Sword Saint of Fairy Tail

I had always believed in the afterlife. It was just how I was raised and as a result I believed if I did good deeds I would go to heaven as a reward. What a load of crock that turned out to be. 13. Rewrite Info

So it's been awhile hasn't it? To be honest I got so busy with school and army stuff that both my stories completely slipped my mind, but I recently went back and re read Sword Saint and find myself unhappy with the way I took things. For one, Fairy Tail has extensive magic and world-building potential, especially since not very much is known about the other countries in Ishgar, but I kind of went the generic reincarnated route that a lot of fanfics take and used attacks from anime/manga. Not that there is anything wrong with that but I feel it kind of takes away from the character's own originality. So hence forth there is going to be a rewrite of Sword Saint where everything is subject to change. I'm talking a more original magic instead of various swords since I want Zeph to be more subtle in its usage, a more intensive back story, longer prologue. In fact, the title will probably change as well. Really the only things that are going to stay the same are Zephyr Halliwell being the main character and him joining Fairy Tail.

I know some of you probably enjoyed the story so far, I did as well, but I want to do better by myself and for you the reader. I already stated what I thought was wrong from a magic standpoint but there's a bunch of other things as well. For one, the romance was way too rushed in my opinion since they met in the early chapters and then ended up together after about five or six. There wasn't really a chance to flesh out the relationship between Cana and Zeph and it kind of bugs me because I thought the two had a pretty good dynamic. Even if the pairing changes, I want whoever Zeph ends up with have a fleshed-out sub plot of getting together. I also felt like I was rushing myself by trying to keep a chapter a week update schedule so that's going to change as well once the new story is up meaning something more along the lines of every two weeks to a month for updates. That will give me more time to give the chapters detail and as a result they should be longer than my usual 2500-to-3500-word chapters.

All in all, look forward to the new and improved story and I look forward to everyone's thoughts!
