Chapter 8: The Third Stop: W's World
Nihlus recognized the background in the photo studio. It was from Neon Genesis Evangelion, one of the first animes that he ever saw. It was also confusing towards the end, but anyways, it appears that Evangelion was W's domain.
Now that he thought about, the Riders he met so far were main anime characters so his best bet was to look for Shinji Ikari. He soon went outside to find himself in his casual clothes. He looked around to confirm that he was Tokyo-3.
"So, this is…W's world." He said before looking at himself. "I don't have a role here?" He questioned before searching his hoodie's pockets. He found an ID with himself on it. He examined it as Fu followed him.
"Which world are we in this time, Nihlus?" Fu asked as Nihlus turned to face her.
"Well Fu, we're in W's world and apparently here, I'm a… NERV operative." Nihlus read the ID before putting it away. "Now then, W is a detective here and is two separate people."
Fu then noticed something while Nihlus was explaining.
"So, all we have to do is to find W's working-."
"Is it this place?" Fu asked. Nihlus stopped to look at the Double Detective Agency building. Nihlus got out his camera and took a picture of it.
Nihlus then approached the door to see a sign that said, "Vacation. Come back later."
"Eh?"
(Play Journey Through the Decade by Gackt)
{Kamen Rider Decade. He has been given the power of a destroyer to destroy one.} As the song starts the scene focuses on Decade, who just transformed, standing in a white room filled with filming clips.
{Miageru hoshi sorezore no rekishi ga kagayaite} Fu covers Nihlus's eyes until she lets go. His eye is zoomed in and is soon replaced with the camera, his camera, and later his upgraded Decadriver which includes all 15 Heisei Riders including himself. His Machine Decader is shown parked in front of a pile of smoking rubble. In the white room Nihlus grabs one of the cubes and faces the camera.
{Seiza no you sen de musubu shunkan hajimaru Legend} The scene changes to a worn down warehouse with all Riders sitting but one at a time. Fu grabs a bottle and looks at it. Nihlus looks back. Yugi slumps his back against his TryChaser 2000 as the silhouettes of the other Riders appeared one by one. Fu throws the bottle down on the floor.
{Oorora (aurora) yurameku jikuu koete. Tobikomu meisou suru Parallel world}On one side the Dark Riders charge while on the other the Riders of Good did the same. When the bottle shatters, Nihlus looks as though he was about to collapse but not before his face changing into each of the Riders' helmets. Back at the warehouse all 15 riders were lined up doing their signature poses and with Decade in the center but behind him was Fu.
{On the road dare mo tabi no tochuu. Hontou no jibun jishin deau tame.} All 15 Riders were in a circle and were fending off the Dark Riders as they were being surrounded by them. Nihlus is then shown on his bike getting his helmet on and Fu was riding passenger. Fu grabs on to him tightly. Next, Decade shows off his fighting skills especially with the Attack Ride: Slash card. Soon back to the Riders, everyone was doing their best trying to watch each other's back while against the Dark Riders.
{Atarashii yoake e to tsuzuku michi ni kawaru no darou.} Nihlus sits alone exhausted and with tears rolling down his face until Fu was in front of him with his camera in one hand and offering the other to help him up. We soon see Yugi riding with Nihlus and Fu on their respective bikes. Back on the battle, Blade was having trouble with Glaive until Decade shows up and pushed Glaive away. Ryuga was about to use his Strike Vent on Decade until Ryuki used his first which saved Decade.
{Mokugekise yo Journey through the Decade.} The Riders were helping each other trying to take down their respective foe. Soon Fu is seen with a smile in Decade's mind. But Decade focuses on the battle and helping his comrades. Decade was soon on his bike driving out of a Gray Mirror with pictures of the other 14 Riders in it and they circled the logo.
"Well, that's just great." Nihlus said as he read the sign again.
"So, what do we do now?" Fu asked, eager to meet this two-in-one Rider.
"Well, I can guess we could wait for them to show up." Nihlus said as they went back into the studio where Mr. Hitachi just turned on the radio.
"That's right, Fuuto's own Wakana Sonozaki is releasing her new album today at the Tokyo-3 Mall!" The radio announced.
"Or we could follow that lead." Nihlus was a huge fan of W and knowing the show, it would be a safe assumption that both halves would visit the mall for that. He and Fu soon got on the bike and drove out.
(In another part of the city)
Dark Decade just exited the Gray Mirror.
"So this is W's world." He mused. "It's a shame that I didn't have enough energy to revive Eternal. No matter, this world will fall into my hands regardless."
Dark Decade then went into his pockets to pull out a USB with a skull ribcage. It was one of his modified GaiaMemories. He then pressed on its button.
"LIZARD!"
"Now to find the perfect dummy to use this." He said before leaving. But nearby, another Gray Mirror appeared and Yugi came out.
"Dark Decade!" He called but he looked around to see no one in sight. "Damn it, he got away. But…where am I?" Yugi wondered before driving off to explore the city.
(With Nihlus and Fu)
Fu was holding onto him, making Nihlus blush a little bit as Fu was admiring the view she has of the city. The city looked so peaceful to her but then she noticed some sort of team cleaning up a huge blue structure.
"Hey Nihlus, what's that?" Fu asked, making Nihlus look.
'That's Ramiel, so we must've come early in the anime.' Nihlus thought. That was the corpse of the Fifth Angel, Ramiel.
"That's a corpse." Nihlus answered.
"A corpse? No way!" Fu remarked.
"I could've taken that thing down easily…" Nanabi muttered in Fu's head.
"How do you know that?" Fu asked.
"You could see some blood on the panels plus I've recognized the structure from before." Nihlus answered. If he told Fu about the anime he saw, she would be certain that he's crazy or something. But then again, everything that they've been through seemed so…surreal.
As they were driving to the mall, Fu couldn't help but notice a look on Nihlus's face.
"Hey Nihlus, is something wrong?" Fu asked.
"Oh, it's nothing." Nihlus answered.
"Nihlus, tell me." Fu said now worried for her friend.
