Harry Potter the Eternal Maji
Chapter 2- Return of the one-armed WizardPoppy Pomfrey gave a deep sigh of exasperation due to constant questions that she was receiving from the headmaster regarding when her young charge would next be available to talk to and to monitor said ward to see how he was handling the fact that he had killed two dragons both of which were known, wizard killers, the lesser-known information about how he had forced his magical core to grow and mutate due to having two different draconic magical essence running through his core. It had only been a week since he had left to go with his guardians to try and recuperate and come to terms with everything. He has gone through already in the short amount of time he had been back to the school. She roused from her thoughts when a loud bang went off from her office; she glanced down at her watch and saw that it was time for her favourite patient to return to her care.
The kind yet strict healer quickly made her way to her office only to discover a tall well-toned young man with messy raven black hair styled into a swept-back undercut. His eyes were soul-piercing emerald, green; a stylish pair of glasses framed them. She could make out a pattern reminiscent of dragon scales engraved upon the arms of the glasses. The nurse was glad to see that the teenager had replaced his old pair of glasses, a horrible round style and ancient from the state the old pair of glasses appeared to be. She noticed that he was wearing multi-pocketed black military trousers, shin-high brown leather boots, and a white lace-up shirt covered by a light brown leather jacket. The jacket had faded patterns dancing across its back and arms in the flickering light from the candles in her office. The teenager just shot her a warm smile and waved at her with his right hand. She was completely and utterly surprised when he waved at her with his right hand as she knew that a dragon had torn it off just over a month ago, her brain slowly rebooted. Hang on one moment, how is it he now has a right arm once again were the lines of thought running through her mind.
"Harry, as glad as I am to see you back looking healthier and happier than you were a month ago, but how is it you now have a right arm? I know that it was torn off in your fight with the Peruvian Vipertooth by you casting a powerful cutting spell to free yourself from its grasp." The grey-haired nurse states as she leads him out of her office and back to the bed that he had already spent a portion of this year in. "Well, my dear Madam Pomfrey. During my time in the magically induced coma, I had the opportunity to meet the greatest minds to grace both the muggle and magical realms. It turned out that magic itself had decided that I would be these four gentlemen's magical heir. These four entities introduced themselves as Leonardo Da Vinci, William Shakespeare, Jon Dee, and Nikola Tesla. They each trained me in their specific skills sets and their unique outlooks on magic. Nikola and Leonardo oversaw me whilst I designed new magical inventions, where I developed my new arm's design. However, when I returned to the material plane, I had to redesign everything I created in the mindscape. Thankfully, with Padfoot and Moony's help, we gathered all of the necessary materials that I required to construct this arm. Oh, yes, I have been working on learning to control my new draconic magics along with the increase in power that goes into my ordinary spell work." The teenager said as he took off the leather jacket so the school nurse could examine his handiwork in creating his new prosthetic arm.
The nurse looked over the teenager's new arm and saw that it consists solely of an interwoven silver and bronze-coloured metals and carved to resemble scales. "I am glad to hear that you have been practising your magic and have developed this amazingly intricate prosthetic. I hope you have not been overdoing it as I do not want you back in here for at least two to three weeks. Do you hear me young man?" The nurse said sternly but with pride interlaced into her words. Suddenly, there was a soft knock on the hospital wing's doors; it slowly opened as a set of two identical heads peered in. "Is it ok if we come in. you mentioned to us that Harry would be returning today." Asked one of the black-haired and well-tanned teenaged girls with a red and gold coloured tie around her neck. She gasped when she saw the nurse tending and talking to a strange young man; the nurse looked up from the man and turned around to see the two girls. "Yes, it is ok for you both to come in, Messrs Patil. I do have to say that you will not be waiting, though, as this young man is the very one you want to see." She said with a slight chuckle when the twins gasped and blushed as they looked over the new and improved body of the boy who lived.
