Plot: i have finally completed the last chapter! Once again I have no ownership over these characters asides from my OCs. I feel sad- I spent so much time living in the characters' minds. The Fake tail idea I got from the incredible tale of Winter the Dolphin and from Dolphin Tale. There are slight references to the very first episode and the original theme songItalics are thoughts, " is humans talking and () has Pokéspeech in them. I used Solgaleo from Sun and Moon at the end because I first wrote this before those games were even released And I needed an unknown legendary. . Hope you enjoy it.

Narrator: It's been months since Derek, Ash, Jaden, Sami, aki and storm defeated Hunter J. In that time Derek and Aki had to recover from their injuries. Now it's time for them to leave. But there are a few more surprises in store. XxX It had been three months since we had defeated Hunter J. Three months waiting for Aki and my injuries to heal and then learning about survival techniques and. Now the day I had waited for pretty much my whole life was finally here.
It had been a bit bittersweet at the going away party Mom, Dad and the Oaks held the previous night. I was finally going on my journey but i was leaving my friends- most of who had already left on their journey and family. But I was in luck since I would be traveling with Jaden and Sami. Our parents insisted that we travel together. Before the party the Oaks had given us each a starter that fit our personalities-one: I got a confident young female Bulbasuar I nicknamed Ivy since she had a few darker green spots on her head. Sami got one of Quilava and Pignite's offspring-a male Cyndaquil she named Coal and Jaden received a shy female Squirtle he named Ripple.
Unlike the majority of trainers we were doing in the Orange Island league first for a few different reasons. It seemed like a good way to start our journeys since the Indigo Plateau Conference was in less than three months. We all agreed that none of us wanted to pass near the Overgrown Forest for a bit considering what happened three months ago. The Orange Island weren't too far from home but it wasn't as far as Unova or Kalos. . The only downside of starting in the Orange Islands was that was where the whole Shamuti island disaster with my parents took place years and years ago so I'd have to hear dad's story a lot.
To be honest I was so excited and nervous I smashed my alarm clock to the floor early that morning and hadn't realized it until Mom knocked on my door and said breakfast was read. When Dad heard about my smashed alarm clock he laughed and said said it brought him back to the morning of his first day as a trainer. Mom and I were in the front hall going over my traveling supplies after a big breakfast. It was still early around 7:45in the morning and we were doing some last minute checks. Sami was meeting me before we met up with Jaden at his parents' place before going to the ferry. I had on a gray faded tee shirt and tan shorts along with a Johto league hat- that mostly his my distinctive hair though a few bangs fell out. while Mom had a large yellow tee shirt and jeans on.
"Do you have everything packed?" she asked again even though we had thoroughly done it before the party the day before. Dad and Pikachu were upstairs getting my siblings ready for the day.
"Yes, Mom."
"your ticket?"
"of course."
"Sleeping bag? Extra clothes? –"
"Everything's there mom. We packed last night remember?"
" I know… Are you sure you want to do this sweetie? I mean after what happened. I just don't know what I'd do if-if." she stopped, bit her lip as tears started flowing and then gave me a big tight hug, nearly crushing me. "Oh Derek, Derek, Derek. My sweet boy…"
Why is she so overemotional lately? "Mom. Choking... not breathing... need air. " I gasped. She let go and looked at me through watery eyes"I'm gonna to be fine." I reassured her. "I'm not going solo. Jaden and Sami will be with me and I'll have Ivy and Aki with me too."
My gaze slid a few feet away where Aki was getting kind of the same treatment from Storm, who kept nosing her fur as she talked and her bother Taran watched (Are you positive you still want to go ? There's nothing wrong with staying here- you can learn more attacks from your father. ..)
(Mom, I told you I definitely want to go. I want to explore the world…)
(I know sweetheart. it's just that- after what happened …) Storm trailed off echoing my mother's concerns about Aki leaving to go out into the world, just like me . After the torture Hunter J put the small Pikachu through after she'd been kidnapped and what she'd witnessed, I couldn't blame the older Pikachu for acting extremely protective and jittery.
( oh aki.. my little pup. My baby…) she started smothering her with licks.
( mommmm…) Aki tried to get away from her. (I'm more than capable. )
Taran put his paw on his mother's shoulder as his sister squirmed away from her . ( Mom.. it's going to be okay. you still have me. And' Aki's gonna be fine. Remember Ash's other Pokemon and some of Professor Gary's helped her out with those training tips annd battling moves.)
