Misty's Controversies
Tom: We're almost up to 20 episodes. Let's hope we can keep it moving.
Sara: As we do continue with Heroic Heart and Super Soul. There's so much we're going to miss about the Pokémon anime.
Tom: I do like how they're going to be continuing on with a new main character. There's more they could've done, but there's too much detailing with that. For right now, are we ready, Sara?
Sara: We're now receiving the live broadcast. Alright, Tom. We're ready.
Tom: I love this job. (He hits the touchscreen buttons.)

A few hours have passed on by since Ash and Misty started for Silver Town. They both were gradually getting closer, but something was pulling at Ash. He looked over to the girl he loved, wanting to ask her something very important, and didn't even know if he even had the courage to even ask her out. He saw Silver Town come up and this was heart wrenching for him to ask her out on a date. He didn't know if she was seeing anyone or if she was interested in him.
Misty saw the town come into view and she smiled at the sight. "Silver Town is coming up. You ready to see everyone, Ash?" she asked.
"Y-yeah. Definitely am." He replied as he scratched the back of his head a bit nervously. 'Okay, Ash. This is your chance. Just ask her out on a date. It's not that hard. Just a small step in your relationship with her.' He told himself.
Misty sensed something was up with him and she looked at him. "You okay?" she asked a bit concerned.
"Y-yeah. J-just something on my mind is all." He told her.
"What is it?" she asked him.
He took in a deep breath as they stopped. 'Here goes. Just ask her.' He told himself. "I-I was wondering if you'd like to…ummm…if you'd like to...ummm..." He was trying to ask but couldn't find the words. 'Come on, Ash. You can do this. Just ask her out on a date. It's not that hard. You've won the other Leagues. How is this more difficult!' he told himself.
Misty noticed his pause. "Yes? You're wondering if I'd like to do what?" Misty asked him. 'If you're asking me out on a date, then just ask me. I'll say yes.' Misty thought to herself.
"Umm…I was wondering if you would like to…uuhhh…I'm just trying to ask if you would uuhhh." Ash kept on saying. 'Come on! You can do this.' He told himself. "W-w-would you like to go ou-ou-outtt on a…uuhhh." He kept on stuttering.
She giggled at him, knowing what he was trying to ask. 'Close enough.' She thought, knowing he needed some help. "If you're asking me out on a date, I'd be more than happy." She told him.
Ash gave off a defeated sigh, thinking she declined him. "I understand that if you don't want to…wait! What?" he questioned.
She looked to him with a smile. "I'm saying yes. I'll be happy to go on a date with you." She told him as she kissed his cheek. "We'll go out on a date once we get to Silver Town. We'll have lunch." She told him as she took his arm wrapping both her arms around his. She laid her head on his shoulder, smiling still. 'Finally. He asked me out on a date. Kind of.' She thought to herself with a small giggle.
Pikachu patted Ash's head. "Pika pika, Pikapi. (Nice job, Ash.)" Pikachu complimented.
"Thanks buddy. I just hope I don't blow it." He told Pikachu.
"Pika pika pikachu pi. (I know you won't.)" he told Ash, knowing how his trainer is about her.
It didn't take them long until they got to Silver Town. Misty lifted her head, and they looked around the town. Ash saw there were some changes that were made to the town since they were last there. It looked city-esque though. It didn't matter to him, especially since he got a date with Misty.
They looked around for a place they could have lunch. Misty still held onto Ash's arm, not knowing where a good place to eat was. After a bit of looking Ash spotted a place.
"Hey, Misty. Look over there." He told her. She and Pikachu looked in the direction he was facing, and it was a small restaurant with outside seating. "What do ya think?" he asked her.
"Looks good. Let's try it out." She replied to him. They both went over and a man was standing there, waiting to seat anyone.
"How may I help you two?" he asked in a kind professional manner.
"We'd like a table for two please." Ash requested.
"Most certainly. Inside or outside?" he asked.
"We'll be eating outside." Misty told him as she looked at up Ash and he her. "A great atmosphere for our first date." She told Ash.
"I was thinking the same thing." He told her smiling with his eyes closed.
"I'd say that we were reading off each other's mind." She said, a tad bit sarcastically.
"Pika pika pi pika. Pikachu pi pika (Knowing how you two are. Wouldn't surprise me.)" Pikachu stated with a bit of sarcasm.
