Chapter Eleven

It took Shadow ten more minutes to finish up and leave his bedroom all presentable and actually sporting a light blue t-shirt with a picture of the red chaos Emerald on the front. When he walked into the kitchen he felt eyes watching his every move but ignored that as he poured out some coffee.

"You wear actual clothes like in that what you are wearing?" Sonic asked in surprise with a hint of disappointment, he was hoping Shadow would come out with nothing on like he has been lately.

"Yeah I have a selection of t-shirts and jumpers, not too keen on wearing trousers and such, I find they restrict me from running fast." Shadow indifferently answered as he took a seat up the kitchen table with his coffee.

"Oh and thank you for the coffee." Shadow added with a small smile then took a sip.

"I never knew you liked wearing clothes, you kept that well hidden hun." Rouge said as she too was shocked to see Shadow walk in wearing a t-shirt.

"It's so I feel closer to my human family and in a strange way to feel apart of that family, like fit in with them more. I know it's silly but..." Shadow explained then was stopped from finishing as he was interrupted.

"We get it Shads and if it helps ya then do it." Sonic smiled as he spoke to Shadow.

"Yeah and if you ever need fashion advice then you can always come to me. Don't get me wrong, loving the look especially the chaos emerald but I know of some very flash stores that do a ton of males clothing for a decent price too." Rouge grinned as she was now hoping Shadow would come shopping with her so she can be involved in some fashion choices.

"Sure that would be great, I know next to nothing when it comes to fashion and just tend to buy what catchers my eye when online." Shadow grinned back as he has yet to do clothes shopping with a friend.

"Ok I now have a job to do." Sonic said with a serious tone then stood up.

He walked over to Shadow and stood behind him then took off a glove. Sonic placed the glove on the table then slowly ran his fingers through Shadow's quills. Of course Shadow couldn't see the overjoyed expressions or the light blush on Sonic's muzzle but Rouge sure could.

"Ok and what are you doing Sonic?" Rouge asked as she tried to not burst into laughter at Sonics, almost perverted, expressions.

"I-I'm feeling Shadows quills and going to rate the softness and how silky they are." Sonic half whispered as he enjoyed this moment while trying to keep his focus on what he was supposed to be doing.

"I brought new quill shampoo that says it leaves your quills silky soft. Sonic is going to be judge and tell me if it was worth spending a lot of money on that new quill shampoo." Shadow calmly explained as Rouge raised a brow in puzzlement, he trying hard to not show how much he was enjoying Sonic's soft stroking on his quills and head fur.

"Right I get it, so are they silky soft Sonic?" Rouge asked with a teasing grin at Sonic.

"Well my fingers glide through them effortlessly and I would rate the softness an eight out of ten. Although just to make sure I'll do this a few more times, don't want to give you the wrong review results huh?" Sonic said as he tried to sound calm and collect, even if he was feeling everything but that.

"Yeah fine by me, I want to know for sure." Shadow softly said as his eyes drooped half closed and he began to look very calm and relaxed.

"Oh better check the fur behind your ears too, I want to give you a full review Shads." Sonic grinned as he grew some confidence then slowly moved his fingers towards Shadow's ears.

"Hmmm." Shadow softly hummed as he received slight, behind the ear, ear scratching on both at the same time, it making him close his eyes fully and smiling in a dazed manner.

"Yep they feel very soft Shads." Sonic whispered as he lent his mouth closer to Shadows right ear.

"That's good to know." Shadow whispered back as his smile grew and he began to lean back towards the touches.

Rouge just sat there and watched the display happen right in front of her. She was smirking madly with amusement and feeling very entertained by it. Although she did have to admit to herself that she has never seen Shadow look so content and relaxed before.

"They are so made for each other." Rouge thought as she took a sip from probably her third coffee this morning.

"Want me to stop?" Sonic asked in a whispered voice in Shadow's ear as he kept up the touches to the backs of Shadows ears.

"No." Shadow mumbled softly as he was really enjoying the gentle touches too much for it to end right now.

"Just look at the two of you, such a cute couple." Rouge teased with a devious smirk and getting both hedgehogs attention.

"Oh man I forgot Rouge was here." Sonic thought as he quickly stopped and blushed at the comment.

"Rouge did you have to spoil the moment, that was really relaxing. So full verdict Sonic, was it worth the price tag?" Shadow groaned at his bat friend, not fully caring of the comment then went all sweet and innocent when asking Sonic his question.

"I'd say totally worth the money." Sonic said with a smile and cheerful tone while walking back to his seat, hoping Shadow wouldn't notice his cheeks were still on fire.

"Good then I shall keep buying it." Shadow casually said with a grin then drank some of his coffee.

"I wonder if I ask him he would scratch behind my ears again? I have no idea why but that felt really nice and it's all because Sonic was doing it. I mean I've had behind my ears scratched before, Maria used to do that occasionally, but it never felt so...so, intimate? Would that be the right word to describe it?" Shadow thought as he absentmindedly drank his drink and stared off into space, getting a little lost within his thoughts.

"I think you broke him Sonic." Rouge lent over to Sonic and whispered to him quietly while Sonic put his glove back on.

"Huh? Oh right he's all zoned out like. Maybe he enjoyed the treatment I gave him, might have to do it again soon." Sonic said as he looked over at Shadow and slowly began to grin.

"Well now that you know he likes you enough for you to touch him, you should plan your confession." Rouge whispered with a teasing quiet tone.

"Yeah I could but I still think it's a little too soon." Sonic sighed deeply while looking down at the table space in front of him.

"Well you invited him over for that boys only gaming night on Friday so confess then. It's Tuesday now so I'm sure by Friday you both would have gotten more closer." Rouge suggest with a sincere smile at Sonic.

"More closer?" Sonic lifted his head up and gave Rouge a slightly confused look back.

"Believe me when I say Shadow doesn't let just anyone touch him, see him without clothing on or tell personal matters to. He is bonding with you even if he doesn't realise it now, he will and usually that kind of bond blossoms into love. And I know all about love and sex so trust me hun." Rouge said with a wink at Sonic, having made the hedgehog blush at the word sex.

"R-right." Sonic nervously whispered then looked over at Shadow still occasionally drink his coffee and lost in his thoughts.

"He is going to be like this for at least another couple of minutes, just so you know." Rouge said as she sat straight and grabbed her mug.

As much as Sonic hoped he was the one on Shadow mind, he was, in this case, wrong. Shadow was currently wondering about his dream life and what he could be blessed with tonight. So far everything he had ever wished, hoped, for was happening and every time he found himself with Maria and Gerald he would unconsciously play the role and lose himself within his happiness and joy. It made him start to crave this and Shadow would beg for the days to move quickly forward so it was pill time therefore he can go back to his family.
