Chapter 24

Seated beneath a midnight blanket of silver stars and a full moon, eyes sealed to the night, the newly mated couple Sesshomaru and Kagome enjoyed each other's company in a contented silence. If the moon had eyes it would see Kagome sitting cross legged atop Sesshomaru's lap, Kagome holding onto his moko-moko and arms while Sesshomaru's chin rested on Kagome's head. The two have been mated for a month now and could barely be apart from each other.
"Sess?" Kagome asked softly. "Yes koi?" Sesshomaru replied. "Can we marry like humans do?" The woman asked. "The ceremony that unites two human's similar to two demons mating?" Sesshomaru confirmed. "Yes, I would like to have a small ceremony with my family of this era, I will miss not having my family of my time there but if I live to see that time again we can always renew our vows." Kagome said. "If that is what you want then it will be done." The lord replied while toying with Kagome's hair. "I would like to have it in the slayer village. Nothing big, just Sango, Miroku, Shippo, Kirara, Keade, and then our pack of course." Kagome said as she listed each person off on her fingers. "Hn, when would you like for this ceremony to take place?" Sesshomaru inquired. "Well, I was thinking we could leave in a week's time, that should give me enough time to prepare." Kagome said happily. "Consider it done." Sesshomaru said while kissing his mate's cheek. "Oh thank you Sess," Kagome said excitedly, while turning around in Sesshomaru's lap. "I'll start plans with Ami tomorrow. Can you have a message sent to Sango and Keade?" Sesshomaru hn'd and the two became quiet again.
They sat in comfortable silence for a few more moments until Kagome spoke again. "Sessho?" Chuckling, Sesshomaru replied. "Yes Kagome?" "Do you ever miss walking together? We traveled so much, I miss our walks. I'm surprised how much I miss just walking and talking with you." Kagome said absentmindedly. Instead of replying, Sesshomaru stood with Kagome in his arms then set her on her feet. Looking confused at him, Kagome was about to ask what he was doing when Sesshomaru took her hand and began to walk a trail into the woods near where they previously sat. Kagome smiled the entire walk, both conversing about this and that. The miko felt that she couldn't possibly be happier.
When the sun rose from a full night's rest, Kagome opened her eyes to see her still sleeping mate. She was sure to keep completely still for it was rare that she woke first and was lucky enough to see the killing perfection so peacefully. Taking a moment to soak up the moment, Kagome finally decided she was going to wake up her man.

Lifting the sheets and very carefully crawling down the side of her naked mate's body she reached his manhood and gingerly grabbed a hold of his shaft at the same moment she liked her lips and popped her handful into her lips. At the sound of a growl from the top of the bed and the furs being ripped away Kagome hummed and took him into her mouth deeper. Claws dug into her scalp and pulled at her hair as she began rotating her grip on him and sucking harder. Slowing and quickening, Kagome worked him until his toes cracked and he growled loudly.
Kagome was suddenly yanked up and on top of Sesshomaru where he positioned her on top of himself perfectly. Not needing anymore guidance Kagome sank herself completely onto him, impaling herself. Crying out at the sudden fullness Kagome moaned loudly. After a few bounces atop of him Kagome panted frustratedly. "Sessho, I can't get..enough." Kagome was flipped onto her stomach so quickly she almost felt dizzy. There was a brief absence inside her then all of a sudden she was so full she screamed at the top of her lungs. Sesshomaru growled as he rammed into her. Kagome felt herself climbing a mountain and quickly reaching the top. "So..close." Kagome breathed heavily. "Come." Sesshomaru growled. That was all she needed as she tumbled into an orgasm that had her seeing nirvana. "SESSHOMARU!" Kagome screamed as she rode out her orgasm while said demon pumped into her twice more then roared out his own release.