The man grabbed up two menus and seated them at a table. "Your waiter or waitress will be here shortly." He informed them.
As they waited Ash and Misty looked at the menu. Ash peeked at Misty as he did, and she was skimming over the menu still.
"Did you find anything?" he asked her.
"I might have the chicken fingers. What about you?" Misty asked.
"I'll have a cheeseburger." He told her.
"Glad you both know what you want." Someone said. They looked at saw a waitress as she wrote down their stuff. "What to drink. I'm guessing tea." She said to them. They both nodded, a bit in shock. "I know, it's pretty weird; but I have a knack for this stuff." She told them. "Also, some chow for your Pikachu." She told them as she went in to place the order.
"I didn't even hear or see her come up." Ash commented.
"I didn't either. Must be pretty good at this job, or any other job she's had." Misty commented as well. She looked back to Ash, wondering something. "So then, what made you want to ask me out on a date?" she asked.
"W-well you see…I-I had just begun to think about it. I wasn't for sure if I should ask or not." He told her.
She smiled at him. "You definitely seemed very nervous about asking me, though." She remarked.
"Well, this is my first time." He told her as he rubbed the back of his head shyly with his eyes closed.
This surprised Misty. She thought he would've asked May out on a date in Hoenn or here in Kanto. "You mean to tell me that you never asked any other girl out on a date?" she asked.
"Nope. You're the only one I've ever asked out." He told her.
Her heart felt as if it skipped a few beats when he said this, and she about reached out to touch his hand to reveal her feelings for him until their food came.
"The food and drinks for the happy couple are here." The waitress told them. They looked at her and blushed as she said that but didn't say anything. She gave Ash his cheeseburger with fries and Misty her chicken tenders with fries along with their tea. "Enjoy." She told them before she departed.
"Well, let's dig in." he told Misty.
"Right!" she replied.
They began to eat their food and they were really enjoying it. Ash took some big bites of his cheeseburger while Misty took bites of her chicken tenders. As they enjoyed their meal, a waiter came up and set down Pikachu's bowl of Pokémon food.
"Food for the Pikachu and my number for the…ow ow ow…" he said as his ear was being pulled by the same waitress.
"I knew I shouldn't have let you deliver the Pikachu's food. Can't you see they're on a date!" she told him sternly as she dragged him away. Not long after that she came back. "My apologies for him. He likes to hit on just about any girl who comes here." She informs them.
"Oh, that's alright." Misty told her as she waved her hand up and down.
"No harm done." Ash reassured the waitress.
"Thank you. Still. My apologies." She told them before she headed off.
"I guess you've had some guys fall for you before, huh!" Ash said sarcastically. Misty gave off a small laugh, yet she was hoping he wouldn't find out about what had happened a while back.
They resumed eating. As they did, Misty was in a bit of thought and knew she needed say something. She looked to him as he took another bite of his burger. "Uh, Ash?" she requested. He stopped chewing and looked at her. "What you were trying to ask earlier. If I wanted to go on a date with you." She told him.
He finished chewing and swallowed. "Yeah! What about it?" he asked, curious as to where she was going as he put his burger down.
She reached over and took his hand. "If you do want to go on a date with me. Just ask. Don't be nervous." She told him.
"B-but I thought you were seeing another guy." He told her, looking very surprised.
She shook her head. "I'm not seeing anyone. You're the first guy I went out on a date with." She told him.
"R-really? I'm the first guy?" He questioned in disbelief.
"Yep. You're the first guy I'm on a date with." She told him.
"Pika! Pi pikachu! (Yes! I knew it!)" Pikachu stated. They looked down at him as he gave off a smile to them, paws on his hips.
Ash gave off a small laugh. "I guess he knew more than I did." He told Misty.
"Pokémon normally do know more than their trainer." Misty teased.
"Oh ha ha." Ash retorted to her. From there, they finished their lunch and paid the bill; Ash being the one who paid for the whole thing.
"Y-you sure?" Misty asked as they began to leave.
"Of course, I am. This is a date after all. Isn't the guy supposed to pay for the meal?" he stated.
"Who knew I was dating such a gentleman." Misty teased. Ash rolled his eyes as he smiled. She took his arm again. "Let's continue our date." She told him.
"You want to continue our date?" he asked, not knowing they could do that.