"Well, I was just thinking." Nihlus answered. "Dark Decade so far seems to be one step ahead of us. And I think he even knows where you came from, if he get his hands on you…"
Dark Decade seemed to be more experienced that Nihlus was in being a Rider and no doubt that Caucasus has told him about Fu. Would Dark Decade use her power as a Jinchuriki?
"Don't worry about it." Fu answered.
"But-."
"Look, I don't give a damn about my status of being a Jinchuriki right now. Thanks to you, I no longer have to worry about people finding about me being a Jinchuriki."
"But what about Dark Decade?"
Fu got comfortable on Nihlus's back, making him blush a little more.
"He won't get me without a fight plus…I know you'll protect me." Fu said.
'If anything…I should be the one worrying about you.' Fu thought as she thought back to her dream about the Rider War.
They soon arrived at the mall and parked the bike.
"Alright, I think that we can cover more ground if we split up." Nihlus proposed as the two travelers entered the building.
"You sure?"
"We can cover more ground that way." Nihlus pointed out.
"Okay, any idea who these detectives are?"
"Maybe one, a kid with short brown hair who looks younger than us." Nihlus answered, describing Shinji Ikari's appearance. "But if he isn't W then at least he could guide us to him."
"Okay, I'll call if anything happens." Fu said before leaving.
"Be careful." Nihlus said with Fu facing back at him.
"I will." Fu answered before she placed her hood on.
(Elsewhere in the city)
Dark Decade was driving his bike, thinking where to find a suitable dummy but before that he needs to establish allies here. If his scouts were accurate, then the Sonozaki mansion in Tokyo-3 should around the block form where Dark Decade was.
He soon arrived at the mansion and parked his bike. He looked at the gate in front of him. Dark Decade was thinking on how to get in until he noticed a trashed mirror nearby.
"Perfect." He muttered before placing his Driver on and getting out his card.
"Henshin!"
"KAMEN RIDE: DECADE!"
Dark Decade went into his Rider Form. He stared at the mirror before getting a new card out. He placed it in his Driver and closed it.
"KAMEN RIDE: RYUGA!"
Dark Decade turned into Ryuga and jumped into the mirror.
(In the mansion)
Ryubee was looking around the basement looking at potential spots for his equipment. Meanwhile, DD-Ryuga was staring at him before he calmly walked out of the mirror and start sneaking behind him.
DD-Ryuge was about to do something until Ryubee quickly turned around and saw him.
"Excuse me, but I don't think you should be here. I suggest you leave now." Ryubee warned.
"I do not wish to harm you, old man. I only wish to talk." DD-Ryuga answered.
"The only ones who you'll be talking to are my men." Ryubee said before snapping his fingers and soon men in black suits appeared and they surrounded the Dark Rider.
They took out the same GaiaMemory before pressing it.
"MASQUERADE!"
They placed them into their necks before turning into Masquerade Dopants. DD-Ryuga looked around them. He then pulled out a new card.
'Using a card like this would be appropriate for a situation such as this.'
He opened his Driver, placed it in his Driver, and closed it.
"KAMEN RIDE: ETERNAL!"
DD-Ryuga was surrounded by white and blue pixels and they surrounded him, turning him into Eternal.
Ryubee seemed very intrigued before the Eternal Edge materialized in DD-Eternal's hand.
"Come at me!" He said before he attacked. He kicked one Dopant and blinded the other with his cape before he stabbed him right in the gut.
He then did a spin kick from a Dopant coming from behind before DD-Eternal elbowed another and swept his feet off the ground. The Masquerade Dopant lande don his back in pain.
DD-Eternal soon saw more Masquerade Dopant charging straight for him.
"Time to finish this." He said before getting one last card and placing it in his Driver before closing it.
"FINAL ATTACK RIDE: E-E-ETERNAL!"
DD-Eternal's blade was consumed in a blue flame before it extended, looking like the blade of a sword. He then sliced through the remaining Dopants before they fell down and exploded.
Ryubee was clamping as DD-Eternal reverted back to his civilian form.
"I suppose we can now speak?" Dark Decade asked.
"You've earned one conversation. So what do you want to talk about?" Ryubee asked back.
"W and a couple other Riders that came to this world." Dark Decade answered.
"More Riders?"
"They're only here temporarily but I want to take care of them." Dark Decade explained. "So I think we can help each other out here."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, I believe we have much to offer to each other."
"Such as?"
Dark Decade noticed a down Masquerade Dopant and took out his modified Lizard Memory and pressed on it.
"LIZARD!"
Dark Decade walked over and knelt down only to insert it into his neck. The Masquerade Dopant started twitching before it shook. He then groaned in pain before standing up and mutated into the Lizard Dopant.
It soon stood up with renewed strength and faced Dark Decade. It then kneeled.
"What is your bidding…my master?"
"I want you to cause trouble and lure out the Riders. But if you see someone named Decade then knock him out, there's not need to kill him. A good place to look could be the local mall." Dark Decade said.
"As you wish." The Lizard Dopant said before taking off.
"Intriguing, you can alter GaiaMemories." Ryubee observed.
"It pays to be prepared for anything." Dark Decade answered before the two started their real conversation.
(At the mall)
Nihlus was looking around for his possible Rider. He was adjusting his camera while walking. He soon started thinking.
'Hard to believe, I'm here in Evangelion but…can things here change for the better with W here? I wish I could stay and help too but…I just can't." Nihlus thought to himself. Evangelion was one heck of an anime for Nihlus to take but he has to leave this world in W's hands.
He then took a picture if the sight through the window. Even though he was Decade, he still loved taking pictures despite how distorted they look. He then noticed a crying boy in front of him.
"Hey buddy, what's wrong?" Nihlus asked as he knelt down to his level.
"I can't find my Mama." The boy said as he was about to cry.
"Hey now, don't cry." Nihlus said, trying to cheer the boy up. "Look, a picture here won't be perfect with you crying and your mother would want to see the picture, right? So don't ruin it, in fact, try to make that picture better."
The boy looked up at him.
"You know what would make this picture better?" Nihlus asked.
"What?"
"If we could find your mother, that way the picture will be even more perfect. So, let' s help you find your mom." Nihlus proposed. He and the boy were looking through the mall for the mother.
"Mom!"
