Chapter 15
"Hey", Merida heard as she sat at the table eating dinner. She looked up and her eyes widened as she saw Hiccup sit across from her.
"Uh- h- hey", she stammered, looking at him with curiousity.
"Is it alright if I sit here?" he smile softly at her.
"Of course", she nodded," So uh- how are you?"
"I'm good", he smiled at her," I have just been getting ahead on school work and practicing my bass. You?"
"Uh, pretty much the same", Merida shrugged.
"You've been practicing playing your bass?" Hiccup raised an eyebrow and laughed.
"Wha-? No!" Merida laughed," You know what I mean! I've been practicing my drums!"
Hiccup laughed along with her and the two smiled at each other.
"I've missed you", she smiled at him.
"I've missed you too", he smirked at her.
"Well, well" they heard heard and saw Rapunzel approaching them," What have we here?"
"Hiccup is sitting with us today", Merida smiled at Hiccup.
"Really?" Rapunzel smiled and Hiccup nodded.
"Yay!" Rapunzel threw her arms around Hiccup and he hugged her back," I'm so happy you're back!"
"Yeah, I missed you guys too!" Hiccup hugged Rapunzel back and smiled at Merida. Merida blushed, smiling, and looked down at her plate. Rapunzel let go of Hiccup and settled in her seat with a smile.
"I'm so happy now", she bounced in her seat," Hiccup's back, the dating life is going good, and-"
"Wait, your dating life?" Hiccup smiled at her," Who are you dating?"
"I uh-", Rapunzel panicked and looked over at Merida who looked at her with wide eyes.
"I'm uh- dating a guy now", Rapunzel smiled weakly at him.
"I gathered that", Hiccup laughed," I meant who are you dating?"
"You wouldn't know him", Rapunzel shrugged casually.
"Yeah right, I know tons of people. C'mon, who is the guy?" Hiccup edged on.
"Good evening students!" Dean Black bellowed out and saved Rapunzel from further questioning.
"You're parents will be arriving shortly and will meet you in your dorms", he smiled at them as he heard several groans," Now, now... We go through this every year. You should be used to it by now. Now, enjoy your breakfast and have fun with your day!"
"Ugh, I so don't want my father coming here", Merida ran her hands down her face.
"You're telling me" Rapunzel leaned on her chin. She looked up at the teachers table for the first time that morning and smirked as Jack looked like he was about to be sick. He caught her eye and she saw he gestured to leave.
"I uh- will see you guys in class", Rapunzel stood up to leave.
"Where are you going?" Hiccup asked her," You didn't even eat yet."
"I have to go grab this paper I wrote for a class before it starts. I'll see you later", she waved at him," See ya, Merida."
"Good luck", Merida scoffed and Rapunzel shot daggers at her.
Rapunzel walked out of the dining hall swiftly and walked towards Jack's classroom.
"Come here you", she felt an hand grab her arm and pull her into a dark classroom.
"Well hello", Rapunzel giggled.
"Hi", he smiled down at her, before grabbing her face between his hands and kissing her deeply.
"I could never get tired of kissing you", he pulled away smiling.
"And I could never get tired of loving you", she smiled when he beamed at her.
"So how are you?" she asked cautiously.
"I'm a nervous wreck to be honest", he admitted and ran a hand through his hair," I'm nervous as hell Punz."
"You'll do fine", she smiled at him," Don't worry."
"I am", he frowned at her," What if your parents figure it out?"
"How are they going to figure it out?" Rapunzel rolled her eyes.
"I don't know, they're bound to pick up on something", he crossed his arms and leaned against the desk behind him.
"Jack, you need to relax", Rapunzel walked towards him and wound her arms around his slim waist," They aren't going to figure anything out. I promise."
"Alright", he nodded," I'm kinda bummed though."
"Why?"
"Because I wish I could introduce myself to them as your boyfriend", he frowned deeply.
"Aw Jack", she hugged him tightly and he hugged her back," After school. I promise."
"Yeah, and how's that gonna look?" he chuckled darkly," Oh hey, during the school year we had a crush on each other, but now she's graduated I can finally be with her?"
