Teenage girls were like locusts.

Once you had one then you had two and then three and then before you knew it they were eating you out of office and workplace. One bowl of ramen turned into ramen with extra meat which then turned into ramen with extra-extra meat which then turned into 'you know, we should get some gyoza' too which then turned into 'and some spring rolls' and then before you knew it what should have been a simple ramen dinner turned into full on dim sum.

And this wasn't even the Chinese fusion place!

That would have broken the bank. This was…a place that she could afford. Sort of. Between all the kids and her weekly, sometimes bi-weekly, and occasionally tri-weekly date nights. Her frequent late nights jaunts to Shein and Wish didn't help either…huh. Maybe her mom had been right and she was fiscally irresponsible. She hadn't really needed all of those new clothes…well, she was going out more and she needed more going out clothes and less work clothes…and clothes needed shoes…and it was all so cheap…

Ok, yeah, maybe she needed to slow down.

"Alright, does everyone finally have everything that they need?" asked Reigen as she stirred her ramen, this time without extra meat, slowly. They had picked through just about everything, they had to have been done…right?

Right?

"You know what we need? Some more spring rolls. Garson!" said Tome snapping her fingers. Reigen groaned and rubbed her temples. Of course they weren't done….of course.

"Tome, manners." Said Reigen, sounding more like her mother than she had ever wanted to.

"Well I never! Such language!" said Tome

"It's not even a French place." Said Mob as she reached her chopsticks out for the last spring roll. Tome reached out with hers and slapped Mob's away.

"Mob, manners." Said Tome

"Oh, right. Sorry. Does anyone want the last spring roll?" asked Mob

"Tome's going to take it when we're distracted." Said Rei before she drank the last of her broth.

"By what?" asked Mob. Just as she finished asking someone bumped into a table sending what must have been a small fortune worth of precious ramen and tea down to the floor. If Reigen had been wearing a hat she would have taken it off in respect. Unfortunately she was not so she would have to show her respect in another way.

By saving the last spring roll.

"And Reigen's going to stop her." said Rei. Tome glared at her.

"You could have said something…." muttered Tome, in that tone that barely qualified as a mutter. Rei held her hands up in surrender.

"I can only see the future as it comes to me and it changes a lot." Said Rei

"Master Reigen probably wasn't sure if she wanted it, that's all. It's not Rei's fault, or really Master Reigen's. It's…I'm not sure if it's really anyone's fault." Said Mob diplomatically.

"Guys, really, it's just a spring roll. It's not worth going to war over." Said Reigen

"People have gone to war over less. Lives have been lost, blood has been spilt, entire families torn apart in the name of-" said Tome, trying to rise to her feet as she often did. Mob, thankfully, was stopping her. Her hair was starting to sway in a breeze that didn't exist, a telltale sign that she was using her powers. Reigen wondered what, exactly, had pushed her this far. It was just a freaking spring roll!

"Are you three seriously about to kill each other over a spring roll? Don't your parents feed you?" asked Reigen

"I wasn't going to kill anyone!" gasped Mob, clearly scandalized.

"Not with all of these witnesses." Said Tome, a look crossing her face that honestly worried Reigen a little bit.

"I haven't eaten in a long time. My mom's on this weird diet where she steams everything and then puts vinaigrette on it…it's weird. Also we can't have meat or anything that has a taste…I don't know why, she's not even that fat." Said Rei. Reigen shuddered. She too knew the horrors of having a mother on a diet.

"Rei wins, war's over." Said Reigen as she passed her the last spring roll. Rei practically squealed as she took it. Tome crossed her arms and slumped down in her chair. Mob patted her on the back.

"It's ok, Tome, um…you can have the rest of my ramen if you want, or the last gyoza." Said Mob. Reigen looked over the table. They were acting like the pickings were slim. They weren't, this was practically a feast. A very expensive feast…somewhat expensive. It wasn't like this was going to break the bank. It wasn't like she had fallen on hard times or anything.

Lean, yes, but not hard.

"Are you guys really this hungry?" asked Reigen. They all nodded.

"It's strength training week in the body improvement club." Said Mob as she rolled her sleeve up and showed off a very small, but visible, muscle. Reigen nodded in approval.

"I traded all of my snacks for a rare item." Said Tome. Reigen shook her head in disapproval. Only Tome would think that trading all of your food for videogame items or whatever was a good idea. Well, maybe Serizawa…actually, no, not even he was that into videogames.

"I already told you about my mom's weird diet…I miss meat…and flavors." Said Rei. Reigen reached into her bag and pulled out her wallet. It was a little light…but this was why the predatory banks had invented lines of credit.

"Fine, fine, one more round…but next time one of you is picking up the check." Said Reigen as she got up. She scooted past Mob and went back up to the front counter. This wasn't going to break the bank, maybe date-night was going to have to be sit inside and hang out night this week, but she could deal with that.

If you stopped feeding the locusts they went away but that wasn't something that Reigen wanted…even if they were eating her out of office and workplace.
