Bane studied the tape of his quarry taking down the changeling he sent to check what he was up against. Yes, she was not as helpless as some might think. However she had a fondness for Obi-wan; maybe he could shock her into making a mistake? That was worth more thought.
A few days later Sarabeth was working near the communications center. There was a slight delay on incoming transmissions, nothing serious but since she was finished with the rest of her work for the day she decided to fix it. The fact that it was getting close to twenty hundred hours didn't matter, she wasn't that tired. Besides, she knew herself well enough to know that when she has started fixing something she could not sleep until it was finished.
Wrapping up the simple job, she thought she could have a slice of cake with milk before heading back to her quarters. I wonder if Savage has ever had one. No, must not consider that. Resolutely she pushed the thought aside and checked the interface over again to make sure that she did not miss anything. She hadn't, so she replaced the panel and put her tools in there sockets.
Stopping by the communications center she saw Master Unduli, "Hello Master."
The older woman turned, "Hello Sarabeth. Have you finished?"
Sarabeth nodded. "The lag should be gone, if there are any other problems let me know."
Unduli smiled, "I will." Answering the unspoken question, "Obi- wan has reported and he is fine. The ring he was tracking down has been captured and Obi-wan should be back within the next few days."
Giving a sigh of relief, "Thank you Master." Then realizing she was probably interrupting, "If there is nothing else I can do…."
"There is not." A nod, "Good night Sarabeth."
"Good night Master." Then the mechanic left the communications center. Now, about that cake. She headed towards the eating area to find the sugary good.