"Harry, is that truly you? Wait, is that an arm? I have so many questions to ask you, but they can wait for now." Exclaimed the more inquisitive of the twins. "Ok, to answer those questions in order then, yes, it is indeed me, Padma. I have successfully created a prosthetic arm out of a mixture of goblin wrought silver and bronze. I shall happily explain in detail at a later stage, my dear Padma, as all I want to do is to enjoy your company, but what have I missed in the ever-changing realm of the Hogwarts rumour mill Parvati?" The emerald-eyed teenager gently said as the two twins walked over to his bed and sat on either side of him.
"Well, the main thing that you have missed is your so-called friends. Ronald is still running his mouth about how you cheated to get into the tournament and how it has to be dark magic. He is using the fact that you absorbed the Hungarian horntail's fire as his prime example. Whilst Hermione is moaning about how you killed a sentient being and is preaching Dumbledore sentiment on how it is wrong how you forced your magical core to mutate. Yes, I am sad to say that Dumbledore announced just after you awoke from the coma about how you have forced your magical core to change with the influx of draconic essence. So, the majority of the faculty are siding with him, but a couple of the teachers have said that you used whatever you had at your disposal to win the match; those are the younger professors and Flitwick." The Gryffindor based Patil twin said as she embraced the left side of the raven-haired young man. "Thank you, my dear. I had suspected he would do something like that once I was out from under his thumb. I do want to show the two of you something that I have started to master slowly. I think it might be best if Madam Pomfrey also bears witness to this so she can explain to the Dumbledore that I have spent the week in isolation figuring out how my new draconic magic works and how to control it. I have done this to ensure the safety of the students around me." The raven-haired teen said to his two companions before he called out to the stern healer.
"What is it now, Mr potter. How could you have hurt yourself without leaving my domain." The healer cries as she walks out of her office in a rush. "I am perfectly fine, my dear Madam Pomfrey. I merely want to show you that I have been practising with my new draconic origin magic." The emerald-eyed teenager said as he held up his left hand, made a fist, and a small flame burst forth from the bottom of the fist. It made it look like he was holding a knife made from pure fire in a reverse grip. The two girls could only stare in awe at the beautiful sight. The light from the flames danced off the teenager's new metallic arm, radiating the pristine and sterile white walls of the hospital wing in a warm bronze and silver glow. "Madam Pomfrey if I may ask a slightly invasive question. I have started to feel that something underhanded occurred during the naming ceremony. I have reviewed my memories of the night. I found that several things do not fit together. If my hunch is correct, then all of the student's memories will be the same as mine, but I reckon that the faculties will not have been altered. So, my question is, do you mind if I perform legilimency on you?" the raven-haired teenager asked.
"Why is it that you feel that something is afoot when it comes to your name coming out of the Goblet of Fire. Professor Dumbledore has already confirmed that the goblet had multiple confundus charms layered down upon it to trick it into thinking that a fourth school participated in the Triwizard Tournament. I shall permit you to look at my memories of that evening if you can explain your irrational theory." The greying Medi-witch exclaimed in shock. "In my fleeting time away, I was browsing the books in the family library and came across an interesting tidbit of information in regard to the origins of the famous Goblet of Fire. More precisely, the Potter family, my great-great-grandfather, created it as a gift to the Black family as a gift for them becoming a noble and ancient family. Before he delivered the cup, he placed a family-based enchantment to prevent it from selecting any underaged Potter. I came across an inventory log belonging to the Black family, the record states that the family installed a similar enchantment to one that the potters installed into the goblets enchanted programming to prevent any underaged Blacks from entering the Tri-Wizard. Given I have both black and potter family blood running through my veins, it should be impossible for my name to come out of the goblet unless I was of age." The male teenager said to the healer.
