Hi everyone, this is the sequel to Retrouville. If you haven't read that yet, I highly recommend you do because I'm going to be referencing a lot of things from there. Also, if you don't want XY getting spoiled, I recommend you watch that first! This story is basically going to be a Pearlshipping XY and I have so much planned for this sequel and I'm so excited to write it! Anyways enjoy!

After saying goodbye to Dawn, Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie continued their journey. A couple of months has passed and a lot happened since they have last seen the coordinator. Serena was able to earn her third and final Princess Key which unlocked her the opportunity to compete in the Master Class Showcase where the next Kalos Queen would be determined. This is what caused the group to take a detour from going towards Ash's next gym battle in Snowbelle City.

"Alright! We're here!" exclaimed the performer.

Serena had been very eager to arrive at Gloire City, where the Master Class Showcase was going to be held.

Everyone looked around at how beautiful Gloire City was. It was a slightly mountainous area with gorgeous red and white houses. Perched at the top of the tallest hill in the city, was a marvelous castle with blue roofs. Even if the group was far away from the castle, they could see just how spectacular it is.

"Let's head to the Pokemon Center so Serena can register" said Clemont while pointing one finger in the air.

Everyone nodded in agreement. Serena searched up the directions and they were on their way.

"That's it, you're all set Serena, good luck tomorrow!"

Serena nodded and thanked Nurse Joy for all her help. She then turned around and closed her eyes. Serena took a deep breath. "It's almost time…"

"And aren't you excited?"

Serena opened her eyes and saw that her good friend and rival Shauna was standing in front of her. Suddenly, another familiar figure appeared from around the corner.

"I know I am, excited to win!"

"Miette!"

Another familiar voice could be heard. "We've all worked so collect three Princess Keys, so may the best performer win!"

"Nini!"

All of Serena's rivals were standing in front of her. This excited Serena even more. All these people had worked so hard to get to where they were, but they weren't the only ones. Serena wasn't the same girl who's Fennekin tripped on stage.

Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie went to see what was taking their friend so long. They then saw all those familiar faces and started to greet them all.

After meeting up with everyone again, they caught up a little but after a while, they decided to head their own ways so everyone could get some last-minute training in.

Serena and the gang decided to go back to a little clearing they had found on their way to Gloire City. It was a perfect place for Serena to do some finishing touches.

"Braxien, use flamethrower!"

The flamethrower collided with the stone edge created earlier from Pancham which resulted in a beautiful outburst of orange sparkles.

The Pokemon was breathing really heavily, indicating how hard they had been working. Serena noticed this and motioned her team in.

"Everyone, tomorrow is the big day!"

The Pokemon nodded with determination.

"We have worked so hard for this and I'm so proud of each and every one of you!"

Everyone smiled back at her.

"Now, let's show everyone how much we have improved"

Serena put her hand in and all of her Pokemon repeated the action. They then threw their hands/paws into the air to celebrate.

"Serena! It's getting late, let's head back to the Pokemon Center!" yelled Clemont.

Serena stood up to face the voice.

"Okay, we're coming!"

With that, the performer and her team walked back to meet up with the rest of her friends.

Back at the Pokemon Center, Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie had just finished dinner and were off on their own. Ash was probably training, Clemont was probably inventing, and Bonnie was probably playing with Squishy and Dedenne. Serena on the other hand was on the phone with her mom.

"It starts tomorrow at noon? I'll be there as soon as I can"

Serena smiled. "You don't have to make the long journey to watch me"

"I want to sweetie, I wouldn't miss this for the world"

"I'm a little nervous". Serena put her hand where her triangle necklace and ribbon overlapped. "I hope I don't mess up"

Her mom smiled. "Being nervous is normal. I know I was always super nervous before my race. But that is when you need to tell yourself to just go for it!"

Serena looked down at the thought of Rhyhorn races. "Hey mom, at first, I had only set off on my journey because I didn't want to become a Rhyhorn racer" She then clutched the necklace and ribbon and perked up. "But, I've had such a great time! I've met some of the most wonderful people and Pokemon that always support me!"

"Serena…"

"Tomorrow, I'm going to give it my all for them and you Mom!"

Serena's mom couldn't help but be proud of her daughter. She smiled and replied, "I can't wait to watch, I'll see you soon!"

"Bye Mom!"