"Yep. I want to continue for a bit longer. What would you like to do?" she asked.
"I'm not for sure. I was about to ask you the same question." He told her until he saw an ice-cream stand not too far ahead. This gave him an idea. "Wait here, Mist. I think I got something." He told her, wanting to make it a surprise as he ran off.
She giggled as he did, not knowing what he had planned; but gave off a dreamily sigh. "Oh, Ash. Please be mine." She said to herself as she placed her hands over her heart, knowing it was pounding.
She didn't know this though. Someone came up behind her and smiled at her. "Well, hello Misty." A boy said. She heard him and gave off a light gasp. Knowing that voice, she turned around and looked at where the voice came from. Right behind her was an old friend of hers.
He had dirty-blonde hair, hazel eyes, a white shirt with a black dragon on it, a blue short sleeved jacket over it. He had on light blue jeans and black shoes with white soles that finished off his look.
Misty knew who he was and backed away slightly. "Z-Z-Zack?!" she questioned; a bit terrified and shocked of seeing him. "Wh-what are you…" "Doing here? Very good question. I was wondering the same thing about you." He replied with a smile on his face as he interrupted her.
'Please hurry, Ash.' She thought. "Still. What are you doing here?" she questioned.
"Well, when I saw you, I thought I might follow you. Just to get back in touch. Especially with my ex." He told her.
She got furious when he said that as she turned her head to the side, her eyes closed. "I thought I told you that I didn't want to date you. You never got that through that thick skull of yours." She told him bluntly.
"Then why else did you hang with me?" he asked as he slowly stepped towards her.
"Because I thought you were a great friend. When you asked to go out with me, multiple times, I told you no. Even my sisters told you no." she reminded him as she stepped back still.
He was now a foot away from her. "Oh, come now, I wasn't that bad. I still want to be together." He told her.
She slapped him after he said that. "No means no! I was never your girlfriend, and I never will be." She reminded him.
He grabbed her arm to not let her get away. "Don't start this again. I don't want anything between us." He told her.
"L-let go! You're hurting me." She demanded. 'Ash where are you? Please hurry.' She thought to herself.
"I don't want to. I want us." He told her.
"Listen, I'm on a date right now." She told him.
"You're on a date with someone? Who would you be dating over me, then?" he requested in a demanding tone.
"Hey, Mist." Ash said as he was walking back towards her. They both looked and saw him as he had two ice-cream cones. "I got us some…huh?" he was about to say that he got them ice-cream until he saw Zack with her. "Who's this guy? Huh!" he questioned until he saw that he had her arm gripped, seeing that he was hurting her. "What's going on here? What are you doing to her?" Ash demanded from him, feeling his protective instincts kick in. Pikachu saw what was going on as well and jumped onto the ground, his cheeks sparking.
"Pika pika pi pika. (Best let her go.)" Pikachu demanded.
"Who is this guy, Mist?" Ash asked her, not knowing what was going on or who he was. Zack's grip loosened just enough for Misty to slip out and run towards Ash. She grabbed onto his arm with both her hands. He stood in front of her a little when she did to protect her and gave Zack daggers. "Tell me! Who are you and why were you hurting her?" Ash demanded from him. Pikachu was at the ready for anything.
"Just don't worry about him Ash. He's no one." She told him. He turned around with her and they walked away from Zack. Pikachu followed them and jumped back up on Ash's shoulder. Misty held onto Ash's arm.
"So you're on a date with him, huh?" he questioned her. Neither of them responded. "He's hardly as good looking as I am. You're my girlfriend, Misty. I want us back together." He said to himself as he clenched his fists.
Ash looked to Misty as they kept walking. "Who was that guy, Mist?" Ash asked her again.
"J-just don't worry about him. I don't want to have to deal with him anymore." She told Ash.
"Well, in the meantime." Ash replied and stopped for a sec and Misty looked at him. "Here!" he told her as he handed her an ice-cream cone. "I saw the ice-cream stand and I thought I get us a couple of cones." He told her.
"Th-thank you, Ash." She replied as she began to lick the ice-cream. "Pistachio. How'd you know?" she asked him with a smile.
"I remembered it when we had met Latias." He told her.
"Thanks, Ash." She said lovingly. 'Gee. There's a lot he remembers about me.' She thought to herself. She took his hand, and he returned it as he gently squeezed hers, and she returned it. "I'm definitely enjoying our date." She told Ash before she released his hand and took his arm, wrapping her arms around it.
