Naruto started pranking Lockhart's hair care products and Lockhart started showing up later to his class looking fine. Lengthening the effects only made Lockhart show up later to class. So instead, Naruto focused on hiding the effects until he showed up in class.
When Lockhart came into the classroom at the beginning of class, his hair puffed up into a clown wig. All the boys started laughing at him while some of the girls shrieked and others started growling and glared at the boys. Hinata took note of the girls that were glaring. Lockhart took out a mirror and let out a girlish shriek before fainting seeing his hair.
Hinata had also noticed that when DADA was their last class of the day, a lot of girls stayed behind and did not come back until right before curfew. She noticed that some came back with vacant expressions and others with loving or content expressions. She compared them to those that were glaring and were all from the latter. She sighed as she realized the only way to find out what was happening was to join them.
At the end of the next DADA class Hinata stayed behind with Naruto and Harry with her.
"I wanted to ask you about something Professor" said Hinata.
"Sure" said Lockhart smiling.
"We will stay here until you are done," said Naruto.
"There is no reason to do that" said Lockhart quickly.
"It's fine" said Hinata.
"I will see you in the common room" she said.
"Ok" said Harry.
"We will see you later," said Naruto.
Naruto and Harry left the classroom.
Lockhart and the girls turned around and headed to a table set up at the other end of the room out of sight of the door. Hinata created a Kage Bunshin who joined the other girls and jumped into the shadows.
All the girls sat down at the table as Lockhart went into his room and came back a little while later with tea for each of the girls. All the girls started drinking theirs while Hinata looked at hers.
"Is he trying to drug me" thought Hinata.
"Go ahead," said Lockhart.
"No, thank you" said Hinata shaking her head.
"I just wanted to ask you a question" she said.
"We can talk after we have some tea" said Lockhart taking a sip of his tea.
"I am not thirsty" said Hinata pushing the teacup away.
Lockhart released a sigh while all the girls glared at Hinata.
"Looks like we will have to do this the hard way then" said Lockhart taking out his wand.
Hinata landed behind Lockhart and knocked him out with a Juken strike. All the girls growled as they got up and took out their wands. Hinata disappeared in a burst of speed and knocked out each girl with Juken strikes. After Hinata finished knocking all the girls out, she went to the door and opened it.
"All done" said Hinata.
Naruto and Harry came into the classroom and saw Lockhart and all the girls that stayed behind knocked out on the floor.
"Was it as bad as you thought" asked Naruto?
"Yes" said Hinata nodding her head.
"He tried to drug me with tea and already had all those girls under his spell" she explained.
Naruto growled at that.
"After refusing the drugged tea multiple times, he tried to attack me, and I knocked him out" explained Hinata.
"All the girls got mad and tried to attack you and you knocked them out as well," said Harry.
"Correct" said Hinata.
"I will go get Professor Dumbledore," said Harry.
Harry called Yuki and disappeared in a burst of fire. He appeared in Headmaster's office and saw Professor Dumbledore at his desk.
"What do you need Mr. Potter" asked Dumbledore?
"We have him," said Harry.
"Let's go" said Dumbledore getting up.
He grabbed onto Yuki's tail feathers and they both disappeared in a burst of fire. They reappeared in DADA classroom and Dumbledore looked around. He saw Lockhart and a bunch of girls knocked out on the floor.
"What happened" asked Dumbledore?
"Things were worse than we originally thought" said Hinata.
All three of them explained everything that happened.
"I see," said Dumbledore.
He walked over to the table and smelled the tea.
"Smell this and tell me what you smell," said Dumbledore.
Naruto, Hinata, and Harry walked over to the table and smelled the tea.
"Ramen" said Naruto.
"Chocolate" said Hinata.
"Tomatoes" said Harry.
"Why did we each smell something different" asked Naruto?
"Because Amortentia was added to it," said Dumbledore.
"It's the most powerful love potion in the world" he added.
"One of its distinctive characteristics is that its smell is whatever the person smelling it loves best" he explained.
"I will have to send them to St Mungo's for healing" he said.
"Did you see him use the memory charm" he asked?
"No" said Naruto and Harry shaking their heads.
"Are there any physical signs that it has been used" asked Hinata?
"Yes" said Dumbledore nodding his head.
"They will usually have a vacant expression until their mind can accept the memories are gone" he explained.
"I've seen some girls come back with that expression" said Hinata.
"They were probably the ones that refused the drugged tea," said Naruto.
"That is going to be another question I will need to ask him," said Dumbledore.
"Excellent work" he said.
"I will inform Hiruzen of the completed mission" he said.
The next morning during breakfast, Dumbledore announced that Lockhart had been arrested last night and now Dumbledore would be covering the class until they could find someone.
Now that the mission was over, they focused on the next thing on their list. Finding out why no one could see those horses that were pulling the carriages.