"Hey mom, your kid's here!"
It was only a matter of time before…
"Akira!" The woman recognized before running up her to child and hugging him. Nihlus smiled as he took a picture of the reunion while the boy looked at him.
"Thank you, mister!"
"And, thank you for helping me make the picture even more perfect." Nihlus said as he looked at his camera.
"Thank you so much!" The mother said.
"No problem." Nihlus said before he left.
'I wonder if Fu is having any better luck than me.' Nihlus thought.
(With Fu)
Fu was looking around until she saw a boy, that fits Nihlus's description, talking to a friend. She decided to follow them but the boy got suspicious and turned to look. He immediately took cover in the crowd.
"Shinji, is everything okay?"
"Yeah, I thought someone was following us for a second." Shinji answered before he and his friend resumed their original path. Fu got out of cover and called Nihlus.
"Hello?"
"Nihlus, it's me. I found him."
"Got it, I'll try to meet up with you."
(With Nihlus)
He hung up and tried to find Fu but soon he saw a man with a dark hooded coat. He recognized that coat anywhere.
"Hey!" Nihlus called and the man ran off with Nihlus on his heels. The man was pushing through the crowds as he was trying to escape but Nihlus was relentless. The man tried throwing some garbage cans down but Nihlus jumped over them.
At least Nihlus has experience when being chased by angry customers.
Soon Nihlus heard an explosion and stopped to look while the man ran off. He looked to see the Lizard Dopant on the lower level terrorizing everybody.
Nihlus looked into the direction the man went before looking at the Lizard Dopant.
"Damn it!" He muttered before trying to downstairs.
(With Fu)
She heard the explosion and so did Shinji and his friend. They went to investigate to see the Lizard Dopant.
"Any guesses?" Shinji asked.
"If anything, I'd say that's the Lizard Dopant." His friend deducted.
"C'mon, let's see what we can do to help." Shinji suggested before he and his friend helped evacuated everybody. Fu decided to help as well and she soon saw a child having trouble. She rushed to the child before the Lizard Dopant appeared and tried to attack but Fu dodged it.
She then did a hand gesture before using her Hiden: Hiding in Scale Powder Technique. The Lizard Dopant moved back as it was rubbing its eyes and Fu took the child to safety. Soon Shinji and his friend approached the Dopant.
"Even on our day off we still have to fight. Oh well." Shinji sighed as he placed the DoubleDriver on while his friend has the same Driver materialized around her waist.
"I suppose it can't be helped. Ikuze, Shinji."
"Right." He replied before the two got out their Memories and pressed on them.
"CYCLONE!"
"JOKER!"
"Henshin!"
The friend placed her Memory first in her Driver before it teleported to Shinji's slot in his Driver. Shinji pushed it in before inserting and pressing his Memory in. He then pushed the two slots aside.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
The tune was playing Shinji's body was enveloped in the small tornado before the particles surrounded his body while the friend closed her eyes and was prepared to pass out. Soon Shinji transformed into W.
"So that's W…" Fu observed before noticing that the friend was about to fall. So she ran up behind her and caught her. W looked in surprise before Fu nodded at him, saying that she'll keep Rei's body safe.
W nodded back before Fu dragged Rei's body somewhere safe. W flickered his left wrist before pointing at the Dopant.
"Saa, omae no tsumi o kazoero!" W announced with the dual voice.
The Lizard Dopant just charged at him while W charged as well. The Lizard Dopant attacked first before W dodged and kicked him in the head. W landed while the Dopant stumbled back.
Fu looked at the battle before noticing the hood of the fallen girl being dropped down. Fu was surprised; she had pale white skin and short blue hair. Fu then looked back at the battle.
"CYCLONE-METAL!"
W's left side changed to gray before his staff materialized. W pulled it out and it extended before charging.
"Let's go again, you big lizard!"
Fu soon saw that the battle wasn't exactly going into W's favor but then she heard a very familiar voice.
"Fu!" She looked and saw Nihlus heading in her direction.
"Nihlus!"
Nihlus looked down and recognized the passed out figure.
"Rei!"
"You know her?" Fu asked.
"Not personally." Nihlus answered before looking at W's battle. W soon flew across the floor as the Lizard Dopant slowly walked to him. W had trouble getting up. "I get the gist of the situation."
Nihlus placed on his Driver, opened it, and got out his card.
"Henshin!"
"KAMEN RIDE: DECADE!"
Nihlus transformed into Decade and got out his gun.
"Be careful." Fu said.
"I will." Decade responded before placing a card in his Driver.
"ATTACK RIDE: BLAST!"
The Lizard Dopant got shot multiple times and W looked behind to see Decade. W's right eye blinked.
"Decade…" W's feminine side recognized.
"Sorry, I'm late." Decade apologized before helping W up. He then looked at the Lizard Dopant.
"Decade…" The Lizard Dopant recognized.
"I'm guessing Dark Decade sent you, right?" Decade deducted before looking at W. "Feel like getting some payback?"
"Like you have to ask, I'm in. What about you, Rei?" W asked with a voice that Decade recognized. Apparently here, Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami are Kamen Rider W.
"It's not like we have much of a choice." Rei answered. W then took out his Joker Memory and replacing his Metal Memory with it.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
W reverted back to his original form and Decade transformed his gun into a sword before the two charged. Decade placed a card in his Driver and closed it.
"ATTACK RIDE: SLASH!"
Decade's sword started to glow before he slashed the Lizard Dopant with it multiple times. W then used Decade's shoulder as a spring board before kicking the Dopant in the head. The Dopant stumbled back before it grabbed a bench and threw it at them. The two moved out of the way and Decade got a new card out.
"Okay, let's see if this works." Decade said before opening his Driver, placing the card in, and closing it.
"KAMEN RIDE: KUUGA!"
Decade soon transformed into Kuuga, much to W's surprise. D-Kuuga looked at the Lizard Dopant before charging.
"He changed!" W remarked.
D-Kuuga punched the Dopant again and again before the Dopant finally blocked the hit and kicked him away. W then charged before punching the Dopant in the face, D-Kuuga got up before kicking the Dopant in the gut and punching him in the face.
"Let's finish this together." D-Kuuga proposed.
