AN: It's been awhile, originally I had placed Sorceger on hiatus because it wasn't getting much attention, then I decided to pair it with Fuge once it reached chapter 4 as well. Honestly though I kind of regret it because I love the world of Sorceger and I had a lot of fun writing this chapter. Anyway enjoy the long awaited return of Soshi Sentai Sorceger!

Spell 4: Beneath the Surface
Nativus Sanctuarii
Iatnes walked through the training hall, watching his students attempts to conjure stronger spells. Eoti had chastised the 5 that they constantly relied on the same beginner level spells and that they should try and unlock stronger spells, spells as he'd call it would really knock Finternis on their asses.
He winced as he walked by Hikayasu, ash covering his face as the fire he had been trying to maintain blew up in his face. Iatnes sighed and shook his head, "Hikayasu take a rest, you did well enough just holding the fire there for long enough."
Hikayasu cursed under his breath and fell to the ground, clearly annoyed at himself. Iatnes sent him a sympathetic look before nearly tripping over something, looking down to find Diego on the ground either passed out from working too hard or sleeping. Iatnes said nothing as he walked by the struggling Terra who was trying to raise the earth up with just a kick from his feet but continued to fail.
Iatnes gave the silent man a nod before walking past Maya who was struggling to free herself from some vines around her feet, "Uh a little help here Master Iatnes." Iatnes chuckled lightly before helping her out, resulting in her sitting down, her legs tired from being wrapped in vines.
He finally got to Lian who didn't seem to be having any trouble at all, a contained miniature whirlpool surrounded her as she concentrated, ignoring her teammates struggles. Iatnes smiled and clapped, "Very good Lian, although I should expect nothing less from the Princess of Agul."
Lian opened her eyes and water surrounding her went back into the pool it had come from, "Well Master Iatnes I just can't help the fact that us Agulians are just superior in magic and in intelligence for that matter. Although I do wish my teammates would try a little bit harder to match my excellence."
Iatnes frowned, even he had found that the people of Agul were a bit vain and conceited and didn't like meeting with them unless he had to, he was just hoping Lian's boasting wouldn't trigger another argument. He winced however as he heard Hikayasu rise from the floor and walk over to Lian, "Get off your high horse Princess, unlike you we've actually earned our strength, you didn't have to work for any of that magic that you're claiming is so great."
Lian glared at him, "Excuse me? We Agulians may be naturally gifted in magic but I will have you know you common thief that I have trained harder than you ever will to hone my magical ability." Hikayasu scoffed as the others appeared behind him, "All you do is brag and look down on us, sorry we aren't as great as you but we're pretty tired of it. Get over yourself Princess."
Lian frowned as Hikayasu turned to walk away, Diego following him and even Terra who nodded and turned to leave as well. Lian said nothing as Maya approached her, "Lian listen, Hikayasu was just frustrated he didn't actually mean it. We're a team and when it comes down to it we work together."
Lian scoffed at her comment, "Oh please Maya you really think I care about what he said or what all think of me? It's as you said, when it comes down to it we'll fight together but besides that why should I care about what a bunch of commoners think of me."
Maya stepped back a bit and frowned, "But it would be better if we could all be friends, magic works wonders when combined." Before Lian could respond, Iatnes who was still there cleared his throat, "Those beliefs that your parents instilled into you Lian, it won't get you that far with your teammates, and keep it up and they may one day abandon you when you need it most."
Lian said nothing as she considered what Iatnes said, the old sorcerer turning towards Maya, "Maya if you'd please get the others to come back here, there's something that needs to be discussed with all of you."
Maya nodded and left to do as Iatnes said, Lian remaining silent as she pondered what Iatnes had said. She had tried once, to ignore her parents' teachings, but it didn't get her far. It was better to just continue being who they wanted her to be, afterall she was better than all of them anyway, and who was she to deny that simple fact.

Finternis
Prince Vulkan and Princess Nessa arrived in the throne room, bowing before their father who nodded at them. Vulkan stood up and looked at the Emperor, "Father you summoned us?"
Emperor Wonkle nodded, "Indeed, I've just received word that Agul has agreed to meet with us to discuss an alliance, they've invited us to their capital city of Boshi, but I'm too busy here to go myself."
Vulkan quickly stepped forward, eager to prove his worth, "Allow me to go on your behalf then Father! I'll negotiate the alliance personally and make sure this isn't some kind of trick."
Wonkle frowned and shook his head, "No, I respect your abilities my son but if I have learned anything from your visit to Faiaharto, it is that you are not the negotiating type. I'll be sending Nessa instead." Nessa stood up and nodded, "I won't fail you father."
Vulkan frowned, "But Father, Nessa has hardly ever left Schaleir, how can you be so sure she'll do fine if she's never gone past the capital?"
Wonkle said nothing for a moment before placing a hand on his chin in thought, "I considered this but for this mission we need someone who's more compassionate than you or I. I certainly can't send Mond by himself and you my son, you are not compassionate in the slightest. So it is best if Nessa goes, accompanied by Mond of course just in case something happens."
Vulkan said nothing as both children bowed before their father again, Nessa had a pit in her stomach. Agul forming an alliance with Finternis just meant another country that would be closer to being under her rule, she didn't want that. Deep down she was hoping that somehow, someway, the Sorceger's would appear and stop this alliance from happening.

Nativus Sanctuarii
It had taken a few moments but Maya had finally convinced the others to come back to the main hall. Hikayasu continuing to glare at Lian as Iatnes finally spoke up, "We're going to be traveling to Boshi today, the capital of Agul and home of the royal family, Lian's family."
