AN: Hey guys I'm back! Now I want to get a few things out of the way; I will not do a FuuxNihlusxChelsea, I do not believe in those kinds of relationships. There are a bunch of other things I want to address but I'll do that at the end of this chapter. But right now…it's Showtime!

Chapter 10: W's World Part 2
In the studio, Nihlus was just adjusting his camera at his desk in his room before looking at the calendar. It read that it was near Christmas and Nihlus remembered what important event was going to happen to Shinji and Rei. If anything was about to happen, it was that Shinji is going to face the Dummy Dopant in the form of Kamen Rider Skull, his mentor.
Nihlus started thinking to himself.
'This will be major development for Shinji, Rei, and their partnership so I can't interfere too much even though I know the culprit of this mess. But my number one concern is that Dark Decade and the other Dark Riders also know this event, I have to keep an eye out for this as well.' Nihlus thought to himself before looking at the clock, saying that it was really late.
He yawned to himself before examining his camera one last time. Nihlus smiled as thought about his entire past with his camera despite some of the bullying he had to put up with at the orphanage. Though why would his family leave him with a camera? It certainly made little sense. Was it because it was the only thing they could give him? Or were they trying to send him a hidden message.
Nihlus soon waved it off, seeing that there was no point in thinking about the past but he was curious of his family. He got into bed and turned off the lights before going to sleep.
(Play Journey Through the Decade by Gackt)
{Kamen Rider Decade. He has been given the power of a destroyer to destroy one.} As the song starts the scene focuses on Decade, who just transformed, standing in a white room filled with filming clips.
{Miageru hoshi sorezore no rekishi ga kagayaite} Fu covers Nihlus's eyes until she lets go. His eye is zoomed in and is soon replaced with the camera, his camera, and later his upgraded Decadriver which includes all 15 Heisei Riders including himself. His Machine Decader is shown parked in front of a pile of smoking rubble. In the white room Nihlus grabs one of the cubes and faces the camera.
{Seiza no you sen de musubu shunkan hajimaru Legend} The scene changes to a worn down warehouse with all Riders sitting but one at a time. Fu grabs a bottle and looks at it. Nihlus looks back. Meanwhile Chelsea watches Nihlus from a window with a tear rolling down. Yugi slumps his back against his TryChaser 2000 as the silhouettes of the other Riders appeared one by one. Fu throws the bottle down on the floor.
{Oorora (aurora) yurameku jikuu koete. Tobikomu meisou suru Parallel world}On one side the Dark Riders charge while on the other the Riders of Good did the same. When the bottle shatters, Nihlus looks as though he was about to collapse but not before his face changing into each of the Riders' helmets. Back at the warehouse all 15 riders were lined up doing their signature poses and with Decade in the center but behind him was Fu.
{On the road dare mo tabi no tochuu. Hontou no jibun jishin deau tame.} All 15 Riders were in a circle and were fending off the Dark Riders as they were being surrounded by them. Nihlus is then shown on his bike getting his helmet on and Chelsea was riding passenger while Yugi had Fu. Chelsea grabs on to him tightly. Next, Decade shows off his fighting skills especially with the Attack Ride: Slash card. Soon back to the Riders, everyone was doing their best trying to watch each other's back while against the Dark Riders.
{Atarashii yoake e to tsuzuku michi ni kawaru no darou.} Nihlus sits alone exhausted and with tears rolling down his face until Chelseawas in front of him with his camera in one hand and offering the other to help him up. We soon see Yugi riding with Nihlus and Fu on their respective bikes. Back on the battle, Blade was having trouble with Glaive until Decade shows up and pushed Glaive away. Ryuga was about to use his Strike Vent on Decade until Ryuki used his first which saved Decade.
{Mokugekise yo Journey through the Decade.} The Riders were helping each other trying to take down their respective foe. Soon Fu is seen with a smile in Decade's mind. But Decade focuses on the battle and helping his comrades. Decade was soon on his bike driving out of a Gray Mirror with pictures of the other 14 Riders in it and they circled the logo.
(At NERV)
There were some Christmas decorations around and NERV employees wearing Santa hats as they too were eager for the holidays like everyone else.
"Finally, some vacation time!" Misato cheered as her last hour for the holiday was about to go up.
Nihlus, even though he only worked for a little while, was relieved to see that his last hour for the holiday was about to go up.
Soon the time was up, and the two clocked out before walking out the facility together.
"So, how much longer are you going to be in this world?" Misato asked.
"Not much longer, I think I know what I have to do here but I just need to confirm it." Nihlus answered, remembering what he thought of last night and what date it was today.
"So what do you think your friends are doing?" Misato asked as they were now in the parking lot.
"Mr. Hitachi is probably running the studio while Yugi and Fuu are probably off with Shinji and Rei." Nihlus said as the two started to approach their vehicles.
"So how are you and Fuu?" Misato asked in a teasing voice. Nihlus just sighed, remembering how much of a teasing side that Misato has.
"We're not like that." Nihlus denied as he got on his bike and started. Sure, he'll admit that there have been some really close moments but he doesn't really feel that way. They were just some really close friends with a couple things in common.
"Uh-huh." Misato said, not buying it as she entered her car.
Soon the two revved their vehicles before going down the road and heading into Tokyo-3.
(At Double Detective Agency)
"ACHOO!"
Fuu sneezed as she felt a little bit of a shiver.
'Is someone talking about me?" Fuu wondered before hearing a…
WHACK!
WHACK!
Asuka whacked Shinji with her slipper again, much to his irritation. He soon managed to wake up and looked at Asuka with a very annoyed look. Shinji then remembered his dream before looking at the desk to see that it was empty.
"Huh? Where's Boss?" Shinji asked as he looked around. Rei, who was reading her book nearby, only shook her head. Her partner can easily be disillusioned whenever he dreams. It was one of his half-boiled attributes.
"Were you having a dream of that Boss you always kept going on about?" Asuka asked, recalling how much Shinji mentioned him.
Shinji sighed.
"Yeah…it was just a dream." Shinji answered as he tried to go back to sleep but then…Santa-chan appeared.
"No sleeping! You have an appointment!" Santa-chan scolded, abruptly bringing Shinji out of his sleep. "For chicken!" He showed a menu for fried chicken. "Do you like breasts or legs?"
It was Christmas time in the city of Tokyo-3 and that holiday itself was approaching. Asuka, Yugi, and Fuu were helping set up the Christmas tree while Nihlus and Misato were busy doing their own stuff at NERV. They were allowed to leave early due to the holiday season. In fact, they should be on their way back soon. But the only reason why Santa-chan and Watcherman were out here in the Agency building was because Shinji and Rei were closest thing they have to family and friends out here in Tokyo-3.
"What?" Shinji asked before Watcherman hugged Shinji's arm.
"Breasts! Breasts, breasts, breasts, breasts!" Watcherman chanted as he dragged Shinji towards the living room. "Right, Shinji? Shinji, you like breasts, right?"
"Either is fine!" Shinji said, not even caring about the food as he shook both older men away. It was times like this in which he felt he was the more mature one.
"You traitor! Did you forget The Breasts Oath!?"
Shinji truly had no idea what the man was saying, adding more to his irritation.
"What's with that team name!? Also I don't remember making any oaths!" Shinji snapped before getting Watcherman off him.
Santa-chan then poked Shinji in the back before showing off his leg.
"Ashi is leg. Who is fine with foot?" Santa-chan asked, deciding to put this silly debate into a vote.
Everyone raised their legs, actually having a fondness for chicken legs.
"Looks like we're having legs." Yugi said, much to Watcherman's dismay.
"Then it looks like I have to eat you all up!" Watcherman kidded as he pretended to be a chomping monster. Some walked away from the creep while others were trying to restrain him, except Rei who was trying her hardest to ignore them and just read her book. Unknown to them, someone from outside rung the doorbell but everyone was distracted by Watcherman's antics.
The person knocked again and again but with no response since everyone was dealing with Watcherman. The person, having enough, opens the door to see what was going on, making everyone freeze before they all slowly turned their heads to face the person. The person just looked surprised before shaking off the shock.
"I'm sorry, I thought this was a detective agency!" The person said, wasn't expecting this out of Double Detective Agency. But just as she was about to leave, everyone stopped her.
"We're a detective agency!" They all shouted to confirm her original thoughts.
