"Dreadwing, damage report," Megatron requested.
"We have suffered critical damage to all major systems, Lord Megatron. It will be some time before we can get the ship airborne," Dreadwing reported.
"Soundwave," Megatron said turning to his Surveillance and communications officer.
Soundwave's visor showed a clip of Bulkhead jumping towards the engines with his wrecking ball mace, they couldn't see who it was, so Soundwave zoomed in on Bulkhead, revealing to them that Bulkhead damaged the Nemesis.
"So it was an Autobot. They would move quickly to exploit any perceived weakness," Megatron said.
"Surely, they're not foolish enough to launch a direct assault, my liege," Knockout objected.
"Optimus has grown decidedly more ruthless since our last encounter," Megatron pointed out.
Soon enough, Knockout, Dreadwing and Megatron were in the engine room of the ship. Surrounding them were multiple boxes of stored Energon. Before, Megatron had decided on a way to get the ship airborne sooner rather then later.
"Lord Megatron as your physician, I strongly advise against this!" Knockout protested, "Dark Energon's regenerative properties are impressive, but the side effects, there's no telling how it might impact the ship."
"Dark Energon courses through my veins. Infusing the warship will enable me to manipulate the craft as if we are one. And together, we shall crush Optimus Prime and destroy the Autobots!" Megatron vowed.
"But when the Insecticons suddenly back off, I got inspired by my proximity to the power core and did what I do best," Bulkhead smirked as he pounded his fist together.
"You trash Megatron's ride like a rock star in a hotel room!" Miko cheered as she held her hands up with the 'rock-on' sign.
"We should hit the 'Cons right now while they're vulnerable!" Arcee decreed as she, Chromette and Bumblebee stepped forward, she still hasn't told Jack about her feelings as she's figured that it'd be best to tell him after this with the Nemesis was all over with.
"Agreed, Chromette said, agreeing with her twin sister.
"Megatron's warship may be grounded. But let's not forget that we remain vastly outnumbered. Especially since he has added the Insecticon hive to his ranks," Ratchet reminded everyone.
"Yeah, there's that," Chromette said, "Almost forgot about that."
"Then maybe it's time for me to call in an airstrike," Fowler suggested as he stepped forward.
"Or for us to consider more extreme measures, Agent Fowler," Optimus corrected.
No sooner then had he said those words, Optimus took Ratchet to the vaults where they would start storing the Iacon relics as they collected them. The vaults were the safest place for storage within the entire base. Hard to get into. The fact that the Decepticons don't know the base's location was an added bonus.
"The Spark Extractor?!" Ratchet said in surprise, "Optimus, are you certain you want to travel down this path?"
"While I am deeply reluctant to deploy a weapon of this caliber, especially one forged by Decepticon hands, this may be our only chance to end the war once and for all," Optimus decreed.
Aboard the Nemesis, Megatron's plans were set into motion. The clawed grabs picked up the cubes of stored Dark Energon and were loading them into the power core. Once enough cubes were loaded into the core, Megatron stepped forward and pushed up the handle that began the flow of the Dark Energon through the entire system. The pipes that were once glowing blue began turning purple to match Megatron's optics. The lights that were once white turned purple. The computers that were once purple, red and blue turned completely red with highlights of white and pink.
One event that Megatron had no knowledge of was taking place at the workstation that once belonged to Orion Pax. The database that Orion was supposed to decrypt before his departure from the Decepticon ranks filled the multiple screens. This event was one that wouldn't be considered alarming. However, what made the event alarming was that it began decoding the entire database.
"Yes. I can feel it!" Megatron cheered.
"Optimus, I'm detecting a massive energy spike at the Decepticon crash site. It appears to be Dark Energon," Ratchet announced as he was at the Cybertronian Computer system.
Without saying another word or even offering any form of clarification, Ratchet immediately raced to the Ground Bridge and pulled down the handle for activation. Instantly, they heard the whirr of the Ground Bridge coming to life and the portal appearing in the long hallway that once held no exit.
"Autobots, transform and roll out," Optimus said.
Bumblebee, Bulkhead, Arcee and Chromette immediately transformed and drove through the portal.