"Right!" W answered before he took out his Joker Memory and D-Kuuga with his card. The two placed them where they needed to be.
"JOKER! MAXIMUM DRIVE!"
"FINAL ATTACK RIDE: K-K-KUUGA!"
The two jumped in the air with D-Kuuga, in a sidekick position, aiming his fiery leg at the Dopant while W split apart and aimed the legs too.
"JOKER EXTREME!"
The two attacks collided with the monster, resulting in an explosion. Decade and W came out okay while all that was left of the Lizard Dopant was an unconscious man and the shattered Lizard Memory.
"Time for the police to do the work now." W said before reverting back to Shinji and Decade reverting back to Nihlus.
"Shinji Ikari." Shinji introduced.
"I'm-."
"Nihlus Kryis." Rei answered as she stepped forward with Fu behind her.
"So, you searched me up?" Nihlus asked. If Rei was the right side of W, then that must mean she has a connection to the GaiaLibrary.
"You and the other Riders." Rei answered.
"What does she mean, Nihlus?" Fu asked as she walked to him.
"I don't think this is the best place for a conversation regarding this." Nihlus answered, remembering that guy who got away could be watching them. "We should head back to the studio." Nihlus suggested.
Meanwhile, Dark Decade was watching them before leaving through a Gray Mirror.
(Later at Hitachi Studio)
"Mr. Hitachi, we're back." Nihlus said before he opened the door with the others following him. Hino was having his lunch right now but with someone.
"Oh, good I'll get some more plates then." Hino said as he left.
"And we brought-huh!?" Nihlus said as he stood with complete shock.
"Nihlus, what's wrong-What the!?" Fu went off after seeing what Nihlus saw. Shinji and Rei went to have a peak as well. Eating with Hino was Yugi, Kamen Rider Kuuga.
"Ah, Nihlus! Fu!" Yugi recognized as he got up to greet them.
"Yugi!?"
"It's good to see you guys again!" Yugi greeted before looking at Shinji and Rei. "Who are these guys?"
"Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami. These two are the two-in-one Kamen Rider, W." Nihlus answered.
Yugi had a bright smile.
"Wow!" Yugi then approached them. "Nice to meet you two, I'm Yugi Muto, Kamen Rider Kuuga. I hope we can get along!" He said as he offered his hand. Shinji and Rei stared at him before looking at each other.
"What do you think of him, Rei?" Shinji asked.
Rei looked at the two before coming up with an answer.
"Yugi Muto…and Shinji Ikari. Sounds like we have two peas in a pod." Rei smiled, which surprised Nihlus since the Rei he saw was so cold and emotionless most of the time. But it was good to see Rei acting human for a change.
Shinji seemed offended.
"Me and this guy!?" Shinji then shrugged. "Don't make me laugh."
Yugi then placed his hand on Shinji's shoulder.
"It's okay, I just hope you two are doing a good job bringing the smiles to all those people like I did. If it's one thing I can't stand, it's those smiles gone." Yugi answered
Shinji seemed to have a surprised face.
"You…are alright!" Shinji said as he shook Yugi's hand.
"Good to meet you!" Yugi stated back.
"Good to meet you!" Shinji said.
"Good to meet you!"
"Good to meet you!"
Fu then decided to break up this cycle by getting in between them.
"So anyways, Yugi, how did you get here?" Fu asked
"Well…it started back shortly after you left my world…" Yugi started as he ecplained how he tried to catch Dark Decade and ended up through a Gray Mirror. "Then after I went through, I found myself in this city except I didn't see Dark Decade anywhere. I was exploring around until I found the studio." Yugi explained.
"So Dark Decade is here?" Rei asked.
"It is possible." Nihlus assumed. But then Hino came back with plates.
"Here." Hino started as he laid the plates flat on the table. "Take anything you want."
Shinji shrugged before sitting down and started eating since they didn't really have lunch.
"Rei, you want to a bite?" Shinji asked before he started eating his soup.
"Maybe but right now I need to talk to Nihlus about something." Rei explained.
"Uh…is something wrong?" Nihlus asked.
"No, just some things I want to ask…privately." Rei requested.
"Okay." Nihlus answered before he and Rei go to the back. Fu had a worried look as they went off. They were soon alone in the back with background.
"I know about you." Rei started.
"I know and I know about you." Nihlus answered.
"Good, because the world you lived in…had the answers I need."
"Huh?" Nihlus asked confused.
"You saw our world as an anime…which means you know more about us right now than we do." Rei concluded. "Am I correct?"
The fact that Rei knew where he's from isn't shocking enough but the fact that she knows that her world was an anime back there really caught Nihlus off guard.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Nihlus asked, wondering what Rei had in mind.
"Does that mean you know where I came from?" Rei asked.
"You mean you don't know?" Nihlus asked shocked. He does know about Rei's past and what her true origins are but…how does this Rei not know.
"I have…amnesia. My name was the only thing I can remember and…some bits of working with Gendo Ikari but other than that nothing else except the facility that a group kept me at." Rei explained.
Nihlus nodded, remembering Begins' Night from the show. So in here, Rei followed the normal path set for her until she was transferred to Museum.
"I do have dreams about my past but most of them don't make any sense to me. Shinji promised to help me on that as well." Rei said, remembering and telling the time she realized she has amnesia.
(Two years ago in Futo)
"Well, make yourself comfortable here, Rei." Shinji muttered as he opened the door for Rei. She looked around the agency while Shinji hung Boss's hat up and tried to resist crying. They have just escaped the facility and Shinji just lost his mentor there. He took a deep breath while Rei sat down on the couch.
"I'm sorry, Ikari." Rei muttered. Shinji looked at her.
"It's my fault." Shinji answered as he sat next to her. "If I only listened to Boss…none of this would've happened. Anyways, our client wanted us to rescue you. Boss never told me who it was. Do you have any idea who?"
Rei thought about it but other than Gendo, she doesn't really know anyone else who would help her.
"I…don't know." She said.
"Okay…" Shinji said, wondering what else to ask. "Okay then, you mentioned my 'father'. What's your relationship with him?"
Now this was a question Rei could answer.