(I know it's j-just… misty and I …)
"You're both still being cautious considering what happened three months ago. " I finished. both Storm and my mother nodded. " I really don't blame you for being jittery about us l-leaving. You both endured so much pain with that ordeal with Dad being taken and.. everything and n-now …" my voice cracked as I spoke. "w-we're leaving on our own journeys . but we'll have Jaden and S-Sami with us so we won't be alone. We'll be in the Orange Island so it's not like we're gonna be going far."
(And with the thing Ryan created for me I'm gonna be the best like no 'Chu ever was) Aki puffed out her chest proudly.
"You didn't think you two would go off without saying a proper goodbye did you? Just because you're thirteen now doesn't mean you can't skip out on saying goodbye to your old man," Dad said from the top of the stairs, Pikachu on his left shoulder. He wore a cream yellow shirt with the Battle Park insignia on it and khaki pants. His right shoulder was back to normal for the most part it was still in a sling.
I nervously chuckled. "Oh come on Dad, you're not that old. And I was going to..."
"As soon as I get Aiden changed we'll come- whoa! Where's the fire DJ?" he said as a blur ran past him. We heard footsteps run down the stairs as DJ bolted down them
A few seconds later she wrapped her arms around my legs. " n-no Derek! y-you can't g-go.. I d-d-don't want you to-to," she sobbed. I looked down at my little sister. She was wearing a purple tee shirt with an emblem of a white glittery Pokeball and blue shorts. I knew my leaving would be hard on her. She had been very quiet during breakfast.
"DJ…"
Tears streaked her face. "Wh-why do you g-g-gotta go?"
I knelt down to face her and detached her from my leg. . "DJ I- I have to. You know how much I've waited for this." I wiped her face with my shirt sleeve.
"But why?" she asked.
How am I supposed to tell her that I've been waiting for a chance to make a name for myself and step out of dad's shadow? "It's a kind of ... ritual."
She stopped sniffling. "Huh?"
(It's ... something humans do when they reach a certain age.) Storm explained. (Kind of an independent type thing. they get to explore the world. There are also dangers they have to learn to face-)
"Like the mean people mommy and daddy faced in their and Grammy's stories?"
Mom's gaze ping ponged from her to to the Pikachus And back A few times .she was clearly confused on how to handle this question seeing as some of those 'mean people' were stand ins for Jaden's parents . I answered it as best as I could. "Yeah but for the most part those evil groups they faced are gone. But not everyone mom and dad faced are bullies. They met lots of nice people too but they had to deal with other things too."
(l-like getting lost? ) Taran asked.
a smile crept on Mom's face. "Oh yes. I can think of a certain someone famous. for his bad sense of directions.."
Dad's voice floated downstairs. " oh come on Mist.. I'm not that bad at directions and i've gotten better …"
she sighed , stared up at the ceiling for a few minutes and gave it a look . Storm and DJ flinched as Dad groaned and said, "Really?"
Mom smirked as she returned her gaze to us and Storm chuckled. . "what thought did you send Daddy , Mommy?" DJ asked. She could sense emotions through Aura but that was it.
"oh .. Just a reminder of his ... directional dunce-ness.."
.(in the forms of An x spotted map and a huge dunce cap with the words 'map dolt' written all over it. ) Storm put in.
"Yeaaah. That sounds like dad.." I commented . " but to finish your question Dj..they had to face things like detours and weather issues ."
( and lots of problem solving, right mom?) Aki asked. (And they learn about different things.)
Storm added. (That's right sweetie. plus this way he gets to see the world and meet new friends. Maybe join in Pokémon Contests-)
"Contests?" Dj's eyes lit up- she just loved Contests. "Are you gonna be a coordinator like Jordan an' May ?" She referred to Both Jaden's sister Jordan her godmother who was this famous Hoenn Coordinator.
"Well, I really dunno sis. " I haven't really thought about it."
"I think you'd be good in them," Mom remarked.
"I don't know mom. I saw a few with Aunt Daisy and it looked tougher than a regular battle " I admitted.
Mom chuckled. "Your dad tried them once during his first time through Hoenn. He didn't really care for them at the time but he's gotten used to them. You might like them. It's a different way of training your Pokémon. I tried them a few times but they weren't really my things either. "
"Dakota competes in Junior Contests with Auntie Daisy ." DJ pointed out referring to my cousin Rosie's little sister. .
"She likes that kind of stuff and so does Aunt Daisy." I added. "Rosie's not really into them."