"Now that I have that information. I feel that your reasoning for wanting to view my memories is very sound and logical. I shall permit you this once to look and see if anyone from either the staff or student population acted underhandedly when your name came out of that blasted thing." Poppy said to her favourite student as she lowered her occlumency shields. The raven-haired teenager peered into her brown eyes. He felt his magic pulling his subconscious into her mind. He was viewing the naming ceremony, he did not pay attention as the three real champions were being determined, but the moment the goblet roared with a devilish blue flame. He immediately started to pay attention to the physical plane and the ambient and wild magics that flow throughout Hogwarts. The ambient magics were slowly shifting, indicating a spell had been cast. The teen watched through the healers' eyes as half a dozen of confundus charms hit the goblet; the wild magic was the most intriguing thing was these black orbs were floating around the goblet. The teenager gently pulled his Legilimency probe back and returned to the real world.
"So, I witnessed the confundus charms being cast but not whom cast said spells. The most exciting element to this was the phenomenon of negative mana entering the wild magics plane. This phenomenon is known as forbidden magic; it is written down that negative mana can cause corruption of the body, soul, mind and magic of the caster and victim alike." The raven-haired teenager explained his findings to the group. "So Mr. potter. How does that prove your hypothesis on how you were entered into the tournament?" The school nurse queried; the raven-haired young man let out a sigh as he ran his hands through his hair, making the already unruly mess even messier. "Given my blood ties to the goblet of fire's runic enchantments. Only forbidden magic would be strong enough to punch through the protective magic imbued into the goblet," Harry explained to the nurse. The greying nurse could see the logic that the teenager was using.
"I'll once again leave you three to catch up; please refrain from any loud noises as I don't want more grey hairs than the ones you've already given me, Mr Potter." The nurse gently whispered as she slowly left the trio of teenagers alone. The trio did not say anything but just sat there on the bed having a small hug session. "I'm going to have to leave you guys now as I don't want to be the last person at the Ravenclaw tower's entrance just in case I cannot answer the riddle." Exclaimed Padma jumping up from her place on the bed when she noticed the time. "Mr Potter, you may leave my care as I have deemed you healthy, but at the first sign of issues with either your magical core or this unique prosthetic of yours, please come to me at once." Madam Pomfrey called out from her office. "Well, then I guess we should be heading back to the common room then, huh, Harry." The gossip queen of Gryffindor said as she took the teenagers hand and dragged him out of the medical wing and up to the portrait of the Fat Lady.
As the duo of Gryffindors made their way to their common room, the raven-haired teenager slipped on a pair of bracelets featuring shards of glowing wood. "What are those, Harry? Is that wood what I think it is." Asked the female Gryffindor. "Well, these bands are something I invented whilst I was in my coma, the wood. If you thought that it is from my wand, then you would be correct, my dear. I took my blueprints to Ollivander; he helped me shrink down my wand and craft a second wand with a core comprised of entwined dragon heartstrings. These bracelets function as a focus for my magic and as a transformer, as my magic is now draconic in nature. It does not flow like yours, so these bands allow me to still perform the different magical architypes." The raven-haired teenager explained to the stunned female as the two entered the common room.
Parvati's mind was reeling with information overload. First, the boy she wanted to get to know was suddenly much brighter than before his coma unless he was always holding back. He had successfully learnt to control his enhanced magic as an Indian raised magical. She knew that an altered magical core is not necessarily negative like the British were making out to be. Yes, it can have its risks, but if done correctly, then the users' magical core would grow and be more robust than it was before. The teenager sighed to herself that the boy was still the same loveable sap as before his change. "Ah, oh well, I do still want to get to know him." The dark-eyed teenager said to no one as it was more of a self-talk. Whilst the beautiful Indian descent witch was thinking about the man, she had affection for, he was making his way to the comfortable armchairs near the fireplace.
The raven-haired teenager sighed as he slumped down into the comfortable armchair, slipping his satchel off as he did and s dead ahead into the fire. He reached down to his bag, he pulled out a sleek sheet of grey metal and glass shaped like a slate, it was roughly 161.9mm in height, 78mm wide and 6mm in depth. The teen proceeded to tap the slate twice and an array of runic glyphs appeared which slowly transitioned into English, the brunette witch slowly approached the seat and gently sat down on the armrest of the armchair that emerald-eyed young man had taken occupation of and sent a questioning glance at the odd device in his hands. "What have you got there Harry? Whatever it is it looks advanced." Parvati asked the draconic mage.
