A week after Megatron's death, Starscream was watching a recording of his demise, "Such a shame," commented, "But I applaud you, Megatron. You certainly made a grand exit." Soundwave suddenly approaches him, "Ah Soundwave. Cue the audio/visual. I wish to address the troops." Soundwave nodded.
In another section of the Nemesis, Vehicons were using a computer when Starscream's face appeared on a monitor, "the loss of Megatron, leader of the great Decepticon uprising, is certainly a blow to our cause. Yet we mustn't despair over his tragic demise but instead embrace his ultimate sacrifice and build upon the foundation he laid with an even mightier hand."
"With all due respect, Commander star…" A vehicon started before correcting himself "Uh, Lord Starscream."
"Yes, yes. What is it?" Starscream asked the Vehicon.
"If we failed to conquer Earth under Lord Megatron's command, what hope do we have now while the Autobots still defend it?" The Vehicon asked.
Starscream sighs, "Allow me to be crystal clear. I studied for millennia under our former Master. Thus, I am equipped to lead you, I Megatron's true heir, Lord Starscream, Emperor of Destruction!"
Vehicons looked and murmured to each other, Starscream notices this from the monitor "What?" He said before walking away from the computer as he scoffs "What use are troops who can't rise to the task of inflicting unspeakable destruction in my name?" He then thought of something, "Ah, but wait. Legend tells of one capable warrior, one who exists here on this very planet, one who can be Student to my Master."
Meanwhile at the Autobot base, Ratchet and Chromette noticed that Optimus looked upset, "Optimus, why so glum?" Ratchet asked him. "This planet, all planets are finally free from Megatron's tyranny."
"Ratchet's right," Chromette said, "he tried to force us all to stay on Cybertron when you ordered the Great Exodus, when we needed to leave cybertron."
"I do not disagree, to both of you," Optimus said, closing his optics for a split second, "it's just… a small part of me hoped to change Megatron's mind, not extinguish his spark."
"Optimus, his vileness was not slain by your hand but by his own twisted arrogance," Ratchet told the Prime.
"Ratchet's right," she added, "He did have good intentions at first, but as the war ravaged he became more and more twisted as he found out about Dark Energon."
"Hmm," Optimus said with hesitation.
"I'm sorry," Ratchet told his old friend, "I know the two of you had quite a history."
"But the Megatron whom I once fought beside perished eons ago, the day he chose to become a Decepticon." Optimus told them, "the Decepticons may be in disarray, but they aren't without leadership." He turned around and looked at the two Autobots, "And while Starscream is no Megatron, he is far from predictable."
Suddenly they heard an explosion, nearby within the base, "Decepticons! We're under attack!" Ratchet said and the three autobots went to where the explosion came from but saw no decepticons, only Raf and Bumblebee working on a miniature volcano.
"It's no attack, Ratchet," Raf said, coughing from the gas from his volcano. "It's my volcano." He added when suddenly it dissolved a little, "Or was."
"Hold still, Bulkhead," Miko said, with bulkhead holding a display of the Planet's of Earth Solar System, sitting on the ground, "Jupiter needs its red spot." she places the tip of a paintbrush into a can filled with orange paint, she took it out of the paint can and the paint from the brush quickly dropped onto the floor, "Whoopsie!"
"What... in the allspark is going on in here?" Ratchet asked.
"Our projects are due tomorrow," Jack replied as he and Arcee worked on building an orange colored motorcycle.
"Maybe it needs one of these doohickeys," Arcee said.
"You're a motorcycle, Arcee," Jack said, "Shouldn't you know how to build a motorcycle engine?"
"You're a human, Jack. Can you build a small intestine?" She countered.
"Well, you can't work on these projects in here," Ratchet said, "You're...making a mess."
"But the science fair's a big part of our grade," Raf said.