Mom smiled down at my sister. "Different ways of being with Pokémon work for different people. Your cousin likes the idea of Contests while Rosie is a good artist. She got that from your uncle. Your friend Lizzie's mother is very talented at being a Pokémon caretaker. It fits her personality – she's a wonderful mother to her kids as well..."
Her eyes got moist as she stared into space for a few minutes . "Uh Mommy?" DJ asked.
"Hmmm?"
"Are you okay?"
"It's nothing bad sweetheart. I'm just thinking…"
"You look like you're about to cry again". I stated." Is it because I'm leaving? "
"It's not that but that's part of it. " She called up to Dad. "Hey Ashy?"
"What is it sweetheart? Something wrong? "
" Can you, Taran, Aiden Flamie and Pikachu come down here? Don't you and I have some news that to tell the kids?" she asked.
"huh?" dad sounded confused.
Mom groaned yet again . " Ashy….You know that ..thing we discussed last night?"
"Oh ... right... Be down shortly."
...
A few minutes later he came down the stairs Pikachu on his regular spot. . Aiden, wearing a white tee shirt with Teddiursas and honey pots on them and blue shorts, tottered a few steps after him' holding Flamie the Growlithe's fur, Taran following him. Once they got down she nodded to him. Their faces were glowing like the sun.
"Kids, your father and I have some exciting news." She paused. "We're going to be making this family grow in a few months."
My eyes darted from to my mom's belly, which was bigger than before the incident but I hadn't really noticed it during my recovery. She radiated a glow I'd seen plenty of times with my classmates' parents and my father's friends but only twice before on her. The first time I was only about seven at the time and didn't understand what was going on -But the second time I had been a little over ten and a half and understood it slightly better. I thought hard . She's more emotional than ever. Being lot sicker and snappier than normal. Bigger belly. Not hungry for her favorite foods. .. strange cravings ... tiredness. That comment about making the family grow in a few months ... then it hit me. "Y-y-you're p-pregnant?" I squeaked out.
She nodded and our eyes bugged out (That's awesome news Ash!) Pikachu remarked.
"Thanks pal."
" Whaf pweg-ant?" Aiden asked and DJ answered.
" It means Mommy's going to have 'nother baby. " she explained.
"How?"
Dad took over from there. " You know how Pokémon lay eggs when they're gonna have babies?" Aiden nodded. " Well for humans the eggs with the babies grow inside of them over a long time. When the egg with the baby is ready to ...hatch... we go to the hospital where a ... bird Pokémon delevers the baby . " he grinned. "You're going to be a big brother Aiden . "
"Big bwotha?" Aiden asked.
"Yup." I nodded. " You get to teach the your new sibling all you know. "
DJ noticed the bump too. "I'm gonna be a big sister agains?
Aki and Taran's smiles filled their faces. (We're gonna have siblings?) they asked as their faces became filled with happiness. My parents saw them as part of the family . The two Pikachus their litter-mates were like kids to them since they hatched before I was born.
Storm nodded as she licked her pups. (In a way yes. )
"But... when did you find out" I asked.
My parents looked at each other. "Last night. Well early This morning "mom said." I wasn't so sure myself. I had this strange feeling for a while. Like I was really sick."
Dad beamed, "here we go again with the banana and Blueberry chocolate sandwich midnight cravings."
She playfully shoved him. "That only happened once doofus. It wasn't the same cravings each time, "
"Is that why you were pale and sick last night?" DJ asked.
"Yes pumpkin. That's one of the symptoms. I had a feeling but I wasn't sure until last night when i tested it out."
"Tested it out? "
…
A knock at the door made us jump and spared us from further embarrassment from answering Dj's question. Two familiar voices came from the other side of the door. "Ryan ..You're squashing me."
"What? Can't I say goodbye to my favorite little sister? "
"You dork we're twins! I'm you're only sister. Besides I'm only younger than you by a minute."
"So? You'll always be my little sister but the thought of you out there all alone…"
"I won't be alone. I have my friends and. Coal. Need ... to breath... Derek, some help please. "
I got to the door and opened it. I saw Sami in a tight hug by her twin brother Ryan, dressed in his tan shirt and blue grease-stained overalls. While Sami looked more like their mom, Ryan looked like a strange combination of their parents. His hazel eyes twinkled behind huge glasses as he saw me. He was taller than his sister and had floppy dark brown hair. the Pokéspeech translator studs In his ears were pale yellow. Asides from their facial features and glasses, the twins didn't really look that much alike. By his side lay a wrapped package. "For Arceus' sake Ry let me go."