Rapunzel looked up at him and smirked," Not quite like that, but something along those lines. They won't care. As long as I'm happy. It's you and me against the world."
"Forever", he smiled at her before capturing her lips in his again.
"Darling!" Rapunzel cringed at her mothers squealing before turning to her and smiling, letting her mother wrap her into a hug.
"Hi mom", Rapunzel gave a small hug back.
"You look great!" Rapunzel's mom smiled.
"Let me at my baby girl!" Rapunzel smiled and hugged her father as he too captured her in a bear hug.
"How has school been?" Rapunzel's mother asked her when her father let go.
"It's been great", Rapunzel assured her," Everything is going great.
"Cheering?"
"Great."
"Classes?"
"Also great."
"Merida and Hiccup?"
"Great"
Her mother smiled," Well it all sounds great, dear. We sure miss you at home!"
"I miss you guys too", Rapunzel smiled at them. She really did miss them. They were great parents. She could talk to them about anything and she knew they prided themselves on having an open relationship with her and they trusted her. It made her feel slightly guilty for dating Jack behind their backs.
"Well let's go meet your teachers and catch up with your friends", her father smiled at her. Rapunzel rolled her shoulders and cracked her neck as she prepared herself for the oncoming night. She could do this.
"Mr. and Mrs. Corona!" Merida smiled at Rapunzel's parents as the trio approched her in the dining hall. The dining hall had been cleared out of the tables the students usually sat at and instead there was soft music playing, teachers floating around, parents catching up, and students milling around wanting to either kill themselves or their parents.
"Merida! So great to see you!" her mother hugged Merida tightly," You've grown so much! Where is your mother? I must catch up with her!"
"She's over there", Merida pointed to the open bar that plenty of parents were taking advantage of.
"She is exactly where I want to be", her mother winked at them and stalked off towards Mrs. Dunbroch.
"Merida, where is that father of yours?" her father stepped up.
"Talking to Hiccup's dad", Merida gestured to the two burly men in deep conversation.
"Stoick's here!" her father smiled," I haven't seen that man in ages! Stoick!"
Rapunzel watched her father walk away and covered her face in shame," God, could they be anymore embarassing?"
"At least they aren't hanging around", Merida shrugged," So have you run into Frost yet?"
"No", Rapunzel smiled," I think he's hiding."
"Who's hiding?" Rapunzel heard from behind her. She didn't need to turn around to know it was him. She could feel him a mile away.
"Apparently nobody Professor Overland", she smiled coyly at him," And how are you this evening?"
"I'm good, I feel good", he straightened his suit jacket. Rapunzel's mouth watered as she looked over him. He was wearing a black dress shirt, black suit jacket that fitted him tightly, and black dress pants with his black converse. His white hair was unkept and it made his features look even more striking.
"Why don't you take a picture?" he smirked at her.
"I would if I could", she murmered.
"Well don't you two look great together", Merida snickered. Jack paled and looked over at Rapunzel. He didn't realize Merida was there.
"Uh Miss Dubroch", Jack's voice drenched in worry," I didn't see you there."
"Calm down Frosty, I know all about you two", she rolled her eyes.
"You- you do", he looked at her and then at Rapunzel," You told her?"
"I figured it out", she shrugged, saving Rapunzel from being yelled at by Jack. Rapunzel knew Merida would never rat them out, but she knew Jack didn't know Merida and he didn't trust her as much.
"How did you figure it out?" he looked at her with question.
"It's not hard. Rapunzel kept staying out late and often overnight and then the next morning you two were practically giggling school girls", Merida laughed at the facial expression on Jack's face.
"See? See?" he hissed at Rapunzel," If she can figure it out, so can your parents?"
"Woah, Frosty-"
"Stop calling me that", Jack rolled his eyes.
"No", Merida went on," Like I was saying, the only reason why I figured it out, is because I'm here roommate. She is out all the time. Her parents are here for literally an hour before Mrs. Corona gets trashed and Mr. Corona has to drag her ass back to their hotel before they leave bright and early tomorrow morning."