"Yeah," Miko agreed, "If Bulkhead doesn't help me finish this model of our solar system…"
"Oh?" Ratchet said, interrupting the Japanese exchange student, "And what does Bulkhead know of your solar system, or Bumblebee of your volcanos or…"
"Arcee of our motorcycles?" Jack asked the medic.
"Precisely!" He replied "we're not earthlings. And they're not scientists."
"But they are their guardians, Ratchet," Optimus said, "would it hurt to learn more of Earth by helping our young friends with their schoolwork."
"I agree with Optimus on this one," Chromette told Ratchet.
"Well, maybe our young friends should try learning more of cybertron."
"Why don't they teach us more about Earth and in exchange we teach them a little about Cybertron?" Chromette asked.
"You do make a compelling argument, Chromette," he said, "I'll think about it."
Meanwhile in a canyon that's in the desert, Starscream and Soundwave who had a sensor that looked like a communications tower connected to the back of his neck, they were looking for the warrior that was entombed on earth, with the sensor, "During the Great War, so much Energon was hidden on this forsaken rock that are departed Master sent some of cybertron's greatest to guard it, true warriors now lying in stasis, waiting to be reawakened. Such folly that, late in life, Megatron searches distant space for warriors rather than here beneath his feet."
Suddenly the sensor beeped, "what do you mean you can't pinpoint his signal? I know we are close!" Starscream said turning around, "boost the power to your sensors!" Then the Sensor began to pick up a signal and Soundwave's visor picked this up as well. "Yes. There," Starscream said pointing as Soundwave's visor as it had a map on it and was moving towards a red mark, they then transformed into their alternate modes, to find the warrior they located.
Meanwhile back at the Autobot base, Bumblebee was telling Raf how he was still a scout by buzzing as Raf places Newspaper over his volcano and his guarding quickly activated his blaster, waving it around, "Really Bumblebee? Then how do you make warrior class?" Bumblebee then buzzed an explanation. "But I've seen you in action. You're awesome."
Bumblebee then buzzes while Optimus places a hand on his shoulder, "I second your opinion, Raf. But Autobot life cycles are much longer than those of humans," Optimus said, "And though it may be are you believe, our young scout still has much to experience."
"Optimus is correct," Chromette said walking over to them, "We autobots do live longer, as in millions of years longer. Me and sis, became warriors just before the Great Exodus, which was like about a few decades ago."
Suddenly the supercomputer started beeping, "Exposed energon, and it's on the move," Ratchet said.
"And since we ain't moving it, guess who must be," Bulkhead said.
"Decepticons." Arcee said.
"Without Megatron?" Miko asked.
"Starscream is most likely to be commanding them as he has a tendency to lead them when Megatron's not around," Chromette said, "he's done it before, back on Cybertron days before the Ark launched from cybertron."
"Chromette is right," Optimus said, "Unfortunately, Megatron's legacy will live on as others rise to take his place. Autobots, you have projects to complete. Ratchet, Chromette with me as I may require aid."
Ratchet looks at Raf's volcano, "Science fair is a big part of their grade. Perhaps I'm better suited to remain here and advise."
"Very well," Optimus said, and looked towards his scout, "Bumblebee, let us see about this energon in transit." He turned to Arcee's sister, "Chromette, do you want to come with us or do the same as Ratchet?"
"I'll come with you as I've got nothing better to do," she replied.
Back in the desert, Starscream and Soundwave got to the location of the warrior that was in stasis as a device embedded into a rock wall, moved out from the wall, "Excellent, Soundwave," Starscream said, "The cube."
Soundwave opened a cube that contained Energon shaped like a cube, Starscream took it and places it into the device that was embedded into the wall. "The Energon infusion, it's working," Starscream said as the device opens up and a light suddenly flashed that blinded the two cybertronians.
Nearby where the two Decepticons were, a Ground Bridge opened, Bumblebee stepped out of it, followed by Chromette and Optimus Prime.
Bumblebee buzzed, "I don't think this is a trap," Chromette said.