"You're no fun. " he let her go but she stuck her tongue at him. He did the same to her.
"Hey Ryan. H-hi Sami." my stomach did a flip-flop when I saw her and my cheeks blushed for a few seconds. She was wearing a pair of faded jeans and a white tee shirt that had outlines of a Charizard, Venusaur and Blastoise against a red sun.
"Hey man. " ryan gave me a fist bump
Aki ran out and sniffed the package, her parents and Taran following her. (Is that it? Is that it? did you finish it?)
Ryan bent down and scratched her ears, smiling as he opened it. We all came out onto the front stoop and admired it. "Yup. Check it out. "
It was a simple silicone and plastic prosthetic tail. It was painted yellow and looked precisely like the lightning shaped tail of the Pikachu evolutionary line. The only difference was that on each side was a small yellow suction cup connected to the tail by a glowing string that creepily reminded me of Ariapion's Electro Lariat. There was a clear gel like sleeve next to it with a soft rubber sock.
We all commented at once:
"Oooh Pwetty"
(Impressive)
(It looks and smells just like the real thing but will it work?) Flamie sniffed it .
"Wow. You outdid yourself."
"How did you do that?"
I whistled. "By ho-oh's tail feathers! It looks so lifelike ."
"Thanks Derek. Aki's going to be the first to have one. so you should let me know if there are any problems. Dad and I are going to try to patent it so that others can use it too and make other one's too. " He beamed. He was more of a tinkering inventor type rather than his book loving wanna-be trainer twin sister. He could spend hours working on various projects. I suppose he got that trait from his great-grandfather.
Storm looked at the fake tail .( it looks like the real thing but will it work for .. electric type attacks?)
"It works just like a regular Pikachu tail so yes, Storm it does work for those attacks," he pointed to the sleeve, tail and suction cups as he explained them. "You put the sleeve on first to protect the skin. Next you carefully put the tail on over the sleeve. The tail allows for movement and stores electricity inside. The suction cups and string help provide support to the tail. "
Sami added. "Don't worry, we had a group ofelectric type Pokemon power it up. If it gets low on electricity you just need to power it up with more electrical power. It won't shock anyone if it' not connected. "
Ryan gingerly put the sock, the tail, and then the suction cups on Aki. She wasn't surprised at this since they had been working with her on it. Even before hunter J kidnapped Dad and Storm, Ryan had been working on this project with his dad so that she wouldn't feel like such an outsider around other Pikachus with her stubby half- tail. She waved it back and forth testing out the feeling. (It feels wonderful. )
(You look like a real pikachu now sis) Taran told his sister.
(Thanks. Check this out!) she let out a weak Thundershock at an Oran berry hanging off a branch at the top of a nearby tree. The attack fried the berry and it snapped off the branch onto the ground.
"It's amazing. You really out did yourself" dad commented.
Ryan blushed. "Thanks, Mr. K but mom and dad really helped out a lot. It will be good for her during battles. There's a gel that you put in the sock to make it easy to put on. You should keep it off her at night, Derek... "
Mom handed me my backpack, trying not to shed tears. Sami and Ryan stood to the side. "Be sure to call us right when you get to Valencia Island. I don't want to be fretting about something happening to you or- or…"
Dad put a hand on her shoulder. "Easy Misty. Don't stress- it'll hurt the baby.."
The Oak twins looked up at the last word, "The baby?" they asked at the same time.
"Do you mean you're ." Sami's gaze slid to my mother's baby bump. She nodded and a tear of happiness trickled down her face.
The brother and sister's faces lit up. " that's incredible Mrs. K. " Ryan told her.
"Congratulations. you really deserve that happiness after what happened." Sami added.
"Thanks Sami. I'm just worried about you three kids.."
Sami smiled. "Don't worry ,,, we'll be fine, "
(It's not like when we went there. ) Pikachu reminded mom .
"I know but it's my job to worry" she had as she handed me the blue and gray backpack with the Battle Park's Symbol and I put it on my back.. Dad got out his camera and took a few pictures with it before putting it away. "That's definitely going on the mantle and on the fridge."
I bent down to face DJ, Aiden Taran, – whom dad had put down. I gave them each a huge hug. "Don't be giving mom and dad any trouble. It's not good for the baby. Dj, you have to help mom watch after Aiden and be a big girl. Can you do that sis?"