"Hold on, Prime," Fowler said as Optimus went to follow the others, stopping him as he turned to his liaison, "If you are gonna deploy some kind of super weapon in the final showdown with the 'Cons, it's my job as a representative of Planet Earth to bear witness." Optimus and Ratchet looked at one another, whether they should allow it, but they ultimately allowed him to come with them.
Bulkhead, Bumblebee, Arcee and Chromette turned around and saw Optimus approaching. Fowler immediately jumped out of the truck, allowing Optimus to transform into his robot mode. Walking forward, Fowler couldn't help but be amazed.
When they arrived at the site, the Autobots didn't know what to expect. They knew to expect something dangerous because of the involvement of Dark Energon. One thing they certainly didn't expect was for the ship to be airborne.
"Sweet Lady Liberty," Fowler said with amazement.
On his visor, Soundwave was showing Megatron footage from outside the Nemesis. Megatron glanced at the visor and knew that his mortal enemies had arrived. This was perfect. Now he could finally set his plans to motion and finally end the war in their favor.
"Optimus, you never disappoint," Megatron smirked.
Optimus immediately stepped forward as the guns aboard the Nemesis were deployed. He stood in front of Arcee, Chromette and Bulkhead, ready to fight if necessary. Behind him, Arcee, her sister and Bulkhead tensed as they too prepared to fight.
"Bumblebee, now," Optimus instructed his scout.
Bumblebee, in his alternate form raced forward towards the Nemesis, swerving around on occasion to avoid the purple shots that were fired from the guns above him.
"Arcee, Chromette, Bumblebee, draw their fire," Optimus instructed as they raced forward.
From behind their cover, Fowler could see what was happening through a pair of binoculars. They watched Bumblebee as he swerved around to avoid the occasional shots that would still be fired at him. In the front passenger seat of Bumblebee's car was the Spark Extractor.
"Once you launch the Spark Extractor, be sure to clear its radius before it can activate," Optimus warned Bumblebee on his comlink.
Bumblebee then transformed into his robot mode with the Spark Extractor in his servo as he ran towards the Nemesis. However a dish shaped device suddenly appeared from inside and a purple beam of light spurted from the antenna. As Bumblebee jumped up to activate and throw the spark extractor at the Nemesis, the beam hit him. Weak beeps could be heard as he fell to the ground completely immobilized. The Spark Extractor fell out of his servos.
"Bumblebee!" Optimus cried as he saw Bumblebee being immobilized.
"Mine!" Arcee said as she grabbed the Spark Extractor but she soon was zapped by the beam of light as well, causing her to get immobilized as well.
"Arcee!" Chromette cried as she saw her sister being immobilized.
Megatron was watching this through the screen. He was partially impressed. But mostly, he was confused. Knockout, Soundwave and Dreadwing were the same way.
"I didn't even realize the ship was equipped with a Stasis beam," Knockout remarked.
Bulkhead ran towards the Spark Extractor and picked it up, only to be hit by the stasis beam.
Chromette saw this, went to grab the Spark extractor, and tried running away from the Stasis beam, only to be hit by it, immobilizing her.
Optimus widened his optics in horror, and he quickly raced forward, jumping and rolling around to avoid the stasis beam. Racing past the stunned Arcee, Bumblebee and Bulkhead, Optimus retrieved the spark extractor from Chromette's servo. He soon realized that he wasn't going to get anywhere on the ground, he jumped. The stasis beam shut down for the time being. However, it was quick to start up again as it aimed at the airborne Optimus. Electricity cackled from Optimus' body as he was immobilized.
The Nemesis was approaching Fowler as the ship's weapons aimed at him.
"So much for Christmas in Fiji," Fowler remarked only for the weapons to retract back into the ship, surprising Fowler.
"The Spark Extractor!" Megatron gasped as he noticed the weapon in Optimus's possession, "Guide us closer so that I may collect what belongs to me and destroy the Autobots."
However, that was something that wasn't going to happen. At Orion Pax's old workstation, one set of coordinates were decoded and pinpointed on the map. With a mind of its own,as the Dark Energon infusion reawakened the stasis-locked Trypticon, the Nemesis began flying away from the battlefield, surprising Fowler on the ground even more.
"Team's down. Requesting Medevac," Fowler said as he contacted Ratchet.
"What?! Where are you going?! I said closer!" Megatron shouted at one of the Vehicons who were piloting the Nemesis.