"No, it does not," Optimus replied before walking away a little, "hold your positions and await my command."
Meanwhile back with Starscream and Soundwave, the device that was embedded in the wall finally opened, "Awaken warrior. Rise and serve your new Master!"
The warrior was a cybertronian flier with a mostly green paint job with a little red and silver on him as well, he walked out of the device he was sleeping in, he pounded both his fists together, "Skyquake serves only one Master," the warrior said, introducing himself.
"Excellent," Starscream said, "Your loyalty and devotion will set a fine example for the troops. No need to be timid, Skyquake. You may now."
"You fail to grasp my meaning," Skyquake told him, I am here on a mission assigned to me by my one Master, Megatron."
"Yes, him," Starscream said, "Sadly, Megatron is no longer with us."
"Impossible," Skyquake said with disbelief.
"Why is this so difficult for everyone to accept?" Starscream asked himself, "Skyquake, I located you. I awakened you. Thus I, Lord Starscream, am now your master!"
Skyquake then growls at him, causing Starscream to step back a little in fear.
"It has been a while, Skyquake," they suddenly heard Optimus say.
Skyquake pushes Starscream aside, "Optimus Prime. I haven't seen you since the battle of Technar. Megatron ordered me to annihilate you."
"That was a long time ago," Optimus said, approaching the recently awakened Decepticon.
"That may be, Prime, but my orders still stand," Skyquake said while Bumblebee and Chromette hid behind rocks behind them.
"Is this ancient war still worth fighting, when so many comrades have been lost and worlds destroyed?" Optimus asked, he then turned to Starscream, "If you want to be a true leader, Starscream, then stray from Megatron's path and lead the Decepticons toward peace."
"I would be willing to consider a truce…" Starscream said, "If you would be willing to bow before me, Optimus Prime."
"Again?!" Skyquake asked Starscream, "Bow to this!" He then attacked him with his shoulder, causing him to be thrown towards a rock wall.
Starscream transformed as soon as he got up and flew away.
"Skyquake,this is a new era on another world," Optimus said, "Side with the Autobots, and help me end this conflict forever."
"I will never side with a Prime!" Was Skyquake's answer before charging right at him, slamming him at a wall and then grabbed him and threw him.
Starscream transformed as he approached a cliff that Soundwave was standing on, "What need have I for peace when I have Skyquake?" Starscream asked. "With some discipline, he will learn to respect his new Master. And once it becomes known that Skyquake destroyed Optimus Prime under my command, All Decepticons will gracefully bow to me."
Meanwhile, Chromette and Bumblebee watched as Optimus activates his blaster and shot Skyquake at his chest, and Skyquake dodged as Optimus fires his blaster again and took out his own blaster, a machine gun, he fired the gun at Optimus's chest causing him to skid backwards.
Seeing this, Chromette and Bumblebee rushes towards Skyquake at different angles, Optimus notices this, "Bumblebee, Chromette, No!" The two autobots jumped, activated their blasters and shot at Skyquake in the back. Skyquake felt this, he turned around, shooting his gun at bumblebee, who was jumping from rock wall to rock wall and tried to attack him with his fists and Skyquake threw him towards a wall, while Chromette hid behind a rock, Stealthily. Meanwhile Optimus approached Skyquake and moves his gun towards the sky, Bumblebee got up and tried to tackle him, only for Skyquake to throw him across the ground.
Chromette got put from her hiding place and began shooting at him with her blaster.
Meanwhile on the cliff, Soundwave was recording the battle taking place between the three Autobots and Skyquake, "Do not miss a single moment, Soundwave! We shall need visual documentation of Optimus Prime's demise for the historical record."
Back with the Autobots, Optimus punched Skyquake in the face, but then Skyquake tried to punch him, which Optimus avoided and tried to grab him from the back, Skyquake punched him and stumbled back towards Bumblebee, while Chromette kept shooting at him, when he rushed toward her, but fortunately for her, she noticed this and ran from him, with agility and regrouped with Optimus and Bumblebee.