Hikayasu scowled, "Why would we ever even need to go there? If they're anything like Princess over here they'll probably just look down on us." He gestured to Lian who ignored him as Iatnes continued to speak, "I received word from an ally within the city, apparently Finternis is going to be coming to Boshi to negotiate a potential alliance. I always found it strange that they never responded to my letters about a potential alliance but now with this news it has me worried. As much as Hikayasu hates to hear it, Agul has very powerful sorcerers that I'd prefer to not have as enemies."
Lian slammed her hands down on the table they all stood around, clearly angry, "There's no way that's true! Agul would never ally with Fintenris, especially after they destroyed Paxlux, they were our ally."
Iatnes sighed, "You forget Lian, Agul has only ever not had a war with Finternis and Amazonia, every other country Agul either considers an enemy or neutral at best and Paxlux considered everyone an ally but even Agul had it's problems with them. In addition Agul has a special hatred for Faiaharto and Fintenris seems to be targeting them the most, so if Fintenris promised to destroy them first I very well could see your parents agreeing to an alliance."
Lian frowned, "MY PARENTS WOULD NEVER DO THAT!" Eoti scoffed at her outburst, "Oh please Princess, all you Agulians have your heads up your asses thinking you're better than everyone, it's a strong possibility they'd side with Finternis if it meant proving their superiority."
Iatnes signaled for Eoti to stop, "Lian I understand it's a hard thing to consider, but please try to put aside personal feelings. We need you to accompany us or else I fear the King and Queen won't even entertain our visit."
Lian's hand clenched into a fist as she sighed before looking down at the map that was on the table, staring intently at Agul, "Fine, I'll go. But only so you can see that this entire idea that Agul would side with a country who committed genocide is ridiculous."
Iantes nodded, "Very well Lian. We leave in an hour, so all of you prepare whatever you have to. Hikayasu I suggest you let Prime Minister Soma know what's happening, Agul may not be too happy about a Faiahartian entering their capital city." Hikayasu nodded as everyone left the main hall, leaving Lian alone with her thoughts. Her Father and Mother couldn't possibly actually be considering an alliance, could they?
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
12 Years Ago
7 year old Lian sat gazed out on the vast city of Boshi, standing on a palace balcony as her father continued his lecture to her and her little brother Long, "You see that's why the people of Agul are superior to the rest of the world. They could never hope to match our country's achievements or skill in magic and you two as part of the royal Fa family are superior to even the rest of Agul, never forget that."
Long nodded as Lian looked at him, he was only 2 years younger than her and ate up every word her Father said. Lian looked down at the city encased in a bubble, seeing citizens walking the streets and smiled, "But Father if we're so much better than everyone shouldn't we try and help them be as great as us?"
Her Father chuckled and shook his head, "You sound like me when I was younger Dewdrop, no. We tried once to show the other countries our ways but they rejected us, claiming we were no better than them. Especially those barbarians, the Faiahartians, they've been a thorn in our side for too many centuries. So now we will sit back and let them do what they want as we continue to prosper."
Lian nodded slowly, "Yes Father I understand." Long laughed as he jumped up towards his Father who caught him, "Papa I wanna be just as great as you one day, showing everyone else how great I am!"
The King laughed, "Oh I'm sure you will one day surpass me Long, now come how about you help me check in on our armies?" Long nodded excitedly and the two went back into the palace, leaving Lian to gaze out into the city on her own. She didn't understand why they couldn't just help the other countries if they really were so great, or why they had to act like they were so much better than the other people in Agul. Weren't they all Agulians anyway?
She sighed before noticing banned hanging from the balcony, she thought for a moment. She'd never left the palace before and she was always curious why her parents never let her. Deciding her Father wasn't going to pay attention to her anyway since he was busy with his perfect Prince, she climbed up the balcony walls, grabbing the banner and sliding down it to reach the ground.
It was easier than she thought to sneak out of the palace, most of the guards were busy with whatever her Father had gone to check up on. As she got past the gates, she noticed something was different immediately. Things were dirty, old and in a sorry state as she passed by.
The people seemed sad and tired as she walked the streets, none paying attention to her as she passed. As she walked she jumped as she felt a hand grab her shoulder. A small ball of water arose from the water beneath the dock she walked on, ready to hit whoever had touched her.
She turned around to see a boy her age, with short spiky black hair and icy blue eyes begin to laugh at her. She glared at him, "Don't you know it's rude to grab someone you don't know?" The boy laughed again, "But I do know you, you're the Princess, but you aren't in your grand palace."
She scoffed at him, "I wanted to see how my subjects were doing since I never get to leave the Palace myself." The boy whistled and shook his head, "Wow the Princess of Agul snuck out, you must not be like other royals then." She crossed her arms and stuck her tongue out, "Of course I'm not like other royals, I'm Lian Fa and I'm the definition of beauty and grace."
He rolled his eyes and put his arms behind his head, "Mhmmm sure, and tell me Princess Lian, how is it seeing your kingdom?" Lian frowned as she looked around, "It's sadder than I thought it would be. My Father always tells me how great we are and that we're superior to everyone else, but everyone here just seems to be struggling."
He chuckled again, "You're a smart kid, this is the condition you all leave us in. Your family only cares about themselves and would rather boast than do anything to improve things for us." She glared at him and put her hands on her hips, "Well when I get older I'm going to do something about it! If this is really how everyone is doing in Agul then it's my job as Princess to fix it. Just watch whatever your name is, things will get better with me."