"Lord Megatron, the ship seems to be navigating itself," the Vehicon told him.
"Override," Megatron ordered.
The Vehicon went to override the controls of the Nemesis only for the alarms to start blaring as the Nemesis was rejecting the commands for full-system override and continued on.
"The system's are bypassing manual contro-" the Vehicon started only to get electrocuted by waves of electricity coming from the controls and fell to the ground dead.
"It appears the ship now possesses a will of its own," Knockout remarked as he realizes that Trypticon was reawakening.
"Impossible!" Megatron said with disbelief as he was certain that he put Trypticon in permanent Stasis-lock when he turned him into the Nemesis before leaving Cybertron, "Trace the problem to its source and fix it!"
"Do not tamper with my systems! This will be your only warning!" Trypticon threatened Megatron and the other Decepticons within him.
"Warning?!" Megatron said with disbelief.
"My mission assumes priority. Any Cybertronian who interferes will be neutralized!" Trypticon explained.
"My own vessel dares to address me in threatening tones?!" Megatron said with disbelief.
"It also seems to be doing a better job at decoding the Project Iacon database than we were," Knockout said after pointing at the database with one of his digits, "It's already deciphered a new set of coordinates."
"And judging by our current course, that is precisely where the ship is headed," Dreadwing said as he noticed the direction of the Nemesis's course on Soundwave's visor.
"As I desire. You see, this warship is nothing more than an extension of my very will," Megatron scoffed.
"Your will is nothing. The Iacon artifact will belong to me," Trypticon snapped at Megatron.
"I am Lord Megatron! I command you to cease operations!" Megatron ordered the Nemesis.
"You are no longer in command," Trypticon told the warlord.
A ray of purple light appeared above Megatron and emitted a painful noise. Kneeling to the ground, Megatron clutched his helm and let out cries of pain. The painful sensations in his helm felt as though his entire CPU were being re-scrambled.
"Regain control of this vessel by any means necessary," Megatron snarled dangerously.
Soundwave immediately deployed his cables towards the control panel. However as he did so electricity emitted from the control panel towards him, sending him into Stasis lock like what happened to the Autobots.
"All hands, cut power to the mainframe and disconnect data relays now!" Megatron instructed immediately.
Dreadwing took four Vehicons with him for his part of the mission. They had to shut down the ship before they all ended up dead or in a prolonged stasis. Diagonal purple beams filled the corridor then moved around all the corridors, looking for any Cybertronian that dared to stop the ship from performing its task. Dreadwing and the four Vehicons were the first to be hit by the beams. They were all frozen in place.
Four Insecticons snarled as they walked around the corridors of the ship. Even though they mainly acted on their primal instincts, they still understood orders. Even if those orders were to shut down the systems and stop the ship. However, those Insecticons, along with the rest of the Decepticons in the ship's corridors, were hit by the same beans that hit Dreadwing and the Vehicons that accompanied him.
Meanwhile, back at the Autobot base, Fowler and Ratchet had succeeded in bringing the Autobots that were locked in stasis into the confines of the base.
"They're alive, but I've never encountered this form of stasis lock," Ratchet told Fowler, Jack Raf and Miko as he was looking at the one of the Cybertronian Computer systems in the medical bay.
"The 'Cons are crossing the Atlantic, making a beeline for North America," Fowler told Ratchet.
"Wait. We can track them?" Jack said with confusion.
"Why aren't they cloaked, like usual?" Raf asked.
"None of this makes a lick of sense. They had us in their cross hairs, but the 'Cons just took off," Fowler said agreeing with the children.
"They even bailed on that Spark Extractor thingy," Miko added.
"Well, if the ship isn't cloaked, maybe the communications relay's open and-" Jack started.
"Yip yip," Ratchet said, interrupting Jack, "Are you suggesting that we call Megatron and ask him what's happening up there?!"
The humans looked at the medic shrugging.
"Lord Megatron, the computer has decrypted a second set of coordinates. Perhaps we should permit it to continue," Knockout suggested as he checks the Iacon database from Orion Pax's old work station when Optimus had amnesia, only for a stasis beam to hit him from behind.
"I do not require permission," Trypticon stated.
"Autobot outpost Omega one to Decepticon warship. Megatron please respond," Ratchet requested into the radio, earning no response.