"So I was right?"The person asked with everyone, except Rei who was too busy reading, nodding.
They brought her inside.
"Please come in." Shinji prompted as he tried regaining any professionalism left in him after seeing a new client witnessing Watcherman's child-like antics.
As the girl took off her sunglasses, Watcherman and a few of the other Tokyo-3 inhabitant recognize her.
"Aren't you Asami Mutsuki!?" Watcherman gawked as he tried to take a picture of her, only for it to be grabbed by Asuka and pushed aside. They were on serious business.
"From that sister duo, Erika and Asami?" Fuu asked. She and Yugi looked at the music of this world for a little while she and her friends were here.
"Yes, actually…" Asami started before looking at Shinji. "There's someone that I want you to find."
"No worries, he's a specialist-." Yugi started before Asami spoke up.
"It's not an ordinary person…it's my older sister." Asami revealed, making everyone silent because…
"If I recall, your older sister passed away in a shipwreck." Shinji said, remembering the news article that he came across a long time ago.
"I know." Asami nodded. "But five days ago…my sister…" She started telling her tale.
(Five days ago)
Asami was out in the city being greeted by a huge crowd of fans while being escorted by guards of course. The fans were cheering for her, taking pictures of her, and begging her to sign their CDs, shirts, etc.
"Asami-san!"
"Can I please have your signature!?"
She was soon crowded before noticing the one thing that caught her attention. Asami saw a figure rising before her eyes widened when she got a very good view of it.
It was her older sister, Erika, staring at Asami with a blank look catching her attention. She remembered obituary in the newspaper. Before she get a better look, Erika vanished.
"Oneechan!" Asami recognized as she went through the crowd to make sure that she was here. She was at the spot where Erika was last seen only to find no one around. Asami looked around to make sure that Erika was there but still found no one.
(Present outside)
Both Nihlus and Misato were outside the door for a few minutes, overhearing everything.
"Okay, the Angels are hard enough to believe but the dead coming back to life? What is going on with this world?" Misato asked in disbelief over the case circumstances.
Nihlus just had a stern look as his thoughts were confirmed. He knew how this was going to play out.
The two kept their ears to the door.
"I guess the party is on hold, huh?" Fuu's voice asked followed by Watcherman and Santa-chan's groaning.
Inside, Rei, however, just smiled at the case itself.
"The dead coming back to life? Such a thing is impossible, unproven…this is worth an investigation…" Rei then went through her book as she was actually looking things up in the GaiaLibrary.
Shinji just went over to his hat rack and picked out a fedora before looking at Asami.
"This city…is a delicate garden that must be handled with care like Fuuto. Don't worry, I'll take care of it." Shinji assured as he placed on his fedora.
Outside Misato sighed.
"No rest for the wicked when it comes to him, huh?" Misato asked with a smile. "I'll help by getting a head start on asking for information."
"Sounds good, I'll let the others know."
Everyone else inside decided to help as well by asking other people. Shinji was also thinking of finally putting Kensuke and Toji to work. When that was cleared up, they all left the building except Rei who just consulted the GaiaLibrary. Before she left for her the Garage, Rei noticed Nihlus with his back against the wall outside. She met up with him.
"You know….who the true culprit is?" Rei asked, remembering where Nihlus came from.
Nihlus sighed.
"I do…" Nihlus answered, knowing that Rei knows everything about him so lying to her was pointless.
"I see…then don't say it." Rei said, surprising Nihlus especially because she wants to know everything.
"You really don't?"
"We'll find it out eventually besides…" Rei smiled. "There's no fun in spoilers."
Nihlus chuckled.
"You really are different from the original Rei and trust me, that's a compliment." Nihlus said, remarking on how much humanity this version of Rei had.
"So where's Misato?"
"She and I overheard everything." Nihlus answered. "Misato is going to gather info, like the others."
"I see then in the meantime, do you mind helping me with my board in the Garage?"
"Sure."
The two went back inside into the garage.
(With Yugi and Fuu)
The two, like everyone else, was looking into Erika's reappearance after her "death" along with anything else related.
Yugi and Fuu were at a music store and Yugi was asking a cashier, who was a fan of Erika, while Fuu was listening to some of Erika and Asami's music, given that she never experienced modern music. She selected a song and placed on headphones before pressing the play button.
Fuu closed her eyes as she nodded to the music playing while Yugi got nowhere with the cashier regarding Erika's recent reappearance.
"Well have you heard anything about the dead coming back to life?" Yugi asked and this seemingly caught the cashier's attention.
"There are rumors that people are being greeted by dead family members." The cashier gossiped. "My friend's grandfather came back to her last month, it was really creepy."
Yugi thought Erika was the only case but no, there were other people who had the same situation. Some much so that it spread as rumors throughout the city.
"Sounds like something I should tell Nihlus."
(Later with Rei and Nihlus at the Garage)
"The dead coming back?" Rei asked as she was in the middle of a call with Shinji. She then looked at Nihlus, who was moving boxes at Rei's request.
"Yeah, stories of the dead meeting with their families. The rumors are everywhere." Shinji reported, recounting the overall thing that he heard.
Rei then looked at Nihlus.
"No, move that over there." Rei said, making Nihlus grab the box and moving somewhere else. She then focused back on the conversation. "Are you saying that Asami Mutsuki's sister did the same thing? Please do not joke." Rei refute.
She then looked at Nihlus again, who just placed the box down.
"No, put that over there." Rei said, making Nihlus groan as he repeated what he just did a few minutes ago. She then looked back at the phone. "At the time, I looked up the accident. The probability of survival is almost zero."
Nihlus looked at the board as he was moving the boxes. On it were statistics, lists of everything that would be there at the time of the incident, and numbers to calculate Erika's chances of survival which really didn't seem much.
"The dead do not come back to life." Rei said, reporting her findings in a nutshell.
"Yeah, but…I just can't help shake the feeling…"
Rei only had a light chuckle, remembering that Shinji also goes with his gut regarding cases.
"That special instinct of yours?"
She could hear a faint chuckle from Shinji before he adopted a serious tone of voice.
"The rumor says that the dead appear in places of special meaning to the deceased. I'm going to investigate it."
Shinji then hung up before Rei looked at Nihlus and where he placed the box.
"No, you just-you know what? Just place it back where you found it." Rei decided before she went back to reading, earning Nihlus's discontent.
"Damn it, woman!" Nihlus said as he placed the box at its original spot and hoped that was the end of it.
RING!
Nihlus soon got a call from Yugi. He placed the box back where he found it before answering the phone.
"Hello?"
"…"
"Uh-huh. I see. We just got the same info from Shinji." Nihlus said as Yugi continued talking.
"…"
"I think Shinji said he and Asuka will be heading to the graveyard to pay their respects to Eirika."
"…"
"Alright, I'll call you later." Nihlus then hung up before looking at Rei. "Rei, can I ask you a favor?"
"Hm?" Rei stopped reading to look at Nihlus.
"You know who I am, right? I was wondering…if you can search up my past."
"Your past?"
"Yes, you know I'm an orphan, right?" Nihlus asked, earning a nod from Rei. "Then do you know anything about my family or where I came from?"
"Let's say hypothetically I do, what good would that bring?" Rei asked.
"Huh?"
"You know that you and I are the same in regards to this. We both have no memories of our origins, families, or even how we ended up in this current situation. But look at where we are now, we're both Kamen Riders and are protectors of this multi-verse. We both have friends and families with bonds stronger than those of blood. There's no need to look into origins, is there?" Rei asked, posing a very good point. They both have a good life so far so why even dig through the past when everything looks bright so far?
Nihlus smiled. This Rei was so much unlike her canon anime counterpart.
"Yeah…I suppose you have a point there."
"Besides, something tells me we're going to learn about ourselves soon."
(At the graveyard)
Fuu and Yugi soon saw Misato at the graveyard first instead of Shinji and Asuka. They joined her and Misato noticed them.
"You found anything?"
Misato shook her head.
"Nothing on Erika but a lot on the dead coming back to life."
"Same." The two teens responded before a priest noticed them and approached.
"Can I help you three?" The priest asked.
"Well we were trying to investigate the dead coming back to life, more specifically Erika Mutsuki." Fuu explained, looking back at Erika's tombstone.
The priest nodded.
"Ah yes, there was no body found but the family did have a grave constructed here, seeing that she was born and raised in Tokyo-3."
