Story: You need to calm down

Pairing: Micro-Ice & Sinedd

Okay, you got lucky with this one. It was mostly written and simply needed some editing. Things will get a bit more spicier in the next chapters.

After three weeks of taking it easy and being babysit by his team all the time, Micro-Ice was fed up. He needed to go outside, strength his legs, breath some fresh air and most important of all: be left alone. He assured Dame Simbai that she didn't have to keep him company while everyone else was training that day and once everyone was in the training room, the injured player bolted for the hotel exit. He dodged security and the main desk and found some backdoor he slipped through unseen. Naturally he couldn't go far, he was still injured and even this short walk was already making his injured foot throb. So, he decided to go to Geonisis forest and relax there. It didn't have any of the beauty of Akillian, but it would have to do. If Micro-Ice was honest, nothing came close to the beauty of his home planet and he longed to go home again.

Three weeks of constant babysitting also meant he hadn't seen or hard from Sinedd since the day he got injured. He thought he would be happy with the distance. Doesn't distance make the heart forget? Micro-Ice was loathed to admit it made his heart grow fonder.

He had two hours of peace and quiet until he was interrupted by his object of delightful torment. The striker was wearing his usual attire, but his hair was a little tussled, probably from just being washed. The usual look of loathing and superiority was gone from his face. It was the first time Micro-Ice thought to himself that the boy was handsome as hell.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was bored, needed to get some fresh air." Micro-Ice answered and turned his head back to the scenery in front of him.

"How did you get here? You are supposed to let your foot rest." Sinedd reminded him and Micro-Ice didn't like the concerned tone he heard in the boy's voice. He doesn't need him of all people to look after him. The younger boy simply lifted one his crutches as a way of answering Sinedd's question.

"That's not letting your foot rest." Sinedd said and laid his hand on the other boy's shoulder to sit down in the grass next to him. The way his fingers tightly grabbed him and lingered when he was sitting down reminded Micro-Ice of how lonely Sinedd probably had been these last couple of weeks. Sure, Mei kept him company and sometimes even Tran and Rocket, but he knew that the older boy simply tolerated them. It wasn't like it was between them. For once the boy didn't mind his company. He really was bored and kind of tired of his friends. They meant well but they weren't very good at hiding the fact they'd rather do something else then babysit him all the time. Only Thran didn't mind, but then again Micro-Ice was bored with constantly playing video games with him.

"How was practice?" Micro-Ice asked uncomfortable. It was weird, they never did small talk. Not even in that bar where it all started. They usually just dished on their teammates, but Micro-Ice didn't want to talk about them at the moment.

"Cardio and drill exercises, so nothing interesting," Sinedd sighed and laid back with his arms behind his head Micro-Ice made the mistake of looking at him because his eyes got transfixed by the thine line of naked skin that was visible thanks to Sinedd's shirt rising up. The other boy didn't seem to notice and so Micro-Ice let his eyes take in the sight.

"What have you been up to all day?"

The younger boy needed to clear his voice before answering and looked back at the scene in front of him, but alas it wasn't as enticing as what he had just been looking at: "I left the minute you guy's started practice. Didn't feel like being babysit again all day."

"Won't they be looking for you?" Sinedd asked and Micro-Ice felt his hand pull at the back of his jacket. He could practically hear Sinedd whisper the words 'stop fighting back' in his ear as he let the boy pull him down next to him. He didn't stop talking for it felt easier to ignore Sinedd's actions when he could pretend he didn't notice them. The other boy pulled his hand back once Micro-Ice laid down but his fingers still managed to find his and lock two fingers around his. The younger boy wanted to pull away, but he didn't. They stayed like that for a while: Micro-Ice talking about nothing, while Sinedd held on to his hand and they both looked up at the fake sky the forest provided in this area.