Megatron raced through the corridors, knocking down multiple Vehicons that stood in his way. He had enough. His ship was blatantly ignoring his commands. His troops were dead or in stasis. His communications and surveillance office of the Decepticon cause was in stasis. His personal physician was in stasis. His first lieutenant was in stasis. Now he was going to regain control.
"This mutiny ends now," Megatron said as he grabbed the handle to reverse the flow of Dark Energon throughout the ship.
However, he met the same fate as the rest of his troops. He was stunned from behind with a stasis beam. Trypticon seemed to relish in his cry of surprise. Now that the entire ship was in stasis, no one can stop him.
"Megatron," Ratchet repeated himself as he continues, trying contacting the warlord with the Cybertronian Computer system.
"Megatron has been relieved of his command," Trypticon said answering the call.
"Who is this?" Ratchet asked.
"Who is this?!" Trypticon shot back.
"Have you taken control of the Decepticon vessel?" Ratchet asked him.
"I am Trypticon, also known as the Nemesis. Any Cybertronian who interferes with my mission will be neutralized," Trypticon answered before photos of Decepticons in stasis appeared on all three monitors.
"What mission?" Ratchet asked.
"Priority one: Decrypt Iacon database and recover Decepticon technology," Trypticon answered.
"For what purpose?" Ratchet asked.
they earned no answer from the ship. Instead, the communication was terminated. Ratchet scrawled at the screen as though it was the one to blame.
"It hung up?! Rude!" Miko remarked.
"Rude?! There's a giant spaceship flying around collecting Decepticon weapons of mass destruction!" Fowler retorted.
"Well, a giant spaceship filled with neutralized Decepticons," Jack said.
"Point?" Fowler asked him.
"This could be our only chance to slip aboard and download the Iacon Database," Jack answered.
"So Optimus can decode it," Raf added, knowing what Jack was getting at.
"Ingenious. I will infiltrate the Decepticon Warship," Ratchet announced.
"Not ingenious," Jack told him, "You saw what it did to the Decepticons."
"And probably Megatron, too," Raf said.
"And Team Prime," Miko added.
"But that tub had me dead to rights, and I'm still breathing." Fowler said.
"The ship or as it called it self Trypticon may be blind to humans," Jack realized.
"Very well, Agent Fowler. But at the first sign of trouble, I am bridging you right back here," Ratchet said before grabbing a Cybertronian sized flash drive, "Now in order to download the Database you will need a compatible transfer drive."
"A what?" Fowler asked as he accepted the transfer drive from Ratchet.
"He'll also need tech support," Raf said.
"And backup," Miko added.
The four of them walked through a Ground Bridge portal and arrived on the Nemesis, Fowler held the transfer drive on his side.
"Fowler to base. Were in," Fowler said, contacting Ratchet.
"Good. Their data core should be accessible from any console," Ratchet said as they walked past Vehicon that were in stasis lock.
As they searched for one of the ship's consoles, they found the stasis-locked Knockout hovering over a console.
"Here's one," Raf stuttered in fear as he saw Knockout, as whenever they encountered Knockout before, it never ends well.
Miko walks over to Knockout and pounds on his pede three times, and earned no response from the Decepticon medic.
"Doc Knock is knocked out," Miko smirked to her friends and Fowler.
"Look. The ship's decoded two sets of Iacon coordinates," Raf said as he noticed that the monitor had two sets of Cybertronian code on it when suddenly a third set of coordinates appeared, "Three. Let's rip and run."
Immediately, Fowler, Raf and of them began climbing up to the console using Knockout as leverage. Fowler raced up ahead so he could hoist everybody else up. Raf was first, followed by Fowler himself.
"There's the port," Raf said, pointing at a hole near the cybertronian keyboard.
Fowler immediately went to plug in the transfer drive. As soon as the drive was registered, the download began. They watched the download bars go from one to two. Jack glanced at the map of North America on one of the smaller screens nearby. It was then that he noticed where it was and he knew what was going to happen next.
"Uh…why is the warship heading for Manhattan?" Jack asked, causing everyone else to look up in alarm.
"Because that's where the first set of coordinates are located," Raf answered.
"Why would a relic from Cybertron be doing in the Big Apple?" Fowler asked Ratchet through the comlink.