"He has provided me with everything."
"Define 'everything.'"
"He was the only one to connect with me but now that I think about it…he never really meant it. I know now that he was using me like a puppet." Rei answered, now knowing what she experienced wasn't real but fake thanks to Boss.
"Bastard…" Shinji muttered. "What for?"
Rei then told Shinji of Gendo's plans for a Third Impact, about SEELE, the Angels, Evangelions, and their backup plan…GaiaMemories.
"Damn it…" Shinji said, not knowing how to take this before one more question popped in his head. "What about you?"
"Me?"
"There has to be a reason why he told you. What makes you special?" Shinji asked.
Rei tried to remember the reason why she was told this but…
"I don't know." She said, surprising Shinji. "Hold on, I need to do a lookup." She said while standing up. She hoped that the GaiaLibrary might have the answers she's looking for.
"Huh?"
Rei then closed her eyes and entered the GaiaLibrary. She placed her name in as a keyword and used "past" as a second keyword. Rei then soon saw her book and opened it.
Her eyes widened.
"No way…" She muttered with a shocked look.
The book was torn with no pages left. She got out and slumped herself into the couch.
"I don't know…" She answered.
"What?"
"I don't know anything about my past…" She answered. "I don't know why he told me, where I came from, and I don't even know how I came to Gendo in the first place. I don't know anything about me."
Rei had a small look of despair and looked as if she was about to break down but…
"Are you kidding me? You should know about yourself." Shinji answered with Rei looking at him. "Regardless of your past, you should know who you are. Knowing your name was a good start."
"But…I don't know where else to go now." Rei said as she curled up into a ball but Shinji got up, faced her, and offered his hand. "Huh?"
"Then…I'll help you. I still owe you one after what happened at the facility so…I'll take you in." Shinji said with a blush but he remembered promising Boss that he'll take care of her. "Plus with Boss gone, I'm going to take his place and become a man like him but…I need a partner. So are you in?"
Rei looked at him while thinking. After everything that happened tonight, he's willing to take her in? Rei looked into his eyes to tell that he was being sincere and honest, unlike Gendo. Shinji can actually make Rei feel right at home. Rei also saw this is as an opportunity. An opportunity to find the person she wants to be not what she has to be. Rei let out a smile and took Shinji's hand.
"You have a deal, Ikari."
"Rei, if you and I are going to be partners now then you need to start calling me in a more casual sense." Shinji smiled.
Rei's smile grew gentler and wider now.
"Very well, Shinji…my aibou." Rei then noticed the radio and examined it, much to shinji's confusion.
"Is something wrong?" Shinji asked.
"What is this device?" Rei asked her new partner.
"A radio." Shinji answered with a weird look on his face. Did his father really held her back on a lot on life.
"Ra…dio? How does it work?" Rei asked. Shinji walked up and turned the knob before the radio broadcasted a song.
"Like that."
"Intriguing, I must learn more." Rei said before she went into the GaiaLibrary.
"Hey!" Shinji shook her but got no response. He then sighed. "This is going to get some getting used to."
(Present)
Nihlus had a surprised look on his face before he debated what to do in his head. It's true that he knows Rei's origins and her past but…it's more merciful to not tell her. Besides, what could he say? That she isn't who she thought she is? To Nihlus, there are some things that this Rei shouldn't know.
"I…can't." Nihlus answered.
Rei looked at him.
"It's not that I don't want to, it's just…it'll be better if you learn on your own. There are some things that can't be provided to you, you have to find it yourself."
"I see…" Rei answered, with a disappointed look on her face but Nihlus patted her on the shoulder.
"But, I know you will with Shinji. After all, you're detectives, right?" Nihlus smiled.
Rei smiled back.
"It's true, Shinji said he would take on my case, trying to prove he's hardboiled." Rei answered. "But I see your point. Also, you said, you were going to help me and Shinji, right?"
"Yeah."
"Then you'll need this at NERV." Rei said before going into her pocket and giving him the Frog Pod and its Memory. Nihlus understood, he was going to be their mole for them especially since Gendo has plans for a Third Impact.
"Why do you-?" Nihlus asked, wanting to know why Rei had this on her.
"I planned to use this for a later lookup for myself but I think you're going to need it more than me." Rei answered. "Anyways, we should join the others right now. Remember to call me and Shinji if anything turns up."
"Got it."
The two moved back to where everyone else was.
"W-What is that supposed to mean!?" Shinji asked as he did a spit take.
"Mean by what?" Rei asked as she and Nihlus joined the others.
"That whether you and Shinji are more than partners." Fu answered, causing Rei to blush as well. Everyone laughed at their misfortune while Nihlus took a picture. Even it was fun to tease them, it was nice to see them act differently from their other counterparts.
"Oh, you're one to talk! What about you and Nihlus?" Rei asked, causing Fu and Nihlus to blush this time.
"We're just friends!" The two of them defended at the same time.
"Uh huh, likely story." Shinji said, using his power of deduction to obviously tell that these two have feelings for each other.
"Can we please not talk about this?" Nihlus pleaded, not wanting to go into this. "We won't tease you if you don't tease us. Deal?"
"Deal." Everyone agreed.
"So, I've been talking with Rei here and we settled a few…matters." Nihlus said. "For starters, since I'm going to be working for NERV in this world, I'll try to gather as much data as I can for you two. After all, us Riders have to help each other."
"What's the other thing?" Shinji asked, curious of what Nihlus and Rei talked about.
Just before Nihlus answered, the doorbell ranged. Nihlus answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hi, I'm Misato Katsuragi and this is Asuka. We're your new neighbors!" Misato said. "Do you mind if we come in?"
Nihlus remembered them but gestured them in before the two saw the detectives.
"Oh you two are here too!? Now, this can be a party!" Misato exclaimed while trying to get to know everyone while Asuka had a somewhat sour look on her face.
"What's wrong with you?" Shinji asked.
"I don't want to talk about it." Asuka answered, thinking about school today.
Nihlus was smiling at the scene before taking another picture.
(Later at night)
"So what did you and Rei talk about?" Fu asked as they were getting ready for bed.