Bumblebee buzzed, noticing that Skyquake hasn't transformed, wondering why, "Skyquake has not yet acquired a vehicle mode," he explained.
"Let's hope he doesn't acquire one," Chromette stated, when Skyquake rushes towards them holding him gun.
"Fall back!" Optimus ordered and the three autobots transformed into their alternate modes, reversed and made a U-turn before accelerating away, causing dust to fly into the air.
"So time has made you a coward, Prime?!" Skyquake said and began shooting.
Back at base, Ratchet was 'helping' Raf with his volcano by turning it metallic volcano, and welding the metal with one of his tools that he has equipped inside his arms, "Let's see. "Where is it?" He asked trying to find one of his other tools
"Um… what is it?" Raf asked Ratchet.
"You'll find out," Ratchet told him before continuing to weld the metal together.
"But, Ratchet, shouldn't I be doing the work?" Raf asked him walking toward the volcano and touched it.
"Eh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't touch!" Ratchet said as he saw Raf touch the volcano, "Just watch and learn." He then continued to weld the metal to gather.
"So, we're just gonna go help Jack and Miko finish their…" Bulkhead starts as he was getting bored of watching Ratchet do all the work..
"Without my supervision?!" Ratchet asked Bulkhead and Arcee, "You want them to be right, don't you?" Bulkhead and Arcee then looked at each other for a second before turning back to Ratchet, "Then watch a master at work." He then went back to welding the metal together.
Jack and Miko watched this play out from above "Control freak!" Miko noted before looking at Jack.
Back in the desert, Soundwave has lost the Autobots as he looks around for them with his visor from above the canyon. "We've lost sight of them," Starscream said "Soundwave, why aren't you tracking them?" Soundwave's visor suddenly beeps "What? What is it?" Starscream looked at his Visor and notices that he found another Decepticon life signal, and this one was in space. "A second Decepticon life signal?" He folds his Arms, "But Skyquake is the only sleeper buried in this area."
Soundwave zooms into the location of the second Decepticon life signal, revealing that it was at a familiar location, "The site of our destroyed space bridge. You're not telling me that life signal belongs...to Megatron?" He asked with confusion, "B-B-But he was microns from the detonation point? Nothing could have survived that blast! Your sensors must be faulty! Ignore the contact! Delete the coordinates!" He turned away from Soundwave but Soundwave didn't do as he was told, "Oh, what am I saying?" Starscream said before turning back towards him, "O-Of course this must be investigated," he said while chuckling. "If Lord Megatron is up there, I shall bring him home. Remain here and monitor the outcome. When Skyquake snuffs Prime's Spark, I must bear witness." He jumped off the cliff, transformed and flew out towards space, to the destroyed space bridge.
"Must bear witness," Soundwave said using a recording of what Starscream just said and secretly deployed his minicon to follow Starscream.
Meanwhile near the canyon, Agent Fowler was flying a military jet called a VTOL when he heard a transmission on the communications system, "Tango 6 Alpha to central command. We're picking up transmissions originating from unidentified technology, possibly hostile. We are moving to investigate."
"Negative, Tango 6 Alpha," Fowler said, pressing a button on his VTOL to contact the person sending the transmission, "This is Special Agent William Fowler intercepting. Strike your report from the records and provide origin coordinates. I'll take it from here." He began to fly to the canyon.
Meanwhile Bumblebee was being chased by Skyquake and he lead him toward a dead end at a rock wall, "It will be a shame to crush you here, Bug, But it is my duty," Skyquake said.
Suddenly Optimus and Chromette came up to Skyquake from behind in their alternate modes "Not if we say anything about it," Chromette said.
Skyquake turns around, "It will be a shame to crush you as well, femme, but like I told your friend here, it is my Duty." He took his machine gun out and began to shoot them and they transformed, Optimus punched him toward the Rock wall, while Chromette used her blasters on him, causing no damage to him.