"Ah, this is a magical equivalent of the muggle world's computerised tablet device. I produced the idea during my stay in the hospital wing, with this device I can take detailed notes in theory-based classes as well as work on any personal projects in my free time." The emerald-eyed wizard explained as he showed the chocolate-eyed witch the device, he sent her a wink when he mentioned his time in the hospital wing.
Suddenly the warm fire that had been roaring away in the fireplace was extinguished much to the dismay of those who had been basking in the heat, some of the younger years gave a small shiver due to the cold nip in the winter air that was drafting through the large bay window. "I highly doubt you created that thing, you dragon killer. There are two key issues here; the first is the fact your grades are average at best plus you do not even take runes. And the second issue is the well-known issue of electronical devices not working around magic." Exclaimed a buck-toothed witch who gave off a bossy nature.
The dark-haired wizard looked to his left to see the darker-skinned witch was shivering from the chill. "Parvati, would you mind holding this for me whilst I have a word with Granger?" He asked the pretty witch at his side, said witch simply nodded her head as her answer partially due to Hermione's attitude and partially because of her chattering teeth.
The fourteen-year-old wizard gently handed the witch the magical technology and as he withdrew his hand, the witch slowly stopped shivering and let out a gasp as she was engulfed in a warm and calming aura that almost felt like she was being hugged by the scruffy-haired wizard. "Look here, Granger. Just because I did not take runes or show my full intellect because I was worried about yours and Ronald's response. On the dragon killer thing, it was a kill or be killed situation." The teen growled in annoyance at the buck-toothed, bushy-haired witch.
The brown-eyed witch was stunned because the boy in front of her had actually answered back with a well thought out rebuttal, she turned around and stormed away in a huff. She just could not fathom the thought that the boy she had called friend for the previous three years would talk back to her and use logic that even she was incapable of fighting but still why would he do what he did.
The emerald-eyed magic user simply stared off into the now extinguished fireplace as he sang back down into the armchair, he raised his left arm as a small bead of orangey-red fire appeared in front of his hand. The bespekled youth softly flicked his wrist sending the small bead of fiery aura sailing into the doused fireplace instantly reigniting the embers.
The witch of Indian descent looked over at the man that herself and her sister were intending to get know and allowed a small smile to grace her face however this happiness as she handed him back the magical device. However, this happiness was shortly replaced with shock and horror as the now vexed fuzzy-haired witch cried out "Incendio."
A gout of orangey-red flames emerged from Hermione's wand; the plume of fire hit the raven-haired teen. "Neville, would you mind doing me a favour and fetching Professor McGonagall." A calm and collected voice called out from within the magical flames, the shy fourth year boy quickly raced out of the portrait hole.
Five minutes passed before the loud noise of hurried footfall was soon heard rapidly approaching the now closed portrait hole, an out of breath Longbottom heir and slightly panting transfiguration professor entered the common room just as the column of orangery-red flames emanating from Granger's wand.
"What in the name of merlin are you doing Ms Granger? You know we do not attack your fellow students, and you Mr. Potter why am I not surprised to see you in the middle of this however I do not want to say this I might not like how ye went about the first task, but I am glam to see that ye are healthy." The Scottish teacher exclaimed. "Now then Mrs. Granger, I think that 50 points from Gryffindor and a weeks' worth of detentions for ye." The teacher says as some of her Scottish brogue coming through due to a mixture of anger and shock.
This shocked the bushy-haired witch as she had only ever been in trouble with her teachers once in her life and that was after the troll incident back in her first year and was only because she lied to protect her now former friend. "But professor McGonagall, I was simply trying to teach this creature killer a lesson plus he's no longer fully human due to using dark magic to forcefully grow and mutate his magical core." Whined the buck-toothed fourth year witch.