He gave her a mock bow, smiling as he did so, "My name is Lee if you must know, and if you're being serious then I'll be the first in line to praise you." Lian smiled and nodded at him, "Just you watch then Lee cause I'm gonna change anything and since you're my first friend you're gonna be by my side while I do it."
He laughed again at her boasts, she wasn't sure if she was actually serious or not but she knew one thing, what her Father was telling clearly wasn't true. How could they be so much better if they couldn't even look after their own people?
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Burning Palace(Present Day)
Prime Minister Soma sat at his desk and sighed, "I appreciate you visiting me before you actually went to Boshi, Hikayasu, Faiaharto's relationship with Agul is rather fragile and I'd prefer you didn't cause an international incident."
Hikayasu crossed his arms and chuckled, "Oh come on, have some faith in me." Prime Minister Soma stood up and walked up and put a hand on his shoulder, "I do, but it's just that Agul is well Agul."
Hikayasu frowned, "I'm not exactly well read on our history with them being a street orphan and all, is it really that bad?" The Prime Minister nodded slowly, "Just as fire and water are natural adversaries so are Faiaharto and Agul. Since the beginning of recorded history we've fought with them and we've only maintained more of a ceasefire than a true peace and anything could possibly set off another war. But that wouldn't be good since we already have a war with Finternis, we can't risk a war with Agul too."
Hikayasu chuckled nervously, "Right so no pressure then?" The Prime Minister nodded, "Thankfully Iatnes will be with you, just follow his lead and I know this'll be hard for you but try to only speak when spoken to. Lastly if the King and Queen start bragging about their greatness then just let them talk, it's better that way."
Hikayasu nodded and sighed, he didn't realize how much pressure was truly on him, if he stepped out of line in Boshi then he could cause another war. Sadly though that meant he'd have to tolerate Lian if it came down to it. He gulped nervously, it was about to be a hard few days.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Boshi(Agul)
The group arrived from a portal as they walked into the gates of the Royal Palace. Guards bowed as Lian passed them, leading the group as she smiled, "It's nice to be treated like royalty again."
Hikayasu rolled his eyes before looking around, whispering to Diego, "Even I gotta admit this place is impressive." Diego smiled and whispered back to him, "Just try not to steal anything." Hikayasu laughed at his comment, "Come on man I told you what Soma told me, I gotta be on my best behavior."
Diego chuckled at his comment before Terra walked up between them, putting a hand on both of their shoulders, "Agul doesn't like Brisagera or Gaia either so we should all behave."
Hikayasu raised an eyebrow at him, "Did you just make a joke?" Terra simply flashed the two a small smile and walked forward leaving the two flabbergasted. The group finally arrived in the main hall, Lian's parents waiting for them along with her little brother.
Lian ran to them and quickly hugged them, "Father! Mother! It's wonderful to see you after so many months." Her Father patted her head, "Hello Dewdrop, it's wonderful for you to visit us after so long." Her Mother nodded, "Have you been keeping up with your training? I hope you've been showing everyone how great you are."
Her brother said nothing as he crossed his arms and seemed to glare at the group, "So these are the Sorceger's? They don't seem that impressive, and why is there a Faiahartian with you?" Hikayasu jumped slightly and tried his best to bow, "Uh I'm Hikayasu, SorceFire and representative of Prime Minister Soma of Faiaharto."
The King frowned, "Mhmm that's nice, just don't step out of line." Lian giggled and put a hand on her Father's wrist, 'Worry not Father, he can barely use magic he isn't a threat." Hikayasu grit his teeth as the Queen looked at him, "Oh is this true? Why would one of the crystals pick someone who can barely use magic?"
Seeing his growing annoyance, Iatnes finally spoke up, "Great King Zhou and Queen Li, I humbly thank you for allowing us to meet, I would greatly appreciate discussing the prospect of an alliance."
King Zhou stared blankly at him before nodding, "Of course Iatnes, now tell me besides Hicasazu who are the rest of these folks with you." Hikayasu wanted to comment but felt Terra's hand on his shoulder again, who gave him a simple shake of his head. Iatnes smiled, "Of course, here we have Diego Venti, Terra Nova, and Maya Birch."
The 3 bowed slightly but the King and Queen only seemed to really care about Maya, "Welcome to our Kingdom Maya, we hope that you enjoy your time here." Queen Li smiled and gestured with her hand, "Now come, we have prepared a banquette as we are also hosting representatives of Finternis as well, including their princess who we'd love for you to meet Lian."
Iatnes frowned as the group began to follow them, "So I see you're also discussing a possible alliance with Finternis as well then?" King Zhou did not look at him as he spoke coldly, "We are considering surrendering to Finternis and agreeing an alliance as it would beneficial for us, surely you understand that Iatnes."
Iatnes said nothing as Lian frowned at her father, "What do you mean you're surrendering to Finernis?" Queen Li scowled at her, "Do not worry yourself with that Lian, now do as you're told and try to meet with the Finternis Princess."
As they walked, Hikayasu whispered to Maya, "Man I really hope Prince Vulkan isn't here, last time I saw him I kind of messed up his face, it'd be awkward." Maya giggled quietly as she jabbed him in the ribs, "If he is here then you better behave yourself."
Hikayasu frowned, "Why does everyone keep saying that?" Maya shook her head as they finally arrived at the banquet. Hikayasu sure was impressed, he'd never really been to a banquet before and it was impressive.