"Excellent strategy, Bumblebee," Optimus told bumblebee.
"I agree that was a nice strategy," Chromette said, complimenting the scout.
Skyquake fell from the wall onto the ground, opened his optics and saw Optimus standing above him and slashes at Optimus's windshield chest, leaving scratch marks on him. "Skyquake, stay down," Optimus said before punching him, causing some Damage to his face, as he fell to the ground, Optimus, Bumblebee and Chromette surrounded him as Fowler flew above them and they noticed "Fowler?" Optimus said as Skyquake leaned up and started to scan Fowler's VTOL. "Agent Fowler, Fall back!" Optimus said as he touched his comlink.
"Do as Optimus says," Chromette said, touching her comlink on her head, "the Decepticon we're fighting is about to scan your jet."
Fowler's VTOL suddenly gets a little electrical problems as Skyquake scans it for a second before returning to normal.
Skyquake stood up, ran a little before jumping and Transforming into a VTOL and flew up into the air, next to Fowler's VTOL.
"Well, I'll be a bald eagle," Fowler said as he notices that Skyquake scanned his VTOL and was beside him.
"Air superiority achieved," Skyquake said as he flies back into the canyon, shooting at the Autobots with his alternate mode's machine gun. The autobots ran from the bullets from the machine gun and transformed into their alternate modes, Skyquake soon opened up a hatched where two missiles were as he tracked Bumblebee.
Fowler then suddenly began attacking Skyquake with his VTOL's machine gun, "Stealing plans for a classified military aircraft will not be tolerated on my watch!" Fowler said and then Skyquake went behind the Human and began to deploy heat-seeking missiles at his VTOL, Fowler's VTOL's tracking system noticed the missiles. "Heat seekers!" He said before flying from the missiles and as he approached the wall Optimus knocked Skyquake into, he flew up, and as he did so, the missiles crashed into the wall. "I still got it."
Meanwhile in Space, at the destroyed space bridge, Starscream was looking around for Megatron's body, he approached a chuck of the metal from the space bridge transformed into his robot form and landed on it, looks around, "No one could have survived this," he said before sighing "As I suspected, faulty sensors. The last thing I need now are rumors that Megatron is still…" he stops in mid-sentence as he hears Megatron groan by a radio transmission, he gasps, as he sees Megatron floating in space, he jumps onto another piece of the damaged space bridge before going towards the badly damaged warlord. "Megatron.
Suddenly the body of Megatron jolted to life for a split second, "Die!" Megatron said, grabbing him by the arms before falling back and going unconscious.
"But how?" Starscream asked before notices that there was a sliver of Dark Energon still embedded in his chest, "Ah, Dark Energon," he faces him, "everyone believes you are deceased. Who am I to disappoint then… Master?" He plucked the Dark Energon from his chest, Megatron groans as he woke for a second before falling back unconscious. "And this time stay dead!"
Suddenly he heard Laserbeak's flying sound, he realizes that Soundwave has dispatched Laserbeak to watch him, "Uh…" he turns around and sees Laserbeak approach, "Soundwave, if you are listening, I have found Lord Megatron, and he is… unwell. We must transport him to sickbay immediately."
Back in the canyon, Optimus, Bumblebee and Chromette were being chased in alternate mode by Skyquake as he continues to strafe them with his alternate mode's machine gun, he then deployed his missiles and the missiles hit Optimus, causing him to transform.
Chromette transformed as she saw Optimus get hit, "Optimus, are you alright?"
"I will be, Chromette, let's just hope Bumblebee does something clever."
Bumblebee evaded Skyquake's bullets as he accelerated toward a natural formed ramp and transformed as he reaches the top of a cliff, saw Skyquake approach the other side of the cliff, he then ran toward the other side of the cliff, jumped down and jumped onto Skyquake's wing.
