? He thought as he looked around and smiled when he saw where they were. "Come on, there's an old hideout of mine we can spend the night in, we can start hunting for him in the morning."

Brock looked around as the company set up camp by the remains of the cabin and frowned. What happened here, when we left it was still standing, could those things have come and eaten it, if so why? Brock thought as he moved around the remains of the cabin, hoping he'd find something that would tell him anything at all about what had happened.

"This doesn't make sense, what happened here?" Brock asked aloud as he looked down at the cabin's remains and frowned as he looked closer at the wood and dropped down to look at what he saw closer. This looks like, but what could have? He thought as he removed a sample to show the others.

Giovanni looked at the destroyed cabin and frowned. Yuji said that this place was intake in his report, what could have happened? He was pulled from his thought as Brock came over holding a damaged timber piece.

"We have a problem, a major problem." Brock said flatly as he handed over the piece of wood. Looking it over Giovanni frowned as he saw it.

"Something set fire to this, no….the damage isn't consistent for just fire, it's like something melted it afterwards." Giovanni said as Brock nodded

"A Poison attack was used, a liquid one; I've seen something like this before." Brock said as Giovanni raised an eyebrow at him. "I journeyed for a while with a friend, and we got into strange situations, once we saw a pack of wild Gloom fight a forest fire with black liquids by making a fire line."

"What did…you can tell me at the next party the Doctor sends you to in his place. When could this have happened and was this what whoever they did wanted to happen?" Giovanni asked as he gestured to the trainers setting up tents all over the clearing and Brock took a minute to figure out what he meant.

"Why would they deny a group our size a small structure….unless they didn't know it was a group our size. They were after something else, a way to protect themselves from small groups trying to find their nest?" Brock asked as he stared into space, the idea that a Chimera could plan shocked him. But Riley said the Guardians had to seal them away, after the leader led them on a path of conquest. It could be smart enough for this but why would it have its spawn do this? Brock thought before Giovanni looked at him and sighed, shaking his head.

"No, if it was the Chimera we're hunting then I think we might be in bigger trouble and our plan has zero chance of working. The spore attack they did, all it did was let us know something was wrong up here and they've started to recover last I heard." Giovanni said as Brock nodded, the spore having died out a few hours before they had departed. Brock looked up and saw Lance coming in on his Dragonite, back from patrolling the nearby area and motioned for Giovanni to follow him.

Lance landed and frowned, cursing the fact that the Chimera had been able to set up a nest here and get so intrenced. I'm so glad I used my telescope to check out the area, the terrain is difficult but I was able to find an entrance to the nest, I think. As the battle develops I'll send the information if anyone makes it closer and have them judge for themselves who will go in. Lance thought as he got off his Pokemon and rubbed its head, his Dragonite purring as he did. "Thanks partner, this is not going to be easy."

"What did you find Lance?" Giovanni's voice caused him to turn and see both Giovanni and Brock walking towards him.

"I think I found the main entrance to the nest, there used to be a small forest up here and well they've cleared it out and there were two of the leaders and a lot of the followers outside a cave. Best bet is to move and have those trainers with Pokémon that can use Hyper Beam barrage the mountain and try and handle the retaliation." Lance said as he looked around the clearing and frowned when he saw the cabin had been destroyed. "Wasn't this used as a base by the Guard, how'd the Chimera

"It might not have been them, this place was set on fire and then they used poison on the ashes." Brock said as Lance jerked up and then looked at the ruins and a few things went through his mind quickly and he came to a….understanding.

"Who or whatever did this, if it wasn't the Chimera, then we've got another force up here. Motion sensors and have every guard on a shift, no more than two hours." Lance commanded as he looked around the clearing and frowned as he observed the clearing with the new information. Whoever was behind this didn't take anything, Brock said there was nothing left to take….so whoever did this wanted to destroy this place, but why? Lance thought as he tried to figure out anything he could from the clearing, never noticing something metallic farther up the cliff wall behind him and the others.

Nearby Rosette looked about the destroyed station and felt….nothing. We were all the misfits and washouts; those who the Army was trying to get to fail and leave on our own and we all knew it but this was our station, before the others transferred away I was content here, the old place didn't deserve this. She thought as she looked up from setting up her tent and sighed.

"You doing okay, Rosette? I can tell this isn't easy for you." Riley's voice caused her to turn and smile at him as he finished his own work and was coming towards her.

"It's not too bad Riley, I had come to like this place but the trainers were the worst and most evil in the guard, I took to sleeping out in a cave a bit farther down with Aracanine out just to feel safe at night." Rosette said as she finally confided what the last few weeks here had been like for her. "Still I served with honor and responsibility no matter what others said, and I can take pride in the fact I was able to let the world know what happened to this base."

"Maybe you're next posting will be better, I mean you survived a Chimera swarm attack, that's got to be worth something to the Guard, right?" Riley asked only for Rosette to look down in an emotion that Riley couldn't identify.

"Impossible." Rosette said as Riley laughed and shook his head.

"You don't know that, you were able to survive what could be called the start of a new Siege, tell people about it and report in. Why they'd have to be idiots not to…." Riley began before Rosette interrupted him.

"The Guard has given me a dishonorable discharge for running from a foe that we could have beaten and leaving my comrades to die." Rosette said flatly. Riley blinked a few times and stared at her in shock.

"They what." Riley asked softly as he looked at her, horror going through him as he tried to figure. "You were trying to get the word out while you were outnumbered, hunted and you were trying to do your duty! It wasn't your fault, there was nothing you could have done differently!"

"Yeah, I barely contacted headquarters before they transferred me to one of the generals and I could barely get a word in edgewise before they told me that I was a disgrace, a coward and a traitor. That they couldn't prove it was why they only gave me a dishonorable discharge for cowardice, and suddenly they weren't at fault." Rosette said with a bitter edge to her voice as Riley stared at her. "So! On that note; mind if after this is done I travel with you and your student for a while?"

"We're not staying in Kanto, I'm not sure where we're going next." Riley said as he looked at her and Rosette smiled a little.

"I could do with leaving this place for a while, so that's fine." Rosette said as she looked at Riley who only sighed and looked at her before smiling a little.

"We could do with someone else to watch our backs, and we could help you round your team out a bit." Riley said before Rosette punched his arm and laughed.

"So that's a yes then?" Rosette said as Rilely laughed and smirked.

"It's not a no." Riley said as he held up his hands. "If you still want to come with us and Cameron gives his okay, welcome aboard."

"Thanks, how about we go volunteer for the last watch, that's always the best one." Rosette said as she walked off and Riley nodded before walking after her.

On the other side of the mountains a boy in a black shirt and blue pants with red hair looked around and stretched as he looked towards the mountain. So this is it hu, with luck we'll handle this in the next few days and be able to go to Viridian for a parade. Dad said not to try and make it through on my own, never said I couldn't volunteer for this. He thought as he looked around and saw the perimeter Bruno had set up as they set up their camp a day's march from the Plateau. He sighed as he remembered the evacuation most of the outlining towns had done and evacuated to the Plateau and how Bruno had taken over and how they had thrown back a raiding force that attacked the refuges, Silver himself fighting and killing one of the horned leaders with his team.

"So everything okay there kid?" A gruff sounding voice behind him caused Silver to turn and see Bruno himself standing there as he looked at Silver.

"Yeah, I'm fine sir. Just wondering how those things will try and kill us next." Silver said as Bruno nodded.

"Smart how you handled the battle, waiting until those slaves were in the way before using trick to kill and set off their leader." Bruno said as he looked at Silver with an unreadable expression.