Though it wasn't great that there were a bunch of Fintenris soldiers there, well nothing's perfect. Iatnes turned to the 5, "Try to mingle and not cause trouble, and Lian I know it's hard but for now go along with what your parents want and try to convince them to not go through with this."
Lian nodded reluctantly as Iatnes left to go speak more with King Zhou and she walked away with her mother, leaving the other 4 alone. Hikayasu sighed and slapped his hands together, "Welp since we're here, let's go enjoy the free food!"
Diego chuckled, "You don't have to convince me, just point me to it." Terra nodded in agreement and the boys left trying to find food as Maya stood there before shaking her head, "Guess I better make sure they don't cause trouble." She walked off in their direction, partly to also enjoy the food and partly to keep an eye on them.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
It had been a few hours into the party, Lian had mingled with so many guests and she was getting tired. She hadn't seen her teammates in awhile and Iatnes hadn't really left her Father's side still trying to talk to him.
She had stepped out for air, watching the city of Boshi, encased in its bubble and resting underwater. It was almost poetic, Boshi was separated from the world by the water and her parents were separated from the world because of their views.
As she gazed out she heard a voice from behind her, "Penny for your thoughts Princess?" Lian turned around to see a young man wearing a royal guard uniform. She smiled at him, "Hello Lee, I'd heard you joined the royal guard but I'm surprised my Father let you anywhere in the castle."
Lee took off his helmet and laughed, "Oh he still doesn't like me but he doesn't care as much since you aren't in the city. Probably still thinks we're gonna run off and elope."
Lian shook her head and giggled, "You wish, I'm way out of your league." Lee frowned, "So I take it you're here because you heard what was going on?" Lian nodded, "My family is stuck in the past with their belief that Agul is superior to everyone and doesn't need allies and that's going to doom us by allying with Finternis."
Lee crossed his arms, "I thought you believed that you were superior to everyone too?" Lian sighed, "It's hard to let go of that belief sometimes, I know I'm not better than anyone else but it's hard to break out of the ideals my parents beat into me."
Lee nodded in understanding, "Well listen, if it does happen that Agul allies with Finternis, just know that the Sorceger's would still have allies in the city." As she was about to question what he meant the door from within the hall opened and out stepped a woman with purple hair and wearing a long black dress.
Lee bowed to Lian and turned to walk out, leaving Lian with the woman. The woman frowned, "Oh I'm sorry did I interrupt your conversation?" Lian glared at her, judging by her features she was clearly from Finternis, but she never knew them to have purple hair like she did, "I assume there's a reason you interrupted my conversation?" The woman approached her, "You're Princess Lian of Agul right? Princess Nessa of Finternis, your parents keep telling me I should talk to you so here I am."
Lian said nothing as Nessa joined her at the rails of the balcony, looking out at the city, "It's really a beautiful city, I wouldn't mind living in a place like this." Lian scoffed at her, "What is Finternis's capital city of Schaleir a little too dark for you?"
Nessa giggled a bit from her question, "No it's a beautiful city as well, but I've never left it so Boshi is a different kind of beauty that I've never seen." Lian rolled her eyes, "Cut the niceties, what do you want?"
Nessa sighed, "I know you're also a Sorceger Lian, and I know you're all going to do something to try and stop this alliance from happening so I'll say this now, just leave."
Lian glared daggers at her, jumping back and preparing a small ball of water, pointing it at Nessa, "You really think I'm just going to let Finternis take my country? You call it an alliance but you and I both know this is just surrendering."
Nessa held one finger up, a ball of darkness appearing and flying at high speeds at Lian's water, causing it to turn to steam, "You and I both know surrendering to my country is better than the alternative." Lian scoffed at her, "Wow that actually sounded genuine, but I'm pretty sure you're just as crazy as your brother that attacked Faiaharto."
Nessa frowned and turned towards Lian, Lian could see sadness in her eyes but was still unsure if Nessa was just a good actor or it was real, "Princess Lian, you saw my magic I could've hurt you or even killed if I had wanted to, I don't want that. You should know better than everyone, being born into a royal family means following beliefs you don't always actually believe in yourself. I'll say it one last time, leave and let this happen."
Lian said nothing as the door opened once again, her brother entering, "There you are Lian, and I see Princess Nessa found you. Well I hate to interrupt your conversation but the main feast is out and Father and Mother are expecting you at the table." Lian and Nessa locked eyes as Lian moved towards the doors, nothing more was said between the two princesses as they went inside.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Dinner was quiet, Lian watching her parents talking with Nessa as if she was an old friend. She still hadn't seen her teammates and that was concerning but she figured Hikayasu was in hiding in order to not cause trouble and everyone else followed him.
She didn't want to say anything in front of Nessa and as she watched Nessa excuse herself from the table, Lian finally opened her mouth, "Father how can you actually be considering going through with this? Finternis is pure evil!" King Zhou glared at his daughter, "Contain your temper Lian, it's very unprincess like. Your Mother and I know exactly what Finternis is, and we're choosing what is in Agul's best interests, not that you'd understand since you ran off to be a Sorceger."
Lian shook her head, "You're only thinking of yourself, that's all you've ever cared about and still do." Long chuckled, "Because we are the only ones that matter, Lian, the rest of Agul will do what the royal family says as we are just simply superior." Queen Li sighed, "Honestly how much has that Iatnes influenced you Lian? You used to do whatever we told you and believed in our superiority just as much as us?"