With that, Serena ended the call and let out a big deep breath. She then walked over to one of the nearby couches and sat down.

Serena couldn't help but be super nervous. Even though in her call with there mom she seemed super confident, she was actually drowning in nerves. There were so many people who had supported her and given up so much for her to even be here right now. She didn't want to let them down.

After a couple minutes of being consumed with her thoughts, Serena looked up. She looked threw her bag and pulled out a letter. It was a letter from Dawn that she received a couple of weeks ago after she had won her third and final Princess Key.

Serena,

I just watched the Showcase on TV and you were amazing! The way that you and your Pokemon danced together in the second round was so fun and incredible to watch! You deserved that win! Be sure to kick some butt in the Master Class Showcase! You know I'll be watching and supporting you all the way!

Remember, believe in your Pokemon and you can accomplish great things!

Love, Dawn

P.S. Tell Ash to stop asking me if everything is okay. I'm fine, no need to worry!

She and Dawn had been writing letters to each other every once in a while. Ash would stick in his letter alongside Serena's envelope. She had wished that Dawn could be here to watch her perform. Not only was it nice to have someone with lots of experience to help her train, but she and Dawn were close friends.

"I see you still have my letter"

Serena looked up and saw who stood before her. She immediately ran up and gave her a big hug.

"Dawn! You're here!"

Dawn smiled and returned the hug. "I wouldn't miss this for the world"

Serena broke apart the hug, "But wait, what about Pokechic and Hermione?"

"Well you see…" Dawn grabbed her bag and pulled out a magazine"I worked my butt off the past couple of months so I could finish this as soon as I could so I could come here to watch you perform!"

Serena grabbed the newest copy of the Pokechic magazine. Dawn and her Lopunny were on the front and looked gorgeous. She then looked back at the coordinator and gave her a quick squeeze.

"I'm so happy to see you! I bet the others are too! Let's go find them, I'm sure they can't be far!"

Serena grabbed Dawn's hand and began to pull her out the doors of the Pokemon Center.

Serena and Dawn first saw Bonnie, playing at the fountain which was right outside the Pokemon Center. Serena and Dawn looked at each other and came up with a plan. Then, Dawn and Piplup went to hide behind a bush that was nearby.

"Bonnie! Can you come here for a second?"

Bonnie looked up. "Coming!" She put Squishy and Dedenne back into her bag and skipped over to Serena. "What's up?"

"I think I dropped something in that bush, I can't reach it though because I'm too big, could you possibly get it?"

Bonnie smiled."No problem!"

Bonnie then headed for the bush, not knowing who was hiding it in.

"Boo!"

"Pip!"

"AHHHHHH" Bonnie jumped back and closed her eyes.

"It's nice to see you Bonnie!"

"Piplup-Pip!"

Bonnie then opened eyes as she immediately recognized who's voice that belonged to.

"Dawn! Piplup!" She ran up to the duo and gave them each a hug.

After that, the trio went off to find their next victim.

They searched around the perimeter of the Pokemon Center when the stubbled across a Chespin sitting by a large machine that was being worked on by a person.

"There's Clemont!" whispered Bonnie.

"Okay, listen up!' said Dawn as she told the other two girls her plan.

Once she finished explaining, Dawn ran off to the inside of the Pokemon Center while Serena and Bonnie went up to the inventor.

"Hey Clemont?" Serena said in a worried tone.

Clemont turned around. "Yeah, what's wrong?"

"Serena lost her brush and can't find it anywhere!"

"That's terrible! I'll find you it!" declared Clemont.

The girls smiled. It was all going according to plan.

"I think I last saw it in the Pokemon Center!" said Serena.

Clemont jumped up. "I'll go have a look!" He then stormed off, determined to his Serena's beloved watch.

The two girls looked at each other and once Clemont was gone, they laughed.

"Come on! We don't want to miss his reaction!"

Then, the duo ran quickly towards the inside of the Pokemon Center.

"Hmmm, it's not there either"

"Did you find it Big Brother?" asked Bonnie

"Not yet" Clemont said as he turned his back to look under a table.

Dawn then showed up, holding the brush. "Is this what you're looking for?" She said as she held the brush under the table. She stood off to the side so Clemont couldn't recognize her footwear.

"Yes that's it!" Clemont started to get out from under the table as he said "Thank yo- Dawn!"