Both lovers collapsed onto the bed, Sesshomaru making sure he rolled to the side so he did not crush his mate while pulling her to his chest. Both of them laid there while they caught their breath. "Good morning." Kagome mumbled exhaustedly. "That it is." Sesshomaru replied, kissing Kagome's forehead. "Can we stay here forever?" Kagome asked dreamily. Chuckling, Sesshomaru pulled his mate to the edge of his futon then picked her up and walked to the spring connected to their room. "Though I would love nothing more, it is time we start our day, Rin will be up soon." Kagome hummed into his chest as he slowly waded into the warm water.
Both took turns washing each other as was custom to their routine as of late. When they finished their morning bath, Kagome picked out their outfits for the day, dressed, then left their quarters together. The young parents were met with a squeal and tiny arms wrapping around one of each of their legs. "Mama, Papa!" Rin yelled. "Good morning my love." Kagome greeted the child as she picked her up. "Did you sleep well Rin?" Lord Sesshomaru asked. "Mhmm, Rin dreamed of big white dogs and a princess." Rin explained as she went on for some time about the tail. "Alright girly why don't you go get dressed and we'll have our breakfast then start our day, okay?" The mother of the overly excited child said. "Okay mama." Rin said while jumping out of the arms that held her then ran to her nanny that waited nearby.
Later that evening, Kagome laid, with her head on Sesshomaru's thigh while she read a book and her lord looked through scrolls. A commotion outside in a nearby courtyard had the couple standing to go and find out what was going on. "Fools, just go and ask them and they will tell you. I am an ally and mean no harm." Said a familiar voice. The Lord and Lady entered the noisy area where every demon but one fell to their knees in bows. One guard nearest them apologized for the disquiet. "My apologies My Lord and Lady, we were just disposing of this demoness who dared invade your home uninvited. "Kagura." Kagome said surprisedly. "Leave us." Sesshomaru directed at his guards. The courtyard emptied quickly, all but three remaining. "What is your purpose for barging into my shiro uninvited." The lord demanded. It was silent for sometime before a soft voice said. "It would seem freedom is overrated when you are alone." Kagura replied while looking into the graying skies. "So you chose to jeopardize your freedom by showing up unasked." Sesshomaru growled unfazed by the depressed woman.
Kagome worried her fingers together looking between the two demons. "Kagura, what is it you need from us?" Kagome asked kindly, while trying to lighten the mood. "I have come to apologize." Kagura said while bending down onto one knee. "I have wronged you, though not but my own choice. I would like to apologize to both of you as well as the child I was forced to take from you." Kagome gasped at Kagura's confession. "I would be most grateful if you would accept my apologies and friendship." Kagura said as she looked up with a smile. Kagome beamed, "Of course I accept, Sesshomaru?" Asked Kagome. After a few moments of looking into the eyes of the wind witch, the lord spoke. "If my daughter will forgive then this one will accept your alliance." Kagome beamed and ran to get her daughter, happy to have the chance to have one less enemy and one more friend. A few minutes later she returned carrying the small girl. Kagome explained everything then gently placed Rin on her feet a few yards away from her abductor. "It is your decision." Kagome said softly.
Rin studied the face of the demoness that kneeled before her. "Rin, I would like to apologize for taking you from your parents. I was forced to by the evil demon Naraku, and would have never done so of my own free will. Would you forgive me?" Kagura asked, eyes never leaving the ground during her apology. The little girl slowly walked over to the demoness and tapped her shoulder. When Kagura looked up Rin looked her in the eyes for a moment then hugged her strongly. "Rin forgives you Miss Kagura." The little girl said sweetly. Kagura looked shocked for a moment then patted the young girl's head when she released her. "Thank you Rin." Kagura said with a small smile. "I hope we can be friends." Rin looked to her mother who nodded. Rin beamed at the wind demoness then said excitedly. "Rin would love for you to be her friend." Kagome clapped her hands together then said, "Well that's that, Kagura would you like to join us for our evening meal?" Kagura smiled, "Thank you Lady Kagome, I would like that." Rin took the woman's hand and followed her mother and father inside towing her new friend along behind her.