Soon, Shinji and Asuka were walking to the graveyard behind the church before seeing Misato, Fuu, and Yugi talking with a priest in front of Erika's grave. They soon noticed them.
"Are these your friends?" The priest asked before Misato nodded.
Shinji and Asuka looked at Erika's gravestone before looking at the priest.
"As I have told your friends, there is no corpse. But the family had a grave made."
Fuu then leaned into Shinji's ear.
"There isn't a corpse so she couldn't have been resurrected here." Fuu whispered but the priest heard her.
"The dead coming back to life...I've heard the rumor." The priest said as he looked at the other graves. "How terribly unpleasant. For humans, death is a solemn and inescapable moment."
"That's right." Shinji nodded in agreement. No one can live forever. He learned that the hard way when his mother and Boss died. "Anyways, we should get going."
They all started walking before one of their cellphones rang. Asuka answered it.
"Hello, Asami?" Asuka asked before hearing what the young idol has to say. Asuka then had a shocked expression. "You want to cancel the request!?"
"Eh!?"
(With Rei and Nihlus)
Rei was reading her book while Nihlus was reviewing his recently taken photos. Soon the insides of Nihlus's hoodie started glowing, catching the both of their attentions.
"What the hell?" Nihlus wondered as he noticed the source of light being from the Decadriver.
"How fascinating…" Rei awed, examining what the white belt buckle was doing.
Soon the belt ejected two new cards and Nihlus caught them before he and Rei examined them. The images were like the sealed cards and couldn't be made out. But what was noticeable was their names, Kamen Riders Drive and Ghost.
Rei immediately grabbed them with and examined them with a face that would match a child's when buying new toys or games from the store.
"Looks like our universe is constantly expanding." Rei noted. If there were new Riders, then that must mean that there are new worlds to explore. But that realization could work as a double edged sword because…
"That could mean that there are new monsters, villains, and even Dark Riders at Dark Decade's disposal." Nihlus remarked.
"Well, for now, I suppose we should just worry about the case. But I know what I'm looking into after this case…" Rei remarked as she gave the cards back to Nihlus.
Nihlus just looked at both cards as curious as Rei was. He didn't know about more Kamen Riders being created but time does move at its own pace it seems. Nihlus then tried to look into both of the cards to see a faint appearance on both Riders. Out of the two, Nihlus found the Ghost card interesting since it had a unique design with a hoodie.
'I hoped Ghost's world is next. He looks like an interesting character.'
(With Shinji and the others)
Shinji and Yugi, who they met up with just recently, were trying their best to restrain Asuka while Fuu and Misato were somewhere else. Asuka wanted answers from Asami but she wanted them from an aggressive manner.
"A-Asuka, calm down!" Shinji said as he was pushing her in the front while Yugi was pulling her from the back.
"This isn't going to get you anywhere!" Yugi exclaimed, familiar with that kind of approach back in his world.
"Shut up, baka! This isn't funny nor is it reasonable! She can't just give a case and immediately withdraw it!" Asuka said, feeling her sense of pride taking over. Even if she isn't a devoted detective like Shinji or Rei, Asuka doesn't like to lose anything so easily and mystery cases were not an exception. "I won't accept it! Just let me have a word with Asami! Just one little word!"
"Just listen to us when we say calm down!" Shinji said, trying his best to remain as the voice of reason.
Just then Yugi noticed something in the windows of the building next to him. He grabbed Shinji's attention and directed towards the window. Shinji's eyes widened and his jaw dropped down in surprise. Asuka noticed Shinji's expression and looked before seeing a woman staring down at them with a neutral look. Asuka soon had the same facial expression as Shinji's.
"Is that…?" Yugi asked, having an idea of who that woman is.
It was a face that was only seen with Asami on CD covers, magazines, posters, and….an obituary section on the newspaper. This was Asami's older sister, Erika.
"Yeah, we found her…the ghost." Shinji answered as he and Asuka shook off the initial shock.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
The two guys nodded as they and Asuka went after her. In the building, Erika started to move up the building in a ghostly fashion while the three kept going for her. Upon reaching the ceiling of the building, the three couldn't find Erika anywhere.
"Where is she-!?" Shinji questioned before the sky turned into a dark color. "What the hell?"
Soon a figure appeared in the sky before the sky itself turned back to normal. The figure was a skeleton composed with a few extra skulls, a tattered robe, and held scythe as a weapon.
"My name is Death." The figure said as he looked down on the three. "I rule the world of the dead. I can fill the emptiness of losing those whom one loves. I am the ultimate savior!"
Shinji held a serious face as he knew that this was a Dopant right in front of him.
"I knew it was related to a Dopant." Shinji remarked as he placed on his Driver while Yugi summoned his Arcle. "Let's go, Rei." Shinji said as he took out his Memory.
(With Rei and Nihlus)
Rei nodded at Nihlus as her belt was summoned.
"Right." Rei said as she took out her Memory. She then pressed on it.
"CYCLONE!"
"Henshin!"
Rei placed her Memory in the appropriate spot before it vanished. She then passed out before Nihlus caught her and gently laid her on the floor.
"Alright, time I should get out there and help." Nihlus said as he placed on his Driver and left the garage, hoping that the fight wasn't far in when he gets there.
Nihlus went outside before getting on his bike and driving out. Unknown to him, a hooded Dark Decade was watching from a nearby building. Soon his steward Shadow Moon appeared next to him.
"You sure you do not wish to interfere, my lord?" Shadow Moon asked.
Dark Decade smirked under his hood.
"Shadow Moon, you have to know when to and when not to interfere. Right now, letting things play out instead of interfering is more fun in this case. I think I'm just going to get some popcorn and enjoy the show." Dark Decade said as he left the roof with Shadow Moon behind him.
(With Shinji and the others)
"JOKER!"
Shinji did his pose while Yugi summoned his belt and did his pose.
"Henshin!"
Shinji received the Cyclone Memory and slammed it in its slot before placing his Memory in its own. Yugi continued his pose before pressing the side of his belt. Shinji pushed both slots away.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
Soon both Shinji and Yugi became W and Kuuga. W's used the wind energy from his Cyclone Memory to place the Death Dopant on the ground in front of him and his fellow Rider. The Death Dopant examined them before focusing on W.
"So you're the Kamen Rider!?"
"Kamen Riders." W answered, pointing at Kuuga. He then looked at Kuuga. "Get Asuka out of here, I'll deal with this. Help me out when you can."
Kuuga nodded as he took Asuka somewhere safe. Meanwhile W and the Death Dopant stared at each other before charging at each other.
W was trying to land a blow but the Death Dopant wouldn't give up that easily so he started using his scythe to not only make some distance between them but to also cause a little bit of damage as well.
"Damn, time for some ranged firepower!" W said as he pulled out a new Memory.
"TRIGGER!"
He immediately switched the Memories.
"CYCLONE-TRIGGER!"
W's dark half became blue at the sound of that before grabbing a gun and shooting the Death Dopant. He managed to land several successful shots, pushing the Death Dopant in pain. Asuka and Kuuga looked before Misato and Fuu showed up.
"You guys alright?" Misato asked, looking at Asuka and Kuuga.
The two nodded before Kuuga looked back at the fight where the Death Dopant seemingly vanished. The others looked around for him.
"Where did he go!?" W questioned before his female side detected something…familiar.
"Shinji…we have company…very familiar company." Rei said and W turned to where Rei was mentally looking.
"T-That's…!" W started while the others looked in W's direction. They see a familiar man in an all-white suit with a white fedora but it had a small rip on the edge. Asuka seemed visibly shocked while the others were confused. "Boss!?" W questioned before his right eye blinked.
"Calm down, that's not Boss." Rei said, remembering what happened. "It's not possible."
W nodded, trying to calm down but Boss didn't say anything, instead he pulled out a very familiar GaiaMemory.
"SKULL!"
This immediately caught the others, especially W, offguard before a LostDriver appeared on his waist. Boss took off his fedora and gripped his memory.
"Henshin!"
Boss placed the Memory into the belt and tilted it, making the holographic S appear.
"SKULL!"
Boss was soon donned in his Kamen Rider Skull armor before he placed on his fedora, shocking W and confirming his fears; he was facing his mentor aka Kamen Rider Skull.