Skyquake tries to knock the scout off of him, by rubbing against a rock wall, but this was unsuccessful as Bumblebee stayed on top of him and flew upwards.
Optimus and Chromette notices this, "Agent Fowler, we require immediate assistance," he said, activating his comlink.
"Bumblebee is on top of Skyquake, we need you to help him with what he's planning," Chromette said, activating her comlink as well.
Skyquake tries to shake Bumblebee off of him by trying a barrel roll, but it was unsuccessful as Bumblebee didn't let go of him, he began to punch him, grabbing wires out of him, on the right side of Skyquake's alternate mode and then did the same to the other side.
Skyquake in his vehicle form began to lose altitude as he began to fall towards the canyon at a high speed, Bumblebee buzzed asFowler approached beside them, "Any time, fella. Ground floor's coming fast." A few seconds later Bumblebee jumped from Skyquake onto Fowler's VTOL. Skyquake soon crashed into the canyon, everyone saw this, "Happy landings, 'Con."
Bumblebee jumped off of Fowler's VTOL and landed on a cliff of the canyon, he saw that Skyquake was in mid-transformation as he crashed.
Bumblebee jumped off the cliff as Optimus and Chromette approached the Decepticon, who closed his optics, while Optimus deactivated his battle mask as Bumblebee walked up next to the Prime, "Had Skyquake chosen to stray from his master's path, we might not be burying him today," the prime said.
"I agree with you, Optimus," Chromette said, "We really need an Autobot that is a flier, like Jetfire here on Earth with us."
As they said that Soundwave observed from a cliff.
Back at base, the next day at night, Optimus, Chromette were both present while Ratchet was finishing repairs on Bumblebee, "Bumblebee, putting yourself at risk was perhaps not the wisest of strategies, but you performed admirably," Optimus said.
"Bumblebee," Chromette said "Optimus is right, as you could have gotten yourself killed, but I'm glad you didn't."
Bumblebee walked out of the repair bay and buzzed replies to the two autobots and then suddenly they heard Bulkhead's alternate mode's horn, announcing his arrival with Arcee. "Aha-Ha-Ha! There you are," Ratchet said walking away from the repair bay towards the children as Raf and Miko exited Bulkhead and Jack hopped off Arcee before the two autobots transformed and stood behind them. "Well? How were my, Uh, our projects received?"
"Well…" Raf said.
Earlier that day at their school, during the science Fair, Miko stood inside a class room with a model replica of Cybertron with both of its moons. "Miss Nakadai, what planet would that be?" A judge asked the Japanese exchange student.
"Um… Cybertron?" She answered hesitantly before the model of cybertron fell from its hook.
With Jack he stood in the same room with a giant saw, "It's large, Mr. Darby, but is it operational?" The judge asked Jack, he activates the saw which was sent rolling around causing people to scream.
Finally Raf stood in the same room with the metallic Volcano, which crackles with electricity, "I hesitate to ask, Mr. Esquivel, but, uh is it active?" The judge asked, Raf steps a few feet away from the volcano, presses a button on a remote, the volcano then suddenly fires a laser up towards the ceiling of the school, creating a hole in the ceiling, pedestrian walking on the sidewalk heard the laser and looked up, wondering what the sound was.
"Well on our planet, you would have been awarded the highest honors," Ratchet said walking away, disappointed at the grade that the judge gave the children, "Absolutely no gratitude. See if I help them."
Bumblebee walked towards Optimus and Chromette and he buzzes, "Indeed, Bumblebee. Our humans would have been wise to stray from ratchet's path."
"I agree," Chromette said, "those projects that he made for them sounded like he was being a control freak."
Meanwhile the Nemesis was floating in space as Starscream and Soundwave stood in the sickbay with Megatron hooked up to a life support system, "The troops will be pleased to hear of our success in rushing Lord Megatron into Stasis. Let us hold that our Master pulls through."