"I heard that those things self-destruct when they die, so one of my throw away knives seemed like a good thing to use." Silver said as he looked at Bruno nodded. Who is this child, he's acting like he carries knives just to throw and run. I wonder if I should looked into his home life, he's a trainer and free so he's not in danger.

"Basic tactics, fight smarter not harder. But if you have to fight hard don't back down on power." Silver said as he looked at the darkness and missed the look Bruno sent him.

"Stay alive kid, I'd hate to have you become one of the causality from this thing." Bruno said as Silver nodded and looked at the mountain in the distant and frowned.

"I hope the guards have motion sensors and not heat." Silver muttered under his breath and Bruno frowned.

"Why would that make a difference?" Bruno asked as he looked at Silver who shrugged. What is there to this kid, he's pratical, smart and strong, a dangerous combination. And now this, what is the connection and why do the type of sensors we're using matter? Bruno thought as he waited for Silver's answer.

"A guy I talked to once had a story about a Chimera that had a low body temperature, you know the type." Silver said as Bruno looked at him. "Said if he hadn't had a motion sensor set up then they never would have noticed the fact that the Chimera coming at them was colder than the area they were in."

"Lucky break." Bruno said robotically as he looked at Sliver with interest, his mind going over what Silver had just told him and finding reasons why it should matter what was helping to watch the camp.

"Yeah but I learned a long time ago, never count on luck when you're in the field, count on skill." Silver said as Bruno nodded absently and looked at Silver closer. Silver stretched and turned away from Bruno and stopped and looked over his shoulder. "But thanks for letting me talk, I think I needed it. Good night sir, good luck for the campaign's strategy; really hope it works."

Bruno looked after Silver as he walked deeper into the camp, a frown on his face as he watched the teen leave. Who the hell is he? He's smart, carries weapons that he plans to losses if he has to and he treats things that he's told as gospel and remembers when they might have an effect on if he lives or dies. That's not normal, so not normal for someone his age, and why haven't I ever seen him in any of the League Conferences, you think someone like him would have gotten to the top thirty-two at least! Bruno thought as he let his thoughts wander and never noticed someone walk up to him.

"You okay boss?" A voice caused him to turn and see a man in his early thirties in a military uniform walking towards him, a frown on his face. The man had a sword over his shoulder and a small knife at a sheath at his waist. Bruno nodded as he looked at his second and gathered his thoughts.

"Fine Van, just thinking about that kid….Something's off with him, I can't tell what but something's off." Bruno said as Van looked at Silver and frowned.

"I've seen the kid around town, he does enough quests to afford an apartment and I've seen him on dates with an out of towner once or twice." Van said as he looked at where Silver was heading towards the kitchen area. "Want me to look into him boss, if you really think there's something wrong about him."

Bruno frowned and shook his head after a few minutes. "No, it could be anything really. From talking to a vetern of the last Siege, some old journal he read or some leason a teacher taught him, he's just more….mature for his generation. I can't explain it; maybe he wants to be a Bounty Hunter or something, he's just…."

"Got it boss, but remember what the old man says, trust your gut." Van said as Bruno looked at Bruno. The boss usually doesn't think about things like that, but he's got great instincts. So the kid might have something going against us or isn't normal, but what's really normal these days really. Van thought as he shook his head and looked back into the camp."If you think something's wrong then we need to look into it, it might be a false positive but better safe than sorry."

"No, I said something's off about him not wrong. And about the Mountain, how do you think they got a jump on the forces up we had up there? " Bruno asked as he looked at the mountains and frowned as he started to brood. So they could have taken out the outpost up there fast but no one even got a message out, but I thought that girl would have lived. Bruno thought as he finally decided to speak about what was really bothering him. "I just can't believe that she got taken out so easily, she was the strongest trainer there even if she only had one Pokémon, and most outposts have at least one Flying specialist assigned so why couldn't they escape."

Van just held the back of his head and looked at Bruno, biting his lips and looking away. "Yeah, about that subject boss."

"What about her, or is it about the outposts?" Bruno asked as Van sighed and fought against himself for a few seconds before telling Bruno everything he knew.

"The outposts boss. There have been a few rumors here and there about a few outposts; places that someone uses to put people out of mind with no account for what kind of Pokémon or skill level they have. I started to hear about them with before she got reassigned, something about people looking at her and since this crisis started I've seen people at the Guard acting differently since we got the call about what happened in Viridian, I think there's something more going on." Van said as he braced himself as Bruno slowly turned to him.

Bruno frowned as he tried to digest what Van was telling him and what he wasn't saying and Bruno found he didn't like any of it. "Wonderful, I really need to have a talk with the general then. And on that note you think if any of them survived then to hide the state of the outpost they would have been used as scapegoats?"

"That's what I'm thinking boss." Van admitted shamefaced, his own position in the League and the time he spent in the Guard at the front of his mind. When the boss asked me to work under him as the link between the League and the Guard, I thought I would be able to do a lot of good and I have, but I let the Guard to be taken over by what might be people with agendas that are against Kanto and Johto! I don't know what I can really do without destroying the Guard and making the job of the Slayers more difficult, but I might have to! Van thought as he looked at the mountain. "Request to petition Lance to have someone look over the Guard boss."

"I'll make it myself; we might need them at full strength in the future." Bruno said as he looked at the camp and moved towards the kitchen before stopping. "And make sure that we're using motion sensors, not heat."

"Why would that matter?" Van asked as he looked at Bruno who waved a hand.

"Just make sure okay?" Bruno said as he walked off. Van looked after Bruno before shaking his head and moving towards the guards.

Deep within the mountain cavern that was the home of the Hivers, an Alpha moved through the passages at a brisk speed as it passed other Alphas leading Warrior or Workers, none of them paying attention as they went about their tasks. So their back and coming at us. We still can't tell how long that they locked us away, I mean those spheres that hold the creatures they didn't have them before. And of course that idiot had to have the plague bearers release their poison, that had to let them know something was up here, if she didn't mutate it into a mindless one then I would have challenged it to combat! It thought as it moved deeper into the cave and stopped when a bolt struck it from behind. [Old one, wait! i didn't know you were called in as well.]It heard as it turned and saw one of the newer Alpha's moving towards it.

It looked at the youngster for a few seconds before it recognized the Alpha before it, this was one of those who had led the group that had attacked the first softskins the Hivers had found. It sent a bolt of aura at the youngster and waited for a reply. [Ahh, I know you, the mind behind the first attack on our foes, you have been called as well?]

The newcomer nodded to the old one and sent a bolt at it, moving on after it was hit. [Yes ancient one, I am. This must be because of how the Poisoners were used, do you agree?]

The old one moved on and sent a bolt at the youngster, content to follow along behind, nodding at what had been sent. [No, last I heard from the guard captain that one has been punished already, I expect this is about how long we were asleep and how we will handle the way the softskins have changed.]

The two Alphas kept silent as they moved through the tunnels, keeping their eyes 'open' as they navigated the area their hive had colonized so long ago. After a few minutes they finally reached the area they were heading for, an area over half of the Alpha's and with two bulky Warrior forms before a stone set against the wall. The Old one looked at the Warriors and frowned, it had seen things like them before they had their long 'sleep', in their first hive. So the creator is reinforcing the guards, bad sign that. I have a strange feeling about this meeting, a strange feeling. Why am I feeling this. It's thoughts died as the boulder was moved aside and what was revealed was a shadow cave, within a figure bigger than even the bulky warriors moved about and it had a feeling something was looking at them all before it heard a broadcast. [My warriors, my commanders we are free! Those who fought us have left, either think us dead or they have died out! This mountain has been cleansed and we have taken the strongest of their traits as our own! Soon the softskins will learn of us and fall! Soon an interpreter will be born to go and give our commands to them!]