"It's weird how you know them so well", Rapunzel muttered.
"So in regards to them figuring you two out", Merida ignored Rapunzel," You two are safe. I'd be willing to bet my life, no! Rapunzel's life on it!"
"Gee thanks" Rapunzel sneered at her friend.
"No problem", Merida smiled smugly at her," Now if you two will excuse me, my brothers are trying to sneak sweets."
They watched Merida make a beeline to three small red haired boys running past people.
"Is it bad that I am years older than her and she kind of intimidates me?" Jack asked Rapunzel, while watching Merida chase her brothers.
"No", Rapunzel shook her head," I'd be surprised if you weren't."
"So about your parents-" Jack started.
"Rapunzel! There you are!" Rapunzel cringed as she heard her mother screech her name. Jack laughed softly.
"Yes, here I am", Rapunzel smiled at her mother," I see you found the bar."
"Oh shush, I've only had a wine or two... Or four", her mother smiled at her.
"How classy", Rapunzel rolled her eyes," Mum, may I introduce you to my hemistry teacher Mr. Overland."
Her mother looked over at the her blonde, young Professor and her eyes glazed over.
"Well helloooo", her mother extended her hand to her," I'm Mrs. Corona, Rapunzel's mother."
"A pleasure", he took her hand and shook it firmly," It is so great to meet you. Rapunzel is an excellent student. You should be very proud to have such a talented, bright daughter."
"Oh I am", her mother carassed the side of Rapunzel's face," She's a darling girl. Has always succeeded at everything."
"Are we boasting about our daughter?" her father walked over.
"Yes darling", Mrs. Corona smiled at her husband," This is her chemistry teacher Professor Overland."
"It's nice to meet you", Mr. Corona extended his hand.
"You as well Sir", Jack met his hand and shook it.
"Good grip", her father smiled," You can tell a lot about a man by the way he shakes."
"Thank you, sir", Jack beamed. Rapunzel knew it was great for him to hear this from her father. She knew Jack was seeking his approval.
"If you don't mind me saying Jack, you look rather young", Mr. Corona commented.
"No, it's fine. I am", Jack smiled at him," I am 23."
"23 and already a Professor?" Mr. Corona smiled widely at him," That is quite admirable. Rapunzel, you would do well to look up to him."
"I already do. He's like a foot taller than me", Rapunzel crossed her arms and looked away.
"I am not a foot taller than you", Jack laughed at her.
"He's also the coach for the lacrosse team", Rapunzel grabbed about him and accidently placed her hand on his forearm before snatching it away. She couldn't help but be proud that he was hers and she wanted to show him off to the world.
"Really? Did you play?" Mr. Corona asked.
"I do a little", Jack shrugged.
"Don't be modest", Rapunzel scolded him," He's really good. He almost went pro."
"Oh? What held you back?" Mr. Corona crossed his arms.
"In all honesty there were just complications, and I also love being a teacher. It's opened so many doors for me", Jack smiled and briefly glanced at Rapunzel.
"An honest man who works hard and like sports", Mr. Corona smiled at him," And you clearly have made an impression on my daughter as teacher. Too bad you're a teacher or else I would have my wife play match maker."
"Dad", Rapunzel looked at her father with wide eyes.
"Well it's true. He's a good lad", Mr. Corona smiled at Jack.
"And handsome too", her mother pitched.
"And that's my cue that she's ready to retire for the evening", her father walked behind her mother and let her lean into him," Jack, it was a pleasure to meet you. I hope to see more of you. Rapunzel have a good night, and we are so proud of you. We will call tomorrow before we leave."
"Okay, I love you daddy and mum", she hugged them tightly and watched them walk away. Rapunzel smiled as she watched her parents walk away.
"See?" she smiled, turning to Jack," Everything went fine. They love you!"
"We need to go. Meet me in my room in 10 minutes", Jack told her and stalked out of them room. She smiled and practically ran there in records time. She burst through his bedroom door and locked it behind her.
"About time", he picked her up by her thighs and ravished her.
So there it was. Hope you enjoyed and stay tuned!