"The Iacon relics landed on Earth eons ago, Agent Fowler. Long before the City was built atop it," Ratchet answered.
"Which means if Trypticon wants this one, he may have to move some buildings out of the way," Jack realized.
"Our mission just got complicated," Fowler told Ratchet, "How do we deter this ship?"
"I would advise disabling the navigation module. Call up the main navigation menu," Ratchet answered.
"There," Raf said, pointing at one of the keyboards on the console.
"Step aside, Son," Fowler told Raf and went over to the touchpad across from the one where they plugged the Transfer drive into.
However, this was something that Fowler hasn't got. When he knelt down and touched the metal surrounding the touchpad keyboards, he was electrocuted. They all raced forward to catch him before he fell over the edge to the ground. Unfortunately, they weren't quick enough. Fowler fell off the keyboard and to the ground unconscious.
"Agent Fowler!" Jack cried.
"System access detected. Interference will not be tolerated," Trypticon said.
"There," Raf said as he noticed a security camera on the ceiling.
"Reveal yourself," Trypticon demanded.
"It doesn't see us!" Miko cheered after nothing happened.
"Not yet. The ship must not be scanning for carbon life forms," Ratchet said, "But once it expands its search parameters…"
"We're toast," Raf surmised.
"I'm bridging you back!" Ratchet immediately told them.
"No," Jack said, "There are millions of lives at stake in New York and we three are currently the only ones who can do anything about it."
"You're out of your element, Jack," Ratchet said, These readings, the ship's rapid recovery all point to the fact that Megatron employed Dark Energon to repair it."
"Hold on," Jack said as he checks Fowler's pulse to see that he was still alive, "If you're saying the ship is fueled by Dark Energon, we can dump it, sending Trypticon back into Stasis, right?"
"Hmm. You'll need to reserve the warship's Energon infuser," Ratchet said, realizing that Jack had a point, "Follow the main overload conduits. They'll lead you to the power core."
Eventually, the three of them reached the power core. When they did, they found a sight that they would have a hard time removing from their minds.
Megatron was standing by the switch for the fuel injection valve. Actually, he was holding it. What surprised them was that, like everyone else on the ship, he was in stasis lock.
"Megatron had the same idea," Jack observed.
"Then we're on the right track," Raf decreed.
"The Energon injection valve can only be operated manually," Ratchet told them through the comlink.
"Manually?!" all three of them said in unison with disbelief.
"Give me a boost," Jack requested before walking forward towards the stasis-locked Megatron, he climbed onto Megatron's pede, and then climbed his back before walking on his arm with the Fusion Cannon. He carefully walked down Megatron's arm and jumped towards the console. Landing onto it, he immediately went towards the handle and began pushing. However, it wasn't budging. No matter how hard he tried, nothing happened.
"I am infested with alien life-forms!" They suddenly heard Trypticon say, causing Jack to freeze. They have been caught out. What made him more worried was that the ship's attention was focused on Miko and Raf.
"Uh-oh. We just got made," Miko said nervously.
claws came out from inside the ship and made a dash for Miko and Raf. The two barely managed to move out of the way. Immediately, the two of them began hiding among the cubes of Energon. Jack somehow knew that all the claw would have to do was remove the cubes to get to them. And since there weren't many hiding places, they would be vulnerable. Miko and Raf would be dead in a matter of moments if the ship got to them.
"All parasites will be eradicated," Trypticon threatened as he found Miko and Raf.
"Hey! Over here!" Jack called getting Trypticon's attention.
"Jack, no!" Raf cried.
"Run for it!" Miko pleaded as the Claw started going after Jack.
"Too slow!" Jack tormented as the claw appeared in front of him after he dodged it.
As the claw made a dash for him, Jack began running. He had a plan forming inside his head. He was hoping that it would work.
He looked at the Megatron that was frozen in stasis for a second with the corner of his eye and smirked as he realized that his plan was going to work. As the claw went for them, Jack jumped at the last minute. evading the claw, which collided with Megatron, hitting the warlord in the back, causing Megatron to fall backwards, taking the handle with him. Megatron completed dumping the Dark Energon from the Nemesis without even realizing it.