As the Alpha's cried out in joy and bolts sending thought of worship flew around the chamber the old one felt something touch it and it turned to see the youngster it had walked with and felt a bolt hit it before going still at what had been sent to it. [Never would I go against our creator's will but has it even been told about the attack, about the group that fought off the foraging party?]

The old Alpha looked at the youngster and felt confusion as it tried to understand what it was told and sent a bolt at the youngster who dropped before getting back to its feet. [What attack, and who fought us off?]

The youngster sent a bolt at the older one who scowled as it turned to look at one Alpha in the center of a group, sending bolts at the others. [You never heard, when we were cleansing the mountain we came across an outpost we killed most of them and the creatures they commanded and one escaped. After a while we found the dead remains of those sent to hunt her down and then while coming back we fought a Rock softskin and a few softskins attacked a collector! That one there said the creator would be told and not to talk about amongst ourselves.]

The old Alpha look /RWS137 around and started to think. That one was one of the Betrayer's ilk, could this be a new coup, no. it was the one who killied the traitor…could it have been a part of its plan? Before the Alpha could send a bolt towards its maker a screeching caused everything in the cave to the passage to the wider hive and saw an Alpha without a left stinger and leg to stumble into the chamber and send bolts to the entire group, fall partly to the ground after it did so. [Softskins backed up by the creatures creator, from the town to the north! A smaller group was spotted coming from the lake city, they've made camp within a day's march on the hive!]

The old Alpha looked at the younger one and tried to figure out what this could mean before broadcast from their creator. [AGAIN! AGAIN those pathetic softskins come at us! I had thought to grant them mercy and our protection but their arrogance has sealed their doom! This time we will survive, many might die but our line will continue!] The 'voice' from the shadows screeched as the Hivers around the cave opening cowered away from it. [Unleash all our forces against them, send the majority of our forces against the ones from the lake city, and send the remaining against the city that was poisoned! Commanders are to have one less then their maximum, this is my order!]

As the Hivers moved away a bolt of energy reached out from the darkness and hit one of the oldest Alphas. [You stay, I have a job for you.]

The old Alpha stayed back and let the younger ones leave the cave until only the few guards were in the egg chamber and the darkened cave and it sent an energy blast into the cave. [Creator, how might this foolish old warrior serve you?]

A bolt struck the Alpha and it inclined its head as it assimilated the message. [Do not talk like that old one, you have fought for me since my first campaign against the softskins with loyalty and honor, when the revolt happened you were the first to take my side. You have defended me and I am sorry that this time you shall not, for I have a job for you, a special job that requires your experience, but you must change for it to succeed.]

The Alpha sent a bolt at into the shadows and bowed its body to the floor of the cave as the shadow received its projected message. [Alas my creator I must use those words, for a treachery has slipped by the both of us my lady and I know not how wide spread it is]

From the shadows a bolt hit the Alpha and it raised its head. [Speak then loyal one, for I know that you would not have let a traitor live like the redeemed one.]

The alpha bent its head and looked down at the ground as it sent a bolt to the shadows, a sense of menace suddenly starting to radiate from it. [Begging your pardon creator but that one is the traitor. I was told by one who was there that when our forces cleansed the mountain one of the softskins escaped and one of the Rock softskins was part of a second group that a patrol swarm encountered and fought off.]

The shadow was silent before another bolt struck the Alpha and it bowed. [It seems that I must question that one about why it has acted so, and once more the bounty you brought back will serve me well. And your speaking up this does you good, and once more I am sure of my choice for this mission.]

The old Alpha sent a bolt as it raised its head and looked at the shadows as it received what it sent. [My Creator, everything I do is for your glory, I will do anything to serve you. My life is for your will.]

A bolt hit the Alpha and it looked at the shadows. [My loyal warrior, if only more had been like you in the time before our slumber then I would have won this land.]

A hacking sound was all it heard before a small fleshy sphere covered in black liquid was shot from the darkness and landed before it. A bolt struck the old one and it went still as it realized what its mission was to be.

It stood still as it looked at the darkness of the cave and sent a small bolt into it, projecting such a message.[Are you sure about this, my creator?]

After a few moments a bolt struck the Alpha and it nodded. [I failed the last time because I was over confident, even if we win this is a necessary move to spread, and you are the strongest smartest and most loyal of my offspring, you and the other I have chosen shall become my daggers against the softskins. But yours is the most important mission, you are the colonist.]

The Alpha looked at the sake of flesh and ate it quickly, a black glow covering its body as its horn dropped off and a split formed that opened as two wings shot. It increased in size half way and as the glow died down the new form the Hiver had acquired stood revealed. It had two small devil like horns pointing forward above its eyes, its lances had gained a four points in a X shape just behind the tip and another set of arms had grown bellow the head and on its back two long dragonfly like wings had formed. It turned towards the cave wall and spat a blast of a golden liquid from its mouth that hardened and became a golden reflective amber that it used as a mirror. It looked at itself and flexed its wings and nodded before it sent a bolt into the cave mouth. [This form feels right my creator. I can feel my body react to what you woke up and I swear that I will prove that I was worth of your choice.]

A bolt hit the old one and it stood taller as knowledge surged through it. [I know you won't my dagger, with the designs I gave you I know you will be worthy, now go and prosper.]

It nodded and it flew upwards until it left the caves and flew into the night's air and it turned towards Johto and flew away from, the battle. Goodbye creator, may you survive what is to come and you were right, to expand ourselves is how we will live on, but this contentment is yours, mine will be another. It thought as he flew away the first of the {[Royal]} Hiver, off to sprout a new den and bloodline, never noticing a large shadow that shot from the ground silently and followed after it as it flew.

"This way guys!" Lilith said as she held up her Pokédex as it beeped; the map program it had led the way towards what she hopped would be the Grand Contest. She smiled as the morning sun shined down and she felt like laughing. I'm going to earn my first Grand Ribbon, I'll show Clem….the others what I can really do and this is a beautiful day! Sometimes you really win. She thought as she smiled and released a sigh of contentment.

"Your happy about this, aren't you?" May asked as Lilith smiled and turned in a circle before looking at May and Eve who were following close behind her.

"I found the way to the contest for my 1st Grand Ribbon by chance, I had a great night's sleep and the meal last night was great, the morning sun feels great; all in all I'm feeling wonderful!" Lilith said with a smile as she led the way into the abandoned industrial park, Felicity talking with Bonnie and Serena as they walked, a smile playing over her lips as she listened to the chatter. After they had rescued Bonnie last night they had returned to the gym where everyone had helped make a good meal and been blown away with the spices Ash had used. While they were asking about it she and Felicity had shared a look, the spice mix was a familiar thing really, it tasted a bit like something that was part of the homeland's cooking culture, but it was missing a few ingredients to make it right. And he said that it's a blend his mother developed, one more point that they're who we thought they are, and then there's Ash's second Aura Link. Lilith thought as she looked at May. "And thanks for coming to watch me, you three didn't have to, I'm sure you have something you came to Kalos for."