"I'm enjoying it too." He replied. From there, he unlinked their arms and wrapped his arm around her, putting his hand on her waist and pulled her close. She remained by his side, loving every minute of their date.
It wasn't long until they finished their ice-cream. Misty tossed the bottom of her cone into her mouth and ate it up. "Aahhh. That was refreshing" she stated.
"No kidding. Now, I wonder where Dawn, Iris and Serena are." Ash wondered as he looked around.
"Not for sure. Hang on." She told Ash as she shot Dawn a message. It wasn't long until they got a reply from her. "They're right near the Contest Hall." She told him.
"That's not far away. Let's meet up with them." He told her. She began to follow with Pikachu riding on Ash's shoulder. His ears perked up as he looked behind himself. He saw no one and continued to look forward.
In the shadows, however, they were being followed.
It wasn't long until Ash, Misty and Pikachu arrived at the Contest Hall and they looked around a bit. It wasn't long until someone approached them and tapped Ash's shoulder. He looked behind himself and saw Dawn.
"Hello, Ash." She greeted in a very cheeky tone.
"Dawn. We were looking for you." Ash told her. Misty turned around and saw her.
"It's great to see you again." Misty told her.
"Where's Iris and Serena?" Ash requested.
"I think they're at the hotel for the coordinators." Dawn told them.
"Let's go and meet up with them." Misty told them.
They headed in the direction of where Serena and Iris were. Misty was fairly close to Ash and Dawn noticed this as she has sensed something was going on.
"Well, since it's been at least a week. How have you two been?" she asked, thinking something was going on between them.
"We've both been doing fine. Just been doing a lot of training and traveling." Ash told her. "Not only that, but we also ran into Zoey and Paul." Ash told her.
This made Dawn stop and gawk at them. "ZOEY AND PAUL! HERE?" Dawn shouted in disbelief. They stopped and looked at her. "I didn't even know they were here in Kanto." Dawn told them.
"Yeah, they are. We ran into them in the mountains." Misty told her.
"Can't believe they came here to Kanto. Not to mention another someone is here." Dawn told them.
"Huh? Who else is here?" Ash requested.
"Well…while I was traveling with Iris and Serena, I got a message on my Pokeketch. I had found out that Kenny is here in Kanto as well." She told them.
"Kenny is here too? I thought he would've went off to Johto." Ash remarked.
"I thought so too. He told me he wanted to meet up. I departed from Iris and Serena and met up with Kenny. It was only four days after you both went your separate way." She told them.
"Is he here now?" Ash asked.
"He is, but he wanted to go get something. He said it was a surprise." Dawn told them.
"For right now. Let's meet back up with Serena and Iris." Ash stated.
They agreed and went to the hotel. Pikachu still perked up and looked around. Ash noticed this. "You okay, buddy?" he asked.
"Pi pi pika pi pikachu. (I thought I detected something.)" Pikachu said.
"Hmm!" Ash wondered as well but didn't see anyone or anything. "It's okay buddy. It's probably nothing." He told him and continued on. Yet, a shadowy figure looked at them from an alleyway. Watching them.
They all went into the hotel where the contestants were staying. Going inside, they saw the lounge area. Many contestants were in there talking or having a good time before the contest. They looked around for Iris and Serena and they found them as they were at the front desk. They went up to them as the receptionist handed them a key.
As they turned around, they saw Ash, Misty and Dawn. "Hey guys." Serena greeted.
"Hey there you two. Getting a room?" Ash asked.
"We definitely are. I was going to suggest we go to the Pokémon Center until Serena learned the hotel was being used for Contest Coordinators." Iris told them.
"Seems like a good idea. Just to help us relax and prepare up for the contest." Serena told them.
"Does help out to take a breather from the outside." Misty stated.
"Yet I enjoy the outside." Ash remarked. Misty giggled and Ash looked at her. "What?" he asked her.
She kissed his cheek. "Oh, it's nothing." She teased him.
He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. "What was it, Mist!" he requested in a teasing tone as well. She could tell he was up to something until the receptionist heard her name.
"Are you Misty?" she requested.
Misty looked to her, "Yes, I am." Misty replied.