Lian frowned, "I still believe that we are better in magic at the very least than the rest of the world. But I've realized that we should help them so that way we can all improve together. I refuse to continue on with your beliefs because it'll eventually destroy us."
King Zhou shook his head in disappointment, "Lian I will say this once as it's time for you and your friends to go to your rooms for the night. Support the royal family and what we think is best for Agul or you won't be a part of this family."
Lian said nothing as she got up from the table, she could swear she heard her brother snickering as she walked away. She wasn't going to let this alliance happen, but could she really abandon her family like that, could she?
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
7 Years Ago
She was never discovered when she snuck out that day, and for 5 years since then Lian had been sneaking out to meet up with Lee and explore the city more. She had learned a lot from him about the true state of her country and her people. Her parents only cared about themselves, everyone not within the palace didn't matter.
That is until today, her brother had discovered her sneaking out and she had returned to his snickering and her Father glaring at her, "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS LIAN!" Lian looked down at her feet, "Father I…."
Her face began to sting as her Father's hand met her face, the sound of the slap echoing in the palace, "You know what I don't want your excuses. I have told you multiple times Lian, you are a princess, you don't interact with those beneath you and you don't leave the palace, certainly not to meet some streetrat."
Lian looked at Lee who had been brought in and questioned by the guards, "Father please he's harmless, let him go." King Zhou looked at Lee who was continuing to struggle in the guards grasp, "Very well, throw him out and make sure he never comes near the palace again. As for you Lian, your training is going to be increased, if you cannot understand your family's superiority then it will be beaten into you until you fall in line."
Lian nodded slowly as she watched Lee be dragged out by guards still screaming, "Lian, I promise even if we can't be friends, one day I'll be by your side as you change things for the better."
Lian looked away from him as the palace doors closed, ignoring the tears forming as she followed her Father and brother back into the palace. Her Father wasn't lying, after that day her training became worse, more pain, more beatings, until she finally developed the personality her parents so wanted.
No one was better than her, no one was better than them, not some streetrat and not the other countries. Until the day she could actually help her people, then she would be the perfect little princess her parents wanted her to be.

Boshi(Present Day)
The floor was cold and damp as he woke up, his head hurt and he found himself in what seemed to be a jail cell. He looked to see Diego and Terra also waking up as he looked around, "Ok where are we?"
Diego frowned as he rubbed his eyes, "Seems to be a jail cell, they must've gotten the jump on us after they said they were taking us to guest rooms." Hikayasu stood up and crossed his arms, "Great, just great, it seems the Princess and Maya weren't included in this little prison stay."
Terra stood up and dusted himself off, "Told you, Agul doesn't like our countries." Hikayasu groaned, "Ok so where's Iantes to free us?" Diego shrugged, "Maybe they got him too?"
Hikayasu shook his head, "No there's no way, as much as I hate to admit it I'm worried about Lian and Maya, they probably have no idea this happened." Diego frowned, "Or Lian is in on it and Maya has no idea Lian has gone traitor."
Hikayasu crossed his arms, leaning against the cell wall, "I don't think she did, despite her attitude Lian cares just as much as us about stopping Finternis." Terra nodded in agreement, "Lian puts on an air of superiority but it's all an act, she doesn't believe what she actually says."
Both Diego and Hikayasu raised an eyebrow at him, "And how would you know that big guy?" Terra shrugged, "Just because I don't talk much doesn't mean I can't read people. Plus I understand the desire of wanting to please family."
Hikayasu frowned, "Well let's hope you're right and her and Maya will come rescue us soon." As they sat down in the cell, the door within the prison opened and King Zhou entered, "I do apologize for this Sorceger's but I can't have you interfering in our alliance and you 3 are the ones who would actually try and stop us."
Hikayasu glared at him, "You're about that one bud cause your daughter will stop you." King Zhou laughed at his statement, "Princess Lian will fall in line, make no mistake about that. Now I must go, the treaty will be signed tomorrow."
He left the 3 alone in the cell, Diego sighing, "Looks like everything is up to Lian, let's hope she comes through." Hikayasu nodded in agreement, really hoping Terra was right about Lian.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Iatnes walked through the halls of the palace, something was off. He couldn't find Hikayasu, Diego or Terra and all the guards had disappeared. As he walked he heard a laugh from behind him, quickly turning around to see who was behind him.
He narrowed his eyes, "Mond, I should've known that you'd be here." General Mond laughed, the wand he carried in his hand scraping on the ground, "Tell me Iatnes how's your new students doing? I do hope that they're better than the last ones."
Iatnes said nothing as he prepared a ball of light in his head, "What's your game here Mond?" Mond chuckled as his wand glowed with darkness before launching it at Iatnes, "TO SNUFF OUT THE LAST BIT OF LIGHT YOU OLD FOOL!"
Iatnes had no time to react, barely shielding himself with his spell before being launched back into the wall. He breathed heavily as Mond continued to approach him, he had no choice, he had to flee.
Before Mond could get any closer Iatnes vanished in a burst of light. Mond let out an annoyed scream, walking down the hallway to continue his plans, completely unaware that a familiar guard had listened to the whole confrontation around the corner.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Lian sat on her bed, deep in thought. She was unsure of what to do, she had her duties as a Sorceger but could she really abandon her family for it? Maya sat across from her, staring at her, "What did your Dad say to you that messed you up so much?"
Lian frowned, "He told me to support the family or else I wouldn't be a part of it?" Maya crossed her arms, "So? Lian no offense but your family seems horrible, they only care about themselves and despite how you act I know that isn't you."