May laughed and shook her head. "We don't need to be where we need to be for another five days, even if we take a longer time than normal to get there, we'll still get where we have to before it's too late"

"And I think my brother is liking being able to talk to Bonnie more." May said with a grin causing the two girls to giggle lightly as they looked over their shoulders at Bonnie and Max listening to something

"So anyway kido, I got started with my songs when I had this quest to help out at a party, I sang in the showers sometimes and Lilly knew about it and when the singer couldn't make it because of an accident when she broke her leg, they threw me out there and I just started to sing." Felicity said with a laugh. "I got so many requests for autographs after that and well, after that I just put out a video of me singing with nice looking backgrounds to get a friend to shut up about it I got an agent from a local tv breaking down my door to get me to sing on a talent show and that was how I started my idol carear."

"Wow, but what about those dance moves you did in that video Lilly showed me?" Bonnie asked as she looked up at Felicity as she laughed back.

"I found a good teacher who taught me how to move and a dance instructor and the rest is history. I don't have a large fan base outside of my home, but maybe one day." Felicity said as she smiled as she walked, her thoughts on the power she had activated to let her record the conversation behind her Ash having as he walked with Clemont and Eve.

Ash looked around as Clemont talked about the project that had stopped when the attack hand happened, his eyes noting a few areas here and there that bothered him for some reason. What's wrong, this wouldn't be the first time you've headed to a tournament or something in an abandoned….abandoned, that's it! this place isn't abandoned, its unfinished. Ash thought as they passed a factory that wasn't completely built.

"I've seen a few of industrial parks in my time and ruins, but this place, its like it wasn't born." Eve said as she looked around, a scowl on her face.

"Say Clemont, why exactly did the city abandon this place?" Ash asked as he looked around at the buildings, noting a few marks here and there that bothered him for some reason.

"Officially it's because the project failed, the subway was to bring the workers here from and a short trip to the airport meant increased profits them. Unofficially the person who was the driving force behind it was killed in the attack and well, red tape killed the rest." Clemont said as he looked around. "They say that punks, gang and outcasts gather here to have battles between themselves and Pokémon out here, they even say that there's and outlaw Pokémon Center somewhere around here."

"But being an outlaw isn't complete evil, I know a Joy like that back in Kanto. Runs a traveling clinic that hits the smaller towns." Ash said as he laughed.

"A Joy!?" Eve asked as she stared in shock.

"Something about not reporting an injured Pokémon that was found to have been stolen from a bastard that turned out to be abusing his Pokemon, guy was the son a mayor and well you know how some people go to hide their families dirty laundry." Ash said as he shrugged.

Lilith frowned as she looked around before someone spoke up. "Ahhh you're here about the contest aren't you?"

They all looked towards a woman with platinum hair in a braid over her left shoulder in a black business suit with glasses on walk towards them with a smile on her face. "Good, at least this way we'll have an even number of contestants."

"So then the Grand Ribbons are quite affairs then?" Lilith asked the woman who shook her head.

"No, I'd tell you how they're supposed to get spectators then you might find them easier, but I'll say that when this place was set as one of the first for the area, we thought the place was still active. It was only when we came here to set it up that we found the state of the place, oh where are my manors." The woman said as she bowed to them. "I'm Elizabeth Malatora, I'm one of the people who put this trial run together."

"How could you think this place was active, I mean really!" Clemont said he walked forward and looked at Elizabeth with a scowl on his face.

"Well sir first off who are you to make that your business?" Elizabeth demanded as she looked at Clemont with an air of superiority in her eyes.

"Clemont, The City's Gym Leader." Clemont declared causing Elizabeth to look at him with her mouth open before choking for a few seconds.

"The Gym leader…. An honor sire and please rest assured we've contact the League about the oversight and as we speak I'm sure that their finding out how this happened." Elizabeth said as she nervously gulped and Clemont nodded. Elizabeth turned and released a breath and turned towards what. "Well this way, the cut off time for applicants is in about half an hour so if no one else comes it will be a straight up three battles with the first and second placers getting a Grand Ribbon."

As they walked down the powered down escalator Ash saw a few people here and there in. So whatever you say this was pretty much a failure, but then the riddle is the way that you can figure it happened this way. I wonder, was that deliberate, wouldn't be the first time that local politics got in the way of something. Ash thought as he looked around. The station was designed to have three tracks with a central embankment area that could be reached by a two passageway set into the celling and wall with a staircase leading to the platform at the center of both

"There are changing rooms for three people at a time and a waiting room towards the right, unfortunately as I said if they're aren't at least three more people we won't be using them. Good luck." Elizabeth said she walked off. As the group looked around a haughty laugh caused Serena to freeze.

"Well, well. If it isn't the racer's daughter, how have you been Serena?" A voice called out causing Serena to slowly turn her head. Walking towards them was a teen girl their age with a curvy figure in a black dress that ended that her thighs, her blonde hair went to her shoulders with a bang over her right eye while her left black eye looked at them with a superior expression on her face.

"Éclair, what the hell are you doing here?" Serena asked as she looked at Éclair and scowled, thinking of all the pain she had caused her before she had switched from public school to homeschool.

"Oh I'm here to compete, my sister won the coin toss and she's doing that so when I heard about this I just knew that it would be perfect for me! And who are these people, the….." Éclair started to speak with a haughty tone as but she trailed off as she caught sight of Ash and just stared.

"What, common decency finally got your tongue?" Serena asked as Éclair ignored her and looked at Ash, a look of shock coming to her face

"Are you Ash Ketchum?" Éclair asked causing Serena to stare between her and Ash, going red in the face as she recognized the look of lust in her eyes.

"Nice to meet a friend of Serena." Ash said as he held out his hand and Éclair just shook it and walked away with in a rush. "So local bully?"

"She and her sister are prideful, hate outsiders and are some of the local Nobles from Vaniville Town. They bullied me enough that switching to homeschooling after a while was a pleasure. She and her sister are so…superficial." Serena said as she leaned against the wall. Those bitches better not try and make a play on Ash, I won't let them use him as a status symbol! She thought as she fumed, not noticing Bonnie was smirking slightly and May watched her with an unreadable look in her eyes.

Ash frowned as he looked after Éclair and sat down as well, the others following suit and descending into pointless small talk as Ash scratched Pikachu's ears as it leaned against him. I don't know why but I'm reminded about those two for some reason, I really hope I'm wrong about this and I won't have a desire to kill them like I do them. He thought as he let his eyes wander around and frowned when he saw a cloaked figure looking at them. "What the?" He muttered before he saw the figure move their head away and look towards where Éclair was standing and Ash shrugged, content that the guy had been girl watching.

"Something wrong Ash?" Clemont asked softly as he sat down after putting his backpack down behind him.

Ash let his eyes wander over the crowd, noticing three punks scoffing as they looked at the people still setting up the battlefield at the central platform and shook his head. "Nothing, I thought I saw something."

After half an hour the lights dimmed and a spotlight shinned down on a central spot. Standing there was a woman in with her red hair in a twin tails style wearing a red cocktail dress with knee high ruby boots and red lipstick and red diamond earrings. "Welcome all to the 1st Lumonis City Grand Ribbon competition! I'll be your hostess, Flarera"

"Now normally we have a structure the same as the regular contests but with only four Coordinators we'll be having a good old fashion three battles tournament. The first and second place holders both get a Grand Ribbon and the first also gets a special bonus!" Flarera said as she bowed. First up, Éclair VS David!"

"On stage Mawile!" Éclair called out pompously as she threw out her Pokéball.