Kagome, her pack and her new friend all sat at the dining table and drank tea. She noticed Rin's eyes drooping and head bobbing, so she called to the nanny waiting nearby. "But Rin is not sleepy, momma." The tired girl mumbled. "Yes you are dear, now go along with your nanny and I will be by later to give you a kiss goodnight." Rin nodded and followed her nanny who steered her out of the room by her hand. Kagome and the others had been talking for quite some time and she hadn't realized how late it had gotten. "Kagura, do you have somewhere to stay tonight?" Kagome asked. "No Lady Kagome, but I'll find a nice cave for the time being." Kagura replied as she drank more of her tea. "I insist you stay, if it is alright with Lord Sesshomaru." Kagome said, looking at her mate. "Hn, when you are ready to retire for the evening koi, I will be in my study." Sesshomaru spoke as he rose from his seat and swiftly left the room.
"Really, you don't have to do this, Kagome," Kagura said as the two walked alone to the northern wing. "It's no trouble Kagura, I would feel awful if you had to sleep in a cold cave while Sesshomaru and I have so many rooms to spare. That's what friends are for right?" Kagome asked while looping her arm through the demoness'. Kagura smiled, and the two chatted about this and that when they arrived at a wooden door. "I'll just get our housekeeper to see to a room for you, all of the chambermaids have gone to their own quarters." Kagome said with a smile as she knocked on the heavy study door then opened it. "Hibiki, I need a room for a friend and the other maids are"- Kagome was cut off by the clash of several scrolls being thrown to the floor. "I do not take orders from you, human. Do not dare interrupt me again." The angry demon roared then slammed his screen door shut in her face.
Kagura whipped out her fan and grabbed for the door. "Wait Kagura, it's alright, he's just having a lot of trouble getting used to me. Come on, I'll just show you to a room and help you myself."Kagome begged, pulling on the wrist of her friend. Kagura allowed herself to be moved and followed the miko down the hall. "Kagome you cannot let him treat you that way! You're his lady, you must tell Sesshomaru." Kagura insisted. "No it's alright, I don't want to be the Lady who needs all of her battles fought for her. I can handle it. It will just take some time." Kagome reassured as she opened a door at the end of the hall they were now in. Inside Kagome showed Kagura where all of the things she would need for her stay would be. "Well I think that's everything, oh, the bathing house is right outside this door. I'm afraid it's a shared bathing house but it will have to do." Kagura smiled and thanked the kind woman. "I'll see you in the morning then, let me or any of the maids know if you need anything, goodnight Kagura." Kagome said, opening the door and making her way out. "Kagome? Thank you." The wind demoness said with a smile and a bow. "You're welcome Kagura, I'm glad to have you as a friend."
Kagome was making her way to the family wing when someone grabbed her shoulder and abruptly turned her around. "Hibiki, is there a problem?" Kagome asked, startled. "You. You are a whore and have no right in this palace. You should leave before something happens to you." The wrathful demon spoke then quickly turned and disappeared around a corner. Kagome stood shocked for a moment then grew very angry. "I'm not going anywhere." Kagome said to herself then stalked off towards her daughter's room. Sliding the door open Kagome was greeted with a picture of comedy. Rin was surrounded by almost a dozen stuffed animals all around her head. "Well my sweet I almost didn't see you in that pile." Kagome laughed as she moved a few away and bent to kiss her child's head. "Mama, we are having a sleepover." Rin giggled. "Well you all have sweet dreams, I'll see you in the morning okay?" Kagome said as she blew out the candle by the door. "Goodnight mama." Rin yelled full of giggles. Kagome laughed softly as she left the room and headed for her mate.
"My mate." Kagome said, arriving in his study as she threw herself into his lap. Sesshomaru began kissing along Kagome's jaw, "what ails you?" Her mate asked sultry. "Mmm I need you and a bath and I'm not sure which I need first." Kagome spoke as she weaved her fingers through her mate's silky hair. "Then I will take you against your favorite waterfall." Sesshomaru growled as he scooped her up and flew out of the open window and into the cover of night.