The stern elderly educator spun on her heel and stalked towards the buck-toothed young witch and glared at her. "Look here, Ms Granger. You have truly just burned any hope you had at repairing the bridges of friendship with young Mr. Potter. As I have stated on numerous occasions since the unfortunate occurrence at the first task of the Tri-wizard Tournament, yes, I was not happy and still am not however I even have to admit that this young man is very instinctual in situations. I cannot place the blame solely on his shoulders because why we thought that a fourteen-year-old would be able to manage two fully grown dragons especially two five x classed creatures otherwise known as wizard killers." Th teacher says as she look away from the frizzy-haired young witch and at the raven-haired wizard.
"As I was saying Ms Granger, you had one of the strongest connections to said young man, he has shown just how far he is willing to go for his friends and you were his best friend and had stuck to him through a lot of demanding situations including the beginning of this troubling year. if I, was you Hermione, I would take a deep look in the mirror and think what kind of person you want to be in the future and what is more important to you, following what those in a position of power says or standing b your friends no matter the cost." The stern Scottish teacher says as she walks away from the teenaged magic wielder and approached the bespectacled young warrior.
"Now Mr. Potter, as I have just said I may not agree with how ruthless you were in handling of the dragons and the final outcome of the issue, however I do want to say that I am one of the few teachers who are on your side in this situation, I can see your mothers sound moral principals and her stronger tongue. Once again, I am glad to see that you fully healed up after your ordeal and are now healthy." The feline-shifting teacher said gently to Harry as she stalked off still angered by what she had seen here, quickly exiting once through the portrait hole.
The young man watched as his head of house left the common room, the draconic wizard once again slumped into the armchair and cradled his head in his hands. He let out a muffled cry of agony as the last connection to his old friendships had well and truly burned to ashes. The teen felt a pair of slender arms wrap around him as the beautiful Indian witch hugged him from his left-hand side.
"It is ok, Harry. It is just them showing their true colours when their friend needs them the most, trust me when I say this both myself and my sister have always been on your side and those that have supported you from the shadows shall soon make themselves known and keep you well informed of what is going on behind the scenes." She gently whispered as she rubbed calming circles into his back.
This made the metal armed teen smile a beaming grin. "Thank you, Parvati just knowing that two people are supporting me and have my back is all I need to get through this trailing period. The funny thing I found out is that the Potters family magic has always had ties to the elements." The emerald-eyed wizard said with a newfound confidence.
The new duo spent the next three hours before either of them headed to bed, simply chatting, and learning new things about each other. Parvati learned a lot of new things about her crush such as the fact that Harry preferred to fly just for fun rather than actually playing quidditch, his favourite subject is DADA, and he is unsure as to what he wants to do once he finishes his schooling here at Hogwarts. Whilst Harry learned that whilst Parvati might act like an airheaded gossip but in reality, she is much smarter than she lets on, she wants to either go into magical journalism or fashion design, her favourite subject is Divination but is closely followed by charms.
the sun had set, and it was the late evening around half ten before either of them wanted to go to bed. "Well good night then Harry. I will see you in the morning, meet you down here at half seven, we can go eat together. If that ok with you?" the brown-eyed teenager said as she skipped towards the stairs that lead up to the fourth-year girls' dormitories.
The raven-haired, emerald-eyed teen watched as the pretty Indian witch head up the stairs. He was smiling at the newfound friendship that he was secretly hoping to be more, he quickly made a haste retreat to his own dorm room and the four-poster bed. The teen quickly shed his jacket and trousers before crawling under the covers and drifting off to sleep.
The draconic teen awoke as his emerald eyes snapped open, he waved his hand in the air as a shimmering golden mist appeared and showed him that the time was currently 6 in in the morning, he grabbed a change of clothes as well as two odd shaped boxes one looked to be a miniature version of the device he had the night prior and the other was a small rectangle no bigger than a soup can and headed for the showers to freshen up for the day.
