Prologue
In a dark forest outside of Las Vista, a shadowy figure sprints through the forest with the sounds of wolves howling from behind, the figure being a young child with unnaturally yellow eyes and long spiky black hair that went down his back, he wore a black shirt and shorts and a pair of old sneakers that have been dirtied and worn out from the surface. He held scraps of food and drinks in his arms as he ran through the forest with terrified eyes as the howls got louder and louder before the boy tripped over a rock and dropped the food, attempting to grab them before a howl sounded close, the boy giving a wanting glance at the food before turning to run, jumping down a ledge to cower behind as multiple animalistic shadows ran past him, sprinting down the path he was on before dispersing into the bushes. The boy peeking his head out to see if the close was clear before climbing up the ledge and ran the opposite before colliding into something that knocked him to the ground, the boy looking up in terror as a figure loomed over him with a pair of glaring purple eyes and white fangs that glinted in the moonlight. The Wolf approaching the boy as he cowers in fear, the boy's eyes slowly glowing a bright blue before the forest was illuminated by an intense whitish-blue light that was followed by the sounds of the wolf crying out in pain until it faded, the boy seen running away as blue embers on the ground formed the words 'KIPO'.
Chapter 1: Where's Mandu?
On the ruined streets of Las Vista, a small group of teens, a bug and a pig make their way through the wrecked suburb, each one pointlessly checking each building for any signs of a burrow.
"Where could it be?" Kipo searched franticly, running from building to building.
"Kipo, were not going to find the burrow like this." Wolf claimed as the group watched Kipo anxiously checking along the street, going from one building to another.
"Wolf's right, we not going to get anywhere by searching every building in Las Vista." Benson agreed, "Did your dad mention anything about his old burrow that could help us?"
"Not really, he never really talked about it." Kipo hummed in thought, trying to think of something that could help them before Mandu started sniffing the air, her eyes sparkling at the smell of a familiar scent, rushing off down the street without warning, "Mandu!" Kipo shouted, the group running after her before she disappeared around a corner and out of sight.
Mandu racing down the empty streets before skidding to a stop, starring at a single cheese puff that laid in the middle of the road, Mandu's eyes sparkling with joy before she leapt through the air and snatched the cheese puff into her mouth, happily munching on it before noting another puff a little further down the street and then another, Mandu following the trail of cheese puffs through the streets and to a bush on the outskirt of the district, Mandu leaning closer to the bush before a pair of blue eyes started glowing from inside the shrub, Mandu squealing in fright as she tries to run away only to be snatched up and pulled into the bush just as Kipo and the others arrived from around the corner to look for her.
"Where did she go?" Kipo questioned, "I could have sworn she came this way?"
"That pig must have run off further down the street." Dave huffed, crossing his four arms.
"Let's go look for her." Wolf sighed, the group continuing down the road and completely oblivious to the glowing eyes staring at them from the bush before it faded into the darkness.
The group now searching for their missing friend as Dave searched a trash can, the unaware of the figure darting past him before hearing someone chuckle, turning around to see nothing.
"Mandu?" Dave said nervously as he slowly walked towards the direction of the sound, seeing something in a store window run past him in the corner of his, Dave cautiously walking inside to see Mandu hogtied on the ground with her snout bounded with ribbons, "Mandu! There you are, where have you been?!" Dave scolded, somehow oblivious to Mandu's situation, "And why are you tied up?!" Dave finally noticed before a figure raise from behind him and talked him to the ground with Dave squealing as he was hogtied and gagged as well, Mandu giving him a look as she rolled her eyes at his stupidity. Outside, the others continue to search for Mandu while shouting her name, Wolf, however, was beginning to feel uneasy.
"Somethings not right." Wolf said, "Mandu should have been back by now, and where is Dave?"
"Oh, yeah. Where'd he run off too?" Benson questioned, searing around for his friend.
"I saw him checking the trash cans earlier." Kipo noted before spotting a figure peeking from around a corner, "Hey!" Kipo yelled, Benson and Wolf turning just as the figure disappeared.
"What?" Wolf asked.
"There was a person!" Kipo stated.
"I don't see any-Whoa!" Benson suddenly cried out as he stepped into a snare trap as the rope tied around his ankle and threw him into the air.
"Benson!" Kipo shouted, her and Wolf rushing over to him.
"I'm fine." He assured, attempting to get himself down with no luck, "But can one of you get me down?" he asked before Wolf cut the rope with her staff, dropping Benson on his head.
"Sorry." Wolf apologized before seeing the figure dart across the street, "Over there!" she exclaimed as the three of them give chase, Kipo seeing the figure run from behind them.
"No, over there!" Kipo called out, pointing her finger in the direction of the figure.
"No, there!" Benson yelled, pointing towards a figure that ducked behind a corner, "Or they're where there."
"Their messing with us!" Wolf sneered, seeing the figure in the corner of her eye and runs after them.
"Wolf, wait!" Kipo shouted but Wolf had already disappeared, Kipo going after her before hearing Benson yelp, turning back to see he was gone, "Benson?!" Kipo fretted as she was left alone, standing in the middle of the street, "Enough!" Kipo growled, her eyes changing into pink cat-like slits as she grows massive pink paws, Kipo bolting into a sprint as she searches the streets for her friends and the figure who's attacking them.
Kipo perching herself on top of a building before her ears and nose shifts into a Jaguars as she sniffs the air, picking up a familiar scent as she leaps back onto the ground and races through streets to a group of shrubs that blocked a building's entrance, Kipo cautiously separating them with her paws, only to find her friends tied together and gagged with Mandu and Dave hogtied next to them.
"Guys!" Kipo exclaimed, rushing over to them and cutting their bindings, "Who did this?!"
"We don't know, they were too fast." Benson stated before the group heard chuckling from behind a bush, the group exchanging looks with one another before slowly approaching the laughing bush, separating the shrubs to find a small child sitting behind it, the boy gasping in fear the moment he was discovered as he crawled away from Kipo and the others.
"A kid?!" The group gasp.
"Ahh!" The kid screamed, franticly backing away into a corner.
"AHHH!" Dave screamed back as he moulted in super Dave
"AAHHH!" The kid screamed at Dave's sudden moulting and scream as everyone glares at Dave.
"….What?"
Author note:
This and part of the next chapter will be my own but afterwards, the chapters will be based on the tv show but with slight changes. Know that I might be skipping some episodes but I haven't decided this but the bat scene and the end monster fight will happen and I have a surprise for the end as well as an Easter egg for the Godzilla fans but that will be later in the story. (Around when Kipo meets the evil Doc.)