"Rei just asked me a question about something before giving me something that can help me get evidence for them at NERV." Nihlus said as the two entered their room with new photos printed on the table.
Nihlus looked at them before sitting down on his bed.
"Well, at least I got a few good shots." Nihlus mused despite them being in their…usual display. Fu looked through them.
Fu smiled.
"These are good shots." Fu answered as she went through the pile.
"Yeah but…I wonder if I'll find a world for my pictures to be perfect in." Nihlus said.
"Don't say that." Fu replied as she sat down next to Nihlus. "You're pictures are always good in my book."
Nihlus smiled, knowing there's a t least one person who like his photos no matter what.
"Thanks."
Fu smiled back.
"It's no problem. But about NERV, what if you get caught?" Fu asked, worried that the organization will find out about Nihlus's true intentions.
"Well, I won't sell out Shinji and Rei, that's for sure. As for me, I'll try to get out before things can get worse." Nihlus said. Even though he doubted he'll be captured, there's always the possibility.
"I and Yugi can help you if that happens."
"You sure? It's a big organization."
"After what we've been through, I wouldn't leave you behind for anything." Fu answered. "I would even use Nanabi's power if I have to."
"I look forward to that, then." Nanabi muttered in her head.
Nihlus placed his hand on Fu's shoulder.
"Thanks, I just hope it doesn't have to come to that." Nihlus said.
"You'd better hope not!" Fu said as she got up and was about to go to her room. "Otherwise, I'll never forgive you for that. Night, Nihlus." Fu said as she left.
"Night." Nihlus said before going he decided to go through his deck. He looked through them and found the sealed W cards but among them was another sealed Kamen Ride Card. His eyes widened as he recognized it.
(In the Sonozaki Mansion)
Dark Decade and Ryubee were currently talking about their new partnership. Ryubee also told him how he and Wakana ended up here. They were sent by SEELE to deal with W since he was here in Tokyo-3 and to assist Gendo Ikari.
"Personally, I feel only pity for Gendo." Ryubee started. "He has no respect for the elderly. I was even tempted to end his misery but…if his scenario is still possible, I'll stay my hand."
"And if doesn't seem possible."
Ryubee smiled.
"It's simple…I'll end him." Ryubee answered before getting up. "Anyways, since I'm going to be here for a while I'm going to need some of my equipment back from Futo. Excuse me." He said before leaving to get the phone.
Meanwhile Dark Decade was thinking and the situation that Shadow Moon told him.
(A long time ago in the Dark Riders' Base world)
"Are you serious!?" Dark Decade questioned as he was having a meeting with his generals.
"Yes, my lord." A hooded figure stated. "Apparently one of the Shocker figures you've resurrected has rebelled."
"What about the others? Are they traitors too?" Dark Decade asked.
"I'll be taking care of that personally, my lord." Shadow Moon answered. "I'll tear out any rat that remains in your presence."
"Don't, I want to take care of them myself." Dark Decade answered.
"As you wish."
"What about the rebels? Is their resistance strong?" Dark Decade asked.
"They can be quite…vexing. But they can barely hold their ground now." Ouja said in his hooded civilian form. "It's only a matter of time before they fall."
"Good. Very good." Dark Decade commented. "For now, continue suppressing the rebellion."
"As you wish." Ouja answered.
Dark Decade looked at Shadow Moon.
"Shadow Moon, I want you to lead an investigation on any other possible traitors. If you find any, then bring them to me. They will know the real meaning of pain from me."
"As you command."
"Now then…dismissed." Dark Decade said before everyone was gone. He stood up and summoned a Gray Mirror. "He'll regret betraying me." He said before going through.
(Present)
Dark Decade snapped out of his thoughts before looking at Ryubee.
"I understand. When will you be coming?"
"…"
"Good, bring the equipment that I've requested. I look forward to seeing you again."
"…"
"Love you too." Ryubee said before hanging up. He then noticed Wakana coming in.
"Tou-san, who were you talking to?"
"Your sister, apparently she and her husband will be coming here soon." He explained.
"Why?" Wakana asked. She was really surprised.
"I think it's important to have a good foothold here in Tokyo-3. I doubt Ikari can hold his plan together with the Kamen Rider up and about." Ryubee started to explain. "Plus, they've decided to spend their honeymoon here. I thought they would be kind enough to bring some equipment from home to here."
"Why?"
"Just to make things…more homey here especially since the Kamen Riders is here." Ryubee answered.
"Riders?" Wakana asked, confused of the plural form.
"Hai…"Dark Decade started before introducing himself. "Where are my manners? I am Dark Decade and I am looking for a few…adversaries of mine. Mind you that they are also Kamen Riders." He advised.
"Dark Decade has gone to great lengths to find and ally with us." Ryubee explained. "And I can already tell that he's smarter than Gendo here. Dark Decade, I can tell that this is the start of a beautiful friendship here."
(The next day)
W and the other Riders were discreetly following Misato with HardTurbuler. They were avoiding any unnecessary air traffic.
"Are you sure we can't let Misato know? I mean this is dangerous if she does volunteer." Kuuga pointed out. W told everything that Decade and Kuuga need to know about the upcoming Jet Alone test.
W's eye blinked.
"This might seem dangerous but I have no doubt that Misato will be okay. After all, she survived the Second Impact. But, she's blinded in her revenge against the Angels maybe one day, we'll tell her of the Commander's true intentions along with anyone else that he used." Rei answered.
W continued to fly around while trying to avoid unwanted attention.
"Better make yourselves comfortable here because we're going to be here for a while." W said.
After a couple hours of flying around, the three Riders soon saw Jet Alone.
"That thing is massive!" Kuuga remarked.
"So are the Angels." W responded.
They started watching Jet Alone moving and W and Decade started to look anticipated. It only took a matter of seconds for Jet Alone to lose control and started heading towards the command center.
"Shinji, it's time." Rei reminded.
"Right." W said before pulling out one of his Memories.
"TRIGGER!"
"CYCLONE-TRIGGER!"
W and Decade started shooting Jet Alone until it stomped a piece of the command center and continued walking. The Riders decided to check to see if anyone is alright.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
"Oi! Is everyone alright?" W asked as he reverted to his default form.