"You had a phone call from earlier. I'll see if I can get back in touch." She told her as she began to attempt. It took her a couple of minutes. "Yes! The caller would like you talk with you. Says there's something a bit urgent that you need to know." The receptionist told her. "Also, it's a bit private. Says it's about a surprise." She told her. "There's a video phone in the back that way." She told her.
She looked to Ash. "Go ahead, Mist. I'll be out here." He told her.
Misty gave a nod and thanked the receptionist. She went to the other room while Ash remained with Dawn, Iris and Serena. She picked up the phone and looked at the screen. "Hello! Misty Waterflower here." She said into the video phone. The screen came on and Brock's face was on the monitor. "Oh hey, Brock. What is the urgency?" Misty requested.
"Well, Misty. Not a real urgency, but I needed to tell you something in privacy." He informed her. "If the receptionist did tell you it's about a surprise, that's I what I need to tell you about." Brock told her and Misty listened in. As she did, Ash was chatting with Dawn on what was going on. Misty, however had wide eyes from what Brock told her.
"What?! You're kidding." Misty stated.
He shook his head and looked at her. "I'm not. Delia told me about this a couple of weeks ago." He told her.
"WHAT!" she began to shout until Brock immediately waved his hands frantically while his face was in a panic form. Trying to tell her not to be so loud about it. She covered her mouth fast. She checked to see if Ash had heard her, and he didn't appear; which was a relief. She looked back to Brock. "A surprise party for Ash. His birthday and when he first met Pikachu. I need to get them some presents." She stated.
"So far Delia and I have been in contact with his other friends from his previous journeys. Only the ones we know of who we know we can get in contact with." Brock told her. As they talked, the figure that Pikachu detected sneaked into the room she was in.
"So will the party be after the contest?" Misty asked.
"Yes. Delia has the thing planned out so far." He informed her.
"Then all we need to do is keep the whole thing a secret until after the contest. Need any help from me?" she asked.
"So far, not yet. Dawn knows about the party as well. We'll be there soon to get preparations under way." He informed her.
"Right. I won't tell him either." Misty replied to him.
Brock nodded. "Will talk with ya soon." He stated.
"Right. Bye." Misty told him and hung up. The screen went off and she reclined back. "A surprise party for Ash. I can't wait." She said to herself.
"That's nice. A surprise party for him." Someone stated. Misty paused with a small gasp recognizing the voice again. She slowly looked around and got up, thinking she was only hearing things. Once she looked back behind her, she saw the person.
Her eyes widened. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" she screamed.
This immediately got Ash, Dawn, Iris and Serena's attention. "That was Misty. Come on." Ash told them right as he had started to run.
The guy that was in there was now holding her arm while covering her mouth. "Don't! Someone will hear us." He told her as she frantically tried to get out of his grip. Misty looked into his eyes as her voice was muffled. It was Zack and he had managed to sneak in. "Or he might hear us." He told her as he hissed through his teeth. Her eyes widened when he was referring to Ash that time. Now know he was going to be after him soon.
"HEY!" Someone shouted to him. Misty immediately recognized that voice. Zack barely did, but he had an idea of who that was. "Let…her…go." The voice ordered him. He turned his head around and she looked as well. They both saw Ash. He didn't do as he told him, but Ash stood his ground, his fists clenched with Dawn, Serena and Iris behind him. Pikachu ready for anything; his cheeks sparking. "I said let…her…go!" he still ordered.
Zack had to come up with something when he turned himself and Misty around as she was now in front of him. He now held Misty's arm behind her back as he continued to cover her mouth. They saw this as his method of making her his shield, which disgusted them. "Y-y-you got this all wrong. You see, I just wanted to chat with her." He tried to lie.
This gave Misty a slight chance. "Ash!" she called out until he recovered her mouth.
"You see, this is all a complete misunderstanding." Zack tried to convince them.
"There's no misunderstanding and you best do as Ash says along with the rest of us." Dawn warned him.
"You best let her go if you know what's good for you." Iris told him.
"We don't know who you are, but Misty clearly doesn't want to talk to you at all. Let go of her, now." Serena also warned him.
Ash put his arms up and they looked at him, a bit surprised. He glanced back at them. "Once the chance comes, get her out of here." He told them. They were very confused, but Ash knew what he was doing and looked back to Zack. "I'm telling you like they did. Let Misty go, now!" he ordered Zack.