Her eyes sparkled. "Uh-huh! Can you write me and Aiden letters?"
"Every week. And just like I said I'll call too."
"Don't want you to gos.." Aiden was close to tear.
"Don't worry little Squirtle"- he smiled at his nickname "I'll come by to visit. But you need to help mom out cause she's going to be ….uh preoccupied. Can you be a big boy and do that?"
He sniffed. "I'll twy."
Storm started licking me when I came to her. (You take care of yourself. Derek. You're going to do great out there). She said through wet eyes. (After what happened well – you just make sure nothing like that happens to my little girl again.)
I gave her mate a wink as I hugged her and replied, "I promise. Ursa scout's honor". I looked at Taran, who was talking to his sister. "You take good care of your parents and mine while I'm gone, Tar."
He held up a paw. (I'll do my best. ) he replied. It was Pikachu and Flamie's turns. The electric mouse and firedog were bursting with pride. "Flamie. " there's so much to tell her. How proud I am with what she's accomplished. How much she's grown. How sad I will be to leave her. How brave she is.
She puffed out her chest, showing off her fireproof collar with her license and nametag. I smiled- only three months in my family but it felt like she had been there for much longer. She loved my siblings and Taran and vice versa-Dj could tie her fur up in multi-colored bows or put her in a frilly tutu and she wouldn't care. Most of Dad's Pokémon at the Oaks lab had quickly warmed up to her – Krookodile seemed to have a little bit of a crush on her. However Buizel was still not too fond of her but then again he had issues opening up to people and Pokémon.
She put her paw on my shoulder for a few seconds and licked me. She knows what I'm thinking (Thanks. for everything. For giving a poor Growlithe a second chance)
(I still stand by what I said a few months ago: you are so your dad's son) the mouse grinned.
I was close to tears myself now as I hugged him. "I love you too pal. You take care "
(You, and aki are going be one heck of a duo to beat. Maybe even better than Ash and I)
I brushed off the comparison. "Ah. I'm not that good. "
Dad chuckled. I stood up and faced for the hardest part. Mom was turning on the water works badly. " There's not much for me or your mother to say that hasn't been said. It's hard for both of us. We knew this day would 's hard for me- heck it would have been even harder if that whole mess with J never happened. Knowing what happened it's hard for me to admit when the pidgey has to leave the nest. " He choked back a tear or two. "But you more than deserve this. Just make sure you -"
"Call you a lot, make sure I don't fall for any traps, keep a cool head. " I rattled off- he had pretty much drilled this into my head. "And most importantly –"
"Don't do anything reckless and stupid that lands you into hot water. " Ryan, Sami, and I finished together.
Mom smiled. "That's my boy. Make sure you change your-"
BEEP! BEEP!. . The Pokegear around my wrist beeped saving me from embarrassment as I received a message. Saved by the beep. I pushed a button and read it out loud: "get your butts here and save my bro. M, d and Cait smothering him with love & embarrassment - jordn." I looked up. "Oh brother."
Sami grimaced. "It must bad if Jordan is begging us to save him from caitlyn"
Ryan suddenly had a dreamy-eyed look in his eyes. 'Caitlin's there? She is so talented and beautiful! She makes the best smoothies. Her eyes are like two pools of - OW! That's my ear!"
Sami grabbed her twin's ear and yanked it. "Really Ryan? You are so hopeless. "
"Ow! Come on Sami! Let go of my ear " Yeouch that's going to hurt.
"Be glad it's not your head. Mom and dad said you could see me off to Jaden's, not go moony eyed over Caitlyn."
" I'm not moony-eyed -" "Uh huh. Riiiight and dugtrios can fly."
(Oh great. Another Brock wannabe) Pikachu sighed.
"You are going back to the lab if I have to drag you by your ear the whole way back. I have to get my stuff and pokedex from mom and dad anyways."
"But-but-".
"No buts!"
She was relentless and didn't let go. We heard him howling with pain as they left our driveway. "Ouchie." Aiden said.
"You said it. " DJ agreed. "That's just like what you did to uncle Brock in your stories. Mommy."
She smiled. " Exactly like it pumpkin . Then Crogunk took over that responsibility when he and your dad
were traveling in Sinnoh and I was taking care of the gym while your aunts were away. Apparently he got reeeeally into it. He's calmed down a lot since Brock settled down. But every so often when a pretty girl comes along into the clinic and he gets a bit overboard it's either a light Posion Jab or...…" She pulled Dad's left ear… hard.
