Chapter 22

Small, innocent eyes opened to a happy perfect world. Little Rin sat up quickly and threw her blanket off herself. Running to her bedroom door she was met with her temporary caretaker, Ami. "Hello little Rin, I see you're awake. I was about to come see if you had gotten up yet." the fox servant said kindly. "Is Rin's mama and papa going to see Rin soon?" the little girl asked right away before saying her greeting. Ami bent down and scooped up the small child. "I'm afraid I do not know yet, Rin though I believe it should be any day now." Ami answered while setting the child down behind the changing screen and picking out a yukata for her for the day then dressing her. "Rin misses mama and papa." pouted the five year old girl. "I know Rin, you will see them soon though." comforted the fox demoness. "Now how about we get dressed, go and get our morning meal then play in the gardens all day. How does that sound?" asked Ami, trying to cheer the poor girl up. "Yay!" screamed Rin, forgetting all her sadness from moments ago. Ami smiled and went after the little girl as she darted down the hall to the kitchens.
*With Sesshomaru*
Pink mist surrounded our young lord as he walked along a narrow stone path. "It would seem this one has been taken into another realm." Thought Sesshomaru to himself as he roamed. Either side of the trail was a drop off into what seemed like nothing. Sesshomaru was unsure of his location but believed it to be the same place his mate was sent to according to her description. Sesshomaru walked for some time until he came upon a grassy hill with his sword protruding out of it. Futari no ken thrummed a beat that he knew very well. It was the beat of the heart of his Kagome. The demon lord neared his sword and gripped it, pulling it from the dirt. Gusts of strong winds flew at the lord with the removal of the weapon, making him jump back out of the way.
In place of the sword previously in the ground now stood the Goddess Amaterasu in a haze of pink and purple mist. "Hello, Sesshomaru sama." Said demon bowed his head in greeting. "My, what a greeting I never expected the great daiyoukai of the west to bow to anyone, I am flattered." Giggled the Goddess as she fanned herself with an uchiwa. "Hn." Replied Sesshomaru. "To what do I owe this visit?" He asked politely, while sheathing his sword. "I have important information that I needed to pass along. Come, won't you join me for tea whilst I explain?" Asked Amaterasu. Sesshomaru said nothing, just followed behind the deity.
A path of flower enclosed stones appeared instantly as the Divine walked. When she stopped she waved her hand and immediately a stone table and cushions appeared from the void along with a pot of steaming tea and two yunomi already filled to its acceptable limit. "Please have a seat,'' said the Goddess, already folded into a seiza and sipping her tea. Sesshomaru sat and started to savor one of the best cups of tea he had ever had when the deity began to speak.
"Lord Sesshomaru, it would seem you are now mated and in love with my daughter, is this true?" Amaterasu asked seriously. "Yes." Answered Sesshomaru as he sat down his cup. "I am glad, she deserves happiness. You will give this to her for the rest of your days, yes?" The sun Goddess asked sternly. "Until my last breath and into my next life." Sesshomaru swore. "Good, now then. What do you know of Inuyasha's whereabouts?" The Goddess asked. "I have spy's looking for my half brother though they have not successfully found him yet." Replied the young lord. "That will change soon. What do you know of the traitor in your home?" Asked the goddess. Growling, Sesshomaru spoke harshly in response, "This one has no traitors in my domain."
"I am sorry to say that you do, be cautious. That is all I can say. As far as other warnings I will say there is another, a demoness, keep a weather eye. She means harm to my daughter." Spoke a now angry Goddess, as purple energy cracked around her. "Consider it done." Declared Sesshomaru. "Furthermore, your mate will become pupped soon. You must be cautious, for your pups will be strong and need much of your mate's strength to grow. She will be vulnerable at this time and will need you most at this point." Finished the sun deity. "I understand." Sesshomaru expressed seriously, worrying for his mate and soon to be pup. "You also need to know there is an evil coming, one Naraku could hold no candle to. You must prepare yourself and my daughter." Goddess Ametarasu began fading into space as she spoke one final piece of advice. "It is time for you to awaken now, your mate awaits you. Remember, take care in who you trust and protect my daughter. She will do great things." Sesshomaru watched the great being fade completely and was now alone and left with his own thoughts. The great lord started to feel heavy like he was awakening from a deep sleep. The previously pink mist turned a dark gray then black color which felt welcoming to the demon so he allowed his body to be consumed by the darkness.
Sesshomaru's eyes opened immediately then looked to his mate, reassuring she was safe. The Goddess gave him much to think about, but for now he would allow himself one more morning with his mate until they rejoined the world once more.

Sesshomaru woke with a strong need to taste his female, despite the recent news he needed to have his mate. Just for a little longer, then he could deal with all he was told. The mikos nails scratched along her mate's back as he pistoned into her. Sesshomaru gripped Kagome's thighs drawing the tiniest drop of blood under each claw. Kagome moaned at the pain mixed with the intense pleasure. Reaching up, Kagome grabbed Sesshomaru's hair and yanked his mouth to hers. The couple devoured each other's mouths until Sesshomaru ripped himself away to suck on her neck. Kagome moaned at the contact, wrapping her heavy arms around her mate's neck and nuzzling his shoulder. "Sess, I love you." Kagome said affectionately after a few moments of comfortable silence. "And I you," replied the stoic lord.
The couple laid in each other's arms as they watched the sunrise, greeting the new day with complete happiness in their hearts. "The Goddess Amaterasu visited this one in a dream this last night." Sesshomaru spoke thoughtfully. "Really?" Kagome asked surprisedly. "Hn, she informed this Sesshomaru of dangers to come and important information pertinent to your survival." Sesshomaru replied seriously. "That is all I will say on the matter." Kagome just nodded, deciding not to argue with her mate noting how solemn he seemed on the subject.
"Come we will bathe and dress, we must return from our "honeymoon", Rin is becoming distressed at our absence and I must attend to my lordly duties." Said the lord as he scooped up his mate and walked in the direction of the spring.