"Shinji's teacher is a Kamen Rider!?" Misato exclaimed while everyone (especially Asuka and W) seemed shock.
Skull jumped over to W and started beating on him. He first kicked W away before pulling his gun out. W barely managed to jump away before rolling on the ground. As he got up, Skull was in the air and gave the faceplate of W's helmet a mid-air kick.
"Stop!" W said, begging Skull to stop this but he wasn't listening. He soon received a few punched to the gut. "Stop, Boss!"
Kuuga cringed, not being able to do anything but soon Nihlus showed up.
"What did I miss?" Nihlus asked before seeing the fight for himself. "Damn, we have to help them!" Nihlus then looked at Misato. "Misato, give Yugi your gun!"
"Huh?"
"Just trust me!" Nihlus said before Misato took out her gun and gave it to Kuuga.
"Chou henshin!" Kuuga said, going into his Pegasus form with Misato's gun turning into the Pegasus Bowgun. Meanwhile, Nihlus placed on his Driver and took his card out.
"Henshin!"
"KAMEN RIDE: DECADE!"
Nihlus soon transformed into Decade and jumped down to where W and Skull were while Kuuga fired his gun, pushing back Skull from W. Meanwhile, Decade appeared with his sword and kept slashing Skull, pushing the older detective further away from his student. W's female half took advantage of this by exchanging Memories.
"LUNA!"
"LUNA-TRIGGER!"
W fired a few shots before the shots looped around Decade and hit Skull instead. W was about to fire again before his other half stopped the female half from firing any more.
"Shinji, what are you doing!? That's not Boss!" Rei said, trying to knock some sense into Shinji.
"But he transformed into Skull! He has to be real!" W said, trying to resist but Rei was trying to place her partner back into reality.
"Get a grip, Shinji! This can't be your boss because…" Rei started as W shook his head in denial.
"Don't say it, Rei! Don't you say it!" W said.
"He's supposed to be dead!"
A lot of people, save for Decade, didn't say anything but seemed shocked at the fact that Skull was supposed to be dead for a long time. Meanwhile Skull hit Decade in the helmet with his gun before kicking him away. Kuuga then fired his bowgun again but only for Skull to perform a roll to dodge the shot before firing back. Kuuga was hit square in the chest before flying down a flight of stairs.
W was still arguing with his other half so Skull had the opportunity to take out his Memory and place it into his gun before closing said gun.
"SKULL! MAXIMUM DRIVE!"
"SKULL PUNISHER…" Skull announced as he fired rapid shots at W's torso before finishing it off with a powerful shot, causing a massive explosion that consumed W. W flew out of the explosion before he rolled down a flight of stairs. His armor turned grey and broke apart, revealing a very worn out Shinji. He was struggling to get up before his fedora fell off.
Skull arrived at the top of the stairs before seeing Shinji struggling to get his fedora. Skull took his own fedora off before reverting back to Boss. He placed on his hat as he looked at Shinji with an indifferent expression.
"Didn't I tell you that hats don't suit guys who are halfboiled, Shinji?" Boss asked as Shinji just looked at him. Everyone else looked at the two while Decade and Kuuga reverted back, seeing that this fight is already over. "You haven't grown at all. Just quit already while you have the chance." Boss warned before leaving.
"Did you see that, Kamen Riders? That is proof that I can revive the dead at will!" The Death Dopant taunted before Shinji gave up on trying to grab his fedora and just passed out.
"Shinji!"
Everyone ran up to him while Asuka just looked at the direction that Boss walked off to. Nihlus looked surprised as he went to Shinji to help him up.
Unknown to him and everyone else, Dark Decade and Shadow Moon were watching with Dark Decade eating a bag of popcorn.
"Well my lord, is it everything you hoped for?" Shadow Moon asked.
"Even better, they need resolve now to fight. If they lose it, it's easy pickings for me. If they find it…it'll certainly make the Rider War more interesting for us, right?"
"Indeed, my lord. It is a win-win situation for us."
"So no interfering is needed except…" Dark Decade stared at the Death Dopant flying away.
(At the Hitachi Studio)
Nihlus was in his room, adjusting his camera and thinking about what happened. He sees two officers approach a seemingly depressed Shinji outside his window. Fuu then came in and watched all of this with Nihlus.
"Man, Shinji is really depressed about all of this." Fuu remarked.
"He has good reason to be. His own mentor came back and kicked his ass." Nihlus recalled.
"How could he not stand his ground against him?" Fuu asked.
"Shinji's mentor was the closest thing he had to a father since his own father ignored him for the entirety of his childhood. When Boss died, Shinji blamed himself for it."
"But that wasn't his fault, was it?"
"It's a long story." Nihlus explained as he watched Shinji leave the Agency while one of the officers left something for Shinji before leaving. The two then saw Asuka leaving with the file, catching Nihlus and Fuu's attention.
"What's she doing with that? Isn't that for Shinji?" Fuu wondered as she watched Asuka leave.
'If this is anything like the movie then Asuka must be…' Nihlus's eyes then widened.
"Oh my god…" Nihlus muttered and Fuu took note of that.
"What's wrong?"
"N-Nothing, just had a thought. I-I'm going to check on Shinji and Rei." Nihlus said before leaving the room, making Fuu tilt her head in curiosity.
When he got outside, he found Rei looking at him.
(At the Sonozaki Mansion)
The family was having a huge Christmas party with lots of good food nearby, guests, and a giant tree to fit the Christmas atmosphere. Ryubee was greeting some of his guests before noticing Gendo among his guests.
"Commander Ikari, I didn't expect you to accept my invitation." Ryubee stated, genuinely surprised that Gendo would come to his Christmas party.
"I'll be honest, Sonozaki. While it is true that I may not like you or do not like to tend these kind of events but it is important to unwind every now and then." Gendo explained. "Also I was thinking…can we talk about this in private?" Gendo requested.
Ryubee thought about it. There was no harm in just talking to Gendo despite how unpleasant he can be. Plus it was Christmas time, tis the season of giving.
"Sure, we talk over there." Ryubee said, pointing at an empty hall.
Gendo nodded before the two older men went over to the hall and discuss private business. Wakana noticed but decided to wave it off because her father can take care of himself plus her older sister and brother-in-law were over here for the holidays. She soon saw Saeko and her husband Kirihiko before going to them to greet.
"It has been a while hasn't it, Oneechan?" Wakana asked Saeko.
"It has, things have been going well in Fuuto but I've also heard a very interesting rumor regarding Tokyo-3." Saeko said. "There were was a rumor that the dead are coming back to life."
Wakana seemed to smile as she knew what the direct source of this rumor was; the Dopant.
"Yes, Tousama did give a special Memory as a Christmas present." Wakana said, explaining the source of the rumor.
"I see, well maybe I should stay over to observe this interesting Memory and its power." Saeko said with her little sister nodding in agreement.
"Indeed, it would be definitely interesting to see such a Memory in power and use." Wakana agreed while another lady who was attending the party overheard their conversation and looked at her male partner.
"My lady?" The man asked while the lady just smiled.
"Dark Decade is going to like this." The lady said as she and the male then left the party.
Meanwhile Kirihiko was watching Gendo and Ryubee talking and while he was wondering what they were talking about, he was also interested in the Memory that was bringing people back from the dead.
"For once, we are in agreement, Commander Ikari." Ryubee smiled. He was quite surprised that Gendo would even consider buying a GaiaMemory let alone actually doing it.
"Yes, it seems that we are." Gendo said. Ever since W has arrived in Tokyo-3 and played a huge role in eliminating the Angels, Gendo feared that W would not only disrupt his Scenario but he would also find out about the Scenario and SEELE. In an attempt to prevent this, Gendo decided to buy a top-tier GaiaMemory as a last restort to confront W should he decide to go far in his disruption. "There is a specific type of Memory I'm looking for but I would like to see your whole range of products."
"Certainly, certainly, I'll get to that when need be but for now, we should celebrate the holidays, should we not?" Ryubee said, adopting a bright smile.
"I suppose so." Gendo said, with his neutral face still staying but he was mentally smiling. He was happy to know that he has a safeguard against the Kamen Rider should the need arise too.
"A toast!" Ryubee offered as he and Gendo walked back into the main party room. "Merry Christmas!"
"Merry Christmas!" Everyone, except Gendo, cheered. Meanwhile Dark Decade's representative heard everything regarding Gendo's transaction before approaching the Sonozaki children.