Jack evaded the falling Megatron as he fell back towards him onto the ground. The three humans watched as they saw the pipes change from purple back to blue as the Dark Energon was being expelled from Trypticon's power supply and was being replaced by Energon.
"Critical power drain. I am...in...command. Prepare to be...neutralized," Trypticon said as the claw tried to harm Jack, only for it to approach the console of the Energon injection valve.
Around them, the ship began to return to the state it was in before the Dark Energon as Trypticon was going back into permanent stasis-lock. Unfortunately, among them was Megatron beginning to come to.
"Run," Jack said as he, Miko and Raf began running away from the warlord.
Back at the Autobot base, the effects of the Stasis beam was wearing off, as Optimus' battle mask was being deactivated and he clutched for his helm. Bumblebee, Bulkhead, Arcee and Chromette soon followed as they also came out of Stasis-lock.
"Thank the Allspark," Ratchet said with relief when suddenly the Cybertronian computer system beeped.
"Ratchet! Fire up the Ground Bridge!" Jack said as he ran through the corridors of the Nemesis with Raf and Miko as the Decepticons were emerging from Stasis.
They soon entered the room where the console with the transfer drive was.
"On your feet, soldier," Miko said as she helped the woozy Fowler to his feet.
"And beavers and ducks and walnuts and grandma," Fowler sang before falling to the ground.
"That's all that's been downloaded?!" Jack said with disbelief as they looked at the download's progress.
"The Iacon file must be huge!" Raf stated.
"Sa-weet!" Miko cheered as a Ground Bridge portal suddenly opened behind them, and helped Raf pull Fowler to his feet, "Come on. Here's our ride!"
"Jack?!" Raf said as he noticed that Jack hasn't followed them.
"Get Fowler out of here," Jack said as Miko and Raf went through the portal, and approached Knockout, "Some's better than nothing. I'm not leaving without that drive."
Jack climbed up Knockout's frame onto the console, he began pulling at it, hoping it would dislodge before anything bad happened. With his luck, he didn't succeed as Knockout emerged from stasis-lock and noticed what was happening.
"Say 'Ahh'," Knockout threatened as he transformed his servo into his drill and aimed it towards him as Jack stumbled backwards, trying to get away from Knockout's drill.
"I'm here to offer a second option," they both suddenly heard Ratchet say from behind Knockout, and the Autobot medic punched Knockout's faceplate where his jaw was located, causing the Decepticon Medic to land on the console before falling to the ground.
Ratchet grabbed Jack before removing the Transfer drive from the console and immediately ran back through the Ground Bridge Portal back to their base which closed as they entered it.
"Lord Megatron, I-" Knockout started as Megatron approached him.
"You let them escape…" Megatron snarled with anger, "With vital intelligence."
Back at base Arcee approached Optimus, "Optimus, sir, can I talk to Jack for a moment?"
"Granted," Optimus said, knowing what she wanted to speak to him about.
"Jack, can I speak to you in private?" Arcee said approaching her partner.
"Uh, sure," he said nervously as they walked around the corner to somewhere more private to speak to each other privately, "What is it you want to talk to me about privately?"
"I have a question for you Jack, do you have feelings for me?" She asked him, catching him off guard.
"Did you just say what I think you say?" Jack said, not believing what he heard.
"Yes I did, Jack," she said, before asking again, "Do you love me?"
He blushed in embarrassment, "Yes, Arcee, Yes I do. How did you know? Did Ratchet, Fowler, Raf or Miko tell you?"
"No, it was my sister, '' she answered, "She noticed how I look at you and figured that Ratchet was figuring out a way to turn you into a cybertronian in order for the two of us can be together."
"You mean you share the same feelings I have for you?" He said with disbelief.
"Yes, I do Jack," she said, "Is Ratchet really finding a way to turn you into one of us?"
"He is, Arcee, he has been trying to find a way to turn me into a Cybertronian since the incident with Nemesis Prime," he answered.
"I love you with all my Spark," Arcee told him.
"I love you too, Arcee," he said as Arcee picked him up and kissed her on her cheek plate as they became somewhat boyfriend and Girlfriend.
"The Download of the Iacon database may have been incomplete, but we now possess four sets of coordinates decoded by the ship," Ratchet said after plugging the transfer drive into the Cybertronian Computer System and as Jack and Arcee came back into the room after admitting their love for one another.