"Let's brawl Machamp!" David barked as his Pokemon appeared

Across from Éclair stood a teen with bulging muscles in a black figher's gi with ripped sleeves and a shaved head with a Machamp standing before him flexing its muscles. Éclair's Pokemon was a small humanoid with a pale yellow body with black arms and feet, the fur on its on its legs looked like Mawile was wearing a long skirt that ended just before its feet. Its strangest feature was a pair of large black jaws emerging from the back of its head, a yellow spot on the top of the jaws and it had ten teeth, six on the top and four on the bottom.

"Close Combat Machamp!" David barked as Machamp shot forward and started to punch at Mawile as she dodged the blows. Éclair looked on, trying to keep her calm as she watched the battle, trying to find any opening for a strike. Of course since this is my first bout with him and he might not have seen my team battle then the 'Liar's Approach' is a good idea, let's see if he can tell what I'm after. She thought as she stood there, hoping to see and opening.

David smiled as Mawile led Machamp around the battlefield and tried to keep the smirk off his face at what he saw. This is perfect, if time to try the 'Three Elements Maneuver'. I just hope it works this time. He thought as he looked

"Slam it with an Ice Punch!" David commanded as Machamp shot forwards drove a glowing blue-white fist down at Mawile but she dodged and the punch froze most of the battlefield.

"Keep dodging Mawile, just like we trained last winter!" Éclair called out as Mawile skated around Machamp and he looked at his opponent. Ash watched with the others, a knowing look to eyes and he smirked. An Ice Punch couldn't have done that without training and 'slam it' perfect. As he said 'look to the trainers orders and the actions of the Pokémon, that is true wisdom'. Ash thought as he looked on.

"To bad it missed her." Serena said as with a smirk. "One frozen Fairy type and he'd have won easily."

"Yeah, too bad the attack missed." May said as Ash chuckled causing their group to look at him. "Ash?"

"So you all think he missed? Just watch." Ash said as Pikachu nodded.

Mawile skated around Machanp and David made a show of being mad. "Stupid! Aaarrrggghh! Just Burn her with Fire Punch!"

Machamp slammed a fist covered in flames down on Mawile, but she dodged the blow and Machamp hit the ice and melted all of it. As Mawile stood in the water Éclair looked on in shock as she finally realized what David had been aiming for as Lilith gasped.

"He couldn't be going for that!" Felicity said as she stared in shock. I haven't seen something like this attempted since that idiot tried it out and got shocked! If he can pull it off the right way! She thought as she watched on the edge of her seat, wondering how what he was attempting would work.

"What do you mean, what is it?" Bonnie asked as the others looked at the battle as May gasped as she realized what she was seeing.

"Now Thunder Punch!" David said as he let a small smirk appear on his face.

"Rocket!" Éclair called out. Mawile fired a steel beam from its back jaw and shot upwards as Machamp slammed a lightning covered fist down on the water, causing lighting to race all around and released a flash. As the flash died down Mawile landed Machamp stood there, flinching as electricity went over its body, that was what Éclair was waiting for and made her moved.

"Now bind with Grass Knot!" Éclair said as she grinned. This is it, one combination and I won! Thanks for giving me the perfect opening! She thought as she looked at her opponent.

Mawile's eyes glowed green as grass weeds suddenly shot out of the platform and bound Machamp, multiple strands of green grabbing its arms and legs as the electricity arched across its body.

"No Machamp! How can I get you out of this?" David aasked as he tried to figure out a way out but Éclair's laughter caused him to look at her.

"You can't I've won this! Finish the bout with your Psychic Fangs!" Éclair barked as Mawile charged at Machamp. As it neered them a purple energy mouth with fangs formed, the mouth opened wide before Mawile's head before it slammed closed when the psychic construct reached Machamp. Machamp stood there for a few seconds and grinned before it fell to the ground passed out and its trainer recalled it.

"You did great partner, have a good rest." David said as he bowed to Elcair as the people cheered. Elcair looked towards Ash as she walked and smiled, she had won when Ash Ketchum waswatching. I can't wait to tell the girls about this! And then there's Serena, who know she was one of his friends! I knew something about that Knato girl was different but I never expected this! She thought as she walked away from the battlefield.

Ash clapped and smiled, making a note about David to track him down one day for a match before he left Kalos. I don't see many trainers with Machamps who train them not to be tanks, I think I could learn a lot from a battle with him. And then there's Éclair, her tactics were all about victory, like Paul's were but there was something different about them. He thought as he watched Lilith stand up and move towards the stairs.

"Good Luck Lilly!" Bonnie said as Lilith walked passed her, Felicity nodding and receiving one in return as she watched her cousin pass her by. Clemont looked at her and gave her a smile as Eve talked quietly with May.

"That one, David he looks strong and honorable, if this is what we're after then maybe we should hire him along with Ash and the others for security." Eve whispered as May nodded.

"To early to tell for sure, but I can look up his trainers bio from the League if you think he's a good candidate." May promised as Eve nodded a hint of worry in her eyes. "What's wrong?"

Eve bit her lips and looked at May. "I had one of those dreams again last night, its why I was so out of it at breakfast. I'm worried about what we will find if….when we make it there."

Before May could reply a light shined down on the central platform as Flarera pranced onto the stage and looked out at the spectators.

"Well give it up to those two folks, and now onto the next match, Lilly VS Kagero." Flarera called out as the crowd cheered as the two trainers moved onto the central platform for their battle. Lilith stood there and across from her was a teen in a purple kimono with long sleeves covering her hands, her red hair in a bun. She stood proudly as she held up her right arm and threw out a Pokéball.

"Go Ariados!" Kagero called out as her spider like Pokémon appeared

"Go Murkrow!" Lilith called as her Murkrow appeared and took flight, flying around Ariados as it tried to keep sight of the Flying type.

"Ariados, Poison Sting!" Kagero called as she kept her eyes on Lilith's and before her Ariados fired white needles at the Flying type from its mouth.

"Murkrow, Protect!" Lilith ordered as the needles flew at Murkrow who formed a black sphere around herself as she flew around the platform and kept away from the Spider like Pokémon as Lilith watched Kagero, trying to get inside her head. So bug or Poison specialist, probably Poison. But she might have trained it as a brawler so the best bet I have is to use range but if she trained, no don't overthink it. Lilith thought as she locked eyes with Kagero who hid a smirk.

"Pin Missile!" Kagero called out. As Aradois's horn glowed white before white needles shot from it as Murkrow flew with the Protect active.

"Is she, no. she couldn't be trying to tire out Murkrow, or is she planning to overpower the Protect?" May asked causing Bonnie and Serena to look at her.

"That's possible?" Bonnie asked as Max laughed.

"Protect has a limit, it depends on level and power really. Don't get me wrong, their great to buy time or tank attacks but they can't be the end all, you always have to have plans for when the shield is down." Max said as Bonnie looked at him and nodded as Ash watched Max lector, glad the lessons he had taught Max had stayed with the boy. He never noticed Serena was listening in, silently learning about the move her Pokémon could do.

"Haze now!" Lilith's voice caused everyone to turn back to the battle and they saw that Murkrow had stopped d the Protect and dropped into a dive to dodge the Pin Missiles and was now trailing a black fog from its wings. Mukrow flew around Ariados and soon the battlefield was covered in it. Ash watched and shook his head as he felt his back heat up for a second before he shivered.

"You okay Ash?" Felicity asked as she noticed the shiver, causing the others to look at him. he waved them off and laughed.

"Guess this place has trouble with the air conditioning; I just felt a cold wave." Ash said as the others. Felicity looked at him out of the corner of her eyes, she had felt the same thing he had and she knew Lilith had too.