"Excuse me but I couldn't help but overhear your conversation." The woman said.
"What of it?"
"Let's say I represent a friend of your father…"
(With Asami)
Asami was in her apartment about to sleep before she felt a presence nearby. She looked out her window to see the Death Dopant floating.
"I bet that detective won't be coming back." The Death Dopant said as he was still smiling over the fact that he not only defeated Kamen Rider W in the form of his mentor but also broke his spirit to continue the case.
"Is it true? Is it true that I will be able to live with my sister again?" Asami asked, remembering the deal that she made with the Death Dopant.
"Yes, as long as you accept my request…"
Asami seemed hesitant but she wants to do everything she can to bring her sister back from the dead.
"I will do as you ask." Asami answered, desperate to save her sister.
The Death Dopant nodded.
"Very good, I am the only one who can save you." The Death Dopant said as he flew away, leaving Asami all by herself.
(The next morning)
Shinji was on a boat with a bouquet of flowers. The boat was heading towards the island where the Begins' Night case took place. When he was close enough, he paid the boat driver who soon left while Shinji placed flowers on a makeshift memorial stone.
"Visiting a grave?" A familiar female voice asked.
Shinji turned and saw Rei twirling one of his fedoras in her hand with Nihlus next to her.
"Your Boss's grave, that is." Rei clarified.
"You two! But how?" Shinji asked, wondering how she knew where he was or why.
Rei just gestured to what was behind her and Shinji looked to see the HardSplasher, the boat form of the HardBoiler.
"Nihlus told me where you'd be and even though we never found the body, I suppose that was some comfort for you. How half-boiled…that's so like you." Rei commented, irritating Shinji even further.
"You…" Shinji then grabbed Rei's collar before pulling her face lose to his with a pissed off look. "Say that to my face again!"
Rei just smiled as she looked at their position while Nihlus just watched, knowing that this is something personal between the two detectives.
"Don't you remember, Shinji? When we first met, you grabbed my collar like this too." Rei mused, triggering old memories in both of their minds.
Shinji lets go of Rei.
"Yeah, that's right." Shinji recalled.
"Don't you remember, Shinji? That first time we became Kamen Rider W. The night that started it all…the events of Begins' Night." Rei asked as she looked at the ruined building where she was once took residence in, making GaiaMemories.
Shinji soon looked at the ruined building himself.
"Yeah, that's right. Maybe if I did what he told me to do…he might still be alive." Shinji said as the two recalled everything.
Nihlus then decided to speak up.
"I know it isn't my place to ask this but…what exactly happened there?" Nihlus asked but had an anxious expression.
"I screwed up…" Shinji said as he told the part of how he screwed up.
(A couple years ago)
Shinji saw Rei for the first time in his life and was about to go after her.
"Is that her?" Shinji was about to follow until Boss' word echoed in his head.
"Hold this and stay here. Don't take a step away from here."
Shinji looked back at Skull who was still fight and back in the direction that the girl was in.
"No." Shinji said to himself. "If I save her, Boss will definitely see me in a new light."
And with that, Shinji followed the girl to a green lit room.
"Hey. Are you the Child of Fate?" Shinji asked wondering what her response would be. The girl just simply looked at him with a cold and emotionless face.
"Who are you?" the girl asked. Shinji could tell the coldness and emotionless tone in that voice.
"You're not one of the people who work here." The girl observed before facing away and continued walking towards the room. "You do not appear to have the intelligence to be chosen by the organization or the commander."
"What was that!?" Shinji snapped. "How dare you speak to an elder that way!"
The girl went to terminal before observing Shinji further. "From the looks of it, you and I are not that different when it comes to age." The girl stated before going back to the monitor.
Shinji looked around the room which appeared to be some type of lab before noticing something familiar in a glass case; GaiaMemories like the ones the dopants used.
"GaiaMemory!" he gasped. "You…You made them!?" Shinji asked but the girl paid no attention to him. "Hey!" Shinji said getting her attention.
"Hm?" The girl looked at Shinji then at the briefcase. She grabbed the briefcase and opened it much to Shinji's protests.
Inside was a LostDriver like Skull's except there is another slot on the left with a gold rim. In the top part of the case were six GaiaMemories which were similar to Skull's. There were 3 with a silver tip with the letters C (Cyclone), H (Heat), L (Luna). The other 3 had a golden tip with the letters J (Joker), M (Metal), and T (Trigger).
"Fascinating…" the girl said before showing them to Shinji. " Who came up with these? The person who uses the Driver can become one with me. You can use two memories…with my newfound intelligence, the ultimate super human will be born and everything in the commander's plan will be improved."
Shinji then snapped. He couldn't take it anymore watching the girl examining the devices like a ten year old receiving gift on Christmas morning. He grabbed her and looked at her with a disgusted look on his face.
"What's so fascinating, you damn devil!" Shinji growled in anger. "Do you know how many tears have been spilled because of the Memories you bastards made?!"
"Are people who work in a gun factory criminals?" the girl countered. Shinji just stared at her not knowing how to respond. "Of course not. The only fault lies in the people who use the guns for crimes. I merely want to see more Memories that can benefit Commander Gendo Ikari." Shinji was mad enough but after hearing his bastard of a father's name, it pushed him to the edge.
"SHUT UP!" Shinji snapped pushing the girl causing her to drop the case. She fell into some sort of chamber that soon teleported her away. Shinji became stunned at his actions before examining the chamber.
At the same time the blunette found herself in some sort of crystal capsule on the roof of the building.
"I was teleported to the GaiaTower?" the girl asked herself as she examined her surroundings. Soon she heard something was charging.
"Baka!"
Boss, who was out of his Rider form, slapped Shinji in frustration. Shinji looked down at his mistake while Boss continued.
"Why didn't you do as I said? If you hadn't pushed that girl, right now…" Shinji then looked down with only one thought in his head.
'It's all my fault'
As the duo reached up to the roof Shinji kept guard while Boss was trying to get the girl out. Boss placed his hand on the capsule which made a light before the girl can finally stepped out. The alarms went off and Shinji notices an attack chopper coming in their direction.
"Boss! We have to leave!" Shinji yelled urging the other to hurry.
As they made their way out more henchmen appeared on the balcony. Three of them drew their guns… and shot Boss in the back.
"Boss!" Shinji yelled as he went to his mentor's side getting down at his eye level.
"Boss!"
"Shinji…Please continue this case for me." Boss grunted knowing he doesn't have much time left for him. "I'm done for." Boss then used the last of strength to pick up his hat and placed it on Shinji's head.
"The girl…" Boss then looked at the girl and looked back at Shinji. "Please take care of her."
"Boss…Please forgive me. The hat is too soon for me. I'm not ready yet!" Shinji yelled as he started to form tears in his eyes.
Boss just looked up at him and smiled. "Then become a suitable man for it." And with that Boss, the greatest man Shinji has known most of his life, has died.
"BOSS!"
The mourning was cut short as a bulge began to grow and glowed purple. It then exploded dragging Boss' body and pushing Shinji away. The female dopant rose and started firing at them as did the rest.
Shinji and the girl ran to a safe distance but when they reached the stairway the two noticed the chopper facing them from the window. The chopper started firing and the two took cover on the stairs.
"That's when Rei and I…"
The girl looked at the briefcase before opening them and showing the inside to Shinji again.
"Do you have the courage to ride with devil?" the girl asked. Shinji, knowing there was no other option, grabbed the Driver and placed on his waist. The second he did a similar on formed on the girl's waist. Shinji grabbed the Joker, Trigger, and Metal Memories before placing the Metal and Trigger away. The girl grabbed the Cyclone, Heat, and Luna Memories before putting the Heat and Luna Memories away.
With a roar from Shinji the two stood up and placed the Joker and Cyclone memories in their respective slots. As soon as they did a white light enveloped them. As soon as it faded a warrior in armor appeared. He had a white line down the middle, on the left side his armor was black with a purple highlight and the right was the same except the armor was green and the highlight was a light green. On his helmet he had a W shaped antennae and red glowing compound eyes.
"...transformed for the first time."
The warrior faced the chopper before summoning a gust of wind which he used to blow the chopper away. From that day forth, Kamen Rider W was born.
When the chopper crashed, W looked at himself.
"What's going on? What happened to me!?" W asked, not quite used to being in this armor before his right eye blinked.