"Ow! Misty, did you have to show them on me?"
"How else was I going to show them? " Like I was gonna demonstrate the ear tug on them. Besides you deserved it.. "
"What did I do this time ?"
(Oh brother. Here they go again.) Pikachu muttered as Storm sighed.
" last night at the party when you and Gary started getting competitive ... Again. "
"He was asking for it..."
Mom groaned. "You're such an idiot. I thought you two put aside your little competiveness. "
" Well we did- mostly but … he started it first…"
Pikachu rolled his eyes. (You never change)
A stab of sadness-hit me-I was going to miss my parents' little spats like this. I faced my family one last time and cleared my throat interrupting my parents' quarrel. . "I guess this is goodbye. Gotta go rescue Jaden from his parents and then we're meeting Sami at the boat."
I hugged both my parents tightly careful of my mother's big belly. " we love you son. Tell them we say hi and give him the good news. Call us when you're on the ferry " Dad said. "We. Still have to go tell my… mom."
"You mean Grammy doesn't know?" DJ asked.
" Uh oh. " Aiden said as he, Pikachu, Storm and DJ started to inch away. Flamie followed them
Yikes! Mom's going to lose it in three... two.. one . Mom turned to dad-her expression furious. . "ASHTON IHSOTAS WATERFLOWER-KETCHUM! " she yelled , making us all jump. " You haven't told your mother the news yet? You are so hopeless!"
"But Mist. We only found out last night- "
"You could have at least left her a message…"
"It was super late at night"
" That didn't stop you before. "
"She'd make a big deal out of it."
"Your point is?"
" Have you met my mother .., I was planing on telling her after work."
" of course i've met my mother in law! why don't you call her now you dol? ! Ooooh! You can be so dense…"
(Here they go again) Pikachu sighed.
(You might want to slip out now) Storm said. (This will go on for quite a bit. )
I looked at her then at my squabbling mother. "Yeeaahh. Good idea. "
(Can I go with them?) Taran turned to his parents. (please?) He loved being around Jordan. Since she had born before Giovanni's strange chimera hybrid's attack on her parents outright refused to get her a Pikachu when she was little. They drilled it into her head that those Pokémon were troublesome and not the trouble - she believed them. When they moved here she found herself fascinated with the mice. She was also pretty good at coming up with attack combos in Contests and Pokémon grooming. Whenever she groomed a Pokémon they looked extremely special and Taran loved looking his best.
Storm looked at her mate who was currently trying -and failing to save Dad from being clobbered. He looked at her and nodded. (That's fine dear. We'll get you when-) she covered her eyes with her tail for a few seconds as Mom pounded Dad. Pikachu DJ, Flamie, Aiden and I winced. (This cools down and Delia finds out the news) she ended.
We left the driveway and headed down the sidewalk. " How long do you think it will be until mom calms down?"
Taran chuckled. (Uh a while.)
(You know Jaden's parents are gonna be giving him the same lecture) Aki pointed out. (Well something similar to it).

As we walked down to his house I found myself taking in my surroundings, trying to commit them to memory. My friends shouted out words of encouragement from their windows or as we passed them. My heart burst with pride as i replied to them. I was glad it was early in the morning and that a lot of the reporters were at the party the other night. The hat also helped hide my distinguishable hair.
As we passed The Chatty Cafe, a little cafe with a yellow awning, we saw a familiar nearly fifteen year old girl help the cheerful blonde haired owner Mr. Darrin, who was setting up the tables in the front while a Servine, a slim mostly green bipedal Unova Pokémon with a cream underside, and narrow red eyes cleaned them. The tall girl had long straight magenta hair with light blue highlights and wore a white tee shirt with Roquet Roman's logo on the back. She had on a pair of brown jeans and faded sneakers and was placing a big picture of her with her parents and the runner up Grand Festival trophy next to a picture of Jaden, Sami, me and our classmates with the words ' Good Luck New Trainers' on the signboard ouside .
The Unova grass type tugged on the girl's arm as he noticed us. (Jordan! Look!)
She looked up at us with blue eyes and raised her eyebrows. "'It's about time. Prince and i were headed to your place but i got distracted helping out Mr. Darrin out. "
The cafe owner grinned and waved a hand as he handed her a small take away bag that smelled like freshly made cinnamon-banana chocolate mini muffins. The Servine's eyes followed the bag as he licked his mouth. " I love getting help from my favorite customer. You should go and see your brother before he leaves. Tell your mother to stop by sometime, i don't see her as much as i would like to."