Lilith scowled, like Ash she had sensed what she knew was an Aura Wave, a way for people to know what was around without seeing them. Who did that?! If it was her, no who?! Lilith thought as she tried to find out who had set off the wave as she fought against her instincts to look around for the source.

"Ariados, Sunny Day!" Kagero called out, shocking Lilith before a red sphere shot up and the fog dissipated. "Now before it can recover Sludge Bomb, rapid fire!"

"Dodge it Murkrow!" Lilith cried as she locked eyes on Kagero who hadn't reacted beyond the few command to her Pokémon. Was she behind the wave just now, no. But who could have it have been. She thought as she

Ariados fired a bolt of brown sludge at Murkrow who dodged to the right and flew down before more bolts shot above Murkrow, forcing it to try and fly lower until one of them hit Murkrow before it exploded, sending Mukrow falling to ground when suddenly Kagero called out a command.

"Mega Horn!" Kagero ordered Ariados whose horn glowed white as it charged at Murkrow falling body, but Murkrow opened its eyes and started to hover as Ariados charged, startling Kagero. What could they be doing, wait were they waiting…oh no! Kagero thought as she realized she and Ariados had fallen into a trap.

"Steel Wing, bat it back!" Lilith called out, Murkrow wings glowed steel gray and she swung her wings and hit the glowing horn and they were locked before Ariados was flung back.

"Finish it with Drill Peck!" Lilith called out before Kagero could react. Murkrow flew at Ariados and spun, hitting Adiados until Murkrow flew away and hovered as Ariados got back up, but Lilith could see that one of its eyes was closed and she gritted her teeth as Murkrow hovered with a slight stiffness in its wings.

"Ariados return!" Kagero called out as a red beam flew and Ariados was recalled into its Pokéball. "You did great my dear, but rest in the Heal ball. I concede this match!"

Lilith stared as Kagero bowed to her and recalled her Murkow before she bowed back and the crowd exploded as they cheered both girls as Lilth walked towards Kagero who looked up. "Why, just why? That match could have gone either way."

Kagero smiled at Lilith and laughed a little as she hid her mouth behind her right sleeve. "Maybe, but I had planned to have my girl handle both matches, and you've made that impossible. Still I think that you'll have an easier time then I would so good luck and may we battle each other again before this Season is over."

Lilith looked at Kagero and offered her hand and Kagero grasped it in a warrior's handshake and they smiled at each other.

"What a great battle folks, and this is it! Our Final match, Éclair VS Lilly! Flarera began before a boom was heard from farther down the empty tunnels. "What in the?"

"SCRRREEEE!" From the darkness of the right tunnel came twenty quadorped creatures; they were four feet tall rat like creatures with blue reptilian skin and three bare skinny tails and ten of them charged at the people watching while the last ten charged the battle platform.

"Chimera!" A woman screeched as some of the people ran towards the stairs, but ten more of the {[Aquarats]} charged down them towards the fleeing people.

Ash had kept his friends from rushing towards the stairs and he greeted his teeth as he saw the Chimera attack the people, the three punks he had noticed earlier pulled out clubs and released their Pokémon to fight the Chimera. That's bad, they didn't react so they knew about them, so that's why they're here, makes sense. Why do I have a feeling I'm seeing a vigilante situation here? Ash thought as he drew his sword and looked at the others.

"Stay together and try to find an opening, if we can get to open ground we can find out how wide spread this is. At least we'll be able to send a flare up." Ash said as the others drew their own weapons and released their Pokémon. "Keep Bonnie in the middle and move!"

"What about Lilly?" Bonnie asked before Felecity grabbed her and pulled after Ash as he ran towards the far wall on the side Kagero and Flarera had been on.

"My cousin will be able to handle herself! We just have to worry about ourselves now!" Felicity reassured Bonnie as she released Rocker as she clenched her fists as she looked around, hoping to find anything to help her keep Bonnie alive.

One the central platform Lilith reacted fast and slashed out with her whip with one hand as she released her Pokémon with the other. Kagero flexed her hands and metal claws tipped with purple stones that reached a good foot past her hands shot out from her sleeves and she threw out a Pokéball that released an Arbok that flanked their trainer as she shot forward at the Aquarats

with a blush on her face as she slashed out, killing one before another tried to come at her back before Lilith grabbed it in her whip and her Murkrow fired a white energy saw that cut off its tail, causing blackish blood to gush out of the stump. As Lilith went back to back with Kagero she looked around and saw that five of the Chimera were surrounding the two of them.

"My thanks Lilly-san, I got caught up in the kill." Kagero said formally as Lilith smirked.

"Happens to the best of us Poison girl; just stay in the now. So my side or yours for the breakout." Lilith asked as she saw Flarera walk backwards and draw a short sword that she held like she knew how to use it.

"I suggest we make for Flarera-san and go from there, we can go with how the situation develops to tell us how to handle this." Kagero said as she slashed down at an Aquarat that jumped at her. She fought well with her Pokémon and she's good with a weapon, not like most of the Kalos born I've seen, perhaps she's like me, a visitor to this region. She thought as she looked at the Chimera and frowned when she saw five of the bests were staying by the tunnel. "What are they?"

"HIIYEAH!" Lilith's warcry caused Kagero to forget about it and follow after her as they charged at the Chimera between them and Flarera.

David dodged a lunging Chimera and sliced down with his fist, sending it to the floor before a white karate gi clade lean bipedal Pokémon with rocky blue skin kicked the Aquarat away. "Thanks Sawk! Let's keep it up!"

As Sawk struck out at the attacking Chimera David looked around and saw a woman in a black business suit holding a bleeding arm as three Aquarats menaced her and cursed as he saw her. "There Sawk, lets help her!"

"Sawk!" Sawk bellowed as he charged at the Chimera as David fallowed behind. With a battle cry they struck the Chimera and spun around, standing between her and the Chimera.

"You're the contestant, David right?" Elizabeth asked as she stared at him as he spun around and kicked away an Auquarat as it jumped at them.

"Yes mam, stay behind us, we'll get you out of here!" David promised as Elizabeth looked around and noticed that Ash and the others were making their way towards stairs, getting others to join them as they moved closer.

"There!" They're trying to make for the stairs, if we can join them we can all get out of here!" Elizabeth said as she grabbed one of David's arms to get his attention.

David looked at Ash and paled when he heard a slow rumbling from the opposite side. He turned his head around towards the sound and saw the tunnel and noticed the five Aquarats standing guard as more of them flooded in. Those things are smart enough to have a guard set up. Whatever's back there's big; really big! We have to get out of here before it's too late! He thought as he looked at the tunnel before grabbing Elizabeth's arm. "Come on, something's coming out of there we have to move now!"

As David pulled her away towards Ash she looked at the river of Chimera moving into the improvised contest hall and paled as she knew heads would roll as soon as she reported what had happened here. I can only hope I'm not one of them. But how could Chimera have gotten here, I thought the police had a taskforce to check the city?! She thought as they neared Ash and the others.

Ash sliced down with his sword and killed one of the attacking Chimera and looked around as he looked who was fighting beside him; Pikachu was by his side, checks sparking as he fired blasts at the Chimera, Clemont stood with his axes raised as his Bunnelby as Blaziken spat fire as May kicked out at anything that came near them as Fennekin held the back bu forming a Protect to force them into Serena's kill zone. The three punks he had seen before had actually been able to kill the Chimera attacking form the stairs and even now were trying to get anyone they could out of the station. He risked a glance and saw Lilith and Kagero fighting together and moving towards Flarera as she tried to defend herself.