Lian looked at her annoyed, "HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT IT ISN'T ME!" Maya reached over, putting a hand over hers, "Because I've known you for a year. You try to act all high and mighty but I see you stop to help people, sure you get annoyed by Hikayasu but I've seen you compliment his process with magic. You like to act like they do but you aren't your true self, beneath the surface, you're a good person who knows this can't happen."
Lian felt tears in her eyes, "I can't go against my family, I'm not strong enough, I never will be." Maya shook her head, "You're wrong, you are strong enough and even if you weren't then you have us, we'll be your family. But Lian, if you really do care about your people then use the fact that if you don't do anything they'll be worse off as strength."
Lian looked at her for a moment before nodding, "You're right Maya, we need to do something. But I'm not sure where to start." As she said that she heard someone clear their throat, "I can probably help with that." The two jumped up, seeing Lee standing before them, "Lee! What are you doing here?"
Lee bowed before approaching them quickly, "Princess, we don't have time. Your other 3 friends have been placed in a cell and Iatnes was forced to flee after a confrontation with one of Finternis's generals."
Maya raised an eyebrow at Lian, "Lian what's the first move here, it's your country I'll follow your lead." Lian frowned, "If we free the others then that'll definitely trigger a battle with Finternis and probably the guards here too. Maya, can you free the boys?"
Maya nodded, "They're probably itching to get out at this point." Lian looked at Lee, "Lee you said that we'd still have allies in the city even if Agul aligned with Finternis, can you gather them? The Sorceger's can handle Finternis but we need someone to handle the guards."
Lee nodded, "They stand ready to fight by your side Lian, but what will you be doing?" Lian sighed, "I'm going to try one last time to convince my parents to not go through with this, if I can't then I'll try to defeat them. I'll overthrow them if I have to." The two nodded as the 3 split up, each going to fulfill their individual tasks.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
18 Months Ago
It had taken years but Lian had finally convinced her Father to allow her to walk the city, in order to watch how the people went about their lives and to remind them of their greatness.
As she walked she heard crying, running over towards the source she found a child crying, being held by her mother. She approached them and frowned at them, "What is with all this crying?" The woman tried to bow with her daughter in her hands, "Princess Lian it is an honor. I apologize for my daughter's behavior but her only toy fell into the water below and we can't retrieve it."
Lian nodded and looked at the water below, "I see, well then allow me to retrieve it for you." She knew her parents wouldn't approve of her doing this for this woman but she couldn't help but feel bad for the child.
The mother tried to stop her, standing in front of her, "Princess please you don't need to do that, she will get over the loss of the toy." Lian scoffed and took off the dress she was wearing, revealing an almost wetsuit underneath, "Oh please I'm not doing this for you, I want to test a water breathing spell I learned."
Ignoring any other protest, Lian dove into the water, going down deep into the water. As she got closer to the bottom she finally found the toy, a simple doll, however she couldn't ignore what else she saw, a tiny glimmering coming from the bottom.
She swam down, reaching into the sand and pulling a small blue crystal. Finding it pretty, Lian put it into her pocket, swimming back up to the surface. She arrived back at the surface and barely acknowledged the woman as she walked back to the palace. Her mind was on the crystal as she didn't take it out of her pocket until she reached her room.
As she gazed into it she couldn't help but notice it glowed as she touched it, making it glimmer even more. She had for a few days, gazing at it whenever she could. She wasn't sure but something was telling her the tiny crystal was her destiny. She heard a knock on her door, quickly hiding it.
She got up and opened the door, finding her Mother there, "Lian please come with me to the throne room, there's a man who seems to be here to see you." Lian raised an eyebrow but didn't dare question her Mother as she followed her to the throne room.
They reached the throne room and Lian saw an older man with blonde hair and a long blonde beard. He was dressed in robes and he smiled at her, "You're Princess Lian I take it?" Lian nodded, "I was told you were here to see me Sir."
The man nodded and bowed to her, "Indeed, I am Iatnes the high sorcerer of the once great kingdom of Paxlux." Lian bowed back to him, "It is an honor to meet a survivor of Paxlux, but I have to ask why are you here for me?" Iatnes smiled, "Before he died the King Ordor gave me 5 crystals that would one day be found by the ones chosen to wield them and become powerful sorcerers destined to save the world. However I lost 3 of them and judging by that crystal that's within your pocket you found the Sorcecrystal of Water."
Lian glared at him, taking out the crystal from her pocket, "How did you know I found a crystal?" He pointed out the now glowing crystal, "Because it told me itself, you are special Lian, you have been chosen to save the world. Of course this is your choice." King Zhou crossed his arms and scoffed, "Absolutely not! Our daughter won't become some savior for the other countries, she will stay here and continue to be Agul's princess."
This was her chance, this was her opportunity to get away from her parents, 'Sir Iantes, I'll do it, I'll become one of these chosen ones!" Iatnes raised his arms in happiness, "Excellent! I'll allow you to pack and then I shall take you to where I'll be training you."
Lian nodded as she turned to her family who looked at her with disdain. Long scoffed and chuckled, "Good luck being a savior Lian, try not to screw up." She ignored him, this was her opportunity to finally escape out of her parents grasp and she was going to take it.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Present Day
It wasn't exactly comfortable on the ground as the 3 sat in the cell, waiting for something to happen. It had been awhile since any guards had come to check on them and they were starting to get bored.