Zack barely moved as he looked at them. "I just want to talk with her is all. I just want us to be back…" Misty took her chance and bit him. "YEOW!" he screamed as he let go and shoved her away.
Misty about fell until Ash caught her and pulled her into his arms. She placed her hands on his chest and looked at Zack out of complete fear. She never knew he would do anything this drastic. Ash kept her close by holding her by her waist. Ash gave him a powerful death glare. "You best stay away from her." Her warned him. Misty got closer to Ash, and he continued to hold her closer. She felt safe right there in his arms. That was until he managed to maneuver her behind himself. She looked at him, very confused as to what he was doing. "Guys. Get Misty out of here." He told them.
Misty looked to him with a very concerned look on her face. 'If you're going to fight him, please don't. I don't want this.' She thought to herself. "Ash?" Misty wondered. Ash turned to face her and took her hands.
He looked into her cerulean eyes that he would always get lost in. "You need to get out of here. I'll take him on. Just be safe." He told Misty. He looked at the other girls as well. "That goes for all of you. I want you all to get out of here. I know he won't leave with out a fight." He told them before turning back to him. "I'll take you on." Ash told Zack.
"So, you'll fight me for her?" Zack asked as he still rubbed his hand from Misty's bite. "Sounds reasonable." He stated. The other girls shot daggers at him.
"No! I'm not going to fight for her. I'll fight to protect her." Ash stated. Misty gasped at this, understanding him. The other girls, however, smiled at Ash, knowing he made the right decision.
"Come on, Misty. We best get clear from this." Dawn told her. She about took misty with them until she went up to Ash. He looked at her and she placed one hand on his arm, and she kissed his cheek.
This surprised Ash a bit, but it made Zack furious. "Please, be careful." She pleaded.
"I will, Mist. I will." He told her as he put his hand on top of hers. "Now get moving, okay." He told her. She nodded but kissed his cheek again and she left as Ash removed his hand from on top of hers.
"You must be real stupid for this." Zack told him.
"I am so much smarter than you even realize." Ash stated. "PIKACHU! GO." Ash called out.
Pikachu jumped from his arm onto the floor. "Pika pika pi. (I'm all ready.)" he stated.
"Then come on out, Alakazam." Zack called out. The Psychic type burst out of the poke-ball in a bright light.
"Alakazam." The Psychic Pokémon stated.
"Use thun…" "Psychic on them both." Zack told Alakazam. "Alakazam did as he was told and used Psychic on Ash and Pikachu. They both began to float in the air, both struggling to try and get out. "Did you honestly think I would go into a Pokémon battle?" Zack questioned.
Ash and Pikachu still struggled. "We won't let you near Misty." Ash told him.
"You're in no position to tell me anything." Zack told him. "Fling them to the wall." Zack told Alakazam did as told and flung Ash and Pikachu to the wall, seemingly knocking them out. "Now, mess around with a few things. Let's put out a nice scare to get me Misty." He told his Pokémon. Alakazam did as he requested and caused some commotion.
Back at the front desk, Misty, Dawn, Serena and Iris were beginning to wonder what was going to be happening.
"What do you think Ash is doing?" Serena questioned.
"I hope he isn't battling right now." Iris stated. After she said that, the smoke alarm went off and smoke began to fill the room. Everyone began to cough as the receptionist hit the Emergency button and got on the intercom.
"Attention everyone! Attention. We have an emergency. A fire has just broken out on the main level. Evacuate immediately. Evacuate immediately." She shouts over the intercom.
As the people start to leave Misty stays as she puts two and two together. Realizing Zack has done something, and Ash is still back there. She starts for where she last saw him until someone grabs her arm. She looks to see Dawn as she has a serious look on her face.
"We have to get out of here, Misty." Dawn told her.
"But we can't. Ash is still back there." She told her.
"I know he is, but do you think he would want to for to run back there?" Dawn asked her. Misty looked back to where Ash was then back to Dawn. She bowed her head over and shook it in defeat. "That's right, now come on. He'll be out to join us real soon." Dawn told her. Misty went with her.
Back with Ash he was just staring to get back up and saw Zack along with a fire. He looked down and saw Pikachu was getting up as well. They did not expect Zack to do that. "What did you do?" Ash demanded.
"Very simple. With this fire, we'll be able to get Misty." Zack told him. Even Ash knew that didn't make any sense and that wouldn't even get Misty either. Pikachu was now up and ready for anything.