Jordan chuckled as Taran rubbed himself against her legs and she picked him with her free hand " She's pretty busy with the restaurant's booming business now that I got pretty high in the - hey! Don't even try it " she slapped a vine coming from Prince that had been slowly reaching for the bag
He winced as he retracted the vine. (Owww. Can't I just have one cinnamon- banana chocolate mini muffin?)
She rolled her eyes. " for the love of Lugia . Introducing you to them was a big mistake. Why mom and dad thought it was a good idea to give you one I will never understand. Anyways Dad's been busy too. "
"Well, tell them that they're doing a fabulous job. "
(We'll let them know, Mr. D.) Prince said as he bowed his head.
He looked over towards me. " I know you will do well against the Orange Crew, Derek. You and your friends are fine young trainers. The three of you have got good heads on your shoulders."
"Uhhh… yeah. We do Mr. Darrin."
" We'll keep a lookout for you. "
" Thanks, Mr. Darrin"
She said good-bye and her Pokémon followed her as she walked over to us, put the muffins in her backpack, and we walked together. "I think Mom and Dad should be done embarrassing my little brother by now. Where's Sami?"
(She had to drag Ryan home after he got moony over your message about Caitlyn.) Taran said ( think she's gonna meet us at the boat .).
She rolled her eyes. " idiot. He never learns."
"Nope." I confirmed. After a few minutes I looked around and lowered my voice , " Guess what? Mom's pregnant."
Her eyes went wide. " Really? "
Taran and Aki nodded. (Yes.) Aki stated. (Ash told us the news before we left.)
( he said to pass the news along) Taran added.
"Oh wow. You know. Mom had her suspicions about it during the party."
(She did?) Taran asked.
Jordan nodded. "She is a volunteer nurse after all so she picks up on these things. I can just guess what you know who is going to say. " She lowered her voice to a near whisper and did a perfect imitation. "Jus' great: just what da woild needs. Anuder litte heroic twoip just like 'im. " She switched back to her regular voice. " bet your Mom's happy. " She grinned.
" She is. She was pretty emotional when I was leaving. After what happened can you blame her?"
She shook her head. " Not at all. It will be good for your family to have a new addition."
(Speaking of new additions how's Ripple doing?) Aki asked.
Prince chuckled as he walked, carefully not to get his front arms dirty. (As much as a Squirtle coming into a home with an Inkay, a Meowth, Yamask, yours truly and more for a day could. She's settling in well wouldn't you say Jordan?)
"Yeah. She is" the girl replied as she fiddled with a strand of hair. We stopped as she stared at me intensely with her blue eyes. " look.. When you three are out there…you make sure my brother is okay. I think he's a bit nervous about what's going to happen. After… " She lowered her voice " what happened with Hunter J.. I think his confidence grew a bit but I can tell it scared the blazes out of him."
"I can't say blame him. " I gazed at my right arm and saw the faint white line on it- a reminder of my nearly fatal poisoning. I shuddered and looked away. "Dad. Storm Aki and I -we had to take it one day at a time as we recovered. He's traveling with Sami and I- there is really no need for Jaden to be nervous. I'm sure that once he gets into gym battles he'll be fine. "
" He just needs a huge confidence boost and then that nervous energy will go away." She said as we continued walking
" Probably. "
Jordan did another spot on imitation of Meowth. "I hope da world's ready fer da second comin' of da-" her eyes went wide as Aki and Taran's ears twitched and Aki wrinkled her nose for a heartbet. " what 's the matter you two?"
(I .. can hear Tami about five hundred feet away. ) Taran said. I groaned- I hated her.
(I'm almost gagging on that thick citrus lemon rose perfume she wears) his sister added. (she's talking to a few people ..)
Jordan and I knelt down to face the mice. " what are they saying? And who is she talking to?" I asked
(one's her lackey Bryce. Another is a whiny guy's voice.. I think it's Melvin Sneedlee- he's saying something to Tami about some plan to use his Magnemite to paralyze your and some sticky concotion to make you miss the boat so Tami can make you join her.)
I groaned at Taran's words. I had enough with Hunter J's Ariapion and Dark Dragonite paralzying me to learn to hate paralyzing attack. "great..." I muttered.
( The other is a voice I don't recognize,. Sound like a strange Unovan accent . kind of bossy, snooty .. a female I think . .) Taran described. I groaned again . Melvin Sneedlee was anannoying smart- tattle tale classmate of mine who was always sucking up to authority. I detested him as did most of my classmates.