"Surprise! It's so nice to see you again" Dawn smiled as she waved hello.

"Piplup!" Said the Penguin Pokemon who mimicked his trainer's actions

Clemont waved back. "It's great to see you too! But what are you doing here?"

Dawn giggled. "How could I not come and support Serena in the Master Class Showcase?"

Clemont smiled. He was really happy to see the coordinator again.

"Let's hurry, I want to find Ash as soon as possible!" exclaimed Dawn.

With that, Clemont told the girls that Ash had gone back to the clearing they were in earlier so he could get some training done. The group then headed there.

When Dawn, Serena, Bonnie, and Clemont arrived, they immediately saw Ash but his back was turned to them to he couldn't see them.

This time, Dawn wanted to surprise him on her own. She told everyone to wait there for her as she slowly walked up to the boy.

Of course, Ash was too focused on his Pokemon to notice, but his yellow partner wasn't. He turned around and Dawn quickly signaled to him to stay quiet. Pikachu then realized what Dawn was planning and begun to pretend like he didn't see the coordinator prematurely.

"Hawlucha! Use Karate Chop on those boulders!"

Ash suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked to the side and saw that no one was there. He looked to the other side and saw no one again.

"Who's there?"

There stood Dawn, she had the smile that Ash loved so much on her face.

"Dawn!"

Pikachu jumped off of his best friend's shoulder to greet one of his closest (and most prideful) friends.

Ash immediately ran up to her and gave her a big hug. Dawn hugged him back.

"You have no idea how worried I've been, I've missed you so much"

Dawn smiled.

"I missed you too and I told you there's no need to worry. I'm right here"

The two hugged for a couple of seconds longer until they broke apart. By then, the rest of the gang caught up to them.

Bonnie was telling Clemont and Ash all about how Dawn scared her. She made it sound a lot more dramatic than it was. Apparently, Dawn used a fake Serviper to scare her.

While Bonnie was explaining her story, Ash's stomach let out a loud roar. He starched the back of his head in embarrassment. "I guess I'm hungry!"

Dawn giggled. "I'm glad to see you're still the same Ash! Let's go back to the Pokemon Center and have dinner, then you guys can tell me all about the crazy adventures you've had since the last time I saw you!"

Everyone nodded in agreement.

"So Greninja and you become one?"

"Yeah something like that…"

Dawn giggled. "Wow Ash, only that crazy stuff happens to you!"

The group had just finished telling Dawn about everything. From Eevee evolving into a Sylveon to the whole Ash and Greninja coming together during battle.

"Dawn! We also added a new member to the group" Bonnie pulled out the little green Pokemon. "This is Squishy! Dawn, meet Squishy, Squishy meet Dawn"

Dawn was in awe, she had never seen a Pokemon like this. "It's nice to meet you Squishy! I'm sure you've been having a great time with Bonnie and everyone else"

Squishy let out an agreeing sigh.

It was beginning to get late. Then sunset was at least 2 hours ago and the young heroes needed their sleep as they had an important day tomorrow.

Serena had trouble falling asleep. She was in and out of her slumber and tossing and turning all about. She decided that she needed from fresh air and headed out towards the balcony. There, she looked onto the peaceful city.

"Can't sleep?"

It was Dawn. She leaned against the railing right next to Serena.

"I'm just really nervous about tomorrow, what if I mess up?"

"What if you win it all?"

Dawn paused. "Stop focusing on what could go wrong. You and your Pokemon have worked so hard for this. I know you guys will be amazing tomorrow"

Serena smiled. "Thanks, Dawn"

"Just remember…"

"As long as you and your Pokemon believe in one and another, anything is possible" The two said in unison. They laughed. Then, Dawn started to walk away.

"You should get some rest, you have a big day ahead!"

Serena nodded. "Right!"

The two then went into their own separate beds. Dawn went right to sleep. Serena looked up towards the ceiling.

Let's make my dream come true tomorrow!

With that, she closed her eyes and went to sleep peacefully.

I promise that the rest of the chapters will be longer than this. I just needed to set up Serena's last showcase while also having Dawn return. This part in the anime was super short so I couldn't draw inspiration from there. I am so beyond excited to write this sequel. Ever since I came up with the idea, I have been brainstorming how to write so many different scenes. I would love to hear your ideas too! Anyways I hope you enjoyed, stay safe!