Hikayasu sighed, causing Diego to look over at him, "What's wrong?" Hikayasu shrugged, "I don't know man, 13 years of stealing and I never managed to get thrown in a cell. I guess I'm just disappointed in myself." Diego frowned, "Priorities Yasu, we need to be getting out of this cell."
As he said this the door was kicked open, a guard coming flying in screaming and landing on the ground. They quickly shot up, unsure of what was happening as Maya came walking in, carrying their SorceBatton's, "You 3 look like you could use some help."
They nodded as she unlocked the door, "Maya what's going on?" Maya frowned, "We're stopping that alliance, so let's go because Finternis probably already knows I just freed you."
All of the sudden the sound of an explosion rang through the halls causing the 4 to look at each other as Hikayasu nodded at them, "Guess that's our cue to go join this battle." They all ran to the outside of the palace, seeing about 50 Agulians fighting off the Royal Guard and DunDatin's. Lee ran over to them, sword and shield in hand, "Oh good Maya you freed them, we could use a little help since not all of us are trained soldiers."
They nodded at him and each produced their SorceBatton's and placed their crystals in them, "FIRE!, AIR!, EARTH!, FOREST!" Holding out the Batton in front of them before turning it clockwise and pointing it towards the sky, "SOSHICHANGE" The 4 were encased in their respective elements before bursting out of it, getting the attention of the DunDatin's.
SorceFire chuckled and shook his head, "Why is it that everywhere we go we draw a crowd?" SorceAir shrugged, "You're just too popular, Yasu." SorceForest shook her head and slapped both of their helmets, "Focus please, we gotta protect these people then go help Lian." They nodded and the 4 charged into battle, each engaging with multiple DunDatin's.
SorceEarth not really having earth to use magic with summoned his hammer, hitting the DunDatin's into the water all the while protecting the Agulians. SorceForest had taken a similar approach since she didn't have any forest to use and instead used her size against multiple of the royal guards, maneuvering around them and taking them out with her SorceClaws.
SorceAir had a bit of an easier time, using the air around him in order to send the DunDatin flying, knocked out of the bubble around and greeting a mini tornado to send into the water to create a vortex to suck the royal guards into.
SorceFire had managed to finish most of his opponents as he narrowly avoided a ball of darkness as he saw a woman approaching him, "Oh you must be the Finternis Princess I remember them mentioning you, tell me how's your brothers face?" Nessa frowned and shot another ball of darkness at him, "The name is Nessa and you left a nasty scar but he's healed."
SorceFire chuckled as he sent a fireball at her, Nessa barely dodging it as it was too fast. She sent a whip of darkness at him but he dodged before making a small shield of fire to stop the whip, "There's something different about your magic SoreFire, it's intriguing."
She stopped attacking him as he caught his breath, allowing him to get a proper look at her, "You know you're kind of pretty, too bad you're kind of evil like the rest of your family."
Nessa frowned and shook her head, "Do not call me evil when you don't know me SorceFire, I do what I must to keep up appearances but I do not agree with what my Father is doing."
SorceFire scoffed at her, "You really expect me to believe that Princess? You wouldn't be doing this if you were telling the truth." Nessa looked at him, he couldn't deny that she didn't seem to be lying, but Iatnes would kill if he went trusting her.
Nessa sighed and nodded at him, "You're right, I hope we meet again, I feel a connection with you." With that confusing last sentence she turned around and left, he wanted to scream but he couldn't exactly disagree with her.
While he was fighting with her something felt different, his magic felt different, stronger and faster. He'd have to remember to ask Iatnes later about it, but for now they had an alliance to stop.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Lian arrived in the throne room, her parents and her brother being there. Queen Li glared at her, "Look what's happening to our beautiful kingdom because of you, you insolent little girl!"
Lian walked towards them, anger in her eyes, "ME? This is all your faults! You neglected your people in order to live comfortably in your palace and parade around like you're gods or something. The people are rebelling because they don't want you to align with a genocidal country like Finternis."
King Zhou frowned, "What happened to my beautiful and graceful daughter? You were perfect but we let you go off with that Iatnes and you come back as an insolent little girl. Are you not grateful for what we've given you in life?"
Lian shook her head, "I am grateful that because of you I have the strength to protect everyone in this world, but I will no longer be brainwashed by you or your beliefs. I am better than no one else, and I will use my so-called superior magic to save this world!"
Her Father was ready to get up and deal with her but was stopped by Long, "Allow me to deal with my rebellious older sister Father. This alliance will happen whether you like it or not Lian''
Lian began to gather water around, powerful jetstreams as she glared at her brother, "Even if it means fighting my own family, I won't let Finternis hurt anymore innocent people."
She shot the water out at Long who tried to counter with his own magic but was blasted back against the wall. Lian breathed heavily as Long struggled to get up, "You focused on physical strength brother, while I focused on my magic. YOU WILL NOT BEAT ME!"
Long withdrew his sword, aiming to attack her again but she gave him no time to, sending multiple spears of water at him, sending him back and breaking the wall, knocking him out in the process. King Zhou looked at her in horror as Queen Li went to check on her son, "I see you've made your choice then. From this day on I have no daughter."
Lian fought back tears as she heard a laugh, General Mond appearing beside King Zhou, "Oh these family spats always get my heart, you poor girl, the pain you must be going through. Don't worry though I'll put you out of your misery." Lian took out her SorceBatton and placed the crystal into it, "WATER!" She wasted no time, pointing it up, "SOSHICHANGE!"
Mond sent a massive pillar of darkness at her as she jumped out of the way, emerging as SorceWater as Mond laughed, "You cannot defeat me alone little girl, magical potential or not."