During a study session in the library, Harry came back with a book of magical creatures and started looking through it.
"What are you looking up" asked Ginny?
"Why could no one see those horses pulling the carriages," said Harry.
"There are Thestrals here," said Luna.
"Thestrals" said Harry.
He looked them up and read the description of them.
"Makes sense," said Harry.
"What does" asked Hinata?
Harry showed Naruto and Hinata the book and they both read it.
"It does" said Hinata.
"What are they" asked Ginny?
"Very misunderstood creatures," said Luna.
Harry gave Ginny the book and she read the description.
"Who did they see die" thought Ginny looking at Naruto, Hinata, and Harry.
"I would like to see them" said Luna sighing.
"They are probably in the Forbidden Forest," said Harry.
"Let's go see them" said Naruto getting up.
"We aren't supposed to go in there because of the dangerous creatures," said Ginny.
"We will be fine" said Naruto waving his hand.
"We train in there all the time" he said.
"We will protect you," said Harry.
"Let's go" said Luna getting up.
Once they all left the library, Harry put his hand on Ginny's shoulder and Hinata put her hand on Luna's shoulder. They all disappeared in a swirl of leaves. They reappeared at the front doors of the castle as Ginny and Luna stumbled.
"What was that" asked Ginny?
"Shunshin" said Naruto.
"It's moving at high speed" explained Harry.
They all went through the front door, and they all disappeared and reappeared in the Forbidden Forest. Hinata activated her Byakugan and led everyone to where the Thestrals were.
"They are beautiful" said Luna in awe.
"There is even a baby" she said.
Harry took Ginny's hand, who blushed at that, and guided her to pet one of them.
"Wow" said Ginny in awe.
James appeared in Sirius' house and sat down.
"You found another one" asked James?
"Yep" said Sirius smiling pointing to a cup.
"It was in the Lestrange Vault" he said.
"How did you get access to it" asked James?
"Since Bella never had kids, I used breach of contract to get access to their vault" explained Sirius.
"Since Lucy had one, I figured that Bella would have one too" he added.
"That makes three so far," he said.
"I wonder how many he made" asked James?
"Probably seven," said Sirius.
"Six Horcruxes and what is left of the main soul" he added.
"That must be what that dark spirit that they took out of Harry's scar was" thought James.
"I will go destroy this one" said James getting up.
"I have no more ideas on where to look for them," said Sirius.
"Maybe Dumbledore would have some more ideas," said James.
James picked up the cup and left with Yuki.
Once James destroyed the cup with Amaterasu, he picked up Sirius and went to visit Dumbledore.
Dumbledore looked up from his paperwork when he saw a burst of fire as James and Sirius appeared.
"James, Sirius," said Dumbledore.
"What is the reason for your call" he asked?
"We found out how Voldemort survived," said James.
"He created horcruxes," said Sirius.
"So, he sunk that low," said Dumbledore.
"We think he made six of them," said Sirius.
"We have destroyed four of them," said James.
"Four" exclaimed Sirius.
"But we have only found three of them," he said.
"The Yamanaka clan took a dark spirit out of Harry's scar," said James.
"Who" asked Sirius?
"Masters of the mind arts," said James.
"Can you tell what the items were and where you found them" asked Dumbledore?
"Malfoy had a muggle diary," said James.
"A locket in a cave and a cup in the Lestrange vault," said Sirius.
"Could you describe the locket and cup for me" asked Dumbledore?
Sirius described how the locket and cup looked. Dumbledore sat back and started thinking about it. A few minutes later he said, "I believe I know where another may be."
"Follow me" he said getting up.
He led both out of his office and up to the seventh floor. He walked past the painting of trolls dancing three times and a door appeared on the opposite wall.
"It's in there" exclaimed James.
"You know of this room" asked Dumbledore?
"Yes" said James nodding his head.
"This is where they train" he added.
"Why haven't they found it yet" he asked?
"Because it is in a very specific and permanent room that you get to by wanting to get rid of something" explained Dumbledore.
They all walked into a large room full of junk.
"Wow" said Sirius in awe.
"Look at all the fun stuff" he said.
"What are we looking for" asked James?
"A diadem," said Dumbledore.
All three of them spilt up and started looking for it. James eventually found it in a cupboard on a bust. He activated his Mangekyo Sharingan and said "Amaterasu"
Black flames shot out and destroyed the cupboard and everything around it. He cut it off and Yuki appeared and cried into his eye.
Seeing the flames, both Sirius and Dumbledore ran over to James.
"What was that" shouted Sirius?
"It didn't look like Fiendfyre" he said.
"It wasn't," said James.
"What was it" asked Sirius?
"Family secret," said James.
"Fine" said Sirius pouting.
"I shall begin investigating where the last one is," said Dumbledore.
"I shall inform you when I find it" he said as he left.