"HEY!" Ash turned to the shout and saw David, his Sawk and Elizabeth making it through the Aquarats and he looked straight at Ash. "We've got to move, something bigger is coming from the tunnel those things are guarding!"

Ash turned and frowned as he looked at the tunnel, seeing what David had. This is wonderful, just what we need! And then there's Lilly, climbing those stairs will take too much time and with how steep they are its imposable in a combat situation, how can we survive this? What do I have to work with…that's it, that's how we can get out faster! Ash thought as he looked at Felicity and Pikachu. "Pikachu Thunder above the protected tunnel! Felicity, does Rocker know Rock Tomb?"

As Pikachu blasted a bolt of electricity and caused an explosion that caused both tunnels to collapse, killing two of the guards. Felicity looked at Ash in confusion before nodding, wondering why before Ash gestured towards the subway tracks and Lilith and the others fight the Chimera on the platform, causing Felicity to start as she realized what he wanted her to do. As Felicity and Rocker moved to follow his orders Ash kept his eyes on the Aquarats, notching with a hint of fear five of twenty still attacking them had split off and was going towards the three surviving Chimera at the tunnel, who had turned around and were trying to clear the blockage. That's not normal, really not normal. We have to get out of here before whatever is coming makes it here. Ash thought as he gripped his sword and tried to plan a way to get out of here.

Lilith slashed out with her whip and killed another of the Aquarats as they reached Flarera and turned, defending themselves as Flarera panted.

"Thanks but I don't know how we'll make it up the stairs. You might have just giving me a stay of execution girls." Flarera said as she cursed the fact she had left her weapon and Pokemon to be repaired and to have a checkup when she had come here. Never, ever, again. I am so not leaving without my main weapon or team ever again! Flarera thought as she looked at the Chimera as they gathered to make an attack.

"Rocker, Rock Tomb, Bridge!" Felicity called out and Lilith felt hope. Turning she saw pillars of rock from that they could use to get across the tracks. Looking at the other side she saw her friends fighting off Aquarats as they stayed in place.

"Move it you three; we can't hold'em off for much longer!" Felicity called out as she sliced down with her naginata and bashed an Aquarat into the air and landing on a subway rail, screeching as it cooked as the three looked down before staring at the Aquarats as they moved closer.

"Go Lilly-san, this one and her Arbok will be last. Arbok dissolving bridge strategy!" Kagero said as she bared her claws as the Aquarats.

"SCRREEEE!" A screeching roar muffled by the rocks caused the Aquarats to cower for a few seconds. The humans and Pokémon stared and saw the rocks blocking the tunnel seemed to pulse as they heard something slam into the rocks.

"MOVE!" Ash barked as he sliced off the head of another of the Chimera leaving just ten between them and the stairs and five on the platform menacing Lilith and those with her. As Lilith led the way over the rocks Kagero came last as her Arbok followed behind her and spat a black liquid that ate at the stone, and when one of the Aquarats stepped on it fell to the ground and screeched when it hit he tracks, cooking by the electricity until nothing was left but a smoking corpse.

Clemont looked at this shocked that power was still going to the tracks and almost didn't react fast enough when another of the Chimera leapt at him but Rocker appeared and kicked the Aquarat towards the tracks and it died screeching. As Lilith made it to the main platform with the other two and their Pokémon trailing behind them she looked at the tunnel and paled when the Chimera working had freed a space the same size as them and saw an eye that took up the entire empty space. Ash had seen the eye and swallowed. I haven't seen something that big in a while, but how could it be in a city?! Ash thought as he looked at the battle and noticed that the one of the Aquarats was favoring its legs and he made a choice that he hoped wasn't a mistake.

"Pikachu Thunderwave there!" Ash said as he pointed at the Aquarats to the left of the wounded one. Pikachu's attack stunned the Chimera and Ash charged at the one with the wounded leg and as the five remaining Chimera that were still capable of movement. "Follow me!"

As the others followed Ash he broke through to the unpowered escalators and Ash and Pikachu stood aside as the others ran upwards until only he, May, Serena and their Pokemon remained.

"We need to go Ash!" Serena said as she spun her naginata and slew another of the Aquarats as a roar came from the collapsed tunnel. Ash sheathed his sword and grabbed May and Serena's hands and pulled them after him as their Pokemon followed as a final roar came from the tunnel as the rocks that had been blocking it flew away.

Clemont turned as Ash ran up with May, Serena and their Pokemon following and as he saw the look in Ash's eyes and grabbed Bonnie and Lilith and pulled them away from the subway entrance as Felicity followed them. No sooner than they were away from the area around the escalators then the ground exploded. As the dust drifted down Clemont swallowed as he saw a large twenty foot tall blue Chimera. It looked a little like a Aquarat, but its back legs were longer and it stood only on them, its front legs having become clawed hands. Its mouth had four fangs jutting out of it, two above and two below, a horn between its eyes. As it stood there and roared Clemont grasped his axes as he saw teen more of the normal Aquarats climb out of the hole the [Aquarat Rex] had created and charged at them! Before one of them could kill one of the people Ash was there, slice it in two as Pikachu jumped off him and sent a massive bolt of electricity into the charging Chimera, causing most of them to fall to the ground paralyized! As the Aquarat Rex snorted as it looked at Ash the others

"Keeping fighting, as long as your alive there's hope!" Ash called out as he blocked the strike of one of the other Chimera with his buckler. Lilith and Felictiy looked on in awe, no doubt in their minds that Ash was who they thought he was.

"Let's go Felicity, go Nidorina, Mandibuzz! Mandibuzz fire a flare, Nidorina Pin Missile at the hole! " Lilith called out as her Pokemon appeared. Mandibuzz flew up and started to fire Sunny Day attacks upwards, sending a ball of energy straight up and it exploded into a flare as the temperature around them climbed. Nidorina stood there as the spikes on her back glowed before firing energy bolts from them at the Aquarats, blanketing the area as the Aquarat Rex roared as

"Got it cousin! Roller lets fight!" As her Midday Lycanroc charged at the Chimera alongside Rocker it was all Felicicty could do not to transform and charge alongside them.

"Max stay back and protect Bonnie! Come out Snorlax, Vensuar!" May called as she her own Pokémon appeared as David, Kagero and their looked at the battle and the charging Chimera and moved to meet their charge as Bonnie and Max ran by them with the other civilins running beside them.

Serena looked around and gritted her teeth as she notice the limo the Atonina sisters used peeling away as down the road before she spun and bisected a lunging Aquarat. So she's still a coward, maybe

A patrol car moved through the destroyed buildings towards the sight where the Pokemon contest was and one of the occupants scoffed as he looked upwards out the passenger side window.

"What the heck are those idiots doing there, besides making a nuisance for us to stop?" The passenger grumbled as the drive laughed.

"Gotta admit though, letting guys show their stuff isn't too bad." The driver said as the passenger scoffed.

"Your just saying that because you like the showcase and you train your Pokémon to be inventive." The passenger said with a glare at the rearview mirror.

"Nothing wrong with thinking outside the box. I mean…..HOLY ARCEUS!" The drive snarled as the car a limo barreled by them, jerking the patrol car to the side as it passed them by. "CRAZED DRIVER! Hey did you get the license plate number?!"

The passenger looked at the limo driving away and cursed. "No, it must have been on the front, is the camera still busted?"

"Yeah, but what could have…." The drive trailed off as the car turned the corner and they saw the people running as the Aquarat Rex roared. "CHIMERA!"