As she held out her staff she heard a voice from behind her, "She doesn't have to fight you alone!" The wall began to crumble behind her as an explosion rocked out, her 4 teammates emerging from, "The Bold Sorcerer, SORCEFIRE!"
SorceFire appeared besides her and gave her a nod, "The Intelligent Sorcerer, SORCEAIR!" SorceAir waved at her as he walked next to her, ready to fight, "The Strong Sorcerer, SORCEARTH!" SorceEarth gave her a simple nod as he rested his hammer on the ground, staring at General Mond, "The Crafty Sorcerer, SORCEFOREST!"
She put a hand on her shoulder and gave her a reaffirming nod that said we're here with you. SorceWater smiled underneath her helmet, "The Graceful Sorcerer, SORCEWATER!" The 5 posed, "The chosen ones who create magic wherever they go, SOSHI SENTAI SORCEGER!"
General Mond glared at them and shook his head, "I don't feel like dealing with this today, so how about we just skip to the fun stuff!" He snapped his fingers and the ground began to tremble, a massive hand destroying the palace roof revealing a DunSoldat.
SorceForest looked up at it, "Oh great, can SorceOh even fight underwater?" SorceFire shrugged and turned towards SorceWater, "Lian this is your turf, we'll follow your lead." She looked at him in shock, "Are you sure? I'm nothing but a spoiled princess" He shook his head, "If I've learned anything today it's that you did earn your strength, so let's go Princess we'll follow your lead."
Lian nodded and the 5 took out their Batton's and pointed them up, "SorceBeasts descend!" In a matter of moments the SorceBeasts appeared and combined, the Sorceger's appearing in the cockpit, "Complete! Soshi Gattai SorceOh!"
SorceOh had a bit of trouble swimming in the water as the DunSoldat attacked it, sending it flying to the seafloor as the Sorceger's were bounced around the cockpit. The DunSoldat attacked again, causing SorceOh to go flying again. As they stood up SorceFire groaned in pain, "We really can't keep taking much more of this, Lian please do something."
SorceWater shook her head, "I'm sorry I don't know what to do. I'm so sorry for how I've acted with all of you. I've treated you horribly and thought it didn't matter because you'd be my teammates when it counts but that makes me too much like my parents. You're all my friends and I'm sorry I've failed you."
Her crystal began to glow as the others looked at in amazement, "Lian your crystal it's reacting to your heart." SorceWater looked at it and nodded, "Then let's use it to beat this thing!" She placed her crystal in the indent of the command console, causing it to glow as a Dolphin shaped bow appeared before SorceOh, it took it in its hands as it also affected SorceOh itself, causing it grow fins on his arms and legs, "DolphinBow ready!"
With renewed resolve SorceOh began to swim around the DunSoldat, firing arrows at it as it could no longer keep up with the swimming SorceOh. Deciding enough was enough the Sorceger's placed their hands on the altar, "Final Attack: DOLPHIN SHOT!"
A massive arrow of water began to form from the bow, firing and hitting right in the heart of the DunSoldat, destroying it as SorceOh turned from the underwater explosion. They appeared back on the ground again as Lian's parents had called more guards and they soon began to surround them and the resistance.
King Zhou scoffed at them, "You've done nothing Sorceger's, Agul will be aligning with Finternis and just know Agul know considers you an enemy of this country." As they readied themselves to fight, Lee appeared, "You 5 need to go now."
SorceWater shook her head, "We aren't leaving you and I'm certainly not leaving my people." As more guards appeared Lee shook his head, "We underestimated them and we don't have enough people on our side Lian, If anyone needs to survive this it's you guys not us. Don't worry we'll meet again but for now get out here."
She said nothing as they touched the crystal's around their necks, causing them to teleport back to the Nativus Sanctuarii. They had to Finternis this day and because of that Lian had lost her home and her family.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Finternis's Throne Room
Emperor Wonkle clapped as Nessa entered into the throne room, Vulkan watching her from the side, "Welcome back my daughter, I heard from Mond you've succeeded in your mission. I knew I was right to send you."
Nessa knelt before him and nodded, "Thank you Father, though the Sorceger's tried to intervene, if anything all they did is cause the royalty of Agul to hate them more." After a brief report Nessa left the throne room.
With every step she took the self loathing in her grew, she caused that destruction, that pain. Families were broken up because of her, because she was too weak to stand up to her father.
As she got down the stairs that lead up to the throne room she couldn't contain it anymore, she dropped to her knees in tears. As she broke down, she was completely unaware that Vulkan had followed her, now watching his sister break down.

Nativus Sanctuarii
Iantes watched his students train, they were training harder than ever before as they all still felt the loss at Boshi. He put a hand up to stop them for a moment as he sighed, "I understand that all of you feel responsible for what has happened and make no mistake you all must push yourselves now to get stronger. But please do not exhaust yourselves as it will only harm you rather than help you."
As they all stopped to rest, Lian crossed her arms, "You all just better not slow me down while training, seeing as I'm already stronger than all of you." Hikayasu let out a groan before Lian started giggling, "Don't worry thief it's just a joke. I promise I'll try to not be as stuck up as I once was."
Hikayasu stood up and sighed, "You know I still think you're a stuck up princess, but you at least proved in that last battle that you have our backs." Lian glared at him and the two launched into another argument about her being stuck up. Iatnes chuckled to himself, things hadn't changed that much but at least the team is a little more unified than it was before.