"W!? What are you doing here!?" Misato questioned as she stood up. "Who are these people?"
"These guys are Kamen Riders Decade and Kuuga." W introduced as he landed the hover cycle. W was about to respond to why they're here but…
"It doesn't matter, if we don't stop that thing a meltdown can occur!" Decade pointed out. He knew that Jet Alone was running on a nuclear reactor and will cause a meltdown from overheating if it wasn't stopped.
"He's right, but normally under certain circumstances, our only option is to wait for it to stop." Shiro Tokita answered.
"What are the chances that it'll stop automatically?" Kuuga asked.
"0.00002%! We'd better hope for a miracle!" A technician said.
"We can't just stay here and do nothing! Is there any way to shut it down?" Misato asked.
"We've tried every possible option."
"I wouldn't say that." Rei answered through W. "There's always some sort of failsafe in case of an event like this. Like a password or something similar, correct?" She deducted.
"The password to delete all programming is top secret. I can't authorize it." Shiro answered.
"Then get the clearance. Right now!" Misato ordered.
Shiro got on the phone and it lead to one person to another. Misato and the Riders thought that this call was just a waste of time since the real reason for these transfers was that no one can claim responsibility.
He soon got off the phone.
"A written order of clearance will be sent. That will make this an official operation." Shiro explained.
"There's no time, by the time we get it, it'll explode!" Decade reminded.
"Jet Alone is heading for Atsugi." The intercom announced.
Time is running out." Misato pleaded. "I'll take responsibility for this myself."
Minutes later, W volunteered to go into Jet Alone and shut it down from the inside. Misato had to make a call while W followed her.
Kuuga looked at the passing Jet Alone and Decade noticed.
"You scared?" Decade asked.
"Are you kidding me? Of course I'm not. I just hope we can stop that thing in time." Kuuga said.
"We will besides we faced worse." Decade pointed out.
"Right! Also…" Kuuga then whispered into Decade. "Are you sure it's safe to send those two up in that radioactive thing?"
"I'm sure it'll be fine, plus if this sabotage we're looking at then they have a piece of evidence for their investigation."
"They really don't trust this Gendo guy, huh?" Kuuga whispered.
"Trust me, when I say this but Gendo isn't a very 'nice' guy." Decade whispered back. He knew about Gendo's plan to initiate the Third Impact and how he used everyone in order for things to go his way. He wanted to cause all this chaos just to be with one woman. Soon W came back with Misato, who was in a radiation suit, and she said that she will be joining W in Jet Alone.
"Are you two serious?"
"Yes."
"But the interior must be flooded with radioactivity. It's too risky!" Shiro replied.
"We don't have much of a choice. If we do this, then we can save everyone." W pointed out.
Just then the terminal was destroyed by a technician with an axe.
"The hatch can be opened as soon as our signal is cut off."
"You two should be able to enter through the back pack." Another technician explained as he tore a plug apart. Misato and W nodded.
"'Hope'." Shiro said.
"Huh?"
"That's the password to delete the programming." He explained.
"Thank you." Misato said before looking at the HardTurbuler.
After a few minutes, the Riders and Misato got on before chasing Jet Alone. The Riders were on the side while Misato was at the back.
"So can this thing catch up to JA?" Kuuga asked as Jet Alone was in their sights.
"Maybe, haven't tested that out. I do have some doubts." W admitted.
"I can take care of that." Decade volunteered. "Just get us close enough to JA and I'll handle the rest. Once you guys get inside, me and Kuuga will try to distract it."
"How?" Misato asked.
"Let us worry about it." Decade said.
It soon looked like they're not able to catch up.
"Oh no, you don't!" W said before revving up his machine. They were soon close to its back now. "Decade!"
"Right!" Decade said before placing a card in his Driver and closing it.
"KAMEN RIDE: KABUTO!"
Decade transformed into Kabuto much to W and Misato's surprise. He then got a new card out and used it.
"ATTACK RIDE: CLOCK UP!"
(In Clock Up)
Time seemed to freeze for D-Kabuto but he didn't waste a second. He quickly grabbed W and Misato and jumped towards Jet Alone's hatch. He landed and set the two down while he opened the hatch. He soon jumped back to HardTurbuler before he reverted back to normal and out of Clock Up.
(Out of Clock Up)
W and Misato found themselves on Jet Alone with the emergency hatch opened. They looked at Decade and Kuuga were on the HardTurbuler. Decade gave them the thumbs up to go in.
Misato looked at the entrance as she felt heat coming from it.
"Talk about hot. This looks bad." She noted before she and W went in.
Decade looked at Kuuga.
"Now, we gotta buy them some time by restraining that thing." Decade said.
"But how are going to stop something that size?" Kuuga asked.
"I'm sorry, Yugi but we don't have a choice." Decade said as he pulled out another card and placed it in his Driver before closing it.
"FINAL FORM RIDE: K-K-KUUGA!"
"Hey wait, are you serious!? I don't want to go through that again!" Kuuga said.
"We don't have a choice." Decade said with Kuuga looking the rampaging Jet Alone.
He then sighed.
"Just do it…." He muttered.
"Okay, this might tickle a bit." Decade warned before he patted Kuuga on the back making him fall and transforming into the Kuuga Gouram. Decade jumped off the hover bike and onto the Gouram.
The Gouram flew quickly while Decade got a card out. He placed it in his Driver before closing it.
"KAMEN RIDE: KUUGA!"
Decade transformed into Kuuga before getting another card out and using it.
"FORM RIDE: KUUGA PEGASUS!"
D-Kuuga went into his Pegasus Form with his gun turning into the Pegasus Bowgun. He took a deep breath as the Kuuga Gouram was slashing Jet Alone in an attempt to slow it down. D-Kuuga then fired at any point that may seem vital in movement.
JA wasn't stopping anytime soon but D-Kuuga and Kuuga Gouram noticed the F-Module with Unit 02 ready to launch.
"Is that…?" Kuuga Gouram started as he flew and slashed JA.
"Yeah, that's an EVA." D-Kuuga answered before he continued shooting. Soon Unit 2 was dropped and ran towards the accelerating Jet Alone. She then noticed the two Riders.