(they're talking about the Grand Festival and you) ..) Aki's ears flicked.
Jordan clenched her free hand into a fist. " I know the other voic Arianna. Arianna is a rich two-faced jerk from the Contest circuit that is obsessed with your family and Tomas is her lackey. He's tough and a real piece of work. They both want to join Neo Rocket," I gulped. I'd heard that Neo-Rocket was even worse than the original. " If they see you or learn that I know you or that mom and dad." she trailed off for a few minutes as she thought. I knew that she hated talking about her parents' past.
" Uh Jordan?"
She looked at me. " I have a plan. aki You may want to jump onto Der's shoulder and hold on tight for this."
He did just that then Jordan looked at Tarzan, a grin forming on her face. "want to shock Sneedlee and fry his Magnemite with Fire Punch?"
( you bet!)
"Good." She looked at Prince.
"Use your super Agility- Quick Attack to get Derek and Aki to the Pokémon Center. I'll text Sami and let her know you're there instead of the ferry- luckily it's right near it. " She grinned. She put the bag with the muffins down an as her left hand twitched as she got out her Pokégear and recorded a message to sami and Jaden . " I'll join you after Petri, Taran, Rune Diana and I have some fun. Sneedlee, Tami and Arianna are plotting something and we're gonna stop them ..."
Prince nodded then picked Aki and I up with his vines and (You might want to close your eyes.) The Grass Type Pokémon told me.
I nodded -Agility-Quick attack Pokemon travel was . ome of the quickest ways to travel if you diodn't have a Flying, Water or Psychic type or either a Zebstrika, Rapidsah or any of the othe rfast moving land Pokemon . It was easier to travel like this if you had your eyes shut.
I looked over at my best friend's sister a few minutes later as she sent the message to Sami. " You sure you can handle them by yourself?"
She raised her eyebrows. " You got enough on your plate Derek. I know how to deal with those two. Besides ... haven't you've seen my female nidoran and Emolga and male abra in action."
" Uh yeah I have."
" I wish you the best of luck. Don't worry. I'll see you after I stop those jerks. Rune will Teleport Taran and I back.."
"thanks." I nodded and squeezed my eyes shut. I felt the air rushing around me as if Prince was moving super fast- which to be fair he was.

A few minutes later I felt Prince's Vine Whip retract from my body as he put me on the ground. (You can open your eyes now.)
I opened them and did a full circle. There we were right in front of my hometown's decently sized Pokémon Center. Aki jumped off my shoulder and stared at something in the distance- something looking at us. "What's the matter Aki ?"
She pointed with a paw at the creature. I stared at what he in far distance. Huh?
we slowly crept up to the creature until we were around one hundred feet from the It looked like a large, white lion. It looked at all of us. From what I could see the top half of its face had a deep blue area that kept on changing colors and four yellow spikes framing its head like a crown and two more pairs of spikes on both sides of its tale. At the tip of its tail is a large black spot with a thin yellow rim. I had never seen a Pokemon like it before and i felt myself fascinated watching it.
She started at it too. (Who's that Pokémon?) She looked at the Pokémon.
(Wow..) Prince commented.
My Pokedex buzzed from my pocket than spoke. "There is no data. There still are Pokémon yet to be identified"
"That's strange." I muttered.
(It's not any scent i recognize) Aki said.
" It must be an undiscovered Pokémon!" I said a bit loudly.
It heard me then looked at me. I felt a shiver go down my spine it let out a bright light like a Flash attack. We closed our eyes and when we opened it again the unknown Pokémon was gone.
Prince, Aki and I blinked our eyes for a few seconds (What was that about?) Prince asked but we could only shrug our shoulders. "I-it was definitely a Pokémon but I didn't recognize it at all. The day dad and Pikachu left to start his Pokémon journey he said he saw a really rare Pokémon that ended up being Ho-Oh. He saw it a bunch of other times too.
(This was just after dad fried the Spearows and Misty's bike… right?) Taran asked.
I grinned. "Ooh yeah. And I think I just saw a legendary Pokémon myself- but I didn't recognize it."
(Rumors say that whenever a legendary appears before a human it means the human is destined for greatness) Prince added.
I turned my hat around and turned to my Pikachu. "You hear that Aki? We're destined for greatness. Watch out orange crew here we come!" I did dad's victory pose.