"I see you don't know your way around this yet." Rei commented.
Soon more of the building collapsed before floor crumbled, making W and Rei's body fall. As they were falling, Fang Memory appeared and grabbed Rei's body by the collar with its teeth before landing in a safe area while W landed next to it.
W looked at Fang memory as its head lit up. W's eye blinked at the response.
"I see." Rei said as she made W stand, walk over to her body, and place the DoubleDriver back in its original position before taking out the Cyclone Memory, reverting W back to Shinji.
"Huh? What the heck is going on?" Shinji asked as he examined himself before Rei woke up and stood in front of Shinji.
"Let's switch." Rei proposed as Fang Memory stood on her shoulder. "Don't worry, the two of us are getting out of here."
"Okay, um…"
"Rei. Rei Ayanami." Rei said as she felt pride for the first time when saying that name. She then held out the palm of her hand before Fang Memory jumped down onto it.
Rei then transformed it into its Memory form before pressing its button.
"FANG!"
"Henshin!" Rei said before Shinji's Joker Memory vanished with Shinji passing out.
Rei soon saw the Joker Memory appear in the left slot of her Driver. She pushed it in before inserting Fang in the free slot.
"FANG-JOKER!"
Rei soon transformed into W and it was a matter of time before both halves of W roared at the top of their lungs.
The Masquerade Dopants soon appeared, trying to investigate the noise before W saw them and charged.
W tackled one before swatting at him like an animal before others came to try to take her down. W, however, proved to have an advantage thanks to the power boost she got from the Fang Memory.
W was making quick work of the Masquerade Dopants before tapping the horn once on her belt.
"ARM FANG!"
W received her arm blade before she started slashing the henchmen very viciously.
"What…is that power!?" The female Dopant from before wondered.
W just ran through a majority of all the Masquerade Dopants, before tapping the horn on Fang Memory twice.
"SHOULDER FANG!"
W threw the boomerang, slashing all the Dopants before more of the building exploded. W then grabbed Shinji's body before running out with the rest of the building exploding.
(Present)
"And that was how Rei and I became W." Shinji finished his tale. "I've been fighting all this time to atone for the sins of that day."
Rei turned to look at Nihlus, who nodded. Rei then took a deep breath before she turned towards her partner.
"There is…one thing you don't know about Begins' Night." Rei said, immediately getting Shinji's attention.
(A couple years ago)
Boss placed his hand on the capsule which made a bright light and soon he was in the GaiaLibrary. He looked around and saw Rei sitting with her back against one of the shelves and her knees against her chest.
"Well, shall we go?" Boss asked while Rei just stared at him.
"If you're here…then you must be what they call 'a fearsome man'." Rei blankly remarked, slightly surprised that Boss came here.
Boss got close to her and crouched before examining her facial expression.
"Answer me honestly on this; have you ever made a decision for yourself?" Boss asked.
Rei thought about it. All her life, for what memories still lie in her head, people have been using her; Gendo, SEELE, and the people of this facility. Not once has she ever made a decision just by and for herself. Rei looked at Boss and shook her head, giving her answer.
"Then you start today." Boss said as he stood up. "Decide for yourself to leave this dark jail. And when you're free…you will count up your sins."
Rei got up and looked at Boss.
"My…sins?"
"What is your name?"
"My name is…Rei Ayanami." Rei said, feeling that name was more of a label than a real name.
"Rei Ayanami….I like it." Boss said, surprising Rei.
"Eh?" That was a first for Rei, to hear that somebody genuinely liked her name.
"'Rei' means 'zero' while 'Ayanami' meant 'design'." Boss explained. "While your name means 'nothing but design', you can design it however you want. Make it mean something with the decisions that only you yourself can make."
"My own decisions…" Rei thought about it. All this time she felt as if something was missing and it turns out…it was her identity. She allowed Gendo and the others to take advantage of her by telling her what to do without any resistance. They made their own sins by doing that and Rei wasn't going to take it anymore. She soon smiled and accepted Boss's invitation.
…
"BOSS!" Shinji mourned at Boss's corpse while Rei just looked shock.
She then looked at her own hand before feeling guilt. While it is true that Gendo and others made sins by abusing her, Rei herself made her own sins by not doing anything. She knew GaiaMemories were bad, she made them but she didn't do anything about it. Because Rei didn't resist or try to escape, she made powerful memories that will no doubt be used by very bad people. And worst of all, she led Boss here…to be killed.
His blood was on her hand because she didn't do anything.
"My…sins…" Rei muttered, now having a full grasp of what atrocities she committed; especially Boss's murder. She then looked at the DoubleDriver case. "My…"
(Present)
"Your sin is making a decision on your own…while my sin is living a life without making decision. "We have a duty to be on, and to continue atoning for our sins. That's why we became W."
"You…You and Nihlus came here to me remember that…"
"I can't keep going without you. Not as a detective nor as a Kamen Rider."
"That's right." Shinji said, knowing that.
"I will ask the question from that day once more, Shinji. From here to the future…do you have the courage to ride with the devil?" Rei asked, offering the fedora that was in her hand.
Shinji took the fedora before looking at it. He then thought about it. Sure, he was ashamed of what happened to Boss and does think the blame is on him but…
"Shinji." Nihlus called and Shinji looked at him. "I know this isn't my place to say this but...what would Boss say to you as a fellow detective, not mentor to student? You know how being a detective is, would one do something like this?"
Shinji thought about it before smiling. He has to do this, to give Asami…and himself some closure. Shinji placed on the fedora with a determined look on his face.
Both Rei and Nihlus smiled before Rei got a call on her phone. Rei looked at Caller ID before her eyes widened and gave the phone to Shinji.
"Hello?" Shinji answered.
"It's me, baka." Asuka replied, much to Shinji's surprise.
"Asuka?"
"For now, I've got Asami marked. I've already given Wondergirl and Nihlus the investigation reports from Officer Hitari."
"Huh?" Rei then handed the reports to Shinji. "You did this investigation all on your own!?"
"Of course, don't doubt me, baka! Asami is our client, after all!"
Shinji's eyes widened as he remembered a similar phrase spoken by Boss.
"It is my client's request." Boss's words echoed through Shinji's head.
"I learned that from a very important person. Bak-Shinji, can you please tell me about him someday." Asuka requested, surprising Shinji. He had no idea that she knew the Boss. "'To a detective, the most important thing to them is their client.' That's what the person once said to me. Didn't really think about it until now."
"I see…" Shinji said while Rei and Nihlus smirked at each other. "What are you two on about?"
"Nothing." The two responded as Shinji then focused on the call.
"Asuka, when I get back...I'll tell you everything you want to know."
"Eh?"
"Just wait for me."
"O-Okay." Asuka said before the two hung up.
Soon Shinji looked at Rei and Nihlus and smiled before deciding to focus on the case.
"Rei, we're looking up the culprit. Get ready to enter the GaiaLibrary." Shinji instructed, earning a nod from Rei.
She stepped up and closed her eyes, going into the GaiaLibrary.
"The search subject is 'culprit's identity'." Shinji instructed. "Keywords: Death and…Erika Mutsuki."
"That's no good." Nihlus intervened. "Rei searched those up early in the case so the book size isn't narrowed down."
Shinji started thinking before decided to look into the police reports for any clues that'll lead to new keywords.
"The reports…the police might have information from similar incidents." Shinji said as Nihlus joined him in looking at the reports.
Nihlus and Shinji started reading them before Nihlus noticed a pattern.
"Shinji, look at the dates." Nihlus pointed and Shinji did before his eyes widened. All of these reports were handed in during the 19th of each month. He even recalled Asami's words.
"Five days ago, my sister…"
"Five days before Christmas Eve…"Shinji then quickly walked up to Rei. "Rei, I have a new keyword for you…Keyword: the 19th."
Rei placed in that keyword before all the shelves disappeared, leaving only one book.
"I got it." Rei said as she looked at the cover which was labeled, "Priest". Soon after reading, Rei opened her eyes and looked at Shinji. "The book's title was 'Priest'. A priest started an association of darkness and silence. It had drawn circles of famous people. It occurs every month on the 19th."
"A priest?" That was when Shinji remembered meeting a priest during his early investigation, recalling how the man himself seemed fascinated with death. "Yosh, ikuze, aibou!"