The teen tapped his left hand against the odd box which caused it to make a low beep sounds out, next he taps the screen of the magical device and flicks through a few things until he taps on something, and the steady beat of Seal Whales by the Meat Puppets comes on, this causes the teen to grin as he grabs his shower.
The raven-haired teen finished getting ready for the day and put on his uniform, clipped the device to his left wrist and put the other item on his bedside table and picked up his satchel and headed once again to armchair he was sat in night prior.
A pair of Brown eyes that belong to Parvati Patil snap open as she rolls over and snatches up her wand and utters "Tempus" as a shimmering cloud appears in the form of numbers that read 07:00. She quickly got up and gathered her robes for the day and made her way to the female's showers.
As she left the fourth-year girls' dorms and made her way down the stairs, once she arrived in the common room, she could see the young man she wants to get to know curled up in an armchair in front of the dying embers of the fire. He was tapping away at his odd device that he had shown her yesterday evening.
She walked forward and sat down on the sofa next to the armchair. "Good morning, Harry. If you are ready for breakfast so am I., do you mind me asking what you are working on that has your focus so drawn to that device." She asked softly and firmly to the emerald-eyed teen.
Said teenager looked up from his work and saw that he had been joined by the person he had been waiting for. "Oh, Good Morning Parvati. Yes, I am ready to head down for breakfast." Harry said as he stood up and put the device back into his satchel. He quickly looked around the room to see if anyone was around but noticed that no one had gotten up yet.
"The project I was looking over on my tablet, was the blueprints for my mechanical arm, I designed it but when I was re-drawing the plans, I noticed some changes that I don't remember making. I created it as I had originally intended it to be but I'm just looking over them to see what they were and if they could be of use for the future. I reckon that it was either Tesla or Leonardo, Tesla always thought he was the better inventor whilst Leo would have just found it funny to do." The teen said in a low whisper as he leads the stunned Indian witch out of the common room and down towards the great hall.
"Harry, would you mind if we sit with Padma during the next couple of meals? Because I feel bad because we all said that we would get to know you, but I get more opportunities than her." Parvati asked the young man as she pulled him to one side just before they entered the hallway.
"Sure, I don't mind that as I too was feeling bad, lets head to the Ravenclaw table then and await her." Harry said as he nodded his head at what the Gryffindor half of the patil twins had to say. The duo head towards the third table form the left-hand side of the hall, they sat down at the end of the said table.
Shortly after the two had sat down, they were joined by an identical replica of Parvati, the only way you could tell them apart aside from the different coloured robes was the hair, Parvati had her swept up in a braided ponytail over her left shoulder whilst Padma had the same hair cut but over her left shoulder.
The great hall was slowly filling up with students making their way to their tables or to find some of their friends at other tables. The Ravenclaw half of the Patil twins quickly sat down on the raven-haired teens right hand side, "it is not like I don't mind you guys being here but is it all ok for you to be sitting here." She asked genuinely concerned for both her sister and new friend/ hopefully more than.
The duo both chuckled at Padma's response. "Relax sis, its ok, all students are welcome to intermingle amongst one another at any of the house tables apart from formal meals such as the Halloween feast or the welcome feast. You're the Ravenclaw out of the two of us, how did you not know that." Parvati explained to her shell-shocked sister.
Professor Dumbledore walked up to his podium and tapped his wand to the top of the podium and cleared his throat to draw the halls awareness, all four of the houses instantly stopped talking and turned their scrutiny to their esteemed headmaster, the other two schools also started to pay attention to what the Hogwarts schoolmaster had to say.
"Thank you all for your attention, would each of the four Hogwarts houses please report to their respected head of houses classrooms and the other schools to their respected school accommodations as we have an announcement to make but I am allowing each of the heads deliver it to their houses or schools." The white-bearded twinkling-eyed professor states as he steps away from the podium and back to the teacher's table.
The trio separated with a quick hug, the Ravenclaw headed towards the charms classroom whilst the duo of Gryffindors headed for the transfigurations classroom. The stern feline transfigurations teacher cleared her throat and said.