"We're going to stop you, and this won't even get Misty to come to you. You'll only push her away." Ash told him.
"I'll get her to come back to me. It's only a matter of time." Zack told Ash.
"I won't let you. I will protect her with my life like I would with my Pokemon." Ash said as he began to run towards Zack.
"Alakazam!" Zack exclaimed. Alakazam lifted Ash again and tossed him against the wall again, this time, making Ash hit against his own hand. Ash managed to get back up right after, and Zack pointed at Ash. Alakazam tossed some burning wood in Ash's direction, hitting him, but more his injured hand, which made Ash scream.
After the attack, Zack and his Alakazam had vanished. Ash didn't have enough time to look. He went over and picked up Pikachu who jumped up on his shoulder. From there, they began for the exit.
Misty and those were waiting outside as the fire crew had arrived and began to put out the fire. Misty was completely worried about him and didn't know what was going on. Even the other three girls didn't know what was happening either, as Ash hadn't come out yet. It wasn't long until a silhouette was seen in the blaze, and they saw it was Ash.
He had Pikachu on his shoulder and Misty bolted for him, tears now flying behind her. Ash saw her and opened his arms. They embraced with Misty now burying her face in his chest. Ash had held her close when she did and kissed her head. "It's okay, Misty. I'm fine." He told her.
She pulled back and looked into his chocolate brown eyes. Tears still coming down her face and he wiped them away. "What-what about…" Misty wondered about Zack.
Ash looked behind himself into the building. "He managed to get away. I don't know where he vanished off to." He told her.
Misty understood. This was Zack they were talking about, and he wasn't going to leave Misty alone. However, when she looked down, she noticed his hand. "Oh no! Ash! Your hand." She told him, very
concerned.
He looked at his hand and covered it. "It-it's fine." He told her.
"It's not fine. You're hurt." She told him.
"Maybe, but I'm more concerned about you." He told her as he caressed her cheek. She placed her hand on top of his, to keep it there. The other girls watched them, Dawn smiling at the site. Serena didn't know what to think as she was thinking that she was remembering something about Ash. Iris smiled at them as well, but merely shook her head.
"Come on. Let's get your hand checked out and get Pikachu looked at. He looks a bit banged up as well." She told him. She gently took him by his arm and took him over to the medics.
They managed to look at his hand and bandaged it up. He flexed his hand a bit, as it still hurt. "According to them, my hand should be better in a few days." He told them.
"Well, that's good to know." Dawn stated.
"Here's what I'm wondering. Did you both fight?" Misty asked Ash
"I about had a Pokémon battle with him, to try and prevent him from getting to you. But he only used his Alakazam to sling me and Pikachu against the wall." He told her. "I wanted to take the battle outside, but I could tell he didn't want to." He told her as he lowered his head, disappointed in himself.
Misty raised his head a bit and looked right at him. He was surprised at this, but what really surprised him is that Misty gave him a brief, but passionate kiss. After she broke it, he had a very surprised look on his face. "That's for being okay and not fighting him." She told Ash. "I know I'm always proud of you, but I'm very proud that you didn't fight him." She told him.
"In the meantime. I wonder where Kenny is." Dawn wondered.
"Hey! Hey!" someone shouted. They all looked in the direction and saw a boy. He had reddish looking hair, was wearing a green shirt with a white stripe going around it, right below his chest. White circles going around the edges of his sleeves and the bottom of his shirt and the collar of his shirt, a green sweater under the shirt and khaki pants with a dark grey belt with black and white shoes and white socks.
"There you are. Where were you?" Dawn asked until she noticed he was holding blue flowers. "Huh? Flowers?" she questioned. "Who are they for?" she asked him.
"Well…uuhhh…I got them for uuhhh…they're for you." He told her as he blurted it out and handed her the flowers.
She took them and sniffed them. "They're so beautiful and smell wonderful." She told him, but she was still confused. "Curious. Why did you…"
"I…uuhhh. Well, I would uuuhhhhh…the thing is…I would like to travel together." He blurted out as he bowed over with his eyes closed.
This was definitely a surprise to Dawn, as she did not expect for Kenny to ask her this, again. As for now, we all await the next Pokémon Contest and Ash's birthday along with their anniversary. Possibly someone else's as well.