Shinji and Rei ran towards the HardSplasher before looking at Nihlus, recalling that this vehicle was meant for two.
"Sorry, but I don't think we have any room to spare for you." Shinji apologized, feeling a little bad to have to resort to leaving a fellow Rider by himself.
"Don't worry about me, I have my own way around." Nihlus said, holding his Clock Up card. "I'll meet up with Asuka and the others."
Shinji and Rei nodded before the two got on the HardSplasher and drove. Nihlus smiled, seeing that their resolve is back. Nihlus got his Driver on and took out his card.
"Henshin!"
"KAMEN RIDE: DECADE!"
Nihlus then transformed into Decade before using a card.
"ATTACK RIDE: CLOCK UP!"
Decade's perception of time slowed down before he approved his own hypothesis correct. He was fast enough to run on water. Decade started running on the water as he made his way back to Tokyo-3. Hopefully he could make it to the others in no time flat.
(With Asuka and the others)
Asuka, Fuu, and Yugi were following Asami before they saw her at the church with the priest. Asuka's eyes widened as she recognized the priest from before, meaning that he is the Dopant. She quickly returned got on the phone and called Shinji while Yugi and Fuu resumed spying on the priest.
"I found the priest who was at the tombstone! We're going after them!" Asuka then hung up before the three went after them.
They soon went into the church while the priest seemed to be leading Asami to a certain room.
"This way…" The priest gestured as he went in first.
Asami looked around before she noticed the three come in.
"You guys!" Asami recognized as the three ran up to her.
"You have to get out of here, it isn't safe!" Fuu said, confusing Asami.
"That priest is the Dopant. It's not safe being near him." Asuka added.
"It's okay." Asami said, surprising the three.
"Eh?"
"I already know he isn't an ordinary person but despite that…I can live with Oneechan again." Asami said with the hope of seeing Erika again.
Asuka just tightly clenched her hands as she felt something familiar when regarding her mother.
"Idiot…the dead don't come back to life!"
Before Asami could say anything, the priest appeared.
"Did you know…my true identity?" The priest asked. "In that case…"
Yugi was about to summon his Arcle but the priest used a tranquilizer gun on him and Fuu, knocking them out.
"I'll tend to them later but as for you two…"
Outside, Decade arrived and reverted back to Nihlus before heading inside. He sees his two friends knocked out and immediately went to them.
"Yugi! Fuu! Are you two okay!? Say something!" Nihlus said as he shook his friends. Fuu, thanks to her ninja training and her bond with Nanabi , woke up first.
"Nihlus?"
"Fuu, what happened? Where are Asuka and Asami?" Nihlus asked but he had a good idea of where they are, given that he watched the original Movie War movie.
Fuu then looked at the crypt as Yugi finally woke up. Soon Shinji and Rei arrived and Nihlus gestured at the crypt, making the two detectives nod as they went in there first. They saw Asami with the priest.
"No!" Asami broke the grip and looked back at the priest. "Why did you do this!?"
The priest just ignored her.
"You too should sleep eternally…and continue to dream of your sister."
Shinji and Rei nodded before sending out their STAG phones in their robotic form. They flew and hit the priest a couple of times before Asami got away at a safe distance.
"Stop right there!" Shinji said as he, Rei, Nihlus, Fuu, and Yugi arrived.
"Everyone!" Asuka exclaimed as she got herself out of the coffin.
"You bastards!" The priest cursed.
"President of the Association of Darkness and Silence, Robert Shijima." Shinji called. "No…Death Dopant."
Asuka soon got Asami to a safe distance and behind Fuu and Yugi. Nihlus looked back at the two.
"Guys, let me, Shinji, and Rei take care of this." Nihlus said, earning surprised looks but they nodded nonetheless.
"Damn you people…Fine, I'll show you my power over life and death." Robert said as he took the Memory out and inserted it into his arm. He laughed maniacally as he was covered in a bright light before he vanished.
The lights went a little dim before…
"I won't hold back this time, Shinji." A familiar voice said.
Shinji had a hardened look as he and others look to see Boss emerging and closing one of the coffins.
"Boss…"
"This man is someone you could never defy. What will you do?" The Death Dopant asked as Boss pulled out his Memory and took off his hat.
"SKULL!"
"Henshin!"
"SKULL!"
The man turned into Skull before placing his fedora back on. Shinji immediately got in front of Asami to protect her.
"Shinji, this is not a place you should be at." Skull warned as he walked over to the girl with only Shinji in between them.
"Boss, this girl is my client!"
"So what? Are you going to defy me again? Do you want to kill me again?" Skull asked, making Shinji freeze a bit.
"Shinji, don't listen to what he has to say!" Nihlus warned.
"Shinji, move!" Skull said once more.
As Shinji stood there, he remembered the time he had with Boss when he was still alive up to his death. While remembering, several words from and about him echoed through Shinji's head before he had an angry expression…and punched Skull in the jaw, making his fist bleed a little.
"I will fight for my client." Shinji said, sounding resolute. "Even if my life is at stake…I will keep following your teachings. If you yourself get in the way…then I will fight. The real you…lives on only in my heart."
"That's right." Nihlus said. He looks at Shinji and Rei before looking back at Skull. "They committed and acknowledged their sins on that day. They counted it up and as retribution and in honor of you…they will fight together as partners. The two will always be together to stop the tears of this city, no matter what. And, they will get to the truth and will fight for their client as both detectives and one Rider. A fellow Rider should at least respect because deep down in their hearts, they know that the real you does while this you… is discriminating that memory!" They then heard the Death Dopant's voice.
"Impossible! Who are you, people!?" Shinji started.
"I am… No. We are..." Shinji looks back at Rei who is now smiling. "…mementos of Boss. The two of us are a single detective…and a single Kamen Rider!" Nihlus got out his Decadriver.
"And, I'm just a passing-through Kamen Rider. Remember that." Nihlus said as he got out his card and opened the Driver. Shinji and Rei then got out their Memories.
"Ikuze, Rei!"
"JOKER!"
"Hai, aibou." Rei said when she took her partner's side. The others just smiled at this scene.
"CYCLONE!"
"Henshin!" The three riders said. Nihlus placed his card in the buckle and closed it.
"KAMEN RIDE: DECADE!"
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
While Shinji was turning into W, Decade went behind Rei and caught her when she collapsed. Decade dragged her to a safe place and joined his fellow Rider. The three stared at each other before charging. Decade and W were dodging and countering Skull's punches. It wasn't until W grabbed Skull and literally went through the wall with Decade in pursuit.
Asami looked surprised before they see Yugi and Fuu carrying Rei by the legs and arms.
"Get out of here and into safety, Asami." Asuka said as the three got out with Asami watching them go.
Outside Decade grabbed his Ride Booker and transformed into a sword. He placed a card in his Driver and closed it.
"ATTACK RIDE: SLASH!"
Decade's sword started glowing pink and two silhouettes appeared. He started slashing at Skull and down on the ground with his armor smoking. W picked him up and started punching him. He soon let go and gave him a spinning aerial kick.
"Shinji, don't you care what happens to me? Do you want to kill me again?" W soon got out the Heat Memory, having enough of this bullshit.
"HEAT-JOKER!"
W's right fist then became burning red and when Skull got up, W punched him in the face. When Skull got down he transformed back into Father Shijima. He looks down at his damaged GaiaMemory and attempts to plug it into himself. He did and started to transform right around the girls came out with Rei's body.
"DUMMY!"
When he transforms, the Riders sees several figures before turning into the Death Dopant. W's eye started blinking.
"I see now! The D doesn't stand for Death, it stands for Dummy!" W then got out the Trigger Memory.
"HEAT-TRIGGER!"
W got his gun out and Decade soon turned his sword into a gun. The two then started firing until the 'Death Dopant' transforms again. He now had silver armor which didn't match at all. The Riders and the girls stood surprised.
"That's his true form? Looks crappy." Asuka commented.
"I have the ability to have any talent! I lure the bigwigs' in town with their loved ones' deaths, then I become them! I was able to enjoy so many gorgeous lifestyles."
Asuka grabbed out a green slipper and hit the Dopant in the head.
"How disgusting! You three, get him!" W and Decade nodded.
"You don't need to tell us twice." Shinji said from his side. W pointed at the Dummy Dopant and both halves said.
"Saa, omae no tsumi kazoero!"