"Got any plans for the evening?" Sinedd asked once Micro-Ice felt quiet. He knew the boy was uncomfortable, but he figured he simply needed time to adjust to their new situation. Sinedd wasn't thrilled about it either. Never in a million years had he envisioned himself to be in a sort of relationship with Micro-Ice of all people. Had he known he was into men, maybe Rocket but not the shrimp he liked to pick on almost all his life.

Micro-Ice wanted to respond to Sinedd's question with 'yes and they don't involve you', but then he realized that Sinedd's reaching out at the moment was a sign he was starving again. And Micro-Ice absolutely hated knowing that. It was not his job to make up for whatever he had lost in his life or fill the void that was probably left by his missing parents. But he couldn't bring himself to say anything crude and just shook his head.

"There's a new movie playing in the theaters that I'm going to see later." It was an open invitation. Micro-Ice could easily come up with some excuse or simply say he wasn't interested and he was convinced that Sinedd would let it go. But he made the mistake of looking the older boy in the eye and seeing hope in those dark orbs. Hope, but also fear for rejection.

"If you want to see it, it's probably shit, with your bad taste," was all Micro-Ice could come up with. It wasn't a no, but it also wasn't a yes and that annoyed Sinedd. He didn't want to hear a no from the younger boy, but he could accept that. But vague answers were something he absolutely hated. He couldn't keep it out of his voice when he spoke: "Yeah, just look at the company I keep finding myself in."

Micro-Ice laughed at that comment. In fact, he rolled on his side from laughing and had to wipe his eyes: "Hmm touché."

"So, are you going to come?" Sinedd asked again, hopeful that comment had put Micro-Ice in a more accepting mood. He felt his heart skip a beat when the younger boy accepted his offer, but insisted on Sinedd paying. He had to concentrate really hard to keep his face straight as Micro-Ice looked at him.

They argued about who was paying and Sinedd thought it was weird that the younger boy would let him pay for him. He'd thought Micro-Ice would find that to domestic or something that was a clear sign of them…dating. Urgh, even Sinedd felt uncomfortable saying the word. Micro-Ice kept his reasons about needing his own money to himself. Only D'jok and Mei knew about the loan sharks and the debts he was still paying of for his mother. His deadbeat father had left them in a real pickle when he ran away. He'd had been an addicted gambler and because they barely had any money his mother had to take loans, that ended up being more trouble than what it was worth.

"Fine, next time it's on you."

Micro-Ice laughed and stated that wouldn't happen. Sinedd decided to let the subject go and he helped the younger boy to his feet.

They didn't see much of the movie. Micro-Ice wondered if Sinedd suggested the movies because it provided a dark space where they could disappear into a dark corner. Sinedd had the nerve to lay his arm behind him on his seat after ten minutes. Five minutes later Micro-Ice realized that he wasn't interested in the movie at all and crawled in Sinedd's lap, who was apparently expecting this move, because he greedily pulled the smaller boy closer. Their lips met and the movie was forgotten. Micro-Ice his popcorn fell on the ground while he pushed Sinedd's jacket over his shoulder, in search for the patch of skin he saw earlier. The older boy didn't mind the others wondering hands and lifted Micro-Ice so he could straddle his own hips. During the rest of the movie Micro-Ice's hands took in every inch of Sinedd's torso, while their lips kept meeting. Afterwards they both looked very flushed, with tussled hair and disheveled clothes. They both had to laugh about their appearance.

"So now what?" Sinedd asked as they made their way out of the movie theater. He dreaded going back to the hotel and having to go their separate ways, but he had already suggested the movies so it was up to Micro-Ice to make the next move.

"Well, I couldn't eat my popcorn because of you, so you owe me dinner." Micro-Ice stated in a far too casual tone that made Sinedd wonder if he heard the boy correctly: "I wasn't the one who started it."

"Dinner is still on you."

Sinedd thought it was weird that Micro-Ice made him pay for everything, but he learned later why that was. It took him a long time to find a way to ask Mei about the topic without her asking questions afterwards. Since then, he automatically paid for stuff when they went out.
