They rode their steeds into the dense foliage. Every inch took them closer and closer to the place where the memorial shall stand... Skull Rock.

"Halt!"

Maurice and the others slowed to a full stop. Ursus approached Ceasar's right side as Maurice approached Ceasar's left.

"This is it?"

"This is it."

Ceasar thought deeply about his father, and what an impact he had made for his kind and for the world around him. He knew that his father's legacy would live on, once this was built.

"We shall begin construction now." Ceasar cheered, which made the other apes cheer as well... except for one.

"Now?" the voice came from inside the crowd. A female's voice to be exact. Zira rode to the front, facing Ceasar and his steed.

"Do you oppose it?" Ceasar asked.

"Yes. You may not know it, but some of us are tired, and hungry. And we wish to set up camp."

"Very well. We shall set up camp here, and work on the memorial in the morning."

And with that, Ceasar strode past the female, nodding his head to assure her that she made the right decision.

"Thank you." said Zira, a small smile plastered on her face.

That night Ceasar walked up to Maurice's tent.

"Maurice? You still awake?" asked Ceasar peeking into the entrance.

"Yes." answered Maurice, sitting up from where he lay "I'm a little bit worried about Nova."

"I'm sure she's fine. You told her to stay on the boat."

"True... but... it's been so long since I've been away from her." Maurice stood up and began pacing "And the dangers that live on this island, I just..."

Maurice paused as Ceasar lifted his right hand.

"It's alright. I give you permission to go back. Just be careful. I'd hate to lose you."

Maurice nodded and thanked Ceasar. He headed out of the tent with a gun and a knife and hopped onto the back of one of the horses. As he did so Ursus and Aldo watched from afar.

"I wonder where he's going." growled Ursus curiously.

"Follow him." Dr. Zaius whispered from behind the two guards.

"Doctor? That you?" Aldo asked.

"Go get Marcus. Follow him." Zaius repeats.

Ursus and Aldo stare at Zaius, unsure of why he's giving the order to follow Maurice, but they do so anyways, as Zaius fixes his eyes on Ceasar as he heads back to his tent.

In Maurice's cabin on the ship, Nova sits on a chair drawing her pictures. She gets startled by a loud roar from the outside. She goes to the window to see a gigantic beast exiting the water. She watches as it plows through the trees, scaring the winged creatures out of their nests. With wide eyes she opens the hatch and climbs to the outside. She follows after the beast, making sure she doesn't get caught.

Sorry for the really late update. I was planning on making this chapter a little bit longer, but I decided to save some stuff for the next chapter. This way there can be a little more suspense.