"What the hell is that?" Asuka questioned. It' s not every day you see another armored warrior, like W, riding a mechanical hovering stag beetle trying to shoot vital points in a gigantic robot. But right now she had more important business to take care of. She directed Unit 02 to move as fast as it can.
"C'mon, what's taking those two so long?" Kuuga Gouram wondered.
"Just give it some time." D-Kuuga said before Unit 02 managed to catch up to JA. It then managed to turn around and stopped it with its bare hands. The two Riders stopped and saw JA blowing off steam which Unit 02 tried blocking soon another spot start to blow off steam and Kuuga Gouram rammed its pincers against it.
Unit 02 was struggling to hold JA in place and appeared that it was about to explode.
"C'mon…" D-Kuuga muttered. It was soon a matter of time before JA finally stopped. Kuuga Gouram and Unit 02 eased their grip as JA finally shuts down. Soon W and Misato appeared as W got on his STAG Phone to summon the HardTurbuler and flew off with D-Kuuga and the Kuuga Gouram behind.
(Later at NERV Headquarters)
"Recovery of Unit One is completed. No danger of radioactive contamination. Except for Captain Katsuragi and the Kamen Riders' intervention, everything went according to plan." Ritsuko summarized as she and an agent were talking to Gendo.
"Good." Gendo said but he still had a troubled look on his face. The fact that there are more Kamen Riders out there isn't worrying enough but the fact that W has seen the system come back on its own. He knows that W doesn't trust him and he has no doubt that W is, at this point, very suspicious of him and has the potential to be a very dangerous enemy.
Ryubee said that he'll take care of it when the time comes but Gendo had to be sure of it himself. Right now to Gendo, the only way to keep W at bay is blackmail meaning that if he wants W off his back, then he needs to learn his identity and fast.
Unknown to them, outside the office was Nihlus holding a mechanical frog. Nihlus had a smile on his face, thinking he just heard enough. He turned off the Frog Pod before placing it in his pocket and resuming his business.
(The next day)
Nihlus only had a couple of hours left before he had to go to work at NERV. He then got out of his room in his new uniform.
"I hate wearing uniforms." He muttered.
"Aw, but it looks great on you." Fu said as Nihlus saw her coming his way.
"Easy for you to say. This thing feels a little uncomfortable." Nihlus groaned. He wasn't really the type to like a uniform. Heck, even in Kuuga's world despite being a detective, he didn't wear a uniform just a modern detective's outfit.
Fu just smiled before leaving.
"Where are you going?" Nihlus asked.
"Yugi and I are just going to look around the city. That's all, I'll see you later."
"Okay, have fun." Nihlus said before he left the studio. He then got on his bike and placed on his helmet. But before he could even take off…
"Rei!"
Nihlus looked next door to see Shinji chasing Rei who appears to be holding a picture.
"Give it back!" Shinji demanded.
"You have to catch me first!" Rei said before the chase continued. Nihlus laughed at the scene. It was good to see those two active for once. He then took his own picture, which Shinji noticed.
"Not you too!"
Nihlus immediately took off with Shinji running after.
"Get back here!" Shinji said before Nihlus was out of range.
He then looked to see that Rei got away as well.
"This is not just my day…" Shinji groaned.

"Hello and welcome to another wonderful edition of Kamen Rider Olympic Battles! I'm Shinji, Ikari, the hardboiled detective!" Shinji introduced himself with Rei rolling her eyes.
"And I'm Rei Ayanami, a fellow detective. And together…" Rei started.
"We are…the two-in-one Kamen Rider, W! Saa, omae no tsumi o kazoero!" Both Shinji and Rei said in synch.
"So Rei, what course is our Riders are going through this time?" Shinji asked.
"Well Shinji, this is another one hundred meter race! Featuring a few of the early Heisei Riders!" Rei announced as the racing Heisei Riders were waving at the crowds. "On the track, we have Kamen Riders Kiva, Decade, Hibiki, Blade, and Kuuga!"
"Truly a match that can only be decided in hardboiled manner, now then, all bets are locked in. Riders, take your positions!" Shinji announced as the Riders took their positions.
Kamen Rider Faiz appeared with his gun, aimed in the air, and fired.
"Go!" Faiz announced before a small piece of the ceiling fell on his head. The Riders took off.
"It's a powerful start!" Rei commented. "Oh! Den-O suddenly falls!" She noticed Den-O falling down.
Then Kuuga accidentally bumped into Blade. Kuuga tried to pass but Blade isn't letting him.
"And Blade is distracted!" Shinji observed. "He clashes with Kuuga!"
So far at the head were Kiva, Decade, and Hibiki with Kiva in the lead. Then, Kuuga punches and kicked Blade.
"Looks like we have a fight starting here!" Rei announced as Faiz tried to break it up.
"What about the race, you idiots!" Shinji questioned. "Kiva, Decade, and Hibiki are still in the lead with Kiva at first."
Decade, however, manages to take the lead but Den-O is starting to catch up.
"Oh Den-O is finally catching up!"
The two detectives looked back at Kuuga and Blade, who are still fighting with Faiz trying to break it up.
"You want a piece of me!?" Kuuga yelled.
"No, I want two…after I chop you with my sword!" Blade retorted.
"Alright, that's enough!" Faiz said as he was in between them.
"These two are fighting in a quarter-boiled manner, so let's just ignore them." Shinji observed.
"Looks like Hibiki and Decade are meeting their limit with Den-O taking the lead by a lot now!" Rei announced. Decade soon tripped and Den-O looked back before passing through the finish line. Decade fell on second as Hibiki entered third.
"Den-O wins!" Rei announced.
Kuuga and Blade were now on better terms as they walked the course.
"I'm not even going to say anything about them." Shinji said.
Decade and Kiva were n the floor from exhaustion as Hibiki hid his face in shame.
"Den-O ended the race in a hardboiled fashion!" Shinji announced as he remembered the time he and Rei finished their race as W.
"Just what you would expect from Den-O! Such popularity!" Rei commented as Den-O relaxed…by sitting at Kiva's back as the medal was placed around him.
"I always start a climax!" Den-O happily said.