"Hell! Dispactch this is car 506, Chimera attack at old industrial park at the failed subway! Moving to assist!" The passenger said into the car's radio as they drove closer and he started to fire at the Aquarat Rex.

Ash looked on as the two officers got out and fired at the Aquarat Rex and forced down the anger as they went textbook on a Chimera. Of course they would, you think a city that was attacked would have better training, and they're going to get themselves killed! Ash thought as he looked around and saw Clemont falling back as more of the normal Aquarats were coming out of the hole the Aquarat Rex had made. As David, Kagero and May defended the civilians Ash saw the three punks break down a wall with their Pokémon and ran away; going to get what he hoped was help. Ash sliced a lunging Aquarat and he swung up his buckler and winced as he felt a liquid hit it and saw the giant Chimera moving towards him, drops of the same black liquid falling from its fangs.

"Pikachu, bring the Thunder down on the big one!" Ash called out as he kept the liquid from touching his skin.

"PIIKKA!" Pikachu barked as a massive electric bolt was shot straight at the Aquarat Rex and the large Chimera screeched as the voltage hit it.

May looked at the battle and her eyes darted from her Snorlax as it bashed an Aquarat away and saw the two officers firing at the normal Aquarats and made a choice. "Snorlax charge Hyper Beam, more! Venusaur Frenzy Plant at the big one! Blazekin anything that tries to get by us, you burn it down!"

Her Pokémon roared their compliance and acted. Venausaur roared as her body glowed green and stomped the ground before plants burst out of the ground and shot at the Aquarat Rex and started to slam into it as it roared. Four of the Aquarats charged at May's position but Blazekin apeared among them and struck out it flaming fists and kicks that broke spines and backs before Blazekin jumped backwards, dodging a blast of the black liquid from the Aquarat Rex. Serena stared in awe as she stared at May as Fenniken stood in from of her trainer. Snorlax stood to May's side, it's mouth opening and a sucking sound coming as from it as it gathered its energy.

"We're going to be that strong one day Fenniken, whatever happens we will be strong." Serena whispered and Felictiy spared a glance at her before grinning. Good, I thought she had a spark, I wonder if that's because of the link…think about it later. Felicity thought as she saw five Aquarats charge at her.

"Roller, Rock Tomb those Chimera, I want them funneled towards us, Rocker get ready to take'em down!" Felicity said. Her Pokémon before Roller reared up on its hindlegs slamming its forelegs down and giant rocks burst from the ground and formed a wall in front of the Aquarats with a single opening that Rocker appeared at and when the Chimera lunged at Rocker, they were met with glowing fists and kicks as Rocker defended his trainer.

Clements sliced the head off an Aquarat that tried to get by him an Bunnelby and he panted as he looked on as the Aquarat Rex tanked attacks from Lilith's Nidorina as a steady stream of Aquarats came from between its legs and he cursed as he backed up as Buunelby followed him, keeping his eyes on the giant Chimera

"Now Venausuar, Grass Knot, keep it up until it can't move!" May's voice caused Clemont to look towards her as her Venausuar's eyes glowed green and vines shot out of the ground around the Aquarat Rex and bound it in place, more eurrptiong from the ground as the Aquarat Rex tied to break free.

May looked at the large Chimera and grinned. Perfect, I just hope this works right. May thought as she saw Snorlax closed its mouth stared at the big Chimera. "Now Snorlax, fire Hyper Beam, at its heart!"

Snorlax's mouth dropped open and a large orange beam shot at the Aquarat Rex, it surged to the right and broke the vines hold on it but not before the beam reached it, hitting its upper right chest, blowing off its arm and it stood there a few seconds, it's black blood gushing out of it's the wound. May laughed and looked at the other Chimera, but paled as she saw that they were just staring at the collapsed Chimera.

"Why are they just standing there?" Serena asked, causing the others to look and see the smaller Aquarats standing there growling as they stood between them and the corpse of the Aquarat Rex. Ash stared, paling as he saw the wound had scabbed over.

"Please don't be that, please!" Ash whispered as Pikachu stood next to him and his checks sparked as they watched the Aquarat Rex suddenly get back up and rear its head back

"ROOOAR!" As the roar echoed Aquarat Rex stood there as the smaller Chimera answered with their own roars as their leader's left side and shoulder which started to bubble and heal and an arm started to grow back as it looked at them with rage in its eyes.

"How, what's happening to it?!" Serena asked as her weapon

"It's a regenerator, perfect! Get ready, this is going to be a long fight!" Ash said as he prepared to do what he had to do. I have to make sure they all survive, I have to! If there's a way to do this I have to find it! Ash thought as he unconsciously reached for his aura but only the seal on his back stopping him from reaching it, releasing a small pulse that only the Chimera and Aura users could feel.

Lilith and Felicity looked at Ash with a shocked expression for a second, but thankfully none of their friends noticed before they schooled their features and looked at the Aquarat Rex and

Suddenly an arrow hit the Aquarat Rex's right eye dead center, everyone watching staring before the arrow exploded, taking out the right side of the Chimera's head. As the body fell to the ground the other Aquarats screeched and started to attack each other, the monstrosity's killing each other in moments as the people could only watch.

"What the….why did they?" Serena asked as she stared at the corpeses in shock. Eve reached over and squeezed her shoulder, causing her to look at the older woman.

"Sometimes when the leader of a swarm is killed the remaining Chimera go…..wild for lack of a better term. That's why the basic training is usually to hit the strongest one first for….this." Eve said somberly as they looked over the field of corpses as sirens caused them to turn to the road and they saw

"Come on guys, lets go. They'll probably going to want to look us over." Felicity said as she looked at the road and saw busses and police cars pull up.

Ash looked around and noticed movement on top of one of the abandoned buildings in the direction the arrow had come from. Ash watched the rooftop as the door he had saw close and debated what to do next before he looked around and let out a sigh and sheathed his sword and walked towards his friends, noticing that Clemont had his mouth dropped open and was staring at the dead Aquarat Rex in total shock, looking about he saw Max who gave him a thumbs up and gestured to Bonnie who was looking anywhere but at the corpse. As the others recalled their Pokémon Ash finally made it to them and looked at Clemont.

"So I'm guessing you didn't think whoever did that had could do it?" Ash said, finally getting Clemont to shake his head.

"NO! How could anything that small cause an explosion, I mean that was! and the Chimera, how did it even do that thing with its arm!" Clemont said as he panted as trucks and busses rolled into the area and police moved towards the dead Chimera as Ash looked around and sighed before Felicity broke in.

"Not as uncommon as you'd think, but let's go and get Bonnie and Max away from here, I don't trust even dead Chimera."

As the emergence crews set about getting the people away from the area, they never noticed Meowth wearing a headset as he sat on a nearby building watching Ash and his friends as they were ushered towards a bus to carry them to one of the town hospitals. "Feliner to control, I have eyes on targets, but there's a problem. Dead Giant Chimera positive, but I don't think it was the creator. Targets are heading back to town with emergency services…..Hold, got eyes on watchers at edge of zone." Meowth said as he noticed a round shadow poking out of a broken window farther down and scowled.

"They doing anything but watching chum?" James asked over the radio as Meowth looked at the window and saw the circle moving back in and sighed.

"Negavitive, I'll follow the twerps and let you know if anything else happens, going dark." Meowth said as he turned off his headset and saw the bus that Ash and the others were on moved closer to the building he was on and he jumped and landed on it, content to let it carry him closer to the hospital.