"If we did then we'll be here all night." Decade stated. The two then shot him again but before they can do anything else, they heard two mechanical voices.
"ADVENT!"
They were soon attacked by Metalgelas and Venosnaker, who appeared for a brief moment before disappearing.
"What the hell was that!?" Yugi asked, surprised as was everyone else.
Decade see that it was Kamen Riders Gai and Ouja, Dark Riders that worked for Dark Decade.
"Let me guess; Dark Riders?" Rei asked.
Decade nodded.
"Let's hope Dark Decade and Museum are grateful for this." Ouja said as he stretched his neck.
"More Riders!?"
"Relax, old man. We were sent here to rescue you." Gai said.
"The boss only wants to use your power so be grateful." Ouja stated. The two Riders pulled out two more cards. They placed it in their Visors.
"STRIKE VENT!"
"SWORD VENT!"
Gai then got gauntlet that had a Rhino's horn while got a sword that was modeled after a Snake's tooth. W got the Metal Memory.
"HEAT-METAL!"
W pulled out his staff and Decade got out his Ride Booker in sword form while the girls got to a safe place. W took on Gai while Decade fought Ouja. W was trying hard to hit Gai but despite his heat based attacks their barely doing any damage to him.
"That tickles!" Gai commented before hitting W in the chest. W flew back and got up with his default Memories.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
W charged again. Decade wasn't having an easy time with Ouja either. Ouja was a trained killer so even out of his Rider form he's just as dangerous. While fighting the Dummy Dopant ran away, the two Dark Riders noticed.
"Hey, he's getting away!" Gai noted.
"That ungrateful pig!" Ouja said, agreeing with his partner. He then took out a card from his deck. "Looks like, I have to use the card the boss gave me." He then threw it at the Dummy Dopant's back and soon went in. The Dummy Dopant groaned in pain before transforming. His armor was more bulky and intimidating, he got bigger, and his hands turned to claws. The new Dummy Dopant turned around and went to Ouja's and Gai's side.
"That's better." Gai commented.
"Destroy them!" Ouja ordered and the new Dummy Dopant charged at W and Decade. This new Dopant was attacking like a monster and easily overwhelmed the two Riders. When Decade got up his Ride Booker opened and ejected three cards. He caught them and when he looked at them, the cards now had color with W's face and themes. Rei noticed.
"Is that the trump card?" Decade nodded.
"Shinji, Rei, this might tickle a bit." W stood confused and Decade placed one of the golden cards in his belt and closed it.
"FINAL FORM RIDE: D-D-DOUBLE (W)!"
Decade placed his fingers deep into the line that separated W. He then literally split W apart. The halves soon materialized their own halves turning them into Kamen Rider Double Cyclone and Kamen Rider Double Joker. Each of them also had two of the same Memories in their Drivers.
"CYCLONE-CYCLONE!"
Kamen Rider Double Cyclone looked at Double Joker.
"Shinji?"
"JOKER-JOKER!"
"Rei!" Everyone was surprised when they saw this transformation.
"He…split them apart." Fu commented.
The two halves looked at the new Dopant with Gai and Ouja.
"So what? You two don't seem that tough." Ouja said.
"Let's prove him wrong." Decade commented as he charged.
"Ikuze, Rei."
"Hai, Shinji." Double Cyclone and Double Joker charged along with Decade. Gai tried hitting Double Cyclone but she was too agile. She then punched Gai in the chest before placing one of her Memories into the Maximum Drive slot.
"CYCLONE! MAXIMUM DRIVE!"
Double Cyclone's right foot was then consumed by a miniature green tornado.
"RIDER KICK!"
She did a spinning kick to the helmet. When she did, he literally flew a few inches away before landing head first onto a grave stone.
Double Joker was countering Ouja's punches and hitting him back. Ouja got out his saber and to his surprise his saber was blocked by his arm. Double Joker placed one of his Memories in the slot as well.
"JOKER! MAXIMUM DRIVE!"
His fist soon became consumed by a purple flame.
"RIDER PUNCH!"
He then punched Ouja in the chest before he crashed into Gai, who just got up. The two halves looked at each and it wasn't hard to tell they were smiling at each other.
"Hey guys! A little help here!" Decade said while fighting the new Dummy Dopant. The two halves joined in and fought as well. While fighting Decade took out another gold card and placed it in his belt before closing it.
"FINAL ATTACK RIDE: D-D-DOUBLE (W)!"
"Ikuze!" Decade said before he jumped in the air. The others soon followed. Decade aimed with his right foot while Double Cyclone and Double Joker aimed with both of their feet. When they hit him there was a massive explosion. Decade and W, who just merged back, got out and Gai and Ouja got up.
"This isn't good. Let's get out of here! Dark Decade is gonna kill us for this." Gai said before he summoned a Gray Mirror. Ouja just growled before he joined his fellow Rider. When they were gone W and Decade stared each other before shaking hands.
(Later at the Hitachi Studio)
"It's a shame that we couldn't go to their Christmas party." Mr. Hitachi said as he was sweeping the place. Fuu and Yugi were trying to hold their own Christmas party while Nihlus stared at the picture he took of Rei and Shinji with a smile. He also smiled at a memory of what he did before leaving the two.
(A little while ago)
Yugui and Fuu were on their way back to the studio while Nihlus looked at one of the cards that he found earlier ago before offering it to Shinji.
"It's yours." was all Nihlus said before he walked away. Shinji and the others looked at it before seeing the card had Kamen Rider Skull's picture on it. They then saw Skull, he took his hat off, and his helmet dematerialized leaving a familiar face.
"Boss!" Shinji said.
"Another Kamen Rider Skull from another world?" Rei questioned as she noticed that AR Boss had a confused expression. AR. Boss then looked at them before looking at Shinji.
"I don't know who you are, boy. But, there's something I like about you. The way you wear your hat is proof you're a full man." Shinji was speechless as he always wanted to hear those words from his Boss before AR Boss placed his hat back on. "My name is Kamen Rider Skull. Let's meet again, somewhere in this world." Was all he said before he got on his bike and drove off in a Gray Mirror. Rei then noticed something on Shinji.
"Shinji, are you crying?" Shinji shook his head.
"Hard-boiled guys don't cry. But, he said he liked the way I wore my hat." Shinji said before he took a deep breath while making sure he didn't have any tears. Unknown to the three, Nihlus was watching all of this from afar with a smile.
(Present)
"You think those two can hold their own here?" Fuu asked, referring to Shinji and Rei.
Nihlus nodded.
"If there's one thing all Kamen Rider have in common, good or bad, it's that we we don't easily give up." Nihlus said, smiling as he remembered the reunion once more.
Yugi soon came in with a chicken.
"Alright guys, I got some of that tasty Christmas chicken-Woah!" Yugi said as he tripped on a shoelace and nearly flinging the chicken in the air but luckily, he grasped the back ground change switch to stop that from happening. But then a new background dropped before it glowed for a brief few seconds, signaling the change in world.
Nihlus and the others looked to see a dark figure standing over a city with a bird-like symbol on a red flag next to him.
(In an alley)
On the walls were a series of Wanted posters with pictures, names, and prices but all of them had one thing in common. All the people are associated with a group, called "Night Raid". There was then another poster next to the one for someone named Akame which was labeled as, "Wanted: Kamen Rider Ghost". Soon that poster was torn down by the actual Kamen Rider Ghost.
AN: Alright, now that the chapter is over, I want to address a few other things including the Chelsea thing.
For the world arcs, I turn each one into three parts. It goes Introduction, Conflict, and Resolution. I would think you readers would learn that given the amount of chapters in this story, no offense.
As for Chelsea, it's been a VERY long time since I last updated this story so in between now and the last time I update, I watched a lot of anime and given a lot more attention to certain characters. Chelsea being included, given how mischievous and caring she can be at the same time. And as for a threesome, I'm not doing that. I'm not that kind of person. I made a bunch of plans with a friend of mine, SonicHeroXD who goes by the same name on DeviantArt. Be sure to check him out.
I also removed Fourze from IS because a lot of people did it already and I want to be unique.
UPDATE: There are people saying that there is a plot hole of Nihlus knowing about Ghost's world. Let me say this; Nihlus is just reading off of and looking at Ghost's card. Other than a name and slight appearance, Nihlus has no information regarding Ghost until the next chapter.
